Remus turned to offer Lucas a reassuring smile. Perhaps it would be wiser to ask Lucas to leave the room? It was plain to see that the topic of conversation was disturbing his fledgling, yet at the same time Remus wished Lucas were a little stronger and not so easily frightened. Hell, if Remus had half the powers that Lucas obviously had and kept displaying to him when the situation threatened to become dire, he wouldn’t have a worry in the world and march straight the their corrupt council. “Hush Lucas, all is well,” he promised, kissing his fledgling’s small button nose. At least, for the moment.

Remus turned expectantly towards Gregori, expecting Dameon’s fledgling to try and talk some sense into his sire, but he might as well have been looking at empty air: Gregori was staring at the floor, guilt and disappointment the dominating features on his face. Remus groaned inwardly- was the task really going to fall on him to talk some sense into the ancient? Oh, for crying out loud…

Coughing to clear his throat, Remus nudged Lucas. “Lucas, why don’t you step out with Gregori for a moment? Maybe he could give you a tour of the place,” he suggested, adding a secret message to Lucas to not get into any trouble while he was looking around, but to keep his eyes peeled for anything that might be useful to them. “Dameon, come- we should also take a walk. Perhaps we could return to that lovely pool of yours to discuss?” he tried to appease the other vampire.

Dameon let out air from his nostrils loudly. He didn’t think much of this appeasement tactic, but would acquiesce if his fledgling agreed to his doing nothing rash. At least for the moment.

Lucas calmed down at the promise that was made to him. Settling down on the bed, he watched everyone in the room. His wings quivering behind him a moment before calming down some more. Smiling weakly as his nose was kissed, closing his eyes for a short moment.

Gregori had wanted to tell Dameon that the man couldnt just go off out of rage and anger. The man's mind wouldnt be clear enough and would fall prey to attack. But, he couldnt. He wasnt even sure if his Sire would even listen to him after finding out the information he had kept from his Sire, along with the demon that had been forced upon him.

Lucas' gaze lifted at the question. Nodding after a long moment before standing up off of the bed to follow after Gregori into the hallway. His gaze looking around a moment as he had never really gotten the chance to look before. Afterall, when he arrived here... he had been so exhausted that he hadnt been able to keep his eyes open.

No sooner had the two fledgling’s left the bedroom than Remus forced the door to slam closed and lock it from the outside. Dameon jumped slightly, whirling around to him suspiciously. “Didn’t you just say that we should-?” he began, but suddenly Remus was in his face and before the ancient had even realized what was going on, Remus had slapped him across the face. Hard.

“Now listen here, you dimwit,” Remus seethed quietly so that neither Lucas nor Gregori, who would probably try to skin him undead for having raised a hand against his Sire. “We are in no condition to attack the council at the moment. Lucas’s security has top priority- now don’t get me wrong,” he commanded before Dameon came to the idea of turning him into a slug and then killing him with a powerful stomp of his boot. “I understand exactly how you feel with regards Rioul. That son of a bitch must die and he will- in all due time. At the moment we are underscored and if we attempted to attack the council, we’d lose, hands down. Whilst we’re both angry and fired up, we’ll make mistakes, miscalculate our own advantages and possibly not only drag each other to doom, but also Lucas and Gregori. Is that what you want?” he demanded, hoping that what he was saying was getting through into Dameon’s thick skull. “Do you want Gregori, who’s already suffered so much, to suffer even more by seeing your death? He was cursed, raped and forced to hide such a terrible secret from you. Cut the poor guy some slack. Have you even stopped to consider why he kept silent? Ever thought what he was trying to do by staying quiet? That would all be for nothing if you went after the council like this.

No,” Remus insisted as he stepped back from Dameon. “We need to plan ahead with cool heads. You need to sit down and study your demonic books and we have to consider whom else we could trust. I need to teach Lucas one or two more things before we send him off to battle and you and Gregori need to talk things out. Use this time wisely, Dameon,” he insisted, patting the ancient’s shoulder. “Bond with Gregori again- make him understand that you honor and respect his feelings, hard though it must be for you to have heard what you just did. What we mustn’t forget is that the our of us are in this together: if one of us doesn’t work, then we might lose each other, just like we lost Victor,” Remus said darkly.

Gregori showed the youngling around the place, purposely ushering the boy from even glancing down to the door of the basement. Even Gregori didn't wander down into the place, knowing that his Master had strong reasons to keep him from entering such a place. And after what he had been through with that damn demon that had been forced onto him, he didn't want to know what all Dameon kept down there. "I know... that you are worried, Lucas. Even a little frightened even." He said softly as he lowered his gaze for a long moment before heading out into the garden of the place which was covered by a greenhouse. The place held all rare types of flowers and plants. Even a tree in the middle that held a treehouse that Gregori had enjoyed hiding and playing in while his Master normally tended to the rare species of plants when he was younger. His Master had given him everything and more while he was growing into the vampire he is now. And he was thankful for the man's kindness. Weither he didn't show it very often, he had his ways of showing his kindness. Its not the kindness most would expect from the ancient.

Lucas followed Gregori around like a little puppy dog. His gaze looking around the place as he was showed the kitchen and other places. He really liked the collection in the library and really wanted to look through a few books, but he restrained himself. He knew he would get a chance later on to explore the books in this place. Being led into the garden, his eyes lightened up as he spun around at the various plants. Having a butterfly land on his nose for a short moment before it fluttered off to land on a lotus flower. His icy childlike gaze lifted to the treehouse and moved to get a closer look. Looking to Gregori and watching him nod to allow him entrance into it. He smiled and squealed a little as he began to climb the tree and stepping into the place. The inside of the small little house seemed so much bigger than the outside had. It even had a small cot to sleep on if Gregori had gotten tired while his Master worked. A small table with a tea pot and cups on it with two stools that set underneath. He walked out onto the balcony of it as he looked up at the crows nest farther up the tree and then letting his gaze slide down to the slide that lead down the tree along with a zipline that was tied off to the door of the greenhouse.

Dameon’s first reaction to Remus’s having slapped him was to slap the younger vampire back and then cast a spell over him that would keep him bound up for hours, thinking over his stupid actions and regretting having raised his hand against him. But thinking that this punishment was bound to hurt Lucas as well, Dameon only barely contained himself. And although it was hard, he forced himself to listen to what Remus had to say. And the longer he listened, the more the truth behind the words sank in on him. Yes, what the younger vampire said made sense: in the long run, Dameon would be doing their quartet more harm than good. So even though he wanted to fly out of his fortress over to the council, he forced himself to take in a deep breath.

“Yes, I agree with you, even though I don’t like it,” Dameon stated tightly, unlocking the door behind him. “But I’m still too angry right now to talk things through or think up a plan. I think I’ll withdraw to my library, so if you’ll excuse me.” And with that, he turned around and vanished, reappearing again inside his enormous library with the books that Lucas had before admired. Pacing through it rapidly, Dameon needed an hour before he could calm down enough to reach his mind out to summon Gregori. Come to me, Gregori. I need to see you right now.

In the mean time, Remus had made his way into the garden and when Lucas followed the zipline towards the door, he was just in time to see Remus appear.

Gregori's gaze lifted to the words that he heard from his Sire. Pain seeped into his eyes as he contemplated the thought of just hiding from the man. But something seemed to banish that thought within the matter of seconds. Letting his head fall a little as disappointment of himself entered him. Gulping a moment as he turned towards the door. Lifting his gaze to Remus for a short moment before avoiding his gaze. "I... have to." He said, not really giving an explanation to the man before slipping out of the room. Slowly making his way towards the library, taking his time because he didn't want to see the disappointment or anger in his Master's eyes on what had happened to him while he was with the council.

Lucas smiled as his gaze landed on his Sire. He looked so innocent in the treehouse as if he were just a child being given a wonderful gift. Climbing down from the tree, he made his way over to the man. Wrapping his arms around his waist gently to nuzzle at the man. Feeling better than he had when Gregori and Dameon had entered their room they had shared during the day. His gaze lifted to his Sire with a childlike wonder in his eyes.

Dameon could feel that Gregori was coming closer. And he also sensed, as he ever so gently probed his fledgling’s mind without Gregori noticing it, that the younger man was filled with doubt, remorse and shame. Recalling Remus’s words once again, shame washed through Dameon. Had he really been so blind as to not have noticed just how much it had cost Gregori to have admitted what he had experienced? It was true- having been forced to spend so many years apart from his beloved fledgling ahd left behind a very negative impression on his emotional regulation. Closing his eyes so that his mind could reach out through his demonic fortress, Dameon found Gregori and touched latter’s mind. Please, don’t be afraid, Gregori. There’s no reason why you should feel ashamed or sorry. I just want to be together with you right now and understand. Understand why you thought it best to hide such a terrible secret from me instead of having come to me. Whatever made you believe that I wouldn’t want to help you.

Remus smiled fondly down at his fledgling. What had Lucas experienced as a child? Judging by the sweet excitement that shone out through his eyes and face, Lucas hadn’t had the privileges that Dameon had bestowed onto his fledgling. And it was then that Remus realized that he actually knew very little about Lucas’s life before he had known and turned him. Kissing his lover softly on the lips, Remus nodded towards the treehouse. “Let’s go sit inside,” he suggested, pushing Lucas toward the treehouse. “Say, Lucas…tell me more about your life…before we met.”

Gregori stopped right outside the door of the library. The door was closed and he had almost touched the handle when he heard his Master's voice in his eyes. Closing his eyes as he dropped his hand by his side. Tears welled up into his eyes, he didn't want to remember what happened to himself during his time at the council anymore. Taking a deep breath he opened the door before stepping inside and closing the door behind him. His gaze lifted to see his Master, but it was the tears in his eyes that he could not hide from the man. His Master, always knew when he was upset... hurt... angery. But it had been his fault in the first place. Hiding such things from the one that had always made him feel special and helped him through his troubles. His body trembled as he fought himself not to run over to the man and burrow his face into his strong chest. Lowering his gaze to the floor for a long moment. "Because... I didn't want you to get angry..." He whispered softly. "After being away from you for so long... I guess, I forgot how to ask for your help."

Lucas smiled as he nuzzled at his sire. Tugging the man along with him as he made his way over to the tree and began to climb back up into the treehouse. Once inside, he paused for a moment. Sighing softly as his eyes lost the child like look quickly at the question. "My life... I had to grow up quickly. Father and mother died when I was young, being left to those two women. After a while I wanted to get away. The only time I was able to be... like a child. Was when I heard of the stories. That is the only thing that brought curiousity, child like wanting... happiness even. Just to be able to wonder what would happen if.." He sighed and shook his head. "I do not regret what has happened to me, Remus. I am thankful for it. You gave me a gift... Something I have always been searching for." He paused a long moment. Lifting his gaze to the man. "A reason to keep living." He smiled sadly.

Dameon’s chest tightened when he saw the tears and fear in Gregori’s eyes. Why was his fledgling holding back? Had their separation really impressed such a change on him? And also…why hadn’t Dameon noticed the change that had come over Gregori? Oughtn’t he have at least been sensitive enough to have felt the curse? He lowered his own gaze and took in a shaky breath. “Gregori, why are you holding back? I know that you want to come to me, so stop holding back and come,” he said softly, raising his eyes and opening his arms, began to walk towards Gregori. “If we’re ever going to find the way back to each other, to the way we were last night, before you told your story.”

Remus tried to hold back an amused chuckle as Lucas eagerly tugged him along with him towards the treehouse. Somehow, Remus had expected Lucas to skip there, but to see his fledgling so carefree and happy made something deep within him slide into place: it just felt right. And he swore to himself right then, as he placed his hand and foot onto the ladder to climb into the treehouse, that he would do everything within his power to be able to give Lucas a world where he could always feel and be this way. As he followed Lucas into the treehouse, his crimson eyes carefully looked around at the simply furnished house. Sitting down and turning expectantly towards his fledgling, Remus felt some remorse when he saw that Lucas’s facial expression had changed. Scooting closer toward Lucas, Remus hugged his fledgling and kissed him. “I’m sorry to hear that, Lucas. Did I…ever tell you about my life before I was turned?”

Gregori's gaze lifted to Dameon as the words found his ears. A small tremble ran over him as he made his way over to the man. As if he were only a small child, his face burrowed into Dameon's chest as the tears threatened to fall from his eyes. Fingers curled into the fabric of his Master's shirt as he bit back small whimpers that wanted to leave him. He had been broken by another, something he had never wanted to happen. He only wanted one man, and still after so much time had past between them. He still wanted that one man. "Master..." He whimpered finally after silence had played out. "I tried to stop him..."

Lucas nuzzled at Remus lightly. "Its... alright. Its the past, even tho now... im being chased down. People and things want me dead, or worse..." He shivered at the thought. "Im still quite happy. Much happier than if you had left me in that place." He whispered. Pausing after hearing the man, he shook his head. "Nope... You haven't said anything about your life, I figured you didn't want to talk about it. Most people don't want to talk about their past." He said softly as he lowered his gaze.

Dameon was filled with great sorrow as he hugged his fledgling closer against his body. Sorrow and immense anger. Anger that someone he had worked together with on the vampire council could have been so evil and concealed his doings from Dameon’s mind. Someone he had trusted as a friend and who he had believed would stand by his side and help him to defeat lycans, someone he had actually at first thanked for having pretended to have taken Gregori in when his fledgling had so suddenly left him. “It’s not your fault, Gregori,” Dameon insistently told him. “Don’t for a moment believe that you acted in any way to have enticed him. Rioul is a monster, and if only you’d let me go after him, then I would. I want to tear his eyes out, rip him to pieces limb by limb and castigate him so that he’ll be forced to relive the pain of being dismembered over and over again for all eternity!” he seethed out, trembling he was so furious.

Remus leaned back against the sturdy wall oft he small treehouse, loosely wrapping his arms around Lucas. “You know that you can talk about and ask me anything that you want to, don’t you?” he asked, momentarily sidetracking when he smelled Lucas’s hair. It smelled all wrong now that they’d been forced to sleep in someone else’s bed sheets. Deciding then and there that he would have to make a detour to the pool before retiring for the day, Remus closed his eyes. “I don’t mind telling you about my life before I was turned. I don’t remember much from my time as a human. As you can see frommy hair, I was unfortunately much older than you when I was turned. And also a lot older when I came across Aleixo, who became my maker and lover…” He paused, not really sure if this was what Lucas wanted to hear.

Gregori trembled in his Master's arms as he hid his face. Being hugged closer to the man, his silver eyes closed as tears streaked to his face. Unable to keep those tears from overflowing after keeping that terrible secret away from his Master for so long. The words his Master spoke calmed in down... a little. But he still felt horrible from what had happened to himself that he was hating himself for being unable to fight back against such a Sorcerer. Yet, it was the anger that had him squirming and whimpering at the arms that tightened around him threatening to break him in half. "Master... Please.." He whimpered out, his body trembling once again. "I don't want you to go to the council... You do not realize how corrupt they have gotten over the years. They will only kill you if they hear that you mean to destroy Rioul." He cried out. "I... I can not watch you die..." His fingers curled up tightly into the fabric of his Master's shirt as his tear filled gaze lifted to the man. Streams of tears rolling down his cheeks.

Lucas stilled as he heard Remus, nodding after a moment. "I know.. I just don't like bringing up painful memories, is all..." He said softly. "Sometimes I would rather be happy with being naïve of some things." He whispered as his gaze lowered for a long moment. Tilting his head as he listened to Remus explain about his life. He raised a brow and nodded after a long moment. "Is... it like that for everyone that is turned?" He asked softly. Everyone he had met so far had been in love to some degree with their Sire's.

Dameon knew that Gregori wasn’t the right person to talk to when it came to revenge. And at the back of his mind, a plan began to form itself, but he closed his mind, not wanting to make Gregori feel even worse. “Perhaps now isn’t the right time to talk about such things,” he guessed, shifting so that he was sitting in a comfortable chair with Gregori beside him. Kissing his fledgling’s hair, Dameon leaned his chin atop former’s head. “But you’re right in one point: all this time that I had believed we had been living in relative peace, the council has crumbled and become a shadow of what it once so gloriously represented and meant. But Gregori, the past, no matter how terrible it was, has passed. We need to look forward now and be strong for Lucas. He has a very delicate soul and Remus, I’m afraid, isn’t exactly the best choice when it comes to taking care of such a delicate being. Lucas needs to be trained and the sooner we begin, the better for all of us.” And the faster I’ll be able to destroy the council. Taking a hold of Gregori’s head, Dameon kissed his forehead. “I can make the memories disappear, you know,” he murmured. “If you want me to, I can take those hurtful images from your mind.”

Remus smiled wistfully. “Being turned against one’s will must be terrible, but it has happened before. Especially during the Final War, the last one between our race and the filthy lycans. Shortly after Aleixo died…I mean, after we’d believed that he’d died, several members of the council began attacking humans, turning them against their will. They became soulless soldiers we sent off to battle against the lycans. They died by the hundreds, but it didn’t matter because we could always produce more and they meant nothing to us. But in my case, yes…I was in love with Aleixo. Very much, indeed,” he sighed, closing his eyes as images began to swirl up from the depths of his memory.

Gregori paused hearing his Master. The thought of having those memories removed sounded very tempting to him. But he began to wonder if his Master would be able to handle it. He knew that removing ones memories only caused the memories to reside in the one removing them. He clinched his hands as he debated on the topic for a long moment. Would his Master, after seeing all he had been through, still be able to stand there and not run off to go kill Rioul. Biting at his lower lip gently as his thoughts turn chaotic. He knew if he kept the memories, they would always haunt him and in turn... He wouldn't be able to grow closer to his Master, not like they were before. Lowering his head a little as his mind was made up for him. "Please... Master, I can not bare them anymore..." he whimpered softly.

Lucas nodded hearing his Sire. But... hearing around the council going after innocent creatures without mercy had his hands clinching at the thoughts. "How?! How could they do that?" He whimpered softly. It was his heart that reached out for the feeling of humans. Lowering his gaze as anger began to rage within himself. "How could they do something like that? They were human once too!" He said. Falling back to sit on the cot in the little room. His body shaking as his mind raced. He was the dragonslayer... And once all this being chased and attempts of being killed was over with. If he had to, he would make sure that innocent beings were never harmed. But his mind looked back on his past for moment, remembering how he wanted this life. And then began to wonder, how many others were out there searching for the same answers he had sought for so long?

Dameon took Gregori’s hands in his hand lifting them to his lips, kissed each of his fledgling’s fingertips one by one. “I’m going to cast a powerful magic over you,” he warned gently, rubbing his thumbs in circular motions over the back of Gregori’s hands. “As the magic is cast, it can be that you will relive what you went through again in the form of snapshots of what that degenerated bastard Rioul forced you to go through. It will be very unpleasant for a short moment, but afterwards you’ll mercifully fall into a deep sleep and only awaken tomorrow night. Do you understand?” he asked carefully, studying his fledgling’s eyes carefully.

“How? Because we were at war, Lucas, that’s why,” Remus replied with a shrug. “You musn’t forget that in a war, all tactics are fair when it comes to winning. It was either them or us- we had no other choice. You didn’t become witness to the Final War, and for that you ought to be happy, Lucas, because war, wherever it takes place, is terrible. Especially when we’re talking about races with special powers, there is no mercy, only destruction. And since the council couldn’t afford to lose valuable vampires like Gregori, who know special magic, they preferred to turn humans into lowly vampires to use as soldiers.” Remus ran a hand gently through his fledgling’s hair, seeing how much this hurt his fledgling. “Lucas, there’s no point in getting angry over these past, horrendous deeds. What’s important is that you remain well. When the time comes, you will lead our race to better times and save us from the lycans so that we’ll never need to misuse humans again.”

Gregori nodded after a long moment. Having to relive those memories wasn't settling to him, but he knew that afterwards, he would be free of them. Taking a deep breath as he readied himself for his Master to start his magic. Closing his sliver eyes and tried to brace himself for what he was about to see. He just hoped that he was strong enough not to run away from the memories.

Lucas closed his eyes, hearing his Sire. He let out a small sigh as he opened his eyes to lower the gaze to the floor. Nodding after such a long moment at the words. He would defiantly make sure that once all this war stuff was over, everyone would know his wishes and they would do it. Sighing softly as his gaze lifted to Remus after a long moment. "Even if there is no point in it, I can not help but feel for things that I probably shouldn't." He said softly.

Dameon lightly pressed his fingertips against his fledgling’s temples and closing his eyes, took in everal deep breaths. He didn’t exactly know what he was about to see, but whatever it was, it wouldn’t be nice. Still, he’d rather be the one to carry those memories inside himself instead of Gregori. Aside from that, Dameone knew spells that he could use to lock unwanted memories away in inate objects, such as small chests or vials. “You are about to fall into a trance,” he began in a low, calm, warm voice, needing Gregori to relax further. “Concentrate only on my voice and my voice alone. It will guide you on a journey that will take you back to a time when you and I were united, were sire and childe, were a unity and nothing and no one could break us apart. Do you remember such a time?”

“There’s no need to feel guilty about that, Lucas,” Remus reassured him. “It only proves what an important being you are. If you weren’t the proclaimed dragonslayer, then you probably wouldn’t care about those wretched creatures we sent off into the war. And I reassure you that after you’ve rid the world of lycans, such atrocities won’t occur anymore. But for the moment, I think we ought to concentrate more on preparing you for the fight ahead,” Remus decided, standing up and puling Lucas with him. “How about we spent the rest of the night perfecting your flighing skills?”

Gregori sat there readying his mind for the pain he was about to endure. Hearing his Master's voice, tears welling up in his closed eyes as he wished for that time. Wished for his life to be just as it was when Dameon had taken him. Trying to concentrate on his Master as the memories began to play out in his mind, his fingers clinched tightly once those memories had turned for the worse. His body trembled as he bit at his lower lip hard enough to bring blood to keep from crying out against what he had experienced. Once everything went black, a trickle of blood ran down his chin. His body slowly going limp as he felt himself falling back into his Master's strong chest. "M-Master..." His voice came out nothing but a murmuring thread of sound before his strength gave out. Passing out in the mans arms.

Lucas lowered his gaze at the words. Why was it always fighting? Why couldn't everyone get along and be friends? Sighing as he stood up and nuzzled at his Sire. Wishing that somehow he could just make everything right. Hoping that he wouldn't have to fight. That no one would have to fight anymore. "... Alright..." He said softly.

“…back to that toime when everything was alright between us…when there were no doubts…when all you knew was happiness and love…when you and I weren’t separated by jealousy, lies or pain…” Dameon trembled as the first of Gregori’s unpleasant memories began to flow from his fledgling into his mind. Images of Gregori trying to ward off Rioul’s unwanted advances. Dameon could really feel Gregori’s repulsion and felt anger bubbling up, but had to force it down, otherwise the spell wouldn’t work and Gregori might one day remember. “You and I…passed so many peaceful and happy nights together…remember the treehouse I made for you…” he continued in a soft voice, wincing as pictures of Gregori being forcefully bound and thrown onto a bed, being raped in the most horrible fashion, his screams, his tears… As Gregori fell against him, limp, Dameon couldn’t move at all because the tears cascading down his cheeks were torrential and his body shook from suppressed sobs and wretched cries of sorrow. What had his poor love been put through?

Remus could see the reluctance in the way that his fledgling stood and hung his head. He knew that fighting was abhorrent to his lover, but there was nothing he could do: it was necessary for Lucas to be able to defend himself if one day something did happen to him. Getting up, Remus couldn’t help but feel a little guilty at wanting to turn Lucas into a fighting machine. Part of him wanted to make him the best fighter ever, but the other part of him wanted Lucas to remain a happy child. Biting his lip, Remus decided that one more day of peace wouldn’t hurt anyone. Placing a finger beneath Lucas’s chin and tilting his face upwards, Remus smiled gently. “How about instead of fighting, you practiced how to fly? You need to know how to use your wings properly in case we do need to run for it again. Now’s a good a time as anything, what do you say?”

Gregori was out cold, his body limp against his Master's. Yet, his face held a peaceful look to it. Almost childlike peace showing on himself as he slept. Yes... he had been subjected to the worse type of torture while he had been at the council. But now, none of those memories remained in his mind.

Lucas raised a brow as he listened to his Sire. Turning his confused gaze to the man for a moment. He wasn't sure why they would have to run again, but then again... no one could be so sure. Nodding as he nuzzled at the man a moment. "Alright..." He said softly. Looking around a moment before he turned his gaze back to his Sire. "Where? We surely cant do that in here." He said softly. "Im sure Dameon would like it if we didn't destroy his plants here." He said.

Dameon took a very long time to recover. His face remained tear-striken for a long while and his body was wracked with sobs and wretched cries. But already he could feel his strength returning. Touching Gregori’s head with his fingertips, Dameon’s lips trembled. “I had no idea,” he whispered. “I had absolutely no idea.” And no, he wouldn’t remove these memories from his mind. These would remain forever inside of him because he needed these images inside his head to fuel his hatred against Rioul and the Council. And they would pay…when the right time came. But first of all, he needed to tend to his fledgling. Sweeping Gregori up in his arms, Dameon began to carry him back to their bedroom.

Remus laughed. “Lucas, I don’t think that Dameon is in the least bit worrying about his plants right now,” he uncharacteristically grinned. “But we could step out the greenhouse and then you could try to fly around outside. As you know, as a vampire, we can run, jump and move faster than humans. And since we also possess special powers, even though I, for example, don’t have wings, I can still fly. But it usually takes decades to perfect this. You, on the other hand, have wings. And you need to be able to employ them if danger strikes and you need to hurry away. Ah, this is much better,” he conclused, looking up at the tall ceiling of the garden inside the large cave-like hall inside which Dameon had placed his garden. “I think we should start here. Lucas, can you fly up to the top of the ceiling by yourself and land again without falling over?”

Gregori stayed in his sleeping state as he was carried off to the bedroom. Nightmares of the Council and Rioul was no longer present to haunt his sleep. Being placed on the lavish bed in his Master's chambers, he groaned softly and curled up on the soft mattress.

Lucas raised a brow as he heard Remus, "I can try.." He said softly as he made his way out of the tree. Looking up at the ceiling for a moment before he crouched down. Jumping, his wings spread out behind him. Taking off to the ceiling of the place. Afterwards, he slowly descended to the floor before loosing his balance and tumbled onto the floor with a loud thump and a groan. Yea... his landing would need more work.

Dameon watched Gregori curling into a soft ball, reminded of a wolf cub in all its cuteness. And suddenly, after having found out the truth of his fledgling’s harrowing experiences, Dameon couldn’t bare the idea of waiting for Gregori to only awaken the following night. They had already been parted for so long and he was sure that, when Gregori next opened his eyes, everything would be as it had been shortly after Dameon had turned Gregori. Stretching out behind his fledgling, Dameon wrapped his arms around his fledgling and kissing Gregori’s eyelids, whispered a magical song. “Wake up, Gregori. Wake up, my love. I need you.”

Remus tried to cover up his laugh by coughing and clearing his throat. While Lucas’s takeoff had been marvelous and truly elegant, the landing…had been quite the opposite. His fledgling had uncannily reminded him of a drunken duckling trying to imitate its mother when coing back to earth. “Uh…well, not bad, for your first time,” he said briskly, turning his back on his fledgling so that he could crack out the grin that was threatening to explode onto his face. Wiping it carefully off before turning back around, Remus rose into the air, hovering several meters above his fledgling. “Lucas, I want you to fly up and try to catch me. I will continuously dodge back and forth, at times vanishing. I need you to test your speed and sharpen your senses. Using your wings, try to catch me or guess where I will next appear. The goal of this game is to catch me and drop back to earth once you have me. I won’t attack you now, but the better you get, the more resistance I’ll employ,” he warned, beckoning to his fledgling with his left hand.

Gregori looked so peaceful in his slumber. Yet it was when he heard his Master's voice that caused him to whimper softly and turn over to face the man. Curling up to him as his eyes were still closed, feeling quite groggy from what he had been though. He didn't want to wake. "Mmmm.... Master.... 5 more minutes... please..." He murmured sleepily. Nuzzling his face up against the man's chest comfortably.

Lucas groaned as he lifted his gaze up to his Sire, a pout on his lips as he heard the man and watched him float above him. That wasn't fair in the least bit. Sighing softly as he stood up off the floor. Taking off into the air after the man only to be a few inches within reach of the man. His wings spreading behind him as he tried to keep himself balanced so that he wouldn't fall back to the floor again.

Despite the way he was feeling and how much in turmoil that he was, Dameon couldn’t help but chuckle when he saw his fledgling’s reaction. Yes, this was exactly the way Gregori had been he had first been turned: carefree, a little night grouch and like a cuddlesome kitten. Bowing his head, Dameon kissed Gregori. “Alright, five more minutes,” he breathed out softly, cover his fledgling’s face with some tender kisses. Maybe he wouldn’t wake Gregori at all, but let him sleep on.And anyway, he needed to tell Remus and Lucas that they shouldn’t mention what they had heard that night ever again: it was a secret that they would have to take to their graves.

Remus could see that Lucas wasn’t having much fun, but there was nothing he could do about this. Fighting wasn’t a nice sport and yet it was necessary. Rmus was already thinking further ahead. He knew that Dameon’s mind would be preoccupied for a while with his fledgling, all too soon his rage at the council would return and they would be forced to act. Nodding when he saw that this time Lucas succeeded faster in maintaining his balance with his wings only, Remus began to shift through the air, slowly at first. Waiting for Lucas to follow him, Remus easily vanished before his fledgling could come too close. “You’re doing well, Lucas. Now try to catch me a little faster- remember: in a war, the slower party loses,” he cautioned.
