Lucas, please, don’t drift away, please! Remus’s mind was silently screaming, his discomfort palpable as he cradled Lucas in his arms, trying to show his young fledgling that he was there, that he wasn’t alone, that he could be strong for him right then that Lucas was weak. That Lucas was sucking his blood so sluggishly alarmed him, but when a soft warmth began to engulf him, instinctively Remus understood that it was coming from his fledgling and not his former lover.

When Lucas pulled away, Remus had a lump in his throat, feeling some of the warmth that had wrapped itself around him like a comforting blanket leave him. Even though Lucas was still in his arms and not far away, the distance hurt. Was this normal? Was this the way a master was supposed to feel towards his fledgling, or oughtn’t it to be the other way around?

It was a relief, however, to see that Lucas seemed healthy again, his eyes livelier than before. He’s okay. He’s going to be okay, Remus understood, relaxing a fraction more as Victor slowly detached himself from his neck, having held on an unnecessarily longer moment. Remus turned, sending victor an annoyed glance, and thus missed the change that came over his fledgling. The next time he turned around, it was to find Lucas trying to hide his nakedness, whimpering and looking like a lost child again. “Lucas,” Remus said gently, slipping his arms around his fledgling and lifting him into his arms.

Cuddling Lucas close to him, Remus carried Lucas back into the chalet, back to the bed they had shared and tucked him under the covers. He wanted to speak to Victor under four eyes, but Remus sensed that Lucas needed him right there beside him. Glancing over his shoulder and seeing the way Victor was looking back at him, Remus sat down beside Lucas, pulling his fledgling into his lap after he’d wrapped him up inside the sheets. “What the hell happened back there?” he demanded to know.

Victor curled back his upper lip. “Don’t you see, Remus? Your fledgling unleashed his power. Only one of his many powers. You didn’t recognize the language he spoke in, did you? Well, this is only the beginning,” he said ominously, turning and leaving without a further word.

Lucas shifted a little, watching as Victor moved and then being pulled into Remus' arms. Feeling the emotions coming from Remus showed physical hurt to himself. It was his heart that was hurting for the man, wishing he knew some way to make it better for him.

When he was gathered and lifted up off the ground, he squirmed a little. Then settling down in the man's arms, he lifted his confused gaze up to Remus. As if trying to figure out why everyone looked either sad or pissed off to hell and back. A small pout formed on his lips as he curled up in those arms.

Once back on the bed and being covered up, he felt a little better. At least now his naked butt wasn't shining for everyone anymore. His hands clinched at Remus as Victor made himself known. But it was the words that Remus said that caused him to listen to what the other had to say.

Power? what power?? Lucas lifted his confused gaze after Victor left the room. "Remus... what did he mean by power?" He asked. "I... don't understand... What does he mean by this is only the beginning??" He whimpered as he curled up. He began to think that something bad was going to happen soon. Why did Victor always have to make things sound so bad.

Remus gently kissed Lucas, his muscular arms letting go of Lucas for a moment so that he could stand. Watching his fledgling, Remus stripped, sliding beneath the sheets and then taken Lucas back into his arms, pressed his warm body against Lucas’s likewise naked one.

How to explain something that he himself had trouble understanding? Since he’d come across Lucas, Remus was constantly feeling out of his depth. He’d gone from being a loner, depressed and hating his life as a Creature of the Night to having a lover again, feeling something akin to love and fierce possessiveness to a being who, if he were to believe Victor, would never truly be his anyway. Taking in a deep breath, he cupped Lucas’s face in his and looked firmly into his fledgling’s eyes. He had to be the strong one. He had to give Lucas reassurance.

“You don’t realize that you were actually the one who saved Victor’s and my life back there, did you?” he prompted, nodding when he saw the expression in Lucas’s eyes. “Those beings that were attacking us were Lycans. The humans of this world now call them werewolves- they’re something that belong to the mythical world, just as most of them believe that we Vampyres do. The hour when the sun goes down is the hour when we are at our weakest, Lucas,” he tried to explain, beginning the training. “It is the time when we are most vulnerable because we haven’t yet drunk blood. And it was at that critical moment that those Lycans attacked us. Victor and I didn’t really stand a chance, but suddenly you stepped out the chalet onto the veranda- yes, you did,” he insisted when he took in Lucas’s reaction. “You walked right out of the chalet, speaking in an ancient language I didn’t understand. Your voice was deeper and even though I didn’t understand it and still don’t, your voice rendered Victor and me immobile. It was as if you were commanding us and we could do nothing but obey you. The Lycans were kept away from us because you protected us.

Just like the Dragonslayer Myth promised you would,” Remus smiled wistfully, tracing the troublesome birthmark that had begun everything with the tip of his right index finger. With a sigh, he closed his eyes. Right then he wanted to lose himself inside of Lucas again, claim him and possess him to brush away lingering thoughts of doubt that he and Lucas had a doomed future. But Lucas was tired and Remus was anxious to leave Canada before more Lycans appeared. “Sleep, Lucas,” he whispered. “Tomorrow night we’ll return to our home. And when we’re there, your training must begin.”

Lucas tried to make sense out of everything Remus told him. He thought back to what he could remember, he didn't remember leaving the bed. But when he had opened his eyes he was outside... and naked. Which bothered him a little with not knowing Victor all that well.

The words reached his ears, no matter if he understood them or not. How could he of lost those few minutes? Not wishing to try and understand it much longer, he curled up to his Maker sighing softly. Knowing he had saved his makers and Victor's lives, helped him settle down a bit easier.

His gaze lifted when he was told to sleep, almost arguing against the thought of sleeping. He knew it was best, as the sun would soon rise and he would have no choice in the matter anyways. He was still rather young and the weight of the sun would make him sleep no matter how much he would try and fight it. A soft groan left him as he snuggled up to Remus and closed his eyes. "I love you... Remus." He whispered softly before he let himself drift off.

The dream had felt so real. He was face to face with a creature that was almost identical to himself. Except for black wings that were spread out behind the creature and the eye color was red instead of his natural bright blue. He had been so amazed with this creature that he found it hard to leave the dream he had been in, not knowing that this creature was actually himself.

A soft gasp left his body as he stirred. Not wanting to wake, but he wasn't given a choice as if he were being forced by a compulsion. Groaning softly as he sat up on the bed and stared at the covers, as if trying to make sense of the creature he had seen in his dreams. "Wings... How could I have wings?" He asked himself softly.

(I had a little time this morning, so...)

Hearing Lucas whisper that he loved him touched Remus. His fledgling fell into a deep sleep as soon as the sun’s faintest tip peeked over the horizon. Holding him tightly, Remus closed his own eyes. He didn’t sleep well that day, repeating the scene at the chalet over and over again. He saw Lucas stepping out the house, speaking in a language he didn’t understand. Yet he heard it so often that by the time the sun had set and the first stars began to twinkle high up in the sky, Remus had memorized them off by heart.

Getting up after he’d kissed Lucas, who seemed to be dreaming something that confused and fascinated him at the same time, Remus changed and stepped outside to find Victor already waiting for him. “We’re leaving,” Remus told him rather coldly. “Canada isn’t safe for him anymore-” “Remus, when will you finally get it?” Victor asked, exasperated. “Your fledgling won’t be safe anywhere anymore. You saw the powers he displayed yesterday. Do you seriously believe that the Lycans, filthy, cunning creatures that they are, won’t have been lying in wait for the Dragonslayer as well? You don’t think it’s more than a mere coincidence that five of them would appear, more than we’re seen in almost two centuries? No my friend,” she shook his head decisively as he jumped into the air with Remus, going to hunt. “Your fledgling’s been awaited.”

Ontario’s finest whores were his meal that night. Victor remained close by and at one point Remus’s crimson eyes met his former lover’s, watching as the older Vampyre fed. It felt deliciously sinful and Remu’s body pulsed: he had forgotten how erotic it could be to watch another Vampyre feeding. He suddenly couldn’t wait to show Lucas the art of seduction to be able to watch his young lover feeding. And after he’d completed his lesson well, Remus would reward him…

Blinking, Remus checked himself. He still had questions and he had no right fantasizing about the future when the present was still so insecure and so much was at stake. Once he’d filled himself with enough blood for himself and Lucas, he gestured for Victor to return and both of them landed on the porch of their chalet. Remus was overly alert, sniffing the air for the faintest traces of Lycans, but there were none. A deep part of him had believed that Lucas’s spell would keep those monsters at bay, and he was overly relieved to find that his hypothesis had been proven correct.

Turning now to Victor, Remus frowned. “You keep saying that Lucas isn’t safe with me or with you, so where should I take him? If the Lycans know about the Dagonslayer, then Lucas will be in great danger no matter where we go. That’s what you were implying, weren’t you? That those Lycans yesterday were only the vanguard.”

Victor nodded guardedly. “Remus, I wish you’d give up on that fledgling of yours and hand him over to-” “No,” Remus was firm. “I Turned him- I have a responsibility. Aside from that, he believes he loves me-” “As you believe that you love him,” Victor spat out, visibly irked. When Remus didn’t rise to the occasion, Victor threw his hands up. “Remus, this is madness! That fledgling of yours is like a loose cannonball! If you were to take him directly to the Elders and let them look after him now, you might escape with two blue eyes and not with your head being severed from your neck-” “That is out of the question,” Remus said coldly, holding Victor’s stare until latter eventually sighed and looked away.

“What Lucas needs now is to learn what it means to be a Vampyre. He’s incredibly strong, but so infuriatingly weak at the same time. It seems that he has yet to realize the powers he holds within- yesterday he didn’t willingly control them, but some unconscious part of him seemed to sense that you, his mate, was in danger, or that the Lycans were near. I still can’t make up my mind which it was. That makes him incredibly dangerous. You need to show him how to feed- he MUST drink other blood, not only yours. By drinking your blood, it strengthens the bond between the two of you, as it was with you and Aleixo-” Now it was Remus who looked away, pained. It was true: whilst he had been Aleixo’s fledgling, he had never drunk a human’s blood. There had been no need to- Aleixo’s thick blood had been all he’d needed and desired. “-but Lucas must grown stronger.

I can tell you now that no good will come of your staying with him, Remus. The Dragonslayer is a weapon, not a lover. You can’t cuddle with a sword or with a machine gun. So many stupid humans have found their deaths by mistaking fascination and love with supposed security. Lucas will be your demise.” Remus didn’t like anything that he was hearing, but tried his best not to show his discomfort. “I’ll take the odds.” He turned, speaking over his shoulder. “Once Lucas has learned the basics, I’ll send him to the Elders, but not before.” Striding into the room, preoccupied, he didn’t see that his fledgling was still struggling to comprehend what he had dreamed. “Get up, Lucas. We’re leaving.”

O.O I can see that. XD Someone has been busy this morning. Lets see if this tops your post. XP or at least... makes things more interesting. )

Lucas did not flinch as Remus entered the room, his eyes seemed to flicker on their own. Yet, he did not stir. His mouth moved so fast without a voice that could be heard. His gaze not looking at anything in particular... or so it seemed. He stayed like that speaking in vampyric tongue even though not a whisper could be heard for the longest of time.

His eyes seemed so focused, so unweavered as if there was something important that he was doing.

A dark figure landed quickly but soundlessly outside in front of the door to the place. Silver eyes lifted slowly to Victor. Gregori was well known for his healing capabilities, and one of Victor's very few friends. Even if he was considered one of the elders. Bowing his head in respect towards the owner of the place. "It has been to long my friend." He said, his voice somewhat dark. But that was just Gregori. Not much was really known about this man, as he mainly kept to himself unless something forced him to come out.

A loud and ear splitting scream came from the room as Lucas doubled over in excruciating pain. Two bulges on his back, on the shoulder blades were caused him pain. It looked as if something was under his skin and trying to tare its way out.

Gregori's eyes sharpened at the noise from inside the house as his gaze did not flicker away from Victor. His once slight smile faded quickly at the noise. He did not know why he had been brought to this place, but hearing tales of the great one being found from wolves (Not lycans, actual wolves) he was so fond of being around. Since those wolves never tried to harm him in any way. Not like any of them could in the first place.

Once Victor rushed inside of the house, he followed after the man slowly. Not in a hurry like his friend, but he knew something was going on. And he had a feeling that something is why he was brought here. He stayed a distance away until he was allowed entrance. His silver gaze landed on the doubled over boy and this lifted to Remus that clearly wasn't trusting him at this moment. Maybe Remus had heard about his own dark past. But he also knew he had made it up to the race in a better way by learning how to heal their kind if those wounds were to great.

Lucas cried out in another ear splitting scream as the bulges grew even more and something looked like it was trying to poke out of the skin. His painful and tear filled gaze lifted to his Maker.

(@Nicholi- are you kidding me!? You seriously want to challenge me on post length? Baby, you ain't seen nothing yet ;-) )

Things happened too quickly for Remus. In one instance he was frowning, picturing himself as he tried to line up the series of lessons he was going to have to show his fledgling, and suddenly in the next Lucas had begun to speak in that foreign tongue again, only to suddenly double over and shriek in pain.

Materializing beside Lucas on the bed, Remus gripped his fledgling’s shoulders, his eyes widening in horror when he saw that something that seeming incredulously alive above his lover’s shoulder blades seemed to be trying to escape from within his body and break out. As Lucas continued to shriek, withering in obvious pain, Remus could only stare in disbelief at the throbbing, rhythmic, pulsing skin and…bone? Energy? That was trying to escape Lucas’s body.

“Victor? VICTOR!!” Remus bellowed over his shoulder, trying to guess what it was that he was supposed to do to Lucas. Once again he was completely out of his depth and didn’t know what it was that Lucas needed. His first impulse was to offer his fledgling his throat to drink his blood, but Lucas was in so much pain that he would probably spill too much, the smell driving him crazy and the pain only making matters worse for him. “Lucas, calm down! Lucas, please- oh, VICTOR!!”

“I’m here!” his old friend appeared opposite him all of a sudden, his eyes widening when he took in the transforming, living something on Lucas’s back. “What the-?”

It was then that Remus sensed the Presence of Another. Instinct once again had him leaping onto the bed, trying his best to wrap his arms around Lucas as he bared his fangs, hissing and growling dangerously as the man he realized was an Elder casually stepped into the room, his face unperturbed by Lucas’s wretched screams of. Turning to Victor, Remus’s crimson eyes shot poison. “You! Yu alerted the Elders about Lucas! He’s here because you summoned him!” “I did no such thing!” Victor cried out, gasping at this accusation. “I never called Gregori over here- I have no idea why he’s here-”

“Victor, Apprentice of Aleixo, slit your wrist open,” the new arrival cut the ensuing fight off imperiously, his eyes narrowing when Remus’s body tensed, preparing to leap at him if he came any closer. “The boy needs blood to be able to stand the pain. Don’t waste more time- do you want him to unnecessarily suffer? Hurry up- there’s little time to lose,” he commanded, sending Remus a brutal mental picture of a dead Lucas that so thoroughly shocked Remus that without thinking, he ripped his left wrist open with the long fingernails of his right hand. Grabbing a handful of Lucas’s hair, he helped direct his fledgling’s trembling mouth to the source of his blood. As he’d expected it, Lucas clamped down hard, his fangs piercing through his skin, but Remus held on, revealing his fangs when Gregori stopped directly beside Lucas, placing his hands over the bulging somethings in his back. “Don’t look at me like that, Apprentice of Aleixo. I know exactly what this boy needs now. Instead of glaring me impertinently down, you ought to thank me that I can heal this boy.” Closing his eyes, he brought his hands down on Lucas’s pulsing shoulder blades and for a short moment, Lucas’s body completely stilled. Before Remus had any time to believe that the Elder had committed some atrocity, Gregori pointed out the door. “Leave. I must be alone to tend to this boy. Do not disturb me.”

Remus opened his mouth, enraged, about to throw any obscenity that came to mind at this Elder who’d appeared unwanted, but Victor moved around the bed in a flash and wrapping his arms beneath Remus’s shoulders, dragged him away. “What? No! Lucas! Lucas- GET YOUR HANDS OFF ME!!!” Remus bellowed, kicking and clawing at Victor, but his friend only held on tighter. “Lucas! LUCAS!! Don’t you dare harm him in any way, otherwise I’ll kill you! I swear it on-!”

“Shut up,” Victor hissed, pale in the face as he threw Remus against the wall. The force had Remus crashing right through the bedroom and into the dark corridor beyond. Grabbing a firm hold of Remus’s shirt, Victor hauled his former lover out the chalet, bracing himself as he placed his feet firmly on the ground and pushed his arms out, preventing Remus from flying back to the house when Lucas’s wails of pain started up again. “Don’t!” He caught Remus, who was unrecognizable, snarling, spitting, gashing his teeth- like a caged animal trying to get back to his mate. “Are you out of your mind?! You know what offending an Elder can do to you! Remus, stop it! Gregori is a Healer. He’s not here to hurt Lucas- he’s here to help him!”

ROFL, Na... Post length is a bit tricky sometimes. I've done it before, but OMFG... by the last 2 pages, the posts were so long that you had to take breaks just between posts so your eyes wouldn't strain so hard. XD )

Lucas was in a daze... sort of. He still felt the pain, still writhed against it even faught against it. The short meeting of the wrist to his mouth only caused him to bite down quite a bit harder than he would of liked if he were about to help it. But it happened way to quickly, he was confused... and scared. And that very fear could be felt by all three of them in the room.

It was when Remus was taken away from him, that he whimpered and cried out against the pain that ran though his body. He trembled as his darkened gaze lifted to Gregori.

Silver eyes lowered to the boy as a frown appeared on his face. "How?" He asked mainly to himself. How had this boy been able to push him to come here, without even knowing him. A soft sigh escaped him as the trembling body was straining to much against the pain. He had not come across something like this in a youngling before. Elders... yes. Once an elder gains his own wings... well. Only those of pure blood. He shook his thoughts away for a long moment.

"Alright child... I know this is uncomfortable for you. And as I can see, you have not been around many vampire before. I will look past the disrespectfulness of what you have done as you are not aware you were the one that called for me." He said. Not hiding the fact that this wasn't going to be pleasurable for him.... nor for his maker.

Remus would feel only a small percent of the pain that Lucas was going to have to endure, but no where near as much as Lucas would feel. Even Gregori as strong in his healing arts is not able to take that much pain from either of them. He took a deep breath. "Close your eyes, and image yourself somewhere comfortable. Try to focus on that image, let your mind take you there. It will help with the pain. Whatever you do..." He paused. "Do not... open your eyes until I say so." He said.

Lucas gulped hearing the man, but doing as he was told and closed his eyes. Picturing himself in his Maker's arms, safe and warm.

Gregori waited until he thought that Lucas was focusing enough on the image in his head. Mentally cursing himself for doing this without proper tools, he took his own jacket off himself and set it down. This was going to be messy. Sending a mental message to Victor. -He will need blood by the time I am done.- That was all he said.

Lowering his hand down onto the boy's back, tracing the bulges slowly as a soft uncharacteristic humming started from him. Hearing Victor even from a distance joining in with him. It was always better to have more than one in the chants of healing. His nails lengthened and his fangs did the same. No... he wouldn't bite Lucas. That was something against their own laws unless the sire gave permission.

Taking his nails and cutting the bulges open, that was the easy part. His fingers brushed up against black feathers that were trying to push themselves out. Taking ahold of the end of a bone in each cut, he carefully pulled them. But that was when Lucas struggled to stay still, crying out in pure agony. "Focus Child... We are almost done." He said in unison with the humming noise.

It had taken a little longer than he had expected. A few of the bones had not come out so easily and in turn broke. So Gregori ended up having to heal the bone in its proper place. Blood was everywhere in the room, a few feathers had been pulled out and now laid blood covered on the bed.

Lucas now laid in the middle of the bed on his back. Breathing heavily after the pain had finally diminished from him. Once he felt better he sat up on the bed, and his gaze lifted to the exhausted silver ones that stared at him.

"There... much better now. You really are... the dragonslayer. Most wouldn't make getting their wings at such a young age." He said before sending a mental note to Victor to let him know they were allowed back in. Tho he stayed were he was in front of Lucas, watching him. As if studying him.

Lucas' gaze flickered a little at the words from the man, turning his gaze over his shoulder to look at the clean black feathery wings that was strange for him. Flinching at the sight of them for a short moment.

: You're right- quality over quantity is best. Love the angst you brought into the story...makes me want to go out and produce more angst in the near future )

Remus’s daze and rage diminished somewhat when he understood what Victor had said. The desperation in his former lover’s voice cut through to his cloud of worry and daze. Yes, of course he knew better than to talk down an Elder, but he was half mad with grief. And hearing Lucas’s pain shouts weren’t making the situation any easier. Paralyzed, indecisive for a moment, Remus turned unsure crimson eyes to Victor, who gripped his upper arms. “Are you sure he really won’t harm Lucas?” Remus asked quietly.

“Affirmative,” Victor promised, visibly relaxing when Remus himself lost some of the tension in his shoulders. Straightening when he heard the voice inside his head, Victor squeezed Remus’s shoulder. “This is going to hurt you, but you have to be brave. When you next see Lucas, it’s likely that he will be changed-”

Too late he realized his choice of words had been unlucky when Remus reared up, fangs lengthening and fletching. “If he-!” “Remus, snap out of it,” Victor commanded, slapping Remus across the face once, hard. Remus stared back at him, stunned, but it had worked: he was so flabbergasted that he momentarily forgot to be angry. Victor forced him to sit down on the ground, keeping a strong hold on him as inside the chalet Gregori began to chant his healing spell. “Lucas is probably the one who Summoned Gregori. I swear it to you on Aleixo’s grave that it wasn’t me. And I know you don’t want to hear this, but I’m glad Gregori is here- he’ll know what’s best to do. And now hush- I need to help him with the healing ritual.”

Remus sat restlessly beside Victor, every atom he was made up of straining against the lax confinement, wanting, needing, desiring to be with his beloved Lucas again. The shrieking became even less human and Remus himself was wracked with spasms of pain, but they could in no way possibly be compared to that which his fledgling was going through. Seeing that Victor had begun to sweat blood, he knew that whatever was going on inside the chalet was seriously hard work. It filled him with remorse for the heated words he had directed at Victor before- his former lover was really trying to help him.

When Victor breathed out a sigh of relief, no longer chanting the strange noises that meant nothing to Remus, latter was on his feet in a flash, hauling Victor up with him. Understanding that it was safe once again for him to enter, Remus did, silently calling out to Lucas that he was nearby, that he was on his way, that everything would be fine…but when he got his first glimpse of his fledgling, Remus froze, horrified.

His beautiful, lithe companion had truly transformed. His body was soaked in sweat and blood and there, protruding from his back, were large black feathery wings. Wings that looked suspiciously similar to the ones Remus had seen when he had been trapped in one of the various dark corners of his fledgling’s mind. That nightmare? That nightmare had now become reality? This was what Lucas would now look like?

The Dragonslayer Myth. As the scales finally fell from his eyes, a horrible feeling of anticlimax engulfed Remus, for the first time feeling angst as he met Lucas’s eyes. How realistic was a mutual future between them? Swallowing, he moved to the bed and leaning over his fledgling, offered his throat, his crimson eyes zoning in on the Elder. “Why,” he asked, suddenly desperate to not look at Lucas, “the fuck does he have to have black wings?”

Lucas lifted his gaze when Remus entered the room and hovered over him in such a way. But that gaze was full of confusion as to why his maker was acting so different towards him. Refusing to take what was being offered for the moment.

Gregori let his gaze travel to Remus at the question, then to Victor that made his way into the room. His gaze seemed accusing for a slight second, but then diminished as he turned back to Remus. Sighing softly as he closed his eyes, thinking back to the great detail of the myth and the council that he had gotten years ago from the ancients. He lowered his gaze to the boy as he spoke. "Wings are not meant to be gained at such a young age. The myth tells us that if the one that holds the mark can make it though the transformation of gaining his wings, that will truly tell... that he is the one." He said, as he let his gaze travel off. "As for the wings being black, that is an obvious one. We are vampires... You never see an ancient with any other color than black." He said.

Lucas lifted his gaze at those words. Something in the back of his mind acted as if something were trying to tell him something. But he couldn't make out what it was.

Gregori stilled a moment at the thoughts from all of them bombarding him. Such a gift of hearing thoughts always plagued him, most of the time he could tune them out. But it was Lucas that he couldn't. "Don-" He hadn't be quick enough to warn them, but stood back surprised with what happened next.

Lucas was really confused, down to the point that he was trembling. It had happened in a split second and he was off the bed, his hands engulfed in flames as a frightened whimper left him.

Gregori looked to Remus, and wither or not the man liking what he was going to do. Well.. he was just going to have to scratch and get glad real damn quick. -Calm him! You are the only one that can without tearing his mind apart.- The words had been harsh, but he needed the point to come across quickly.

The words came out of his mouth, yet they sounded so much like a frightened child that even caused Gregori to still and then shiver at the heart that was being displayed. "help me..." Lucas whimpered out. Such a heart was never really meant for a vampire, but Lucas seemed to be able to handle it even without really knowing why.

Remus flushed scarlet- first from the fact this his lover wasn’t accepting the blood that he was offering that wasn’t being accepted, once again causing doubts to surface, and second because of the obnoxious way Gregori had spoken to him. Yes, it was rather obvious why Lucas’s wings were black- he had seen this creature himself long before Gregori had. What Remus wanted to know was why the wings were made of feathers and now scaly- weren’t dragons supposed to have scales like lizards? Did Gregori really think him to be so moronic?! Stupid elder- Remus would have liked to have seen if the other man would remain so coolly reserved if he were the one whose new lover had suddenly morphed into some freakish being Remus couldn’t control and was constantly out of his depth when-

Lucas suddenly twisted away from him and jumping up, screamed as he raised his hands, which were suddenly burning brightly. Instinct made Remus rear away from him and Victor yanked him further back. Fire wasn’t something that could kill a Vampyre, but it could cause considerable damage if one wasn’t careful and didn’t have enough blood to regenerate one’s health. Horrified, Remus stared at Lucas’s hands engulfed in fire. This was just too much- this was gone from bad to detrimental to abysmal too fast-

Calm him! You are the only one that can without tearing his mind apart. The shouting voice inside his head caused Remus to wince and bend over, clutching at his own head- where on earth had that come from? The room began to turn and if it hadn’t been for Victor holding him up, Remus probably would have fallen. Staggering nonetheless, he turned his crimson eyes towards his fledgling, seeing the helplessness there. It almost broke him and, moving without thinking, Remus was by his side in a flash.

“Lucas. Look at me, my love.” Cupping Lucas’s face with his hands, Remus ignored the heat from his fledgling’s hands and wrapping his arms around Lucas’s lithe body, hugged him flush against his own body as he lowered his face and angling it, kissed Lucas squarely on the lips. As the back of his shirt caught fire, Remus deepened the kiss, his large hands tenderly caressing Lucas’s back, careful not to touch the sensitive area where Lucas’s wings had sprouted, and hair. It’s alright, my love, I’m here. We’ll figure this out together somehow, he sent Lucas this message in his calmest, warmest voice. You’re not on your own, my love. I’ll help you in any way I can. Now bite my neck. Bite it as hard as you can and feed, Lucas. You must be hungry and you need to feed.

Remus arched his head back, offering his neck once again. He only hoped that this time Lucas would feed from him. More than embrace, kiss, love and offer him assurance, Remus didn’t know to do in that moment. Please Lucas, feed. Once your hunger has been stilled, you’ll surely be able to better control your new powers. We’ll talk to Gregori, we’ll ask all the questions we need to know the answers to in a minute, but for now, please feed.

Lucas' confused gaze lifted when his face was cupped and lifted to meet with his makers. The flames did not seem to burn him in the least bit, nor harm him. It felt warm to him. Once he was brought into the man's arms and kissed, a soft gasp left him. Hearing his voice, he gaze flickered a moment.

The flames danced over his hands but never crept any closer to his own body, his red gaze flickered along with the flames. The caressing of his back helped calm him down a little, but it was the worried voice of his companion that caused him to worry a bit more. Being told to feed in that way, he knew what he needed to do.

Fangs lengthened and fear etched itself across his face for a short second before he bit down hard onto the fleshy neck of Remus. A slow growl leaving him as he began to feed slowly, before he drank harder from him. His hand clinched at the fabric of the man's shirt roughly as nails lengthened. Then the flames flickered out.

Gregori's eyes flashed as he watched this scene happening before his eyes. Keeping his emotions at bay as he sent a message to Victor to also do the same. Any emotion from himself or Victor could cause the boy to lash out. But Remus was safe being the boy's Sire. Lucas wouldn't harm his Sire in any way. He was sure of it. But he knew what was about to happen, he had seen it in the boy's eyes. But this was going to be calling himself a lier with what he had just told Remus about black wings. or was it? No one had ever encountered the one before. So in a way... no one was truly going to know everything that was to happen.

Pain crept up on himself as he fed from Remus, minutes ticked by as the others stayed still as statues. A slow hiss escaped his lips as he detached himself from the man and clinched at his stomach tightly. The man's blood was strong, stronger than his and after his transformation that was only the beginning.

Doubling over for a long moment as no sound escaped him. Everything in the room was quiet, a little to quiet. If one watched closely enough, the wings trembled behind the boy and began to lighten in color to a dark grey.

Gregori's gaze sharpened at this, thinking the boy wasn't being able to handle the wings. But then he realized what was happening and stayed where he was.

A bright light blinded all of them in the room as Gregori had to hide his eyes. It had only lasted for a short moment, so when the light dimmed and flickered out that he looked to the boy. Lucas' wings had faded and looked as if they had been wiped completely of their dark color to a pure white. Thin bands had wrapped themselves around his wrists, but they were not chains.

Exhaustion was clear on Lucas' face, but he faught to stay conscious. His bright gaze lifted to Remus, as he weakly reached for the man. -I need you... please...- He pushed the thought towards Remus, in hoping that he was not weak enough for his thoughts to be heard. His voice sounded so angelic, unlike a vampire that he was.

Gregori straightened up after what had happened, Closing his eyes for a short moment. Realizing why this boys wings had changed colors, he shook his head at his past thoughts. He needed to make sure of something, but right now... He didn't need to do so just yet. Getting close to Lucas could only cause him to lash out, or that was his thoughts anyways. Instead he sent a message to Victor to grab some warm water and a washcloth. The smell and sight of blood was starting to get to him.

The pain when Lucas bit him was more than he had already been expecting, but Remus’s lips remained sealed and he didn’t even wince. Hugging his fledgling to his chest, Remus’s hands continued to offer comfort, glad that he had heeded Victor’s warning and drunk enough blood. That the fierce, hot flames that had begun to scorch his skin ceased made him breathe out in relief- it was working. Keep drinking, my love, he calmly told Lucas over and over again, weaving his fingers through the ends of Lucas’s blond hair.

Yet it wasn’t over yet. Although he’d somehow succeeded in calming Lucas, his fledgling suddenly pushed him back and kneeling over, right there before Remuss stunned, disbelieving eyes, he saw the pitch black feather wings that had so suddenly appeared, as dark as the darkest night, then transform first to gre. Before Remus could utter any sound of astonishment, a fiercely white light half blinded him, forcing him to hold his arms up to shield his eyes. When he dared look again, Remus saw that Lucas’s wings had become as white as shimmering snow and that on his wrists, bands akin to chains had appeared.

“Lucas,” Remus gasped, wondering why neither Victor nor Gregori were moving or saying anything. Not that he knew what to say- he was reeling. From Lucas’s having goen from a dark, dangerous monster to this beautiful creature, the wings quivering slightly as they moved with each of his fledgling’s heartbeats- it was then that a transformation and realization came over Remus.

Yes, he finally believed it: Lucas was definitly the being spoken and promised of by the myth. The mysterious powers that had begun to unfold so suddenly before his very eyes, culminating in this appearance and show of splendor fully convinced him. Lucas was the mythical being said to be the only one capable and able to save their race. And Remus would follow him to ends of the earth if necessary, because he believed. He believed in Lucas and knew that he would gladly give his life up to be able to help his fledgling, who would soon become more than simply that.

Hearing Lucas’s weak, yet sweet voice inside his head, Remus gently, with love, pulled Lucas back into his arms. “I’m here for you, Lucas. My angel, my love…my Lucas.“ Kissing his younger partner’s lips, he picked him up. “Lucas, I‘m going to carry you outside now, okay? Just let me hold you cradled in my arms. You’re safe, my love. You must be very tired and confused, but we’re going home now, okay?”

“What? No!” Gregori cried out before he could stop himself, instantly holding up his arms in a concilliatroy gesture. Victorused that moment to slip out the room, returning in a flash with cleaning utensils, his eyes flashing too at the smell of blood. “Remus, wait: Lucas is too weak to transport yet. You should both stay here-”

“No,” Remus declined, leaning his cheek against Lucas’s as he carried him outside. “I’ve had enough. I’m taking lucas back to an environment he knows well, one where he will feel safe at. If he feels better, we will return, but right now, I think he’s had enough. Did you hear that, my love? We’re going home.”

Lucas clung to Remus when he was picked up, he was exhausted. Everything was so new to him, but knowledge was flooding his mind only causing him to become weaker by the minutes. His mind working in overtime to understand what was being forced into his mind... but how was he getting this information?

Gregori clinched his hands tightly as Remus declined. Gulping a moment, uncharacteristic for him. Clear worry in his eyes for once in such a long time. It was dangerous to have the one go without knowing what was to happen next. Seeing that nothing of what he was going to say would change Remus' mind. He sighed softly and closed his eyes as if trying to think up something that would make the journey safer for them.

Lucas' gaze lifted weakly towards Gregori, seeing the strain in the man's face making him look older. His own eyes seemed dazed and glassy. Hearing his companion he nuzzled weakly at the cheek that had been placed against his own.

"At least let one of us go with you... Not to stay, but to make the journey safer. Once we get him back to the environment he is use to, then I will take my leave. I am only worried about both of your safety. You must realize that most of our kind has fallen recently. We must stick together... somehow." Gregori said as he lowered his pain filled gaze to the ground. Catching the thoughts of the younger, he stilled and his eye widened a moment. "H-how?" He asked in a choked voice.

Lucas lifted his gaze over to Gregori. "He keeps me grounded... If it were not for him... The darkness would be unleashed and the heart would forever be swallowed up." The voice was so soft, as if something else spoke for him, or well... gave him the strength to speak. His bright gaze lifted to Remus. "So you see Gregori... I can not leave him." He whispered softly.

Hearing Gregori’s words, Remus stopped. Most of their race had fallen? He turned around, his face unbelieving. “Wh-what?” he asked, his voice trembling. “Many of us have fallen?” How was it possible that he hadn’t heard any of this? He turned to Victor, horrified.

“It’s true,” his old friend told him tiredly, visibly relieved that he was outside again and that the intense blood smell was no longer so strong. “That’s why I was so relieved to see you again, Remus. There are hardly any of our kind left here in North America. Please, stay here,” he implored once again, begging. “There’s safety in numbers. Alone, we’re in danger and vulnerable, but together…” his voice trailed off, seeing the expression in Remus’s eyes and knowing that it was hopeless.

Gazing down at his lover, Remus searched Lucas’s tired, sleepy eyes. If Lucas had stopped him, or in any way shown that he was discomforted and wanted to stay, Remus would have listened to him. Lucas, however, gave no sign of this kind at all. Some kind of communication seemed to be going on between Gregori and Lucas, but once again his companion turned to nuzzle closer to Remus and he took that as the allowance to leave. “We’re going now,” Remus repeated, his voice firmer this time. “If you’d like, you can both return home with us. Victor, gather your most prized possessions. You can come and live with us until you have found yourself another safe haven. You may follow us, but please, do not excite or confuse Lucas any further. What he needs now is to rest,” he stated clear.

Kissing Lucas’s forehead, Remus’s crimson eyes darkened as he prepared the jump into the air. “We’re as good as home, my love,” he said tenderly and with that, he vanished, cradling Lucas to his chest, wings still quivering.

Lucas closed his tired eyes as they made the jump, if it had not been for Remus holding onto him... he surely would of fallen. Yet, he did not wish to sleep. His mind reeling to much with information that he was unable to do as so.

Gregori straightened up at the words that were spoke. His gaze moved over to Victor quickly, though they both knew that he did not wish to leave Victor alone to gather his things. They also knew that the boy needed the protection more than victor did. Being torn in two places, he had to follow after them. Besides... victor would follow them soon enough anyways.

Giving the two some distance before he himself took flight. Keeping a sharp eye out for anything that may give them some trouble. The weather wasn't to bad that night, the moon shining brightly in the sky so that they had plenty of light. But it was when he noticed that Remus was slowing a little that he brushed the other's mind gently. -You are growing weaker by the minute. I know you do not understand him, or fully understand what is happening to him. His appearance may change... But it is you that has to look into his heart.- And with that he fell silent. Following after the two as he kept his thoughts to himself, keeping an eye on the boy's condition as well.

It was taxing for a vampire to focus on more than two things at once, defiantly while using their powers. But he was older, and he had found ways of doing as such without overdoing things. Besides... he never liked overpowering something unless need be.

His feet touched the ground once they had made it to the area, holding a hand out to Remus to tell him not to move as he scanned the area. Something seemed so strange here, he was unsure of what he was sensing as it was not lycan or anything he had encountered before. A soft howl came from a distance away and caused him to relax, returning an answering howl of his own that matched the wolves that were watching them. These wolves were different, not like the ones he had been around, but yet... were the same.

Gregori nodded and lowered his hand. "Its safe." He said.

Lucas weakly groaned as he shifted in Remus' arms, his wings stretched out behind him for a moment before folding neatly behind him.

Gregori watched the younger and shook his head. "He may not be able to walk on his own until he is use to his wings and figures out how to balance with them." He said as he lifted his gaze to the sky for a moment. His mind traveling out to Victor that was suposta be behind them. A slight worry gripped at him, had he been to caught up with the boy and Remus. He hoped that his friend had not gotten into trouble.

The flight back to Venice seemed much longer than he remembered it. Shortly after they had passed half way, Remus began to slow down. Lucas was slightly heaier now that he had his wings and Remus was using part of his energy to send Lucas reassuring messages, telling him they’d almost made it home and that he loved him dearly. It was about then that Gregori sent him an encrypted message about Lucas needing him to look after his heart. It was undoubtedly important, but right then he was too exhausted to analyze it.

Landing on his outside balcony, Remus made to carry Lucas straight down into their sleeping chamber, but Gregori held him back, cautioning for him to wait. Remus listened to him, yet was restless. Whispering to Lucas to reassure him that they had made it and that very soon he would be able to sleep, Remus’s head snapped around when he heard the first howls. “What was that?” he asked, tensing and bending his knees, preparing to jump again and carry Lucas off to safety.

“It’s alright- they’re mine,” Gregori responded, turning to gaze up into the night sky, preoccupied. Remus glared aat him. “You have pet Lycans? How reassuring,” he commented sarcastically, meaning to carry Lucas inside, but Gregori snapped back at him. “They aren’t Lycans- they’re wolves. Real wolves. And they’ll protect you and the boy tonight and in the following nights until you finally understand that it’s too dangerous for the boy to be here by himself.” He turned back to stare at the night sky, biting his bottom lip worriedly.

Further angry words rose to his lips, but Remus decided to keep them back right then. He was too tired to fight and he didn’t think it would help Lucas at all. “If you say so,” he said instead, carrying Lucas into his house and then down into his fortified sleeping chambers. Laying his lover down gently, he brushed Lucas’s curls out his face, kissing him tenderly. “I’ll be right back, my love. I just want to see Victor come back safely,” he murmured. Timidly reaching out, he touched the end of one of Lucas’s white wings. They were softer than anything he had ever touched before. Remus had never, in all his human and even less in his vampyric life, been a religious man, but in that moment he really had to fight the urge to make the sign of the cross.

Returning to Gregori’s side, he found the Elder by himself, his expression pained. Remus stopped beside him, turning his eyes skywards as well. “No sign of him yet?” he asked, stating the obvious.

“None at all,” Gregori said tightly, his jaw clenching. “Why are you here? Go down. You need to be with the boy. He’s the main priority now.”

Remus knew that he was being dismissed. Even though he felt safer now that he had left America, he felt the compulsion to thank the Elder. “Thanks for having accompanied us. Please, feel free to use one of the guest rooms.” Gregori nodded once, but remained silent. Remus understood and returned to his chalet, removing his rumpled clothes as he went. Jumping down into his sleeping chamber, he commanded the chest to close the entrance and then slipped into the bed with his lover. “Lucas?” he asked softly.

Lucas groaned weakly as he was placed on the bed after such a long trip. His tired gaze lifted up to Remus after he was kissed, his wings trembled softly at the touch. It wasn't as if they would break so easily, but seeing the look on Remus face he couldn't help finding amusement in that look. As if Remus was afraid to touch him, that he would break even from a light touch.

When Remus exited the room, he curled up on the bed sighing softly. He needed sleep, but his mind wouldn't let him have peace. When Remus returned and slipped into the bed, he turned to face his companion. "Yes?" He asked softly as he looked up into Remus' eyes.

Gregori stood outside waiting, his sharp gaze looking for any sign of Victor. "Damn it Victor... I swear if you are playing games with me, It wont be the Lycan's you will have to worry about." He hissed under his breath. Though of course... he never would harm Victor in such a way, the thought entertained him for a short moment before his eyes caught something in the sky.

Jumping up into the air before the tumbling Victor would fall from the sky. Catching him in strong arms as he wrapped them around the man. Lowering themselves to the ground before rushing Victor off into one of the rooms. His gaze scanned over the exhausted looking face. "Victor... I have warned you, you need to stay fed. You are wearing yourself thin." He said shaking his head and pulling the man towards him as he offered his wrist. "Feed... You need it and I have plenty to spare. I can not watch over the both of them alone, and you know this..." He said strongly.

Remus touched Lucas’s cheek, his crimson eyes searching his lover’s face carefully. It was obvious that Lucas was tired, but for some reason he didn’t seem to want to sleep yet. Remus smiled faintly, reaching over to properly pull the covers up over his fledgling’s shoulders. It seemed beyond imagination- the two of them had known each other for such a short time, yet with him Remus had lived more adventures than he had in a century and a half.

Lucas. His little fledgling who had now become an angel. Remus shook his head slightly, gingerly running his hand over the younger Vampyre’s wings. His eyes returning to Lucas’s tired, icy ones, his eyelids fluttered. “Do you have the least idea how much I love you, Lucas? I was so scared back there when you started morphing and then the fire…I don’t understand everything that’s happening to you, but I want to be there. Lots of things are going on right now. Many scary things. But I believe in you, Lucas. If anyone can turn fate around and save us, it’s going to be you. Don’t ever forget that.”

Pulling Lucas closer to him, Remus maneuvered his lover’s forehead against is shoulder. The urge to touch Lucas’s wings became irresistible and he began to slowly run his fingers over them again, enjoying their soft tenderness. “I love you,” he whispered absentmindedly, relieved to sense Victor’s presence.

Victor had only just made it out his chalet in time before he had been attacked. His escape had been tight and his back and tattered jacket bore the evidence of it. It was good that Gregori was offering him some blood, because the sun was about to rise and there wouldn’t have been enough time otherwise. Nodding his thanks, he accepted Gregori’s wrist. “They fell on me before I could make the jump. There were over fifty of them and they were-” “Save your energy,” Gregori stopped him gently, pulling him closer. “Tomorrow- we’ll talk about it tomorrow. Feed now.”

Lucas nuzzled at Remus as he was pulled closer, and touched. Hearing the words that reached his ears, a confused look appeared on his tired features. Using some of the energy he had left to give Remus the comforting warmth he needed right now. Unable to speak due to being so weak and tired, not even able to use a mental link. He was wearing himself thin, yet his mind was in chaos. "I... love you too..." His voice was barely a whisper, before the sunrise forced him to sleep.

Gregori relaxed as Victor finally took what he offered, moving his free hand to heal the other's wounds. Minor wounds that wouldn't require a healing ritual like it had been with Lucas, but it did require most of the little bit of energy he did have left. His thoughts in chaos as he knew what was going to happen the next night. He just hoped his predictions were not to be true. Otherwise.. they were in for hell if the heart prevented Lucas.

Gathering Victor up after the man had his fill, he carried the man other to an empty guestroom. Laying him down on the soft bed. "Sleep my friend..." He said before turning towards another room. He needed to prepare for the events to come. He needed council... but that he was not going to get. Not with being so far from his own Sire. One of the oldest ancients that kept hidden away from the others.

Sitting down on the bed as his gaze lowered to the floor. Troubles flooded his mind for a long moment as he prepared the link. This day was going to be a long one. Sending his mind off towards his Sire's as he let his body fall to the bed to rest.

The council had been a long one, gathering information was taxing on his spiritual body as he was having to force himself farther away than he had in his lifetime. A loud rush of air entered his lungs as he plunged back into his own body. A soft groan escaped as the sun settled down behind the tree's. Laying there for a long moment as his vision cleared. "This is going to be a long night..." he said as he sat up, taking a moment before he stood up and checked on Victor.

Lucas had slept soundlessly that day, his body not moving nor a sound escaped him in his slumber. But it was when he did not awaken that would raise suspicion. He was more exhausted than the other's knew... or well... the elder knew just how much this boy needed rest. Yet he also knew that Lucas needed to feed as well.

When Remus awoke, he felt sore. Recalling that he hadn’t even had the energy to tend to his wounds from the fire burns that had been caused by Lucas’s flaming hands, he winced, turning his head to look at his lover. Lucas still seemed to be deep in his slumber. And was it Remus’s imagination, or did his fledgling still seem exhausted? But this time Remus didn’t worry: Lucas was at home with him, an Elder and Victor were upstairs. He wasn’t alone. Besides, Lucas had already gained his wings and the bands had appeared around his wrists. It was only natural that his love would be so tired out after the exciting day before.

Kissing Lucas’s cheek and whispering that he loved him, Remus sprang out their sleeping chamber. He was decidedly weaker than he usually was when awaking, but then again, the previous day had been extraordinary. Meeting with Victor in the corridor, Remus embraced his former lover tightly. “It’s good to seeyou again, Victor.”

Latter returned the embrace just as earnestly. “It was a close scrape, but I’m here. Thank you for offering me your house-” Please, don’t mention it,” Remus stopped him, placing a hand on his shoulder and gesturing towards his warm bath. “We can leave immediately to feed after we’ve bathed and changed our clothes. We both look too debraggled to go out yet.” Victor followed Remus into the large bath, removing his clothes when Remus did. He sighed as the silver-haired Vampyre went underwater and kicked up a fountain of water. This room brought back memories. Wading slower into the pool, he faced Remus when latter resurfaced. “Remus, about you and Lucas-”

“I know what you’re going to say, but don’t worry,” Remus reassured him, once again holding up a hand. “I know now the importance of keeping Lucas safe. I also believe in the Dragonslyaer Myth, something I didn’t before. Lucas is our hero, the one with the power to save us.” His face clouded over as he ran a hand through his long hair. “Victor, I had no idea the things stood so bad for us. Why didn’t you tell me anything?” Victor shook his head. “I was just so thankful to see that you’d made it. And even though I have my sentiments regarding your fledgling, I’m glad that if you had to turn someone, it was him you Turned. But Remus, the two of you-”

“I won’t touch Lucas that way ever again,” Remus promised him with a wistful smile as they both got out, dried their bodies and then walked towards his changing room. “Lucas is much too important to be with someone like me. Aside from the fact that I’m unworthy, he has an important task to fulfil and shouldn’t be sidetracked. He needs all his energy to concentrate on what’s coming.” Victor squeezed Remus’s shoulder, trying not to show his obvious relief. “I’m sorry about that.” Yeah,” Remus sighed as they leapt into the night to feed. “So am I.”

When they returned, they found a pacing Gregori already waiting for them. “The child hasn’t awoken yet,” he disclosed, staring pointedly at Remus as if latter ought to have known this. “Hurry up- he needs to feed. Slit your wrist and then make him drink. It is imperative that the child not go by hungry. We’re in for a long night here,” he professed darkly. Remus turned to Victor, who sighed, but nodded. Jumping back into his sleeping chamber, where Lucas indeed hadn’t stirred, Remus slit his wrist and gently raisedLucas’s head. Drinking his own blood, Remus parted Lucas’s lips and gave him a bloody kiss.

Gregori paused for a long moment as if his mind was scanning for something. He didnt catch anything from the boy, the mind was so still. Maybe he was being a little to paranoid, but he had a right to be. Their race was falling slowly, and this boy had to save them.

Lucas let out a weakened groan as his head was raised. Being kissed caused him to stir a little as he tasted the blood. He was still to weak to latch onto Remus. His eyes fluttered opened only for a short moment as he looked up at Remus. Getting what he needed, but it still wasn't enough. Closing his eyes as he fell back against the bed.

Gregori paced the hallways, not daring to enter the chamber the two were in. His thoughts going back to the council he had had with his Sire. Almost damning the man for not being here to guide them. His Sire had to of known about this boy before he went to see him. He had acted so calm, so collected when Gregori had shown himself uncoordinated, and worried.

A knock was heard loudly against the wooden door of the entrance into the place. Gregori stilled as his silver worried gaze looked to the door. Not moving for a long moment as he knew who had arrived. "About damn time..." he growled under his breath. Sending a message to Remus. -He's here...- He had a feeling that Remus wouldn't be to happy to have a vampire he did not know in this place. But he was sure that he knew of Dameon. He was one of the oldest vampires, almost everyone had heard the stories of the dark one.

Sighing as he walked over to the door placing a hand on the knob before opening the door and lifting his silver gaze to meet with the black ones that shone in the moonlight. "He is still so unresponsive..." He said softly. Being in front of this man, he looked so weak in comparison.

Black eyes narrowed as they landed on his childe hearing about the one. "I see..." His voice was deep and resembled a Romanian accent. Being motioned in, he walked past his childe. His gaze scanning the area inside before he walked into the hallway and pausing at Victor. His black gaze staring down into Victor's for a short moment, his face nothing but a mask of no emotion. "Where is he?" He asked. Not waiting for an answer, he sent his mind out to force the child to awaken.

Lucas did not move from his spot, that was until he felt something stirring within the place. His wings quivered under him for a quick seconds before his eyes snapped opened and a loud gasp escaped his lips as he curled up on the bed whimpering in pain before it dissipated. His gaze lifted to Remus in confusion for a moment before he felt his body trying to move on its own against his will. Clinching his hands as his eyes narrowed at the intrusion of his own body. How dare someone other than his maker try and control him. Which in turn no doubtedly would piss Remus off.

Lucas’s eyes opened and Remus smiled at him lovingly, but Lucas’s eyes rolled closed again and with a weak groan, he slipped back into the bed. Remus was about to take another mouthful of blood, but just then he sensed a powerful stirring right outside his estate. Someone he had never seen before had just arrived and was being granted access to his house.

He’s here. It was Gregori’s voice, but Remus had no idea who this being was, only that he had entered his house without having been invited and that Gregori had somehow been expecting him only made it worse. Could be that Gregori was an Elder, but this was still Remus’s estate and Gregori was nothing but a guest.

How dare he, Remus thought, his anger flaring as he sensed his house being entered. Possessively, he raised himself into a crouch over Lucas, ready t defend him against whoever had entered. How dare that SOB just step over me and grant someone access to Lucas when he hasn’t passed it by me yet. Whoever it was- he could forget setting his eyes on Lucas.

All of a sudden, Lucas jerked awake in his arms. Or at least Remus first believed that he had awoken and looked down at him. “Lucas? Baby, thank heaven’s you’re…” But then, when Lucas hit him out the way, Remus realized that his lover wasn’t controlling his movements. Lucas would never hit him and looks so blank-faced at the same time. When Remus tried to maneuver him back onto the bed, but Lucas sat up again, forcefully moving against him and attepting to get up, no matter how hard Remus tried to push him back down, it went click inside Remus’s head as he added one and one together: the being that had arrived was the one controlling his lover. Because that was probably the reason why that unknown being was there in the first place, wasn’t it? Gregori had made it clear to Remus that he didn’t expect much of Remus and it was 99:1 that the new arrival sided with Gregori and was only there to take Lucas away from him.

Over my dead body, Remus growled, springing from the bed and up into the room above his and Lucas’s sleeping chamber, sealed it before dashing into the hall, the aura around him promising destruction, death and disaster.

The being, an even older Vampyre than Gregori, apparently, had already had the audacity to enter his room. Victor was staring at Gregori, apparently about to say something against this heinous intrusion on Remus’s privacy, but Gregori silenced him with a wave of his hand. The new arrival completely ignored Remus, moving the heavy block of solid gold to the side with his mental powers and once againclearing the way so that Lucas could escape.

That was the final straw. Trespassing, trying to take control over his lover and now intruding on his privacy? Remus saw red. Letting out an enraged bellow, his eyes flashed a deep scarlet as he lunged himself at the unknown Vampyre, baring his fangs at the same time that he threw a psychic wave at the intruder. He didn’t care who tis being was, didn’t want to hear what thie being wanted- Remus simply wanted him to leave, to get out, to leave his Lucas alone and not try to manipulate him. Too late he realized that the being he was trying to attack was too powerful for him, but by then it was too late to break up the attack.

“Remus- no!” Victor yelled.

Dameon's eyes flashed at the psychic wave that had nothing more that caused his turn his gaze to Remus. Nothing moved, nor a sound made when his hand wrapped firmly around Remus' neck. Staring down into those eyes, he didn't have time for these games. Nor did he find enjoyment in them any longer. He had lived to long to be playing games with younger vampires.

Lucas flew out of the opening and landed softly as his feet touched the floor of the hallway. His wings stretched out behind him, as his gaze turned dark and the compulsion was thrown off of himself. His teeth clinched tightly as his gaze had quickly captured the scene in front of him. "Let him go." He said.

Gregori's eyes widened at what was happening before him. "No... You didnt?!" His shocked gaze stared at his Sire. It was against their rules to force another not of their own blood. But it shouldn't shock him so much as his Sire was above such rules.

Dameon ignored his childe as his hand dropped from Remus to move his gaze boredly over to Lucas. So... This fledgling had the power to overthrow his compulsions it seemed. This only caused curiousity as to what else this boy possessed, though it never showed on his masked face. "So... this is the one..." He said. Walking closer to the boy, circling him as if looking him up and down.

Lucas' body tensed as he was looked at, keeping his mind guarded as if waiting for another mental attack. His icy eyes began to glow in warning at the man. He didnt care if this was a damn ancient or not. The words came from his mouth in that ancient language. (Translation) "Why are you here? And what the hell do you want with me." His voice spoke it fluently, no studder, or falter in his angelic voice.

Dameon paused at that language, narrowing his eyes at the disrespect that he was being subjected to. No one spoke to him in such a way, weither or not they used the old language. For the first time since coming here, a jaw twinged and his eyes narrowed. Taking a deep breath to calm himself, no one had ever caused such irratance in him in such a long time. "You are the dragonslayer..." He said coldly. "And yet... so much disrespect coming from the one that should know better."

Lucas' gaze snapped to the ancient. "You come here uninvited, take control of my body and mind, and wish for respect... That is where you get none from me." He hissed the words out. "You disrespect my Sire in many ways, And I do not take to that lightly." He however... was still quite to weak to fight off this one. Even now one could see he was barely hanging on as his legs barely shook under his weight. Folding his wings neatly behind him, but anger played out on his face clearly. If he had to, he would use his powers. But it would cost him a little.

Dameon's eyes flashed as he stared down the boy. "You are still to weak to do battle with me youngling." He said clearly. "I can see you shaking... No matter how hard you are trying to stay conscious right now, You would fail if you tried." He shook his head and turned away from the boy, as if he were no threat at that moment. His gaze lifted to his own Childe, frowning a moment. "I will take my leave now." He said before pausing a moment. "Heal him, make sure he is fed properly and then let him rest. He will be fine in a few days." He said before disappearing from the place. Heading back to his own home.

Lucas groaned as he collapsed onto his knee's once the ancient was gone from the place. His wings drooping behind him, unable to keep them up much longer. Why did this have to happen to him? Part of him began to wonder if he could actually do it? If he really was the one? The weight of the race was on his shoulders and now he was beginning to feel that weight become almost to heavy for him to carry on his own.

When he was grabbed around the neck, Remus, for the first time in a century and a half, seriously feared for his life. Blinded by wild anger and possessive protectiveness towards his fledgling, he had thrown a punch that could and should have been returned to him a thousandfold. He knew better than to defy someone as old as the man he had now, when it was too late, realized had to be Gregori’s Sire. What an honor he was being allowed: seeing the Sire of an Elder. Had the situation been any other and not one where the outcome could have had a detrimental effect on Remus, then he would have been stunned with awe.

Instead, he found his neck being squashed. Since he was undead, he didn’t need the air to breathe, even though he had maintained the habit of seeming to breathe. For a confusing, illogical moment, Remus’s eyes widened, believing that he was about to suffocate, but then the logical part of his brain kicked in as he understood that, if the Vampyre before him were in the mood, he could have been disintegrated into a smoldering pile of ash.

It seemed, however, that the new arrival had little to no interest in him. Or maybe it was Lucas’s sudden entrance. Out the corner of his eye, Lucas saw his fledgling’s grand arrival and the standoffish pose that he put on. Once again Lucas began to speak in a language that Remus didn’t understand and as the Vampyre before him let go and Remus fell to his knees on the floor, Victor materializing by his side to hold him up, the irony of the entire situation smacked Remus hard across the face.

There he was, on his knees before a being he had no ways of controlling or even leaving a scratch on when he had attacked, being helped up by another Vampyre. His fledgling, the boy he, Remus, had Turned, was on his feet, locked in a fierce face-off with an unknown outcome. He, the fledgling, had long since surpassed his master, had ingrained powers that were beyond imaginable and was actually the one able to defend his master, when in reality it ought to have been the other way around. The fledgling, it seemed, had taken the place of the master, while the master had been reduced to a fool on the floor. Remus had never felt so humiliated or inadept in his entire life.

Remus, hang in there, Victor’s voice sounded inside his head as Gregori’s Sire exited, leaving them with his parting orders still hanging in the air around them. Remus’s eyes shot hatred towards Gregori, who seemed at a loss for words. Remus, instead, had a lot to say to him, but first he needed to tend to Lucas, who had once again begun to act like afledgling should: weak, helpless, needing his master. And for a moment, Remus was the one in command, the one who knew what was to be done. And by hell, he would do his job.

“Lucas, you haven’t fed properly,” he said, walking to his fledgling. He made no move to pick him up, instead remaining before him. “Get up,” he snapped, holding his hand out and waiting for Lucas to take it. Hauling Lucas to his feet, he forced his fledgling’s face against his neck and lifting him up only when his blood had begun to flow, he turned around to face Gregori.

“Get out,” he hissed, his crimson eyes beginning to glitter with ire. “You’ve overstepped the mark and abused of my hospitality. I’m putting Lucas to bed, but you must leave. And never again set a foot again in my house.” “Remus, you should-” Victor tried to go in between, but Remus sent him a glare that silenced him. Returning his fierce glare at Gregori, Remus pointed outside. “Levae my house immediately. You are no longer welcome here. You heard what your Sire said: Lucas will be alright. When he has become strong again, I will call you through Victor and we shall meet on neutral ground.” With that, he jumped back down into his sleeping chamber with Lucas, slamming the golden chest over the entrance.

Gregori and Victor exchanged a look. You shouldn’t have let that happen, Victor reproached him silently. You’re right, but how could I have known that Dameon would do that? Gregori answered back. He’s your Sire- you should have anticipated that, Victor replied tightly, walking with him to the balcony, his eyes unfocussed. Remus’s honor has been badly bruised. That was unnecessary. If he isn’t treated with respect, who knows how that will affect his and Lucas’s relationship? Gregori bowed his head. When emotions aren’t running so high, I’ll apologize. For now, I’ll take my leave. But I’ll have my wolves keep a lookout, Gregori promised before vanishing into the starry Venetian night.
