Remus felt as if someone had punched through his gut and not only removed his entrails, but also strung them around his neck and tried to hang him with them. Markus- that name, that being behind it. The one who had been responsible for having taken Aleixo away from him when he had still been a child as a Vampyre. The very man he detested so much, the man the Council had reassured and let all the Vampyre race know had been taken care of and defeated- this same Markus was…alive?

Impossible. His mind refused to believe it. If the Council itself had claimed this and it had now turned out to have been such an obvious lie, it meant that their race had sleepers amongst them. That there were wolves acting as sheep in their mists. And that this, if Remus followed the thought right to the very end, mean that there was hardly anyone he could trust out there aside from the vampyres that were inside the room right then.

When Lucas squeezed his hand, Remus’s eyes shifted to him even as his mind kept hurling faster and faster down a path he didn’t want to take. Seeing his lover’s wings tremble slightly, he reached over to caress the feather tips, smiling tenderly without realizing this. He had believed that it would make him feel strange to be making love to someone with such angelic wings, but despite the wings, Remus had only seen Lucas, the fledgling, the man he had come to love. Yes, he was the One, but above all he was the man that Remus loved. Hearing and seeing Lucas struggling to describe his visions, Remus gently caressed his mate’s fingers, turning to address the other men.

“Lucas sees possibilities,” he tried to explain it with his words. “I don’t know what it was exactly that you just saw there, but when I asked him something about the future-” Remus would be damned if he openly admitted that he had some insecurities regarding himself. “-Lucas showed me a probable future if certain…behaviors were maintained. They aren’t definitive, but they are likely to occur. My simple guess is that…the being who attacked us tonight,” he once again abstained from saying the name out loud, “knows or at least professed that the Dragonslayer would have the ability to catch glimpses of the future. Of course, this would be misused in their hands- they might want him to guess which course of action we’d take and this try to thwart our plans.

But back to more pressing matters, what did you just see?” he demanded to know, a multitude of emotions flowing over him again as he addressed Victor and Gregori as well. “Did I just hear incorrectly? The council lied to us? Are you really sure what you’re insinuating there? If that were true, it wouldn’t leave us with many options.”

“Our options are dangerously close to zilch,” Victor said bluntly. “If we can’t trust the council- no offense, Gregori, then we’re toast. Before tonight I had been hoping that we’d be able to go to them and ask for their help in dealing with Remus’s fledgling. After all, the oldest written annals of our race are kept in the cellars of their Council Edifice. It’s likely that one of those annals contains further, in-depth information about the Dragonslayer and how we can best prepare him to defend us. I thought our next move could be to head there and grant an audience, but if some of them, if not all- no offense, Gregori- are involved in this cover-up story, then we’d be walking into a trap.”

Lucas lowered his gaze to the floor. "It wasn't the council..." he said softly as he fidgeted with the sleeve of his shirt a moment. "As I can tell, the council is safe. But it was something else that was making the council see something they were not. It makes sense... Seeing something that seems so real to yourself that you are unable to believe otherwise." He whispered.

Gregori narrowed his eyes hearing them and then Lucas. "Are you saying the council was put under a compulsion to believe they seen him die?" He asked. "You realize that the council is made up of mostly elders and ancients." He said.

Lucas nodded. "Im positive. Think about it, he is an elder himself. I do not know much about lycans and what they are like or how old they have to be to be considered a title. So it is only fitting to think that maybe there are older lycan's out there that might be able to convince even an elder of our kind." Even his voice was stronger as he told them, but it was not the scared little fledgling that spoke those words. Even tho he was present, The one inside him seemed to relay information that Lucas could not.

Dameon frowned at the information. If this was true... He had a feeling that something like this could happen again. "We will have to make sure that the others will not faulter to another one of those tricks then..." He hissed, not meaning for the anger to be heard. But hearing that maybe even our ancients could fall to something so simple pissed him off.

Remus and Victor exchanged foreboding looks. The direction in which the conversation was going displeased them more and more. And while what Lucas was saying made sense, it was still shocking and frightening. So the council seemed to be safe, but if not even they, the supposed and secret leaders of their race, had realized that they’d been tricked, who was to say that the same wouldn’t occur again? Who could guarantee that the same couldn’t continue happening over and over again until their race was obsolete? How were they supposed to put an end to this once and for all?

Dameon held his hands up. “It’s too late now to go into council. I think the most important thing that we can learn from tonight is that we have encountered a phenomenally strong enemy and that he has inadvertently revealed himself to us. Of course we can’t rush into battle without having devised some kind of plan,” he stated clear, sending his Childe a pointed look when he realized that Gregori’s mind was running wild with visions of all out battle, bloodshed and death. “When up against someone who has lived for so long and who has accumulated power and knowledge, perhaps, admittedly, beyond the one of the Council, we must be overly careful.

And we need to take certain precautions,” he reminded the gathered group, eyeing Lucas with grudging esteem. Remus’s fledgling had certainly evolved from a frightened brat into an intelligent, well-spoken and cautious man. There certainly was more to him than immediately met the eye. Fixing Remus with his steely stare, Dameon frowned. “We need to move away from here. As you must surely know by now, Victor’s abode is no more, Gregori and I have probably been compromised, but you ought to have one or two further, smaller, concealed abodes where we could retreat to at the moment. It’s vital that we move tomorrow as soon as night falls- that way, the chances of our being followed will be smaller. For that, you all need to be prepared to leave immediately, so please feed…or otherwise…fast after you awaken.”

The conversation was pretty much over after these announcements and Remus stood with Lucas. He could feel the sun creeping closer, yet before he went to bed, he needed to show Lucas something. Of course he had other houses they could run to, but he was exceptionally fond of his house there in Venice, the first estate he had purchased together with Aleixo. It was filled with happy memories and it hurt that he might never be able to return to it. Squeezing Lucas’s fingers as he led his fledgling towards his vast library, once again lighting up the candles he had left around it at strategic points, he took Lucas towards one certain bookshelf, sighing when he stopped. Turning to his fledgling, he became serious. “You said you wanted to know more about Lycans.”

Gregori listened to his master, and lowered his gaze once his thoughts of chaos had been found out by the man. Sighing softly, he could not help his thoughts not at that very moment. Everything seemed to be going so wrong that he wondered if they would even come up with something that would work.

Lucas followed after his Master into the library. Pausing when his master turned to him and he turned serious. A confused look on his face for a short moment before realizing the truth he was about to find out. "If I do not know about them... How am I to fight them?" He said softly. "That would be like sending a baby into a battlefield right before the war." He whispered.

"If I know as much as I can learn about them, then maybe I can get an idea of how to keep him from trying to do that again." He said with a little more confidence about him.

Dameon nodded as Remus and Lucas left the room. "Rest... I will see you all at sunset." He said as he excused himself to rush outside for a moment. He himself was near needing, and he wanted to make sure his strength was going to be enough to get them to safety for the next night. Only gone for a short moment before he returned, a trickle of blood running down his chin before he wiped it away and headed towards an empty room to think before going to bed.

Remus took in a deep breath, running his left hand over the old covers of his trusty books, books which had been his companions over the course of almost two centuries. It pained him to the core of his being to imagine that, after that night, he would never again see those volumes, volumes he had painstakingly sought and hunted up around the world. They contained knowledge, had been witness to so many important and dreadful historic events. But what would the Lycans see when they arrived? Nothing but something to shred to pieces. He sighed heavily, greatly saddened as he began to speak.

“Lycans, Lucas, are like werewolves. In fact, a human being wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. In the oldest books that I could find, Lycans didn’t exist, only werewolves did. The basic idea that humans had of those creatures were that, in order to become a werewolf, one had to be bitten by a werewolf. Back then, werewolves were infected human beings who walked around under the sunlight, very much human, yet transformed into beasts, sprouting fur with elongated noses and claws only on the night with a full moon. The way to have killed a werewolf would have been y shooting it through the heart with a bullet made of pure silver.

Lycans, however, evolved from werewolves. They are what our race calls Second Breed. They originated from werewolves and were manipulated genetically in the hope of using their brutality and murderous instinct on the one hand, yet attempt to make them more docile. Many, many centuries ago, we Vampyres tried to use Lycans as slaves, making them build our estates, sending our pet slaves to war for us against humans who we felt endangered by and who risked finding out about our secretive nature. More common than not, Lycans were used as a means to exterminate other Vampyres that the Lycan owners were at war against. It’s sad to say, but the truth is that Lycans weren’t treated well and, after they rightfully rebelled against the unjust treatment they were subjected to, our race tried to exterminate them, but didn’t fully succeed.

How can Lycans be stopped? Well, there are various ways,” Remus admitted, pulling down a number of books and passing them to Lucas, meant for his fledgling to carry them for him. Walking around his library, Remus tried his hardest to make a pre-selection of which books he thought deserved the most to be saved. “Silver is one of the best weapons that we could employ. During the Final War, our race was equipped with swords, bullets and bombs that exploded, sending nails of pure silver flying when they detonated. Our armor was made of pure silver and that made it difficult for the Lycans to touch us. The problem came when they started playing mind games with us. Unless we’re able to build up protective barriers inside our minds, we Vampyres are easy prey to them. Aside from silver, once we get close enough to a Lycan and somehow avoid getting between their deadly teeth, anything goes. The most effective way to kill a Lycan would be to either shoot it through the heart or head. Ripping their heads off would also be an option. Since they also have regenerative power, they can heal again, but if they become subject to mass body trauma, as, for example, having their arms and legs ripped off, they might die from the shock, too.”

He placed a hand on his fledgling’s shoulders. “Lucas, I never want to see you locked in battle with such foul creatures. Your best option would be to use your powerful psychic powers to battle them. Hand to hand combat ought to be left to lower vampyres such as myself or Victor. Psychic, mind-playing games and attempted manipulation is something for you, the Elders and Ancients. You must promise me that you’ll never rush onto a battlefield to defend me with your beautiful hands- your power lies with your mental strength, do you understand me?”

Lucas listened to his Master, at first finding it difficult to understand what those creatures were and how they came to be. Once the books were put into his hands, he paused for a long moment. Once his master told him what he didn't want Lucas to do, he lifted his gaze to the man. Something in his mind seemed to cause him pain when he heard what the man had said. He could not just sit there and watch Remus die... No. He would forbid it if he had the power to do so.

Lowering his gaze in pain to the book in his hands. "I can not watch you die... If you die..." He whispered as tears welled up into his eyes. "You just cant... Because that would be the end of everything." He whimpered softly. Shaking his head as he lifted his gaze to Remus. "Do you not see? If you die... the darkness will spread. And then there will be no hope. If I absolutely have to, I will find a way to keep you from going to the battlefield." He said sternly. For once in his undead life, he was acting almost foolish to what some would say. But he had a right to act this way.

Remus is what was keeping him alive. Keeping the darkness at bay. "You can not do that to me, not this race." He said.

Remus touched Lucas, his crimson eyes fond as he saw the adolescent-like pout his lover was displaying. “Lucas, my love, you understood me wrong,” he calmly reassured the younger Vampyre. “Now, knowing that you love me and need me, I have no reason to want to die. On the contrary,” he actually smiled, beginning to walk faster around his library as the treacherous son crawled ever closer towards the horizon. Pulling books down that to anyone watching would seem an act of randomness, but in reality were well calculated moves, he continued. “What I meant to say was that, if all else failed and we were to find outselves outnumbered, I wouldn’t wish for you to ever have to lay a hand on those vile creatures. Your strength lies within your being able to command the Ancient Language and you obviously have psychic powers that well surpass those of the Ancient and Elder we’ve got to know over the course of these past days.

But I have to be clear about something with you, Lucas,” Remus urged as he returned to his fledgling with full arms. The sun had almost risen and it was high time that the two of them retreated to bed. Blowing out the candles one by one so that the two of them were left in half darkness, Remus moved his lips so that they were close to his fledgling’s. “I understand when you say that I am vital for keeping that darkness you so fear at bay. And I swear it to you that I will do my best to stay out of harm’s way. But, it be forbidden, if you ever get into a dangerous situation and are endangered, I will, without pausing to think, willingly throw myself between you and whatever enemy it may be. It’s not something I’ll stop to consider- it’s simply something that I will do automatically. Because I love you and your survival is really what our race needs. Hush now,” he admonished gently when Lucas made to open his mouth to probably protest. “This is not negotiable to me. You are my most prized love. I will never let anything bad harm you. And if you’re wise, you’ll never put yourself willingly into such a position, so we’ll never have to pass that line you’re so afraid of crossing.”

Kissing Lucas’s cheek, Remus led the way back to their sleeping chamber. Dumping his books into a satchel, he added some further possessions before undressing and climbing into his bed with Lucas. Waiting until his fledgling was beneath the covers, Remus slipped inside as well, sealing them off from the outside world. Rolling onto his side to wrap Lucas into his arms, Remus kissed him slowly. “Sleep now, my love. When you wake up tonight, we’ll make love. It won’t be as long as I’d like it to be because we’l have to leave in a great hurry, but it’ll be the best way to keep you energized for the journey ahead of us,” he knew, kissing Lucas one final time before the sun rose above the horizon, announcing the arrival of a new day.

Lucas nodded when he listened to his Master. But it was the part where the man was trying to make him understand if need be he would step in the line of fire for him. He opened his mouth to protest against the idea, but was let no room to tell the man not do to such a thing. Being a little hurt towards those words, but thinking that if he never put himself willingly into a position like that then Remus wouldn't have to risk his life. Which helped him relax a little. He just hoped that something wouldn't happen so that Remus would have to risk his life.

Having his cheek kissed and being led to the chamber. He followed after his Master, he handed the book he was holding over to him before undressing himself and climbing into the bed. Feeling the need to be comforted as he snuggled up to the man. When he was kissed, he deepened it putting as much of his love into the kiss. Remus was his world, and he wanted to make sure the man knew that. Nodding when he was told to sleep, he closed his eyes when he was kissed once last time before he slowly let himself slip into the deep sleep of their kind.

It had been a long day, it seemed that the sun would never go down and he was restless. Tossing and turning in his sleep as he faught the dreams that tried to cause nightmare to occur. He faught all that day as he tried to make his dreams better, but as night began to rise that is only when he succeeded in his fight. His bright icy eyes fluttered open as he slowly turned his gaze over to his sleeping Master.

A smile formed on his face as he nuzzled at the man to try and wake him. Frowning a moment when the man wouldn't move, he slithered under the covers and began to nip at the man's stomach playfully. One could see a big lump under the covers mainly from the wings being so big on him. But it was when he was pinned down onto the bed that caused his eyes to widen and his body to squirm helplessly under his Master, a dark blush on his face with a soft needing whimper.

Dameon had risen earlier then all of them, he was in the living room. His gaze somewhat showed that he was not completely there at the same time.

Gregori soon joined him after he had gone out to feed for the journey. Pausing in the doorway as his silver gaze lifted to his Master. He could see his Master was hard at work trying to contact someone... or anyone that may be able to help them. He just hoped the man knew what he was doing and hoped that he was guarding the fledgling from being taken... or worse. Killed.

Victor awoke and hastily changing, he let himself out into the night. It was a chilly night and Victor shuddered, not so much from the cold but from the task that lay ahead of him and the others. It wouldn’t be easy and no matter where it was that Remus decided to take them, there would be tense moments while Gregori and Dameon tried to figure out if they hadn’t perhaps been anticipated and were in danger. As he smiled seductively at a female whore, beckoning for her to join him inside a dark alley, not daring to use his psychic abilities out of fear that he might uncannily alert any Lycans waiting in lay to his presence, Victor tried to fight down the feeling of jealousy.

Gregori had his Sire Dameon. Even though the two of them didn’t exactly display the best lovey-dovey couple ever, it was obvious that they had a special connection. And if Dameon did get injured, it would surely be Gregori he turned to to feed upon. And Remus? Well, at first he had been enamored by Aleixo, but when his old friend had finally been booted out the picture, Victor had finally had him. Only to then lose him to time and then to Lucas.

As he let the body of the prostitute drop to the floor, a vicious hiss left Victor’s lips. Lucas. That blasted boy had caused nothing but trouble since he’d appeared. Of course Remus had fallen in love- who wouldn’t have fallen for that angelic boy? And now that he had those stupid wings, he looked all the more beatific. And once again Victor had lost the chance to be with Remus. If only Lucas hadn’t been turned. If only someone else had been there and turned him. If only Lucas were so focused on Remus and could be led astray. Victor resented these thoughts and sentiments, but they were there in his heart and mind and which he tried to hide from Dameon as he averted his gaze upon entering the sitting room shortly after Gregori had.

But Dameon naturally saw this. Being easily able to read the expressions on Victors features and in the younger vampyre’s eyes before latter had looked away, Dameon’s frown furrowed. He had expected this to occur. Whenever a group was unevenly numbered, the singled-out member was bound to have ill feelings. And had the situation been any other, Dameon would have ignored this and gone on with his plans. As it was, he was currently still trying to restore a connection to someone very important. Out the corner of his eyes he followed Victor’s process across the room, though, trying to gauge just how harmful Victor’s feelings could become to them. Would it simply be a passing thing, or could Victor’s aversion possibly grow so much that he could become an easily manipulated target for the Ancient Lycan?

Remus had awoken shortly before Lucas had, but had pretended to remain asleep, enjoying the unexpected show of playfulness and young adoration that Lucas was displaying. It struck him then how tragic it was that Lucas hadn’t been able to properly enjoy his Turning and that their time together had been so drastically shortened by Fate. Trying very hard not to move when Lucas smiled at him and tried to nudge him away, whimpering as he ducked beneath the covers and continued to arouse Remus’s ready body, Remus bit his lip. Would there be a time later when the two of them could simply enjoy each other’s closeness and life as lovers? Or would there never be a “happy after” once they seriously embarked on the final defeat of the Ancient Lycan?

Hearing that Gregori had returned, Remus pushed Lucas over, startling his fledgling. Their time was running out and even though he’d have to be quick, Remus wanted Lucas to enjoy their lovemaking as much as possible in the limited time. Trying not to grin so widely when Lucas flushed crimson, probably surprised by his own daringness, Remus craned his neck to kiss his fledgling, carefully turning him over and coaxing his fledgling onto his knees with his tight bottom winking at him. Maneuvering Lucas’s head to the side so that the two of them could continue to exchange fiery tongue kisses, Remus slipped his fingers between his and Lucas’s mouths, letting their mutual saliva moisten his fingers.

“Tut, tut,” he chided his fledgling as he began to slide his wet fingers in and out his fledgling’s eager body, reaching around to take a hold of Lucas’s malehood. Beneath his clever fingers, Lucas began to thicken and groan, reacting willingly to his strokes and teases. Kissing Lucas’s back, carefully paying tender attention to the points where Lucas’s wings joined with his shoulder blades, Remus took hold of himself ad holding himself, carefully prodded against Lucas’s hole. “Trying to seduce me when I’m sleeping. I think you’ll have to pay for that, Lucas,” he said in a dark voice, grazing Lucas’s earlobe with his fangs as he entered Lucas’s body and began to slowly enter his body, yet increased the speed at which his hand rubbing Lucas’s malehood was. As Victor’s presence returned, Remus picked up his speed, biting his own lip before kissing Lucas again. We don’t have much time, but take what you need when you need it, my love.

Dameon came out of his trance as his gaze stayed on Victor for the longest moment. Then moved to his Childe. "Have you both fed enough? We need to make sure we are at top strength in order to protect the child." He stated clearly.

Lucas gasped as he had been caught trying to awaken his Master, a dark blush arching its way quickly over his cheeks. Being turned over onto his stomach and his legs being coaxed under him so that he was arching his back and his ass was in the air for his Master's easy access. Purring into the kiss as he struggled not to move to much from the position.

being chided and hearing the words coming from his Master only caused him to squirm and whimper softly. "B.. But Master... You said last night..." He whimpered out as he was prodded against. Biting his lower lip gently as he faught not to just push himself back against his Master. The fangs were teasing him as they grazed against his earlobe causing his body to shudder. Obviously Remus had learned some of the tricks that caused him to melt into a puddle under him.

Being entered slowly caused him to let out a slow deep moan as he closed his eyes for a short moment. When Remus began to quicken the pace and kissing him again. He tasted the little bit of blood that entered his mouth, a soft purr escaping him at the words that entered his mind. He wanted more, but he wanted it at the right time. Not being able to move from the position he was in, he nipped at his Master's lower lip playfully with a soft whimper. "Master... please..."

Remus had had to be quick. As soon as his eyes had opened, he’d sneaked out the estate, fed and returned to lie beside his fledgling. As he’d been returning, he’d witnessed Gregori and Victor taking off to feed. He had felt a little cranky that he’d been forced through his meal, so it had been highly amusing to have found Lucas trying to paw him awake in his adorable, shy way.

But right then, Remus didn’t want to be rushed for Lucas. The longer he drew their lovemaking out, the more energy his fledgling would have. Still, he knew that it was important they left quickly. The last thing Remus wanted was for Gregori’s Sire of all beings to appear inside his head and get a move on. Reveling in the way that Lucas purred and prettily flashed, shuddering as Remus cherished and worried his small, hard nipples, Remus slowly leaned away from the kiss, commanding his lower body to plunge in faster. His breathing became labored as he went in the whole way, came almost completely out of Lucas’s body and then shoved back in energetically. Lucas’s wings fluttered, the tips quivering as his body took Remus’s entire length in, in turn causing Remus to groan with lust. Lucas’s malehood held tightly in his right hand, Remus increased the stimulation, lying over Lucas’s back and bringing his mouth closer to his lover again. “Cum hard and cum now, my love. Show me how much you’re enjoying this. Cum for me.”

Victor could hear the sounds coming from the sleeping chamber and incensed, he stood up and stomped out the sitting room, trying to get away from the animalistic growls and pants that reached his ears. How could Remus be so inconsiderate? How dare that stupid boy seduce him so willingly? It was so unfair and right then, when they were in so much peril- how could the two of them so completely blank out what was going on around them and only concentrate on each other? Clenching his left hand into a fist, his fangs elongated as images of himself tearing at Lucas’s throat and wings formed in his mind. Blasted boy. It’s all because of you. If only you’d never shown your face here-

A heavy hand felt on his shoulder, making Victor jump and blush guiltily as he tried to shield his mind and the images he had been reveling in. Too late he saw that Dameon had been reading him like an open book. The fierce disapproval that flashed in the Ancient’s eyes made Victor cringe uncomfortably, his eyes refusing to meet Dameon’s ones head on. “I didn’t really mean that-” he weakly attempted to defend himself, but Dameon’s fingers cut into his shoulder, making him gasp out in pain. You had better learn to control your emotions better if you know what’s good for you, he heard Dameon’s thundering shout inside his head. What we need now is unity and harmony, not jealousy and ill-feelings. If you cannot put those petty feelings aside, I suggest we part ways right now. The boy must be protected at all costs and if I cannot be sure that you will support his cause until the very end, I might need to dispose of you sooner than later. Think very carefully before you answer me, Victor: Can you really put your emotions aside and stand to us in this time of dire need?

Lucas shuddered and moaned, arching his back against his master. When he was thrusted into so roughly, his wings trembled behind him with his release not far behind it. He would never last as long as he Master would, afterall, he was so sensitive and unable to hold back his own urges. His control was little compared to his Master's. Arching his back deeply one last time as he turned quickly to his Master, his fangs lengthened as he nuzzled at his Master's neck quickly. Biting down on the flesh at the moment that he came with a muffled cry.

Only feeding from the man for a short moment before detaching from the man. A soft content sigh leaving him as his bright gaze lifted up to his Master's. "I love you..." He whispered softly in between pants.

Gregori raised a brow as he watched Dameon move over to Victor who was apparently having complications. He lowered his gaze to the floor, knowing Victor for some time and knowing that he was upset. He would not be the one to calm him down, besides... in trying to calm someone down, he always just made things worse in that sense.

Remus held on until he felt Remus reach his climax. As his hand felt Lucas find release and his fingertips became wet, Remus let go of his own self-control, groaning into Lucas’s mouth. With the feathery wings tickling his chest as he pinched Lucas’s hard nipples, he breathed out hotly, pressing his head against Lucas’s as his lover whispered words of love to him. Licking up his own blood, Remus kept his eyes haf-lidded as he turned his head to kiss Locas’s bloody lips. “I love you more,” he whispered back, nuzzling his nose against his fledgling’s.

With his arms slung around Lucas’s, Remus would have loved to have stayed that way longer, simply soaking in the afterglow of their lovemaking. But he didn’t have the chance and with a heartfelt sigh, he detached himself from Lucas, forcing himself off the bed. Once again, he was tired, but this time the dizziness swasn’t as bad as it had been the night before. Surprised, he touched his lips, healing them with his powers. “You drank less this time? Lucas, why? You need to be strong for tonight’s journey,” he reproach with a stern frown as he bent over to pick up the clothes he had laid out for himself the night before.

Once he and Lucas had changed and Remus had slung his book bag over his shoulder, he jumped out his sleepingchamber. Waiting for Lucas to get out, Remus wasted a further moment to properly say goodbye to the sleeping chamber which had been his favorite one for the past century. Turning around, he led the way towards the balcony, where he found Gregori blocking his way. Below, in the garden, latter’s Sire and Victor seemed to be having a moment. A highly uncomfortable one. Remus arched an eyebrow and Gregori shrugged. “Victor’s got issues,”he said, his eyes momentarily shifting to the side to focus on Lucas before returning to give Remus a meaningful look.

Remus sighed, but before he could comment on this, the two vampyres from below appeared on either side of Gregori. “So, are we ready to leave?” Victor asked matter-of-factly. Remus nodded, taking Lucas’s hand. “Follow me,” he ordered, bending his knees as he prepared for the jump. Several moments later, he landed in a dense, humid, very green and stuffy area of the world: the Rain Forest in Brazil.

Lucas smiled as he heard his Master. When the man had detached himself, he sat up on the bed. Tilting his head a moment as his wings folded neatly behind him. Watching the man for a long moment, but it was the words that caused his smile to fade a little. He knew his Master was upset that he didn't take as much as before. But it was not him that needed to be overly strong this night. Lowering his gaze at the stern one that he was given. "I've had enough, It will be enough for the journey." He said softly. "What you gave me last night was enough to carry me through the night, tonight. I only took just a little this time." He whispered softly.

Standing up off the bed after he said what he had to. He pulled on some clothes that he had brought in the night before, quite a bit different than what his Master had chose for him to wear before. But he wanted his own style. Sliding the leather pants on that hugged at his hips, and a black mesh top that was semi loose, but yet clung to his chest. Shifting the shirt a moment to make sure the holes he had made in the shirt caused his wings to slide through easily and without damage. He lowered his gaze down at his choice of clothing. A soft smile on his face for a short moment. He liked how they looked on him.

Following after his Master, he jumped up and out of the chamber. Landing softly on the floor, he was really getting the hang of his wings. Noticing how he could just glide through the air. When Remus went off towards the balcony, he followed but then paused at the words that were said. Issues?

Lucas had not the time to ponder what the two had been doing in the garden as his gaze lifted to all of them once the other two had appeared. Once his hand was taken, he followed Remus' movements. He himself had not be taught how to fly himself. But he was a bright one, he could figure it out easily.

Gregori nodded, and took after after them. As did Dameon after a long moment making sure Victor went ahead of him. He would take the rear, keeping an eye out for any danger.

As they landed in the area, Lucas had a little complication with his landing from such a high distance. Stumbling forward before stopping with a soft groan.

Brazil. Ah, the memories this place brought back to him. This hideaway had also originally been Aleixo’s idea, back when Remus had just been Turned. Everything had been so wonderfully new to him and so unlike the cold industrial city he had been born in. So much time had passed since he had last visited that site that he was pretty sure not even the youngest of Lycans would be able to guess, ought they to ever come to such a location, that it had once been a favored spot for Vampyres.

While he’d landed gracefully, dropping like a stone out of the sky, but landing like a ballet dancer, Lucas stumbled and tripped over his own fete, his wings catching inside the dense green foliage. Remus reached out a hand to break his fall, frowning a little when his fledgling moaned. “Did you hurt yourself?” he asked, trying not to sound exasperated. The night before he had especially laid out clothes he had expected his fledgling to wear because he had known the kind of climate the two of them would be retreating to, but it seemed that Lucas had his own mind made up. Well, it was too bad- his fledgling was soon going to find out how unfitting his selected clothing would be in that sticky, humid climate. “Really, did you have to defy me?” Remus couldn’t help but sigh with annoyance. If only he had noticed it earlier, but he had still been on such a high from their lovemaking that his mind had been preoccupied.

“What is this place?” Gregori asked with disgust, raising his arms and finding a rather large spider crawling over his shoulder and chest, he let out a yelp, frantically hitting it away. As a human, no matter how many eons ago that had been, he had had a fear of spiders and old habits died hard.

“Hush!” his Sire silenced him, easily flicking his fingers and sending the spider flying across the forest. His keen eyes and ears surveyed the surroundings, but could find nothing that alerted him. Turning to his fledgling, he arched an eyebrow. “Remus actually did something right for a change. Which is the least likely place on earth where you are bound to find a werewolf? Inside the Brazilian Rain Forest. Of course you’ll find wolves further south in Argentina, the most common being the Pampas Dog or Chrysocyon brachyurus, but they are more like dogs than like wolves. This isn’t the type of location to expect a Lycan.” He grudgingly nodded at Remus. “Good one.”

His fledgling looked anything but pleased as he continued to turn around in a half circle, trying to see if there were any other unwanted creatures creeping around over him. “But this isn’t exactly a place for a Vampyre either, you know.”

“Shut up and stop complaining,” Victor snarled at him impatiently, giving Lucas the evil eye as he brushed unnecessarily closed by him, lowering his voice so that only Remus’s fledgling could hear. “Did you know that Remus first came here with his first lover Aleixo?

gah... sorta short, having to take care of my nefew for a bit while mom takes a shower. XD )

Lucas groaned as he was caught by his Master. His wings folded gently behind him, yet one of them was a little sore from hitting something on impact. "Im alright." He said softly. Stilling at the words from the man, his eyes widened. How had he defied his Master? His confused gaze lifted to the man. "I would never on purpose, Master..." He had not noticed the clothes that his Master had laid out for him that night.

Listening to them as he shifted a bit, letting his gaze move around the area. It was a good thing he wasn't human, the climate here would of caused him to be very uncomfortable otherwise. But still, he was a youngling that had not gotten the chance to explore anywhere before. This area was new to him, and he was itching to explore it. Hearing that this place wasn't for a vampire either, he stilled. Great... another place that could cause trouble for him.

His gaze snapped towards Victor as things turned serious, narrowing his eyes at the words he heard. His body tensed as he could feel ill feelings from the man. But it was a hand on his shoulder that caused him to relax a moment. "No." He said before turning away to look at the area.

Remus hadn’t noticed the exchange that had passed between Victor and his fledgling, his mind being swept away with old memories he had put to rest after Aleixo’s death. Frustrated with Gregori’s heartless comment, he snapped at his fellow Vampyre. “Don’t talk crap. Of course this place is good enough for a Vampyre. Our kind can live nywhere it desires to. Nearby here is an indigenous tribe which we’ll be able to feed off. The vegetation should conceal us well until we decide what’s best to do. There are some old stone temple ruins hidden in between the foliage some way off. From the top, we’ll be able to have a good look around. I suggest one of us heads over right after we’ve set up our camp to be on the lookout.”

Having said that, Remus smartly began to march off into the dark green. The sounds of the Rain Forest filled his ears and he smiled, feeling at peace with himself. As Victor stepped directly behind him before Lucas could, Gregori and his Sire bringing up the rear, Remus led the way towards the tumbled and desolate seeming stone building that had once been a small scintist observation building. After a fire, the walls were charred, the roof had holes and the jungle plants had tried to eat their way through, but that didn’t bother Remus, since the abode he and Aleixo had created lay beneath the crumbling ruins. Finding the large, oddly smooth oval shaped stone that Aleixo had carved himself, Remus ran a hand over his tenderly, his eyes faraway.

Lucas lowered his gaze as he followed after his Master and Victor. He wasn't entirely sure about this place, but it was safe... or that what they thought anyways. After they made their way towards the place they had been traveling to, he looked around the area. His gaze darting around, he paused after a long moment. He needed room, and that's just what he was going to do. Taking off quickly after the others had turned around to inspect the place.

Darting off a little farther away from the place before he stopped in front of a beautiful pool of water. A waterfall cascaded its way down into the pool and a hidden cave behind it. He smiled at the look of the place he found. Making his way towards the cave, he slipped behind the water and into it. His gaze lifted to the glittering gems that were placed in crevasses of the walls. Turning his gaze to the back of the cave, raising a brow as he moved closer noticing something sparkling not like the gems in the cave.

Kneeling down and reaching behind a decent size rock as he pulled up an old book that held an interesting cover on it. But it was locked. The lock on it looked old, but it was glowing a slight blue color. Noticing that this was not a normal book, he wondered if he should just put it back.

“And? Walkting down memory lane?” Victor asked acerbically, succeeding in pulling Remus out of his reverie. Blinking and then frowning accusingly at his old friend, Remus snapped his fingers. Both of them then crouched down and taking a hold of the heavy stone, clenched their teeth as they shoved it partly off the entrance to the underground cave that Remus and Aleixo had constructed several decades before. His crimson eyes flashing darker, he used hisspecialy powers to light up the old, cobwebby candles that had been set up around the cellar.

Dameon critically looked around the new abode, his disapproving eyes finding aspects that he didn’t one hundred percent approve of. Aside from the underground cellar being dusty and stuffy, only three quarters were made up of concrete-one entire wall was made up of dried up clay. It wouldn’thide theirvampyric scent for long and this was something that would have to be changed. Striding around the perimeter of the surprisingly roomy underground hideout while Remus and Gregori set about setting up sleeping quarters for everyone, Dameon shook his head when he found a discarded dagger. Picking it up, he examined it closely, realizing it was a relict from the days of the Final War.

Leaving Gregori to decide how best to use the dried leaf wall to grant him some privacy, Remus strode right to the back of the cellar. That was where his and Aleixo’s bed had been and it had been built inside the largest opening. Unlike the rest of the underground hideout, it contained walls and a door of concrete steel. Anyone trying to get inside would have enormour problems, but like a human war bunker, it would keep the inhabitants safe, which was exactly what Remus needed for Lucas.

Lucas. All of a sudden, Remus whirled around, realizing that he could no longer sense his companion. “Lucas? “he called, his voice taut with tension as he expectantly awaited an answer, but none came. “Lucas? Lucas!” he shouted angrily, rushing back into the central room, where now Gregori and Dameon turned to him, their eyes sharp. “Have either of you seen Lucas?” Remus asked, telling himself not to panic. It couldn’t be- Lucas had been practically behind him; how on earth could he have disappeared without Remus having realized it? And why hadn’t Lucas remained close by his side? Hadn’t it been obvious that he needed to remain close to Remus at such a dangerous time?

“More to the point,” Dameon retorted, his face darkening as the three of them jumped out the cellar hole. “Where is Victor?”

Ah... Hope you enjoy this lil twist. *Smirk* )

Lucas' gaze stayed on the book in his hands, as if he could not make up his mind on putting it back or if he needed to take it back to Remus. But he felt something pulling at him towards the book, as if he were unable to put it back in its place. Confused and unable to make up his mind, he closed his eyes.

He had been careless, not aware of anything around him in the cave. A hand that touched his shoulder caused him to become startled and still to his spoke. Not daring to look behind him to see who had found him in such a place that he was sure had been abandoned.

"Dragonslayer..." The voice cut through the silence like glass, but no emotion could be told from that voice.

Lucas stilled even more as his eyes widened and he almost dropped the book before clinching at it tightly. Who... how? Spinning around to the one that was behind him, gulping a moment. Once his eyes landed on the man, his mind was in shock. He had only seen this man in vision's, never thinking that he was real. Yet... he knew just who this man was. He began to wonder just how Remus would react to seeing him once again... Alexio.

A choked noise left him for a short moment before he found his voice. "H-How? How are you alive?" He choked out, everyone had known that Alexio had died. Some of them had even seen his death.

"A fatal wound... Can be healed just as a minor one can youngling. You can thank the ancients for that. I have been asleep for years, healing from that great battle." Alexio said clearly.

Lucas shook his head. "But... why come to me? Why not my Master... He would be happy to see you again." He said softly.

Stop smirking- you'll get wrinkles. Aside from that, it's uncannily freaky how you seem to read my mind )

Remus flew out the cellar, followed closely by Dameon and Gregori. Breathing in deeply, Remus finally succeeded in taking a small whiff of his lover’s scent. “That way!” he pointed with a snarl, leaning forward into the wind. Blurring, he vanished, moving at a speed that wasn’t visible to human beings.

It was when he and Dameon were one hundred meters from the secret hideout that a scent Remus had believed to never again be able to smell again hit him. The unexpected force that hit him caused him to stumble and he fell badly, hearing Dameon slam to a startled stop as he let out a low, astonished gasp. Closing his eyes as he unsuccessfully tried to protect his face from the thorny shrubs, Remus felt invisible psychic vines wrapping themselves around his body, preventing him from moving. Opening his mouth to scream, something invisible, yet with a liquid feeling, descended into his mouth, forcefully blocking off his scream and rendering him mute and useless. Lucas! he attempted to scream struggling, but his attempts were futile. LUCAS!!! But again, it was as if his mind powers were being kept beneath an invisible cheese cover: no sound left him and no signal could reach him.

Aleixo, Dameon gasped as Gregori reached him, tripping over Remus, who was staring blindly into the green Rain Forest around him, but in a way that would have made a mortal cringe away in fright. Dameon shook his head. How was this possible? He had seen Aleixo die- he had been present when it had occurred! But this scent- Dameon would have recognized his former fellow Ancient. Turning to Remus, Dameon’s throat became dry, recognizing immediately what was happening. It was Aleixo who was preventing his fledgling from approaching. This could only mean one thing.

“Remus? Hey, Remus!” Gregori tried to shake him, swearing as he jerked his hand away as if burned. “Dameon, something’s wrong with-”

Run,” Dameon commanded in a low hiss. “Immediately- the boy is in mortal danger.”

Aleixo had picked up Remus’s scent long before his fledgling had stepped into their old abode. As he slowly stepped closer to Lucas, eyeing the Dragonslayer calculatingly, his fangs elongated. It had been more than a century and a half that he had fed from his fledgling and eventually, if his plans went well, he would soon also be doing it again. Narrowing his eyes slightly, Aleixo had to smile inwardly. The young fledgling in front of him was definitely the work of his lover- the same scent, the clothes. Well, well, well, what a lucky twist: his own fledgling had found the most important being of all times. How Aleixo wished it had been anyone else.

“You’re referring to Remus,” he responded to Lucas’s questions, his eyes running over the quivering white wings of the handsome young vampire. He arched an eyebrow. “Yes, I have no doubt that Remus would love to see me again and, when I’m done with you, I will return to him. It’s also obvious that, my being his Master, I can make it so that he would forget you easily. Oh, you don’t seem to believe me,” he remarked, smirking as he slowly closed the distance between himself and Lucas. Tilting his head to the side, he gestured to the Rain Forest around them.

“Don’t you think it’s too much of a coincidence that now of all times, when you and your little group of confederates have realized just exactly what you’re up against, that Remus, who supposedly loves you so much, would have brought you here, to this very place where I have been hiding for so many decades? And that, once he realized that you’d left his side, Remus wouldn’t run after you and also isn’t coming right now? Do you see him?” he taunted, cupping a hand behind his ear and pretending to listen carefully. “Or, perhaps hear him?” He waited for a dramatic moment before tutting and shaking his head with mock-sadness. “I’m very sorry, but it doesn’t seem as if you dear Master is coming to save you. And you know why?” he asked, leaning in for the kill.

Raising his hand and suddenly gripping Lucas’s neck in a vice-like grip, he brought Lucas’s face close to his. Smiling evilly, Aleixo revealed his elongated fangs. “Let me spell it out for you, Dragonslayer. You have been betrayed. The Master you so passionately love, has actually been working together with me all this time. Remus really and truly only loves me, not you. And, as I commanded it, he brought you here to me.”

*Chuckles softly* It is but one of my special gifts. XD You get use to it after a while. O.O that was mean. poor Remus and Lucas. Didn't realize he was going to be so mean. lol.)

Lucas' face turned into confusion very quickly to the one talking in front of him. Something seemed to click in his mind at the words of his Master being spoken about. Finding out that he was not trusting this man in the least bit. Narrowing his eyes as they began to glow a bit. Hid mind reaching out for his Master, he felt something... but he wasn't sure exactly what was going on. The man had not answered him back.

Lies... A slow deep hiss escaped his lips. He knew Remus would never leave him like that, his Master had promised that he wouldn't leave him. Not after knowing what could happen if he did. His body tensed as Alexio leaned towards him, seeing the obvious threat that was coming. "LIES!" he growled out at the man.

He bend down to take off, but was not quick enough before the ancient grabbed his neck. Narrowing his now blackened gaze at the man that had him in his gasp. Clinching his teeth tightly, as the words came from him. No... He wouldn't believe that. "You lie... And once he finds out just what you are doing here, He will only damn you to hell..." He hissed the words out in the man's face.

Once he had said what he wanted, fire engulfed himself causing Alexio's hand to burn a little and snarled as he was let go. He took that chance to get away from the man, kneeling down quickly before he took off out of the cave. His wings spreading out to catch air and lift him up farther off the ground. His dark gaze scanning the area. -Master...- He whispered into Remus' mind.

Spotting where Dameon and the rest was at, he still had not felt his Master. Darting off towards them, he did not faulter as he spotted his Master as soon as he lowered himself towards the ground. Darting to his Master after noticing the complications. Grabbing ahold of him as he darted them back a little, landing softly as he lifted his gaze towards the man's. A soft growl leaving him as he lifted his hand to Remus' face. "This may hurt a little." He whispered softly before he closed his eyes as they began to glow fiercly.

Moments ticked by before he pulled his hand away taking ahold of what looked like a black substance from the man. Tossing it away, he frowned after a long moment opening his eyes. They were still pitch black, and that was not a good sign. Not for him... Had the darkness started to spread to the heart?

Trust me, it's going to get worse. Mwuahahaha...)

Remus screamed louder than ever before in his undead life, yet it was in vain. He had never felt so furious, yet at the same time so helpless as he did right then. Struggle and twist as he might want to, he never so much as moved an inch. He was trapped, caught inside a cocoon that he, for some reason or other couldn’t escape from.

No, not for some reason or other. Without anyone needing to spell this out for him, Remus understood what was happening, even though it almost hurt too much to admit it. His beloved Aleixo had returned from the dead. Only that that was impossible. As he lay there, immobilized and wretched, Remus knew that what he was feeling wasn’t a spell cast by anyone else but by his master. He had lived half his undead life with Aleixo and knew his master’s scent well. No one, aside from an Ancient, and only one with considerable power, would be able to o fully control and subdue him as he was right then. And if such a thing could only be done by his former master, then that had to mean that Aleixo had never died.

He’s one of Them. One of the Traitors. But could that really be? Could Aleixo of all beings have been following a secret agenda that included aiding the Lycan Ancient?

Even though both Gregori and Dameon were trying their best to rid him of his invisible bonds, Remus took no notice. His insides were in turmoil, shocked by the depth of his realization. Lucas was probably at the hands of his master and he wasn’t doing anything to help him. The furious bellows that came from Dameon as he cast spell after spell upon him, trying to diminish the powerful hold that had taken possession of Remus, didn’t reach him, but then a voice suddenly did.

Master…

It was Lucas! Remus’s pained eyes widened a fraction as he heard his fledgling’s voice and then, moments later, he was swept into his fledgling’s arms. Remus wanted to let out a sigh of relief- his Lucas was there, he was alright, but no, something was wrong. Lucas’s hand was a little too hot and then, Remus only felt pain. Clenching his eyes tightly shut, Remus tried to break away from the intense heat that seemed to be burning him. Images of the encounter that had taken place between his fledgling and master flashed before his eyes, seemingly crippling him. Opening his mouth wider, the scream that he had been trying to let out minutes before finally broke free as the psychic prison that had wrapped itself around him broke away. “…AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!” he bellowed, struggling to smash his arms outwards, his chest expanding as he took in the breath of air he didn’t physically need, but mentally required.

“He’s back!” Gregori breathed out in relief and beside him, Dameon puffed his cheeks out, whirling around at the enraged, animalistic howl that went up in the direction in which Aleixo had been. “Sire, was that-?”

“Yes,” Dameon hissed, his eyes darkening as he began to chant incantations in the Ancient Language. “Lend me your power, Childe- we’re about to get attacked again.” Where the hell was Victor now of all times?

Able to finally sit up again, Remus turned to Lucas gratefully, only to see that his fledgling’s eyes were fully black. That couldn’t mean anything good. As the first blast of psychic power hit the protective shield that Dameon was trying to create around them, Remus hugged Lucas to his chest, kissing his fledgling’s hair. “Lucas, it’s not true,” he swore, panting as he bit into his own lip to release his blood. “Lucas, I love only you. I had no idea that Aleixo was here- I believed he was dead. Lucas, don’t give in to the darkness within you. That’s not you- if you give in, all is lost and you and I can never be together. Please Lucas, drink my blood and taste my emotions. Please- please, don’t give in. I need you. I love you- Lucas, don’t fall for the seduction, please!” he begged, tilting Lucas’s head up and lowering his own head, kissed his fledgling hard, forcing his own blood down Lucas’s throat.

Lucas didn't focus on anyone except Remus. His dark eyes darting between them. Being hugged and kissed only caused a slight stirring in himself. The words that were spoke seemed to not even register in his mind. Yet it was when his head was tilted up and he was kissed, the blood being forced into his mouth. His eyes fluttered closed at the taste. He could tell his Master spoke the truth. A loud gasp was heard from him as his eyes fluttered open to their bright icy color once the kiss was broken. His wings trembling in fear as his fearful gaze lifted to his Master. "No... I will not let him take you from me..." He said.

Gregori had nodded towards his Master, taking a deep breath and releasing it as his power was transferred between the two of them. He knew that Dameon was strong enough to go head to head against Alexio, but wasn't so sure he would come out alive.

Lucas gulped a moment as he lifted the book in his hands and pushed it into Remus' hands before he turned around. Looking around, he noticed the shield was not going to hold up to long. And Dameon was not at top strength to defend them all. He had to think quickly... what could he do to remedy them from Alexio's power?

He knew that Remus didn't want him going anywhere near the danger, but it looked like the danger had found them instead. He had no choice. This man wanted him... Well by hell, he would get what Lucas could deal to him. Betraying them, he would not tolerate that. A slow deep hiss escaped him as he stared out at the area. "Fine..." He growled. "If this is what he wants.. to destroy me... He has another thing coming." He murmured. THe problem was... he needed to think up a plan.

Sorry, I think the last sentence has a German sentence structure...it doesn't quite sound right. Hehe, have fun with this one )

Victor, who had meant to follow Lucas when the youngest fledgling had slipped off to discover his new surroundings, had witnessed everything from a safe distance. Of course he had seen Aleixo arrive and had frozen up in fear when Aleixo had slowly turned his red eyes on him, letting Victor know that he had been spotted. But since Aleixo hadn’t come after him, Victor had understood that he wasn’t considered a threat to the Ancient. It hadn’t been difficult to guess what Remus’s master would want from the boy and with his hopes rising, Victor had waited, expecting anything…just not Luas being able to leave the cave alive and well.

As he heard Gregori and Dameon trying to build up a shield to defend their fallen comprade and Lucas from the ensuing attack, pure hatred filled up within Victor. Remus ought to have been his. Aleixo had promised him that if anything happened to him, Victor would be the Vampyre that Remus would turn to, but instead, Remus had created himself a new companion. And now, instead of Lucas falling at the hand of the man who controlled Remus, he had flown out like a bloody angel from hell without a scratch.

Dameon had asked him to fully make up his mind on which side he stood on. Well, in that instance Victor did.

Appearing inside the cave as Aleixo eventually succeeded in putting out the sticky and health-consuming fire Lucas had let loose on him, Victor held up his hands in a peaceful gesture when Aleixo hissed, about to volley a wall of unadulterated psychic power at him, which would surely have killed him. “Don’t. Use me,” Victor said instead, reaching up to his throat to slit it open in various places. The wounded Ancient’s eyes glowed a ravenous red as the smell and sight of the much-needed healing liquid. “Take my blood and be done with that boy. Get rid of him. I’m sick of this life, so put it to proper use.”

Dameon caught the scent and distracted for a moment, let his concentration slip. “Victor-NO!!” he bellowed, meaning to run forward to prevent the senseless act, wanting to warn Victor that he wasn’t acting of his own accord, but simply being manipulated by the other Ancient, but Gregori held him back, his eyes misting over. “It’s too late- he’s gone,” he said in a low voice, stemming his feet harder into the ground. “Lucas, do something- Aleixo’s got his powers back again,” he warned, turning his back on Remus, which was a mistake.

Come to me, Remus, the only voice Remus wasn’t able to deny suddenly boomed alluringly inside his head. Come to me, my fledgling. I need you- come to me.

With a strangled gasp, Remus watched in horror as, from within the powerful shield that Dameon and Gregori had been trying to build, his right hand silently began to raise itself without his wanting it to. And then, as he screamed out a warning, his hand shot out and as his fingernails lengthened, he buried his hand inside Dameon’s chest. “NO!

“Dameon!” Gregori gasped, whirling around to Remus in shocked disbelief. “Remus, what the fu-!?” he began to rage, letting go of the chant that Dameon had started to create as his Sire fell to his knees, rasping in pain. The shield disintegrated momentarily before Dameon found the strength to uphold it again, but in those precious seconds where it vanished, Remus left the safetly that had been set up for him.

His crimson eyes turning to catch Lucas’s icy stare, he only managed a croak of horror. “Lucas, I didn’t mean to. I can’t-” And then he was suddenly flying, flying backwards and away from his beloved Lucas, backwards towards his long believed to have died master.
