The nurse's lips twitched when he saw Lucas' warm smile, returning the gesture without even noticing he had done so. "Water is fine," he said, wanting to wait until the blonde was sitting before he tried the food.

Lucas smiled and nodded as he poured some water into two glasses. He gave one to Bo and took the other for himself as he sat down across off him. The tall male let out another warm smile as he looked at the nurse and sighed softly. “Tell me about your family~“ He asked softly as he watched the other carefully.

Bo took a sip of the water, swishing it around in his mouth due to a habit he had developed over the years before swallowing. He looked across the table at Lucas and tilted his head slightly. "Why do you want to know about them? They don't do anything interesting."

Lucas smiled and chuckled as he shook his head. “I'm just curious.“ He said softly with a warm smile on his face as he let out a soft hum. “I mean, they still are your parents - and I find you rather interesting, so I'm hoping your parents are too. Just tell me something about them~“ The blond asked softly as he smiled and kept his brown eyes on the other.

Bo paused, looking thoughtful, blue eyes staring at the glass in his hands, watching as the water rippled. "Um...well, they spend most of their time working, like I've said before...they don't really have time for friends or family. Actually...I'm surprised they even had a child."

Lucas blinked and let out a soft chuckle as he looked at the young nurse with soft eyes. "How come? Do you feel like they didn't pay enough attention to you?" He asked softly as he smiled warmly while sipping his own glass of water.

"They didn't, but I never really minded." He wasn't sure if he was lying or not; he had put a lot of thought into his feelings for his parents but had never been able to come to a conclusion. "I liked being alone. But I only saw them once a week, sometimes less. I could buy whatever I wanted, though." An almost bitter smile appeared on his face.

Lucas smiled softly and a bit sadly as he listened and sighed out softly. “And now? Do you see them at least sometimes?“ He asked softly as he let out a hum before taking a piece of the cheese and putting it into his mouth. He closed his eyes just to enjoy the taste as he sighed out softly. It truly was good... He loved it since he was a child!

Bo watched him eat a bit of the cheese and his smile was real this time; he found it sweet for some reason. "No, I haven't seen them in a few years now. They pay for college, but that's it." He took another sip of the water.

Lucas blinked and frowned slightly as he sighed softly. “Really? Wow, I'm... Sorry to hear that.“ He said with a frown as he ate another piece of the cheese. “So wait. You work as a nurse and at the same time you go to college, right?“ He asked while tilting his head to the right. With a smile, he pushed the plate with cheese closer to the other as if encouraging him to eat.

Bo returned the smile; Lucas wasn't the first to tell him they were sorry, but with the blonde it seemed more genuine, so he was not offended. He took a small piece of the cheese. "Yeah, that's right. I have classes in the mornings and shifts at night." He put the cheese in his mouth and found that he liked the way it tasted.

Lucas let out a small smile as he watched the other. “Isn't that a lot? I mean, you must get tired from both studying and taking care of patients, right?“ He asked softly as he looked at Bo before taking a sip of his water. “What do you study, anyway? Medicine?“

"It's not too much," he reassured the blonde. "I don't have a ton of time to go out, but that was never really my thing anyway, so it works out well." He wasn't very hungry, so he left the rest of the cheese for Lucas. "And yes, medicine, generally the same courses a doctor would take."

Lucas smiled as he nodded at the other's words. "Ah, I see." He said simply as he ate another piece of the cheese. The blond sighed sofly as he leaned back against the chair, looking at Bo with sharp, brown eyes. "Have you always wanted to do something with medicine? With helping people?"

"After my uncle died, yes. I don't remember what I wanted to do before then. I was really young when he passed away." He had been closer to his uncle than anyone else. His parents and friends always came second when his uncle was involved. Even when invited over a friend's house he would stay home if his uncle was there to watch him.

Lucas blinked, his eyes saddeninng visibly. “I'm sorry to hear that...“ He said softly as he let out a sad smile. The blond felt like it was time he stopped asking so many questions - he didn't want to make the other one uncomfortable... And besides, maybe Bo had some questions of his own.

Bo smiled at Lucas, feeling strangely warmed by the apology; it seemed to carry more weight than what others had said to him, especially at the funeral--his parents had only stayed for ten minutes. "Thanks," he said quietly, crossing one leg over the other under the table. "So...how are your parents? Your mother sounded nice over the phone."

Lucas let out a light chuckle as he shook his head and smiled. “She usually is nice, but... Well, she found out about what I do, so I guess she's a bit shaken.“ He said quietly, guilt in his voice as he looked at the glass in his hand. “And by the looks of it, she told my father as well. Usually he's, you know, a cheerful nice guy!“

Bo's eyes softened--by this point he knew that Lucas was not the type to join a gang willingly, as it was obvious in the way he spoke and acted--and he tilted his head slightly as he smile became a bit more reassuring. "They'll forgive you," he said, "it's what parents are supposed to do."

Lucas smiled softly as he looked up at Bo and chuckled. "Guess you're right..." He said softly as he shook his head and sighed, reaching out and putting another piece of the cheese into his mouth before shaking his head. "Anyway, do you want to do something? We could watch a movie- I have tons of DVD's!"

"What kinds of movies?" he asked curiously. Most of the movies he had watched had been superhero movies; he was a big comic book nerd, not that he would ever admit to it.

Lucas chuckled and shook his head. “I have everything from anime and romance to horror and action.“ The blond said with a chuckle as he smiled widely at Bo and stood up. “Come on, most of my movies are still in this house, let's go~“ He offered softly.

"Okay." Bo stood up, making sure to push in his chair and place his empty glass into the sink before following the blonde. He found that he was enjoying spending time with Lucas more than he would have thought. It was almost like he was with his uncle again. The feeling was very positive.

Lucas smiled softly as he gently gripped Bo's hand and walked off to his room, all the while humming softly under his nose. The blond kept his grip a bit loose so the nurse could've pulled away whenever he wanted - it was his own choice. The tall male sighed softly to himself as he reached his bedroom and smiled. “Here, all the movies are in that shelf - you can go and pick.“

The young nurse blushed when Lucas took his hand, and this time he didn't pull away. The blonde was much nicer than he had assumed, and maybe he was willing to give something more than a friendship a chance. "A-all right." he bent over to look through the shelves.
