Lucas' face was slowly filled with amusement as he watched the nurse trying to hide his embarrassment. The blond chuckled softly and nodded at Bo's words. "I know that much." He said with something close to teasing in his voice. He was starting to really like the reactions he got from Bo... "Why are you so nervous?" He finally asked softly, this time unable to stop himself from reaching out and running a hand over the other's red cheek.

Bo's body stiffened and his wide blue eyes stared up at Lucas' face. He swallowed, trying to form words, but there was a lump in his throat and his mind was going haywire, unsure of whether to pull away or lean forward. In the end he gently moved the blonde's hand away from his face and said in a strained voice, "I, um, h-have to do this now," he said, his gaze flickering to the burns.

A soft sigh left Lucas' mouth as his hand was removed. He nodded slightly at what the nurse said and smiled softly. "Alright, sorry." He said softly and moved his hands down behind his back, supporting his weigth a little bit. A small, soft smile stayed on his face as he closed his eyes and waited until Bo would take care of his burns. He'd grown to trust the boy rather quickly...

The younger man couldn't help but smile, appreciating how gentle the other was being. He scooped out some of the balm and gently began applying it to the burn on his chest, starting with the outside and moving in. When he was finished he ripped off a piece of tape and stuck it onto his palm to hold it while he unwound the bandages, starting the wrapping process.

Lucas let out a soft hum as he felt the palm being applied to his chest. The coldness was so good... The blond seemed to be relaxing even more as he let the other work without saying anything else. His brown eyes were still hidden by the lids, yet calmness still showed perfectly on his face. Bo was a great nurse, that was for sure... Even if he was a bit of a newbie.

Bo peeked up at Lucas from behind his bangs and his mood brightened when he saw how relaxed the other man looked. Another smile appeared on his face as he finished bandaging the wound on his chest. Once the bindings were tight enough, he stuck them together with the piece of tape and moved on to the burn on his hip. I wonder why he let his friends get him that tattoo, he thought when he noticed it again.

Lucas let out a breath and opened his eyes slightly, just staring at the wall in front of him. It felt really good to have his wounds bandaged up again... When the air wasn't touching them anymore, almost all pain seemed to be gone. It was far more pleasurable than the annoying pain he'd felt before. The blond looked over at Bo and studied his expression for a while. He seemed so focused...

After five or so minutes of the repeated process, Bo finished with the bandages and stood up. He went over to the sink and returned the supplies to their places, making sure to wash the excess balm off of his hands. He looked back at Lucas while he was drying his hands and smiled. "So...do you need anything else?" He wanted to ask why the blonde wanted to be friends with him and possibly inquire as to where they would go to spend time together, but he couldn't find the words nor the confidence.

Lucas smiled and shook his head at the other's question. "No, I think I'm good." He said softly and ran a hand through his blond hair before reaching out for his gown. The tall male put it on rather slowly as he stood up to button it, yet his brown eyes didn't seem to leave Bo. A smile stayed on his face as the blond thought about the meeting with the nurse that would happen some time later... And then it hit him. What if he was going to go to prison instead?..

Bo was feeling slightly giddy and rather excited, so he didn't notice Lucas' sudden pause. "O-okay...well, I guess I'll leave you to rest. I just have to clean up the bathroom first." He went to the small connected room and began wiping up the floor with an extra towel, making sure to put away the supplies that were in the tub and on the sink. He would need to get fresh towels from the storage room to hang on the wall as well.

Lucas managed to smile softly again and nodded slightly. “Alright... Thanks.“ He said softly before walking over to the bed and getting into it. His brown eyes slowly closed up as his thoughts drifted to his mother, his gang, his little sister and Bo. The nurse seemed to be taking up more and more space in his mind lately. Maybe it was just simple curiousity... Or maybe it was something more.

He took his time cleaning the bathroom, allowing himself to think things through. He wondered about his potential friendship with Lucas most of all. The blonde man was kind and gentle, and even though Bo was only a trainee he said that he was a good nurse. Remembering the praise caused butterflies to flutter around in the auburn-haired man's stomach. he let out a quiet sigh, a small smile on his face, and stood up from the floor, throwing the used towel into the bin to be picked up later.

Lucas began humming unconsciously - something he oftenly did whilee thinking. The blond kept his eyes closed as an old melody flowed from his mouth in soft voice, even if it was only a hum. He really wished he had his guitar right now... The hospital was a bit boring. The brown-eyed male continued humming as he waited for something he didn't know himself. Maybe he was just waiting for the police now... Though honestly, there was something else... He just couldn't figure out what.

Bo hesitated by the end of Lucas' bed, biting his lip as he watched the older man and listened to him hum. he was tempted to say something, but didn't want to ruin his peaceful state or cause any awkwardness. So he sighed inwardly and went to the door, unlocking it and stepping into the hallway. "Call for me if you need me," he whispered before closing the door.

Lucas blinked and opened his eyes when he heard Bo's whisper. He smiled and nodded before closing his eyes again. The blond laid there peacefully, his humming slowly quieting down until it finally disappeared completely and the man fell asleep. The brown-eyed male had a peaceful expression on his face as he slept, and he didn't wake up till very evening. Usually he wouldn't sleep that long... Guess the injuries took their toll on him after all.

At the time Lucas woke, Bo was sitting at the desk of the nurses' station, taking calls and writing down appointment times. With his elbow on the desk and his chin in his hand, he tapped his pen on the side of his head as he waited for the hone in front of him to ring. He found it strange that the other nurses were getting more calls than he was; it was as if the telephone lines knew that he was a novice and were trying to avoid him.

Lucas yawned softly and looked around, his brown eyes still filled with sleepiness and half-lidded. The blond stretched as much as the burns let him, and still flinched in pain when the burn on his chest reminded him of its presence. Lucas sighed softly and ran a hand through his hair as he stared at the wall inn front of him. He was a bit hungry... Maybe he should call Bo?.. With a small smile, the tall male reached out for the device, yet stopped himself on the last moment. This would be selfish of him...

Bo jumped when a hand suddenly landed on his shoulder, causing him to accidentally fling the pen he had been holding; it flew across the station and hit the wall. A few nurses behind him snickered while another few glared. His face took on a light pink blush--not as dark as the blushes Lucas gave him--and turned around, coming face to face with a grinning Dr. Phillis. "Heh, so how are you doing, Mr. Riley? Having fun yet?"

Lucas glanced around the room before running a hand through his hair. Really, he was getting hungry... Maybe it wouldn't hurt to call Bo? Then he'd also get to see him... Wait, why was that so important to him? The blond tilted his head to one side as he thought about it and let out a sigh when everything came to the big picture. How stupid of him to get a bit more than a friendly liking to the nurse....

The auburn-haired man forced a smile, embarrassment and surprise still clear on his face. "Um, y-yeah..." His blush deepened when the doctor laughed, patting him on the shoulder once again.

 

"Well, that's great to hear. Walk with me?" Bo tilted his head in question but stood, following Dr. Phillis out of the nurses' station and down the hall. "So, tell me, do you really like working here?" the young nurse frowned, not understanding; why would the doctor think that he wasn't enjoying working at the hospital?

 

"Of course I am..."

Lucas drummed his fingers against the bed edge as he thought about just what he felt towards the other. It was rather unusual for him to like a person this much when he'd just met him... Just what caused this? The blond bit his lower lip and sighed as his fingers once again traveled to the tattoo which reminded him that having a relationship would be really stupid of him. His partner would be in constant danger... He didn't want that.

Dr. Phillis simply nodded, saying nothing for a while. The atmosphere around the two of them was making Bo uncomfortable. He wondered if he had done something wrong, and panic filled his chest. "U-um, doctor--" The older man raised a hand to silence him. When their eyes met, Dr. Phillis was smiling, much to the nurse's surprise.

 

"Don't worry, Mr. Riley, you're not in trouble." He laughed when he saw the blue-eyed man visibly relax. "I just wanted to make sure that you were comfortable here."

Lucas sighed again and closed his brown eyes back up. The man didn't know how he should deal with this... It would be best to just forget about the other, but as long as he was in the hospital, it would be near impossible. Bo was his personal nurse, after all... And he was so gentle, so caring! The man really wouldn't want to drag him into what was happening around him. He didn't want anybody getting hurt because of him... He just wanted to get out of the stupid gang, even though that was impossible.

Bo tilted his head slightly. "Oh, well, yes, I am. Everyone here is friendly." The black-haired man fixed his wide smile on the younger.

 

"Wonderful! Then...perhaps, when you graduate from medical school, you can work here full-time?" Big blue eyes widened, and Bo stared at the man in shock.

 

"R-really?" He was being offered a job?

Lucas ran a hand through his hair and opened his eyes once again, staring at the wall in front of him. No matter how hard he tried, the blond couldn't stop the need of seeing the nurse again... Really, he was such an idiot for letting this happen. And he even offered Bo to meet up when he was able to leave the hospital! What a moron...
