Masaki did not send for a meal this time. He simply sat in the tub, thinking about his actions. His powers were truly enigmatic. They seemed to act like a lie detector when it was most important for him to tell the truth. Now that he admitted to lying about a small part of his life to Hiroki, the prince felt an added pressure to be honest with him. This was the first friend he had in a while, and he didn't want to lose him on the first date. After soaking for a while, he got out and dried himself, going directly to bed. He was too tired from fighting with his feelings, and now that he was no longer conflicted, he could rest easy.

Hiroki slept well into the afternoon. He awoke only to panic. He had no sense of time since he hated watches and clocks. Quickly getting up he rushed out his house and down a path that led to a waterfall. He instantly dives in and enjoys the shock of coldness on his skin. It was the perfect way to wake himself up. Once returning to the surface of the water he sighs. "That was refreshing. I do hope I am not late for my date. That would be terrible on my behalf." he mutters softly

Masaki slept like a baby the last night. He woke up early, feeling very refreshed. He opted not to take a bath and went for the shower instead so he wouldn't be late. After showering he headed out of the royal palace and to the gate of the marketplace. He sat on a bench, waiting for Hiroki.

Eventually getting out the water, Hiroki returned home and got ready. He fixed his hair before heading into town. As he got to the marketplace, his eyes scan the area for Masaki. Upon seeing the male he quickly approaches. "Sorry I took so long. I over slept. Haven't a slept like that in a long time." he admits a bit nervously. He's never spent time with anyone like this before. It was new for him.

"It's fine." Masaki said, understanding how it felt to finally get sleep after a long time of not having sleep. "So, where do you want to go? Does walking around town sound good to you?"

Masaki had to force himself to think more simply since it seemed that the glitz and glamor of the royal life wasn't what Hiroki was necessarily interested in. To get to know someone, he figured that he'd need less distractions, and walking around with someone was one way to keep focus on that person.

"Walking about is good for me. I can get you to talk and tell me about the real you." Hiroki said looking at him. He was curious to learn about this false prince. It was enough to get him excited about something other than his plants for once. His mind was on this date and how it would progress from here on out. "Shall we be on our way?" he asked

"O-Okay." Masaki said, getting up. He now had to spill everything to Hiroki. It was like the price he had to pay for his affection, it seemed. As much as he hated having to confront the past, he had to do so to keep himself on good terms with Hiroki.

"So... What to talk about first?" he said.

"Let's start with your name. Is Masaki really your name? After that I want to know the kind of demon you are." Hiroki said looking at the sky. He was glad it was a nice day out. He'd hate for it to rain so suddenly. His eyes narrow as he waits to hear what the boy would tell him. He decided to make things a bit fair. "You can ask me questions as well. It wouldn't be fair for you to do all the talking on this date."

"Of all the lies I've told, my name has never been one of them. My name really is Masaki. I am a demon called a tsukumogami. Tsukumogami are youkai created from usually discarded items. This usually occurs after 100 years of being discarded. However, a witch found the headphones I was made from and performed an arcane spell on them, speeding up the process. She was killed a little bit after I was 'born' for witchcraft." Masaki said, feeling a little uncomfortable. "Are you really the last remaining plant demon? I would've thought that there were more than just you."

Hiroki listens to Masaki glad he was at least honest just once with him. "So a yokai type demon...? Interesting." he mutters as he narrows his eyes. "Yes I am really the last of my kind. I dislike feeling enclosed and smothered. I hate cages and dislike being alone. Despite all that I killed every last one of them and thus created my own world of loneliness. Oh and please don't call me a plant demon. As much as the plants are drawn to be that isn't my main ability. Its just one of many. If I kill I can obtain that person's abilities." Hiroki said

"You... killed all of your clan members? I honestly don't know what it's like living with a clan since a witch created me, but I understand what it's like to be lonely, and not just on the level of 'I want a spouse'." Masaki said. "A lot of people made fun of my appearance, and many demons wouldn't accept me as their peer."

So I was wrong earlier. I thought that they died off slowly because of hostile tendencies, but him killing off his clan? That's not something you see everyday. He's interesting~ the prince thought.

"Yes. I don't like cages. As the saying goes; treat one like and animal and that's what they become." Hiroki said looking up at the sky. He wasn't like many in his clan and for that he was often locked away from everyone and treated like a monster and abomination. In the end he supposed he proved them right in being just what they accused him of being. "Anyway they aren't around anymore and I don't think of them either. The glow of the plants around me have kept me company until now. See I have Masaki to keep me from being lonely, right." he said with a smile

Masaki smiled back, blushing a little.

"I don't think you are an animal. I think you're a kind person, and I'm glad that you're willing to at least try out a relationship since you're keeping me from being lonely too." he said, smiling softly.

Hiroki smiled as he looked at him. "I am only trying because I hate being lonely. You are also an interesting guy so I made the attempt. Besides, you are very cute." he said with a smile. His gaze drifts down as he begins to think. He wonders what other things can he learn about Masaki

"Cute? Me? Th-thank you..." Masaki blushed cherry red. He had never been called cute before. And seeing this change in Hiroki's personality was such a nice change as well.

"I-Is there anything else you want to know about me?" he asked.

"Yes you are cute. Don't make me repeat things. I find it a bit annoying." he mutters as he thinks.why are you looking for a bride? Is the reason before the truth or is there a different reason?" Hiroki asked looking back. He noticed some mortals glancing at them. They both were rather attractive and together it might have been overwhelming to the females around. "Masaki, let's find a place to sit and talk. I believe walking will cause unnecessary attention."

"Why don't we go to the outskirts of the town? There are a couple nice places to eat." Masaki said. "And to answer your question... I want to continue the royal legacy, even if I'm not a blood relative of the family. As prince, whoever elopes with me automatically becomes part of the royal family by marriage, much like I was."

Hiroki nods as he begins towards the outskirts of town. "Oh my, is that so. Its rather interesting in its own way. So if I marry you then I become royalty..? That's a bit too much for a simple guy like me but not tempting." he chuckled as he glanced over to Masaki.

"That's how it has always worked." Masaki said. "Though people take longer to respect you if they know you aren't from another royal family."

The prince smiled as they continued to walk farther from the town.

"Any other questions? I'll try to answer as honestly as I can, and if you think I'm lying, feel free to call me out on it." Masaki said.

"I said you can ask me things as well. If I only learn about you then isn't this one sided. Besides, I don't spend time around others. I need to think of what to ask next." he said pouting a bit. Hiroki felt as if Masaki didn't care to learn about him. It was a bit upsetting. Once on the outskirts of the town, Hiroki glanced around.

"Okay then... Do you have any hobbies?" Masaki knew that question was a little worn out from being cliched, but he had to think of something. He felt bad for being the one doing all the answering.

"Hobbies...? No not really. I enjoy long walks at night to gaze upon the glowing flowers." Hiroki said glancing down. He had to think of something else to ask. "I have heard of mortals celebrating their day of birth. Do you do that as well?" he asked curiously. Hiroki had always wanted to try such a thing at least once but it wasn't possible.

"Since I was made by a witch, I made up a fake birthday of March 27th to hide my true identity from the royal family, but I was actually created on July 20th. Now that they're all dead, I give anyone I meet who asks me about my birthday my actual creation date since there's no need to hide it anymore. I sometimes will do something special on July 20th if I'm feeling up to it." Masaki said. "Do you like celebrating the day of your birth?"

"Oh I will make note of such." he said with a smile. "I don't know. I have always been alone so I sought nothing of the such. I am interested in doing something on the day of my birth but not sure what. You should think of something for me. It would be nice." Hiroki said with a smile.

"I could take you out to one of my favorite restaurants. Its food is freshly prepared every day, but it doesn't get the attention it deserves. It didn't when the royal family was alive, and it still is very much under the radar in the village." Masaki said. "The Green Wiccan is what it's called. It's a demon-friendly restaurant in the nearby forest. I went there a lot growing up. While it seems ultra-vegan-friendly from the title, it has options for meat-lovers too. The green part of it is probably referring to the origins of its ingredients."
