Skin: Pale, smooth ivory, though in the summer it tans

Markings (Tattoos/Scars/Other): Has a tiny black dot at the outer corner beneath his right eye, and another dot by the left bottom corner of his lips. Also has a set of scars, one that looks like claw marks along his left shoulder blade, and a long thin one on his chest, going from his left collar bone, and curving over his stomach, down to the right side of his hips. Has a tiger tattoo on his right shoulder blade, with the Japanese Kanji for "Destiny of Fate" (Unmei no Unmei), the Japanese Kanji for "Snow" (Yuki) on his hip, and black angel wings on the back of his neck.

In the winter he wears a large black and red coat, a black knit hat, a black scarf, and gloves that are fingerless but have a flap on them that can cover the fingers.

Image: large.jpg

Personality: Has a cute, playful attitude, and is quite easy to get along with. He is very emotional however, and gets upset quite easily. He also would remind one of a cat, because he absolutely loves sleeping and taking naps, laying in warm patches of sun or curling up on his bed snuggled beneath his blankets. Even though he looks like someone who is Gothic, or emo, he is not, that's just the way he looks. In fact he is the very opposite, being bright, fun, and enjoyable. He also has a tendency to daydream a lot, spacing out in the middle of conversations, or falling asleep at random times.

Background: Zack is from Germany, moving to the America's when he was six years old, his mother and father having died when he was young. He moved here with his cousin, who grew up as his sister. She is three years older than him, and her name is Elisabeth. They live alone in a large house, with the "Butler" and "maid" who came to America with them. The Butler's name (funnily enough) is Sebastian (not to mention he kinda looks like Sebastian), who is in his late twenties, and the maid's name is Katelinna, nicknamed Kat by Zack, who is in her thirties.

Likes: Sweets, mainly cake and ice cream, kittens, bunny rabbits, snow, flowers (lilies, lilacs, and blue bells), the seasons of summer and winter, sleeping/taking naps, reading books, drawing/painting, watching movies and TV, writing poetry, playing with his cats Yin and Yang.

Dislikes: Spicy food, dogs (is deathly afraid of them), the dark, being in crowded places, deep water, storms, being alone

Likes many different type of anime. Can speak several different languages, including French, Italian, Japanese, Swedish, and of course German. Owns two fluffy cats, much like Maine Coones, one being white with a black ear, and bright Sapphire blue eyes, her name is Yin, and the other is black with a white tuft on his chest, and has dark emerald green eyes, his name is Yang. They both have matching ID tags, which are the yin and yang symbol, Yang's collar is white, and Yin's collar is black.

At the library, many people just go there for the books to read, or to study, or maybe just look around. Most people say that life changing events can't occur in such a place. But then there are those that believe anything can happen, anywhere, anytime, to anybody. And that's exactly how Zackariah Damon Weiss thought. He believed that the even the most amazing things could happen to those who believed.

Zack is a 17 year old high school student, but many mistake him for someone younger. Quietly he sits in a corner of the library, books surrounding him, standing in huge, towering stacks, of all types of genres, from fantasy, action, mystery and horror, to biographies, books on nature, science, history, and even manga of many genres. There was even a cookbook! Right at the moment he had a large leather book on his lap, and from the look of it, it was a book about Germany. He has a pair of reading glasses perched on his nose, intelligent and unique eyes could be seen behind them, as he had differently colored eyes. He was wearing a large sweater that was way too big on him, it hung off his shoulder, showing his bare skin beneath, as well as covering his hands, his fingertips barely see-able. With this he wore baggy jeans, and a pair of old converse.

A notebook sat next to him, which was open, showing large loopy and slightly sloppy handwriting, of notes that he had written. A pen was tucked behind his ear. Zack normally had a whole bunch of piercings, but today he only wore a single pair of small silver hoop earrings. Today was a casual day for Zack, as he was on spring break, and the library was one of his favorite places to go when he had nothing else to do. What he didn't know was that he was about to meet someone who would change his life forever.

Name: Patrick Hu

Nickname: Fatty Patty

Age: 19

Birthday: July 27th

Gender: Male

Nationality: Chinese

Sexuality: Heterosexual (or so he claims; he's more likely bisexual)

Position: Seme

Appearance:

Height: 5' 8"

Weight: 122 lbs

Eyes: dark brown; wears dark purple glasses

Hair: black; short

Skin: pale

Piercings: one earring on each ear

Scars: a faint old scar above right eye

Clothing: Likes t-shirts, sweaters, and sweatpants

Personality: Lazy - likes to sleep for long hours; selectively outgoing - will talk non-stop if the topic interests him; irritable - gets angry quickly but will also forgive just as quickly

Background: Patrick grew up in Canada. He lives with his mommy, his daddy, his older sister Janet who acts like a child, and a twin sister Amy who absolutely adores gay couples.

Likes: Just about anything cute - although cute is defined quite oddly

Dislikes: Heights

Extras: Can play the piano *cough* not very well but passable. Has obsessions with buying mystery books. Has a white cat with black ears and tail as well as a black spot on his back. His name is Jingle.

Patrick groaned as his mother called out to him, "Don't forget to pack a toothbrush, shampoo, some snacks, and bring an extra sweater, it's cold down there. Oh, you need toothpaste too." His mother was nagging again. He'd only be away for a week but his mother made it sound like he needed supplies for a year. And why in the world did he need another sweater? He already had three and was wearing one. His mom always thought it was cold, even if he was going south towards the equator during spring break.

"Mom, it's not going to fit. My suitcase is already too full." He rolled his eyes as his mother tried to cram in more stuff, insisting it would fit. To his surprise, it did. But the problem now was that it weighed more than a car. He was going down to Illinois to visit a friend for spring break and his mom was making a big deal out of it. "I'll be fine mom, relax."

On the other hand, his dad was complaining that he was over-packing. "What do you need that for? Just buy it there, it's not like you're going to the wild or anything." His parents were pestering him on both sides while his sisters sat on his bed watching the show and eating chips. His family was making such a big deal out of his trip, it was driving him crazy.

"Mom, stop it! He doesn't need that, do you think he's a kid? UGH!" Janet shouted. She was annoyed from all the nagging even though it wasn't directed at her.

A chip came flying at his face. "Here, say ah~. Oops, looks like I missed." Amy joked. Janet was the more childish of the two but that didn't mean Amy wasn't childish too. "Go bring back a boyfriend!" She was now shouting at him too. Amy had an obsession with gay couples and was trying to convince him to become gay like the men in her fantasies.

"I'm not gay, and I'm not going to bring back a boyfriend! Go make Wayne gay!" He had no idea why she couldn't just make her boyfriend gay. She'd kill two birds with one stone: make the man she "loved" hers and gay.

"Resistance is futile. It's gonna happen." She giggled.

"Oh no, you're going to be late. Hurry up! You need to get there early so you can sit closer to the front of the bus. The back of the bus will make you unwell." His mom was rushing him again. He sighed as he picked up his bags and headed for the car. They were going to the pick up spot two hours early... for the early bus. "Remember to call me when you get down there." His mom was way too worried about her nineteen year old. "Is Janet not coming?"

"No she's going out later."

"Again? She should come, the whole family should be there to send you off." His mother frowned. "Are you at least coming home for dinner?" She asked the sister.

"No, I'll be coming home late too." She replied to their mom but whispered to Amy, "Close my door later and pretend I came home." If his mom found out she didn't come home at night sometimes, she'd freak out.

Interestingly, the morning was hectic but the car ride there was silent. They arrived at the stop and he said his goodbyes before getting on the bus, sitting near the front so his mother wouldn't nag. It would be a long ride down, around half a day to drive straight from Toronto to East St. Louis but they'd be taking breaks occasionally. It would take up his entire day to get down there, arriving at probably 11pm.

-------------------

The ride was so tiring but he couldn't sleep a wink, the chair made his back too uptight. He arrived in America at night and was picked up by his friend Freddy. They went back to Freddy's place and he went straight to bed. He planned to go out tomorrow morning to the library. His friend had plans so he was going to venture to the place where he'd be in mystery heaven.

-------------------

In the morning, he pulled on a plain blue t-shirt and black skinny jeans. He preferred sweatpants but his mom had told him to pack something better looking. Stiffly, he made his way to the library and into the mystery aisle. Pulling out a random book, he took it to a seemingly unoccupied table covered in stacks of books. Patrick pulled out a chair and sat down with a thud. He put his legs up on the chair across the table. "Wait, what?" He peered under the table to find two legs covered in baggy jeans beneath his own. "I'm so sorry! I didn't know anyone was there." He stood up with a jolt and looked over the pile of books at a young blonde boy.

For a moment Zack was oblivious that another person had arrived, only when the person spoke did he look up, and was startled by the persons appearance. He jumps slightly, and as he did he accidentally knock some of the books over, sending them crashing to the floor, some falling on him as well. After the books stopped falling., he winces, rubbing the top of his head, and straightens his reading glasses, which had been knocked sideways.

Looking up to the new person, he smiles awkwardly, an embarrassed look on his face. "Hehe sorry about that!" He then gets down and starts to pick up the books that had fallen, stacking them neatly again. All the while he had a flustered blush on his cheeks.

Patrick stared at the surprised boy, bewildered by how adorable he was. The awkward and embarrassed look made him look so delicious. Wait, delicious? He'd never thought he would call a man delicious but this one was, with his flustered cheeks. He groaned to himself as he thought about his sister's warning yesterday morning. He could just hear her in his head, I told you so~ That would be the last thing he wanted but it was true, she did say he was bound to end up gay and it was coming partially true. The problem though was that he didn't think it'd happen so quickly if at all.

"So sorry, are you hurt?" He felt himself reaching out to touch the spot on the boy's head. He stopped himself just short of contact with the head. He might've come off as creepy if he had done such a thing so he backed off and bent down to help pick up the books. "You shouldn't be the one apologizing. It was my fault I startled you, so please don't be sorry!" He returned an apology as he lifted the stack of books onto the table. Changing the subject, he asked, "That's a lot of books you've got there, are you studying them all or are you just reading for fun?"

He helped pick the rest up before sitting himself back down. That book he'd picked out was not going to be a match in entertainment against the newly found subject of interest known as - wait, he didn't know the boy's name. With a smack to his forehead, Patrick asked apologetically, "Sorry, I didn't get your name. I'm Patrick, nice to meet you." He held out his hand for a shake with his greeting.

Glancing up, Zack smiles, and shakes his head, and replying with an "I'm fine.", before concentrating on picking the books up and placing them back on the table, not noticing when the other guy had been reaching towards his head. At the guys next words he giggles softly, and as he stacked the books he spoke. "I've been told I have a bad habit of over apologizing and over thanking...its just who I am...ya know?" He blushes again, and then notices the other was helping to pick up the books.

"Huh? Oh..." Zack smiles brightly, and laughs softly again. "Its just for fun reading...I am a big book worm..." He blushes brightly at this, as he runs his finger along one of the books spines, looking at it as if it were some kind of precious flower. When the books were all picked up, Zack sits down as well, and picks up the book on Germany again, opening it to the page he had left off on, and begins to read once more, but not for long.

Hearing a soft smack, he looks up to the person, who was looking at him with an odd expression. He raises an eyebrow, then blinks when the guy introduces himself, and holds his hand out to shake. For a moment Zack does nothing, as if he had zoned out, before blinking and smiling at the guy who had introduced himself as Patrick. "I'm Zackariah. But you can call me Zack." He reaches out, shaking back the sleeve that had been covering his hand, and takes a hold of Patrick's index, middle, and ring finger and shakes them. "It's nice to meet you as well."

He then reaches up and pulls his reading glasses off, folding them and setting them on the table. He had a feeling he wouldn't be needing those for a bit. Tilting his head to the side, he looks at Patrick, a look of concentration in his oddly colored eyes. "So....are you not from here? I don't think I've seen you here before, and I come here often..." Zack tilts his head to the other side, and before Patrick would realize it had happened, Zack was spacing out, and then, with a large yawn...falls asleep...sitting up...a goofy grin on his face.

(This actually happened before!)

"Zack," Patrick repeats with a smile. He began to reply to the conversant boy, "I'm not from around here. I'm from Toronto, just taking a trip here to visit a friend..." He paused as he watched the goofy grinning boy's head droop slightly. Is he... sleeping? Patrick continued talking in case his new friend wasn't, "You come here often?" He slowed to a pause and continued, "Does that mean you like books?" He watched the facial expression on Zack's face, trying to make out whether he was paying any attention. "Or does that mean you like donkeys?" He asked suspiciously. If the man was awake, he'd definitely question it but if he wasn't... well, that was just odd.

He raised a hand to wave at the man sitting across from him, checking if he'd respond to at least that. Patrick gave a light chuckle at the amusing act of slumber. He'd never seen anyone fall asleep just like that. Either I'm extremely boring or that actually exists. He leaned back in his chair and picked up his book. He wanted to know more about the mysterious man but he would have to wait. Turning to the first page, he began to read.

For a moment Zack slept on, until one of the librarians comes over, a middle aged woman with a kind smile. She walks up to them, and stands beside the sleeping form of Zack, glancing at the newcomer and smiles. "Sorry about him, he does this often when he comes here...he just zonks out and sleeps for hours, surrounded by books. He's a sweetheart, one of the library's most loyal customers. He comes here a lot..." She then places a hand on Zack's shoulder, and shakes him gently, for a moment nothing happens, then with a start he wakes up, and glances up at the woman.

"Oh...hello Ms. Purty...What's wrong?" Zack yawns, and rubs his eye, smiling at her. "You fell asleep silly. You need to get more rest if you have a problem with randomly falling asleep places. Take care of yourself better child." "Hehe, yes Ma'am." He grins in embarassment, once again a flush on his cheeks. She walks away, waving, and disappears behind a shelf, straghtening some books. Zack lookis over at Patrick and smiles widely. "Sorry about that! I didn't mean to fall asleep like that on ya." He leans over the table to look at the book in Patrick's hand. "What's that you got there? A mystery novel huh? Nice..."

Patrick nearly bursts out laughing at the cute reaction of his friend but held his chuckles in so not to be rude to the librarian. When she left, he grinned widely. "Yes, a mystery. A mystery like you are." He gave a muffled laugh. "How do you fall asleep like that and just wake up like nothing happened? You're such an adorable little thing." He found a lot of things to be cute in odd ways but Patrick really meant it. The innocent flush of the cheeks as he became embarrassed really made him think the man was more adorable than any other traits. Though he feared Zack would take offence to being called cute instead of the usual "handsome", or "manly", etc. he couldn't resist the urge to say it.

He definitely wanted to get to know this boy better. With a wink he asked, "Isn't it a little quiet in here for us to talk? How about we go get something to drink?" He got up from his seat at the table, returned the book to a return shelf off to the side, and walked out of the library. The sun was a reflection of his mood today. He was quite happy with the accidental meeting on this long trip down to America. Scanning the area, he asked, "I'm not familiar with the area, do you have any recommendations for where we could go?"

With a smile, Zack shrugs, before getting up and leaving the building, walking beside Patrick. Glancing over at him, Zack nods when he was asked if he had any recommendations to where they should go. A bright smile forms on his face, his oddly colored eyes light up with excitement, and a cute blush appears on his cheeks. "Yup! Come on, this way!" He giggles, and takes a hold of Patrick's hand, his own hand tiny compared to the Canadians.

Smile still on his face, Zack leads Patrick down the sidewalk, humming as he walked. His eyes wandered everywhere, looking at things no doubt he'd seen millions of times before, but the way Zack looked at them it was as if he was seeing them for the first time.

Every now and then he would look at Patrick, and smile at him, the blush still on his cheeks. They eventually reach a brick two story building, it was old fashioned, the smell of different types of coffees and baked goods coulf be smelled. Zack grins at Patrick, before walking up the steps and opening the door, the sound of a tinkling bell ringing as the door opened. He holds the door for Patrick, and once he was inside, Zack bounces over to the counter where an older lady could be seen. "Hello Mrs. Smith!" Zack says, smiling. "Hello Zack, lively as ever I see! Oh, and look, you brought a friend. How nice. So, what can I get you?" "Yuppies! This is Patrick, I met him at the library! And I'd like a vanilla latte with whipped cream, and a piece of strawberry cheesecake and a side of vanilla ice cream please!" Patrick would soon find out that Zack absolutely LOVED sweets, especially cakes and ice cream. Mrs. Smith nods, and once Patrick had ordered, Zack leads him to a set of stairs, pulling him by his hand once more. They go up the stairs, reaching a second floor, and over to a table next to a wide window that gave a great view of the river and a small park across the street. Zack sat down, only then did he let go of Patrick's hand. He then stares out the window, a dreamy look in his eyes, and a lopsided grin on his lips.

Patrick peered at all the passing buildings, people, décor, etc. He had no idea where they were going but the smaller man had his hand so he felt safe. The blushing man glanced at him every so often and man him blush back. It was odd how much he liked this man, seeing as he never considered himself gay before. It was an odd realization but he couldn't deny it was pretty accurate. Though he wouldn't let Amy know. That would be the end of him; he'd be overwhelmed by a rush of squeals and some "I told you so"s that he'd regret ever taking the trip. But he was still glad he took the trip; it allowed him to meet Zack.

With a smile, he let the other guide him to their destination: an almost run down looking building. He raised an eyebrow as he follow Zack in, smelling the whiffs of coffee. He grinned, the man did know where he was going. Though Patrick didn't have a very keen sense of smell, he did know everything here smelled tasty. He greeted the lady Zack called Mrs. Smith, "Hello, a peppermint latte and chocolate black forest cake please." He smiled at the sweets they ordered. Seems we've both got a craving for sugar. He followed the man up the stairs to a table.

It had a beautiful view but Patrick nearly froze. He didn't like heights... no, he liked them. He just feared them. Zack had sat down and let go of his hand. He crept over to the seat opposite the own the man had taken in baby steps. Breathing out a heavy sigh of relief, he sat down. Being seated seemed to help his nervousness. He looked at the dazed out man and found himself calming down. Distractions always helped. He tried to hit up a conversation to keep the distractions coming, "So, I think we should get to know each other a bit better before we relax and have our drinks. You're from here right? Are you a student?"

After a moment, Zack looks over at Patrick, who had said something about how they should get to know each other, and then continues on to ask if he was from around there, and if he went to the school in the area. Zack smiles and nods, turning to face him instead of the window that he had been staring out of. "Yeah, I agree! That sounds like a great idea!" He smiles, leaning his chin on the palm of his hand, his elbow resting on the table. He looks at Patrick's face, his eyes glittering with enthusiasm, a grin on his lips. "Yes, I live here, but technically I'm not from here. I'm actually from Germany, but I moved here when I was little. As for going to the school, that's another yes. I'm a Sophomore, though technically I should be a Junior. See, I started school late..."

He pauses, looking intently at Patrick before speaking up again. "What about you? You look a bit older than I am...are you a college student?" He stops for a moment when Mrs. Smith appears with their drinks and treats, the cup she set in front of Zack making him smile even wider than before. It had extra whipped cream on it, and vanilla shavings topping it, and the piece of cake was nicely sized as well. "Thanks Mrs. Smith!" The woman smiles, and ruffles Zack's hair. "You're very welcome Zack. Well, have a good day you two!" She turns away, and retreats down the stairs. Zack picks up the fork that was on the plate and places a piece of cake in his mouth, a blush forming on his cheeks, and a sigh of content could be heard. He squeezes his eyes shut in delight, and the smile from before grows even more. "Oh...this is so good!!!" He says, taking another bite.

Sophomore, huh? He's younger than me. Patrick smiled at the answer. "Germany sounds like a wonderful place to visit. I don't get to travel very often but one day, I'd like to see what that's like... one day... Anyway, you're younger than I am; I guess you're going to have to listen to me." He laughed at his own remark jokingly. He wasn't a stickler about age so took the age difference lightly. Friends were friends for him, no matter how old or young they were. "I'm in University, yes. Though I suppose you Americans call it college." He laughed again at the small difference, unsure why he was doing it.

As the drinks and snacks arrived, Patrick continued his bombardment of questions. "So you're older than most of your friends? Or do you just hang with the people your age instead of those in your class?" Patrick was curious what people Zack liked to hang around. After all, the types of friends you have tell a person a lot about you. Seeing as the sweets seemingly interested Zack more than the questions, he set them aside with a smile and mused at the other one's smile. He couldn't help but find it adorable how his new friend was enjoying the sweets.

He slowly had his own but focused more on watching Zack eat than on his own food. He liked sweets and had a major sweet tooth but he didn't display his love for it quite the same way. With his excessive curiosity, Patrick returned to asking questions, "So, do you have a girlfriend? Or are single?" He was absentmindedly assuming Zack was straight like he proclaimed himself to be though his sister insisted he was of another orientation.
