Ji groaned to himself, leaning back against the wall while grumbling to himself. After a few moments of some very annoyed pacing he chose to sit back down in the waiting area by Choi. He and Choi were going to go to the arcade today and use some coupons he had gotten as well as turn in some tokens, the average things teenage boys did on the weekend. Ji was an average person, who did average things while living his very average life, and this was always how it had been so to him, it was perfectly fine. However, on the way he had managed to run his car straight into a fire hydrant. Racking up a large bill in public property damages as well as the cost behind fixing the dent in his old, rinkidy dink little car. It was the kind of car that you had to say a silent prayer to turn on every time, the kind with an old, endearing name, it was junk, but it was his junk. They were now, instead of at the arcade, sitting on the automotive shop, waiting to hear the damage to his wallet as well as for the repairs to finished. Leaning back in his seat, he muttered, "Alright, I give up. From now on, you can drive us everywhere, because Nelly clearly can't handle it." He reffered to his car before seeing the mechanic walk back up to the counter, standing with a silent gulp he walked over and asked, "So, what are the damages?" The overly gruff mechanic spoke while wiping oil from his hands, "Well, you banged her up pretty good there kid. No internal damages but we fixed the dent and you were due for an oil change so did that too. Your price looks about three or so." Ji relaxed as he asked, "Hundred?" Without skipping a beat the mechanic replied "Thousand." To which, Ji lost air. He began to argue over the rediculousness of that pricing, and did not notice the faint rumble that was begining to vibrate. A few things were slightly shaking but not enough for the angry teenager now the mechanic to notice. However a few others did, one of the mechanics that was under a car that could be seen outside of the window, rolled out from under and looked around confused. A few people on the streets stopped, and looked around. A moment passed, everything seemed to slow down just before a large, rumble sounded and shook the earth. Ji grasped the counter in shock and to attempt to stay up, there were a few screams. A dark smoke was beginning to roll in, Ji looked to Choi in confusion, he took a step towards him and then, it hit. The glass shattered as an explosion was heard, the building around them rumbled, looking around wildly he saw the man that was under the car, the car had shaken off the stilts it was on and fallen, crushing the mans leg under a tire. Two more explosions, shaking them even harder as Ji fell back against the counter, the ceiling fan falling and just missing his head. Then all was quiet, sitting there, breathing hard, with wide eyes Ji watched wide eyes, searching for his friend. He managed to lock eyes with Choi just as a cracking was heard, causing the young boys face to go ever more pale, he opened his mouth to scream but it was cut off with the building collapsed on them.

Choi, although outside, heard the interactions between his friend and the mechanic. From the crash that the two was in, the damage had cost more than what Ji-Young had thought. Choi had asked beforehand to let him drive, but the younger insisted that they both take his raggedy car to the arcade, as if neither would be embarrassed to step out anyways. Seungyun had to admit that his friend wasn't that embarrassed of what he had or what belonged to him, that was another reason the two got along well. Tainting his image could happen much more quickly with Ji, not that the twenty year old was using the other, it was just true. If one didn't give a damn about something, then that was what the red head was attracted to, the attitude that he always wanted; and who could have influenced him any better than his best friend Ji.

Green orbs watched amused, albeit a crackling sound caught his attention. Not knowing exactly where it had come from, Choi glanced around, hoping that it wasn't that major. A blood curling scream was what had him to snap his neck back to the building's direction. Now the male knew exactly what was going on. It was an earthquake. Green eyes darting up to the smaller male, face strewed in fear, Choi reached for the other at the same time the building crashed; crumbling to the floor with Ji-Young inside. Silence reigned through the air at that moment, all the cries and scream becoming deafening to Choi. He had just lost his best friend. More quakes was given, the ground shaking, dust flying as building fell, blood splattering as citizens died; albeit it was all unknown by the red head.

The world was now a blur as tears clouded his vision, sound coming back like rushing wind and screams filling the atmosphere. Quickly glancing around, the green eyes caught sight of a crate that was falling from the sky, seeming far away, even in distance, but yet was above him. Taking a step back Choi fell to his knees, the package crashing to the floor and blowing a crater into the ground, the earth's crust peeling to be thrown through the air, pressure knocking the wind from the twenty year old's chest at the impact of his body slamming into yet another building. All went black. The male now lying unconscious.

Ji came to, but knew something was wrong. He opened his eyes and cloud see stones, crumbled ones which were lit by the dim gray light that was shining through a crack. He didn't freak out, he just sat there for a moment, he could hear the faint ring of car alarms going off and the crackling of flames that must be nearby. He knew he should be scared, or screaming but for some reason he was calm. Closing his eyes he let out a low exhale, then inhaled sharply as he felt a pain throb in his side, looking down he saw where a beam had broken off right through his side. Then he decided, it was time to freak out. He let out a cry as he shifted slightly, raising his arms and grabbing hold of it, he tried to yank it out but just touching it brought painful tears to his eyes. He let his arms fall as he felt his warm blood begin to soak through the lower part of his shirt. He leaned his head back against the counter behind him and closed his eyes. The cieling had fallen in a way that he was trapped against the counter but had avoided most of the stones that had fallen.

He considered dying, this young boy, only 19 considered just not opening his eyes again. He had come to go to an arcade and ended up trapped under a building with a beam going through him. However, Choi flashed through his mind, he had dived to get to him, had he also been crushed? With that simple thought, Ji opened his eyes, bit into his lower lip and without warning yanked out the broken beam, crying out loudly at the pain, and allowing the metal to drop to the ground with an echoing bang. "Now, getting out is the next problem." He mumbled softly, there was not enough room for him to stand but he could crouch, and that he did. Making his way over to where the light was filtering through he touched the large peice of rock above it, the one that he figured was trapped him in. Holding his breath he braced himself and pushed up, it fell back and slide down to where he had just been sitting. He topples forward down the rumble to the street and lay there for a moment, looking up at the dark sky. It was probably not night yet but all the smoke had clouded over the skies, lit up with a warm red that was caused by the fires reflection, giving it the appearance that the sky itself was raging.

Swinging his right arm around, he hoisted himself up into a sitting position and looked around. It must have been some time since the explosions started, he could still hear them in the distance, but everything here was quiet, there was no more screaming, there was bodies litering the street, he could hear someone sobbing in the alley but they must be to far for him to see, cars were jammed into buildings where they must have run right into them. Shaking his head to clear his thoughts he yelled out, "Choi!..Choi!!" looking around he began to assume the worst when he saw nothing. However among the bodies that he could see, he saw one with red hair, which only one person he knew was stupid enough to dye his hair red. "Choi!" He called out again, stumbling to where the still body lay, fearing the worst. He fell to the ground beside his friend and rolled the body over, recognizing Choi's face immedietly, blood was covering the right ide of his face. Ji leaned down to listen to the others breathing and sighed in relieve when felt it on his ear. Over all the other was injured but not going to die, however he saw that the shirt on Choi right side was begining to turn damp with blood, moving to turn him over to check for a wound Ji froze. It was not choi's blood, it was hsi own, that had soaked into the others shirt. Ji looked down and saw that he was covered in his own blood, he knew that he had lost to much and how this was going to end for him. Almost in a trance he took Choi by the shoulders and begna to shake him "Choi...choi, wake up, please! Choi!"

At the shaking of his body and a small voice calling out to him, the green orbs blinked open, only staying open for a matter of seconds before once again closing. In that small moment he had let off a smile, seeing that his friend was there. Either he was dead himself and just dreaming, or it was actually true. After a few more moments, the red head once again came to, glancing at the one who had him in his arms. Green eyes widened as he quickly threw his arms around the other's small waist. "Ji! Ji...yo-you're alive." Tears clouding his vision as he pulled away to look into the other's greenish eyes. Staring into the face of his friend worried him, he knew that the other was badly hurt but it seemed like he was dying. Pulling away from the smaller male, the older teen stared to Ji-Young for a moment, pushing the blond hair away from the younger's face. "How are you feeling? You ok?" Glancing down with a gasp at the amount of blood leaving his friends body.

A fearful glance made it's way back to the green eyes of his friend. Both fear and hurt engraved in Choi's. Hand quickly dashing down to grab at the other's wound, the older teen applied pressure to it. "I need you to lay down and relax. We can save you...please don't die on me." Tears once again clouding his vision, more pouring out than before. "I don't know how I would live on if you left me. This wouldn't be a good life to live without you Ji. I'll be socially disturbed, not wanting no one but you." Pulling the hurt teen into a gentle hug. Choi placing Ji-Young's head on his lap. If his friend died, the red head head would never forgive him. There was no way he was living in this cruel world alone, not without the best thing that had ever happened to him.

Relief flooded the younger boy when he saw those usual green eyes flicker open and look up at him in recognition. His grip on the other tightened slightly before loosening back up in order to avoid injuring the other any more. He stiffened up when he felt Choi's arms wrap around him, closing his eyes tightly and clenching his teeth while sucking in his breath. Keeping his eyes closed to remain calm he lowered his arms around the others head to hug him to him tightly, disregarding the pain and just enjoying the comfort of his friends touch. He almost protested when Choi pulled away from him, though appreciated the lack of pressure against his stomach at this point. Ji considered acting like nothing was wrong until he heard Chois gasp and knew that he already knew, so instead he tried to make light of it, with a small laugh he shrugged to the best of his abilities and spoke, "I've definitely had better days."

Though he was joking around, his face could not betray him. He knew what was going to happen, and he knew it was going to happen very soon. Letting out a gasp as he felt pressure applied directly to his wound he swayed a bit where he sat, he probably could not have kept sitting up even if he wanted to. Reaching down and grasping the wrist that was holding his wound covered while easing himself down to relax. Ji sat still for a moment, not uttering a word as he tried to gather the right words that one would say in this moment. He could not think of anything, nothing epic or memorable like the dying scenes in the movies, so he settled for, "I wonder if I would get a discount on my car now? I was right you know, he was asking way to much for it." Letting out a shaky laugh he smiled, reaching up to wipe the tears from his best friends eyes. "It's alright, it really is, it does not even hurt so much now." He was not lying, a very numb, calm feeling was spreading throughout his entire body. He had read about this in his Psychology book, the body, in order to preserve the mind, emits endorphin's when the body knows it is going to die. It was getting harder and harder for him to breath, he could feel an iron like liquid welling up in the back of his throat. Another rumble sounded somewhere in the distance, but he did not care. His face was paling and his eyes were getting harder to keep open.

Choi continued to study the other in his arm, knowing that his friend was going to die in mere seconds. Although Ji-Young had explained that it didn't hurt; it made not a difference. The red head knew that this was it, the ending. He would never hear that voice, see those eyes, or smile for however long he lived. The bond that the two of them shared was now broken....broken by the grasp of death. This situation was one that the red head would never have thought of. No friend ever wanted another to die, it was just too hard; especially when sharing a bond like Ji's and Choi's.

After witnessing that the smaller's eyes were seeming more heavy, breathing slowing into a calm rasp, the older teen closed his eyes. There was no way that he could watch as his best friend took his last breath. Today was officially the worst day of his life. The day that Choi wished would never come. "I'll miss you..." Connecting their foreheads with a small sob.

Ji smiled quietly, watching the others wounded expression. He looked like a young child who just watched his cat get hit by a car. Ji and Choi had been friends and there bond was stronger than any one he had ever met before. He knew, now that is was to late to fix anything, that is was to late to tell him how he felt. No one knew that Ji was not straight, he had had many girlfriends before, and did not usually give off that feeling around guys. However he knew very well that he was in love with Choi. That being said, though he was scared out of his mind to die, he was happy that he was able to die like this, in the comforting embrace of the one he loved.

He let his eyes close, not taking them off the others face until the last possible moment. He tried to murmur out those last few words that he felt the need to say. It could not end until he said it, with a sluggish pace he took the others hand and held Chois palm to his mouth and murmured out, knowing Choi probably could not understand what words were being murmured against his palm. He murmured those last few words, then finally, he let go.

  • 2 weeks later...

The red head prayed that with some miracle his friend wouldn't die on him. Choi began to believe that it was all possible. That the gods wouldn't take away the very reason of his own existence. There was no way that he could live with such a memory. A vision of this very day that Ji would pass away. Thinking that the other would survive was absolutely ignorant, albeit despite all that, Choi thought that Ji-young would survive. A unnerving feeling washed through him at the slight feel of lips brushing against his palms, almost as if the other was whispering something. When all strength left the grasp his friend had on him, the older male glanced down to gasp.

"No....please don't leave me." This couldn't be happening. Choi could literally see as the life slipped away from his friend, having the other to be welcomed by death. Fingers ruffled through the dirty blond locks, forehead pressed against the smaller's. "Don't go...please." He begged as he rocked back and forth with an intention of a breakdown.
