"You sure your class doesn't start now?" Takashi asked, raising an eyebrow. He was not really comfortable with being late to class and he felt the same way for Hatomi. Even though he really didn't want to be alone right now.

Hatomi simply shrugged. "It doesn't start for another twenty minutes, and the professor's always late. His assistant starts the lecture for him, so I won't really miss anything anyways." he replied. "Oh, let's go to the campus cafe!" He grabbed onto Takashi's arm and tugged him in the right direction.

Takashi blinked and let himself be tugged. He has never went to the campus cafe anyway. He looked around as they passed by some school buildings and some areas he has never been. Takashi thought that he really should go out more often.

Hatomi still had an arm casually looped around Takashi's when they entered the cafe. It was still only mid-afternoon, so it was noticeably quieter compared to the bustling evening shift when most people had finished their classes for the day. "Do you want anything?" he asked, looking up at his roommate. "Everything is pretty good, honestly."

Takashi pursed his lips as he looked up at the menu. The only coffee he's familiar with are instant coffee and the americano one, all other's are just things he have heard from tv. "Well, what do you recommend?" he muttered after a while, eyes still on the menu.

Hatomi looked over the menu again, not sure what to pick. Takashi had already stated that he didn't like sweets, so he tried to look at the options that weren't as sugary. "Well the hazelnut expresso is nice. The chai lattes are good too." He replied.

Takashi glanced at Hatomi then smiled a little "Chai latte sounds good...I'll...I'll go find us a seat," he added and squeezed Hatomi's hand on his arm before going to a nearby booth by the window.

Hatomi found himself smiling at the action and nodded as his roommate walked away. He only had to wait a bit longer in line before he reached the front. "I'll have a medium chai latte, and iced vanilla mocha with whipped cream." he ordered. The blonde paid the proper amount, then waited until the drinks were made and carried it back to the table. "Tell me what you think...."

Takashi nodded as he took the drink, sipping from it. He blinked. Hatomi probably remembered he doesn't like sweets much and he smiled slightly at the thought. "Mhm...it's good..." he muttered, sipping quickly. "What did you take?"

"I got some iced coffee. Warm coffee makes me sleep ironically. It's vanilla flavored." Hatomi responded. "So isn't a nice quiet coffee shop like this supposed to be the ideal place for some super cute dorky studying?" he teased, glancing up at Takashi as he licked some whipped cream off of his straw.

Takashi stared a little when Hatomi licked his straw and flushed. "W-well...could be...but then again, I don't really go to other places much," he muttered, looking away as he quickly thrust the straw into his drink. "I take it, you're always here?"

Hatomi noticed his reaction but didn't call him out on it, smiling proudly to himself. "Eh, kinda. A few of the staff know me. I mostly just hang out here to blow off time in between classes. The ones I bother going to, that is." he shrugged. A guy that he knew walked past the large window and he waved, earning an excited wave back before the guy continued on his way.

Takashi nodded with a smile before following Hatomi's gaze at the window. He wondered who that is and furrowed his eyebrows. He took a sip before asking. "Who was that?"

"Just a guy I used to mess around with from my Psych class. But I dropped out of it forever ago, so I haven't seen him for a while." Hatomi shrugged, swirling around his straw in his drink casually. He was so used to sleeping with people or just having a meaningless relationship that he didn't think twice before just dropping it or cutting off contact.

Takashi, upon hearing the little story, sighed. "O-oh," he mumbled as he sipped his drink quietly. Sleeping around seemed so normal with Hatomi thought he shouldn't be surprised considering the number of people who have ended up crying by their doorstep. But then Takashi's mood fell a little even though he knew that it was only a 'deal' that they have.

Hatomi didn't notice his roommate's change in mood until he'd already gotten to the bottom of his drink. When he returned from throwing away the empty cup, he surveyed his down expression. He wanted to ask him what was wrong, but decided to try and figure it out first. Was it something that he'd said? He then realized what had said about the guy. Had that made Takashi jealous or upset? Not quite knowing how to approach the subject, Hatomi bit his lip worriedly.

"Wanna go for a quick walk around campus? We have just enough time before class starts..."

When Hatomi stood up and threw his cup, Takashi quickly finished his drink but failed so he tried seeping calmly but a little faster. He didn't notice Hatomi coming back until he was asked if he wanted to take a walk. He looked at his watch before nodding and standing up, throwing his drink first. He shoved his hands in his pockets and glanced at his roommate. "Well, okay...I think that's a good idea," he mumbled softly, thinking that it was a good idea to take his mind off things. "Let's go?" Takashi smiled a little.

Hatomi nodded and led him out of the shop, returning to the familiar path of the campus. They walked in silence for a bit since he didn't know what to say. He sucked at talking about important things. Finally, he turned to look up at Takashi.

"Are you okay, Taka-kun? You've been looking kinda down since we were in the cafe..." he mumbled, one of his hands coming to rest on his roommate's upper arm.

Takashi followed Hatomi out and stayed silent for a bit. It was awkward and he thought it was his fault. He was actually quite relieved when Hatomi broke the ice. He glanced down at his roommate. "W-well...yeah...just realized something," he said then shook his head, smiling. "Don't worry about me." He patted his roommate's hand on his arm

Hatomi frowned up at him, the cryptic words only making him more concerned. Takashi was usually so straightforward. If he was asked something, he would answer honestly, even if he was blunt. So Hatomi was surprised when he dodged the question. "That didn't sound like something you would say....what's wrong?" he pressed, halting his steps and staring up at his roommate.

Takashi stopped and glanced back at his roommate who halted. He wondered why he wanted to know so much. It wasn't like this before; he and Hatomi had survived being roommates without even acknowledging much of the other's presence. Change was inevitable and he was getting used to it but now that he was aware of it, it actually felt new to him.

Takashi lightly smiled and patted the other's head before tugging him by the arm. "Look, it's fine, really. It's just me overthinking things. It's not unusual, if you ask me."

"Hm....I guess you have a point...." Hatomi mumbled, letting his roommate tug him along. Why was he so concerned in the first place? Before a few days ago, he probably wouldn't have cared anyways. It was an felt odd to actually think about someone else's feelings, but it wasn't an unpleasant feeling. Takashi seemed to be brushing it off, so the blonde just shrugged and pushed the thought out of his mind. "Ugh, I shouldn't have finished that ice coffee so quickly. Now I'm cold." he frowned as he rubbed his arms. He hadn't thought to grab a jacket on his way out of the apartment.

When Takashi felt that Hatomi dropped the subject, he dropped his hand back into his pockets. It sure was cold today but not as cold as this one hall where he takes his Statistics classes. He halted for a while when Hatomi mentioned himself being cold. Takashi had a scarf in his bag and took it out before placing it around the other's neck. "It's not much, but are you okay now?" he asked, standing in front of the other with their faces just a little close. He chuckled lightly. "Wow, for someone who came from Hokkaido...I thought cold weather like this doesn't bother your kind."

Hatomi touched the scarf with a slight smile. It was soft under his fingers, and the color was nice. "Better....but no, I actually hate the cold weather. Especially when everyone starts getting sick, it's gross." He looked back up at Takashi, noticing now just how close he was. A pink tinge colored his cheeks, but he managed to keep eye contact. "We look like one of those lame manga couples I used to read about when I was younger..." he smiled. Hatomi bridged the gap between them and kissed Takashi softly.

Takashi flushed when Hatomi pointed out something and he was about to say something when he kissed him. Takashi kissed back gently with pink cheeks. What Hatomi said about being cold was true; his lips were a bit cold. He pulled his supposed boyfriend closer by tugging at the scarf, not caring if people will see.
