Jeb and "Lala" already have history (which admittedly is a little unfair to the rest of you) - so at the risk of writing boring porn, what do you want your characters to actually -do-? But if we're working in terms of 'pitcher' and 'catcher' and 'catcher' would mean bottom like I'm assuming it does, then yes. My OC would be a catcher. XD (preferable catcher yes since it suits my charachter better but i can be a pitcher too :3 ) And what John will do, well i actually don't really know about it too. Since he is/was a slave that came from europe he will be traveling around and help other people, but also finding a way to return to his own country maybe. I think I've managed to include everything that's been talked about. Raven will start the RP off for us (all in good time), but in the meantime, this is just a rough idea of what it's going to be about, so any ideas and suggestions are more than welcome. THE PLOT The town of Deserts Reach is though to have been named thusly so due to it being in the part of the country where the desert reaches new terrain; the mountains. The old Sheriff is looking to retire and has contacted an old friend Jebediah Jones, ex US Marshall to come and take over from him, knowing that the young man has all the experience required to be an excellent Sheriff. Deserts Reach is unique in a few ways, it's quite large for a frontier town, boasting the railway track that runs through it, and several saloons and brothels, giving rise to "tourists", and men and women looking to make their fortune in any way they can. The people of Deserts Reach would all have a "past" if you asked them about it, but the unwritten rule of the town is not to pry into such matters, as they don't really give a damn if you just live your life and don't hurt anybody. The previous Sheriff cultivated a friendship with the nearby tribe of Indians leading to increased trade and business for the town, it not being an uncommon sight to see a fellow native in the town. Like any frontier town, it is not without it's dangers. Outlaw gangs roam the wild west, looking to make a dishonest living from honest folk, The McGillicuddy brothers are infamous throughout many states and counties for their crimes and rumour has it that they've turned their eye to Deserts Reach... A bit of political (and maybe even real) war is always making things interesting. Especially if you have someone involved in said circumstances. Maybe we can also add the growing slavery into it, like they are shipping outsiders from another land and stuff. But well, i will say if i got a good enough idea. Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. As for the slavery bit, they did 'ship' outsiders in as 'virtual' slaves. The railroads 'employed' Irish, Chinese, and former black slaves. While they were technically free employees, the reality of the situation was much more harsh, but that is probably not what you are looking for, heh. Squeeze and I both considered your back story when we were thinking of the plot, though. I was thinking it wont be too hard to work in some stuff that will relate to you more specifically once we actually get this thing moving. I have some ideas about how to do that. I hope you will like them. but I also have to leave for work in less than 15 minutes, so I don't really have time to type them out now. I'll start serious work on the opening post when I get home from work this evening. I hope to have something ready before I go to bed for the night. Thanks for being patient with me so far. Don't worry, i know the real story behind the 'wild west', i just actually wanted to bend it a little bit. Since no real slavery actually happened (like the government made it to believe), i thought about making it seem like an underground organisation (mabe even the family that is currently in question) is shipping more and more different individuals into the land to let them work or in some rare chances even sell them to a bordel. But none of that happened to my charachter. He was brought here to work in the mansion his master owned and the little 'relationship' i had going on in my charachter history was actually kinda forced at the beginning but came to a mutural agreement along the way. But that was just my wish, to make it a bit different than the reality but not entirely false. Hope that's okay like this. I am just shuffling around with the 'there should be no evidence' kind of situation. And a 'slave' traveling across the land and helping the people is bound to bring some trouble sooner or later. Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. For those who may not know. "Stand and Deliver" is actually a phrase from an earlier time and a different country, but it is sort of relevant. It was once used by English highwaymen when they robbed coaches. The wild west also has coaches, and while robbing coaches or even stopping coach robbers isn't exactly our goal, it sounded decent enough and Squeeze was powerfully fond of the name. So I hope no one objects to either it or the 'aka,' which is my own addendum that I just couldn't let go of. For anyone who might not know it is a play off an old Clint Eastwood 'spaghetti western' title, "A Fistful of Dollars."
