Professor Birch Q. Lamington Log 32;

 

It's already been 52 hours since they arrived and still their purpose is unclear. They do not kill everyone, some they take away; to where, I am unsure. It is evident that most of the ones that roam the city are comparable to mindless beasts whilst only few seem to have any modicum of intelligence. One thing is certain though: They are all predators and we, their prey.

 

Professor Birch Q. Lamington Log 44;

 

It's been a week since my last log. Had to fortify the walls and ceiling of my underground bunker since the last nuclear deployment almost made it crumble. The city still stands, I'm not sure about survivors, but the purge was successful... well... only for about a few hours before they came back again, but this time a lot more. I do not understand. They are just too many. Military force is literally flooded by how much number they have.

 

Professor Birch Q. Lamington Log 57;

 

I have rescued one survivor. He is showing signs of trauma. The few times I have been able to get through him, he tells me that someone killed his entire family. And that this someone was a 'He'. He tells me nothing more, not even his name. But I do hear him mumble, from time to time, 'He looked at me.. then left.'

I am not quite sure what that meant, but it seems that this 'He' is one of the more intelligent creatures.

 

Professor Birch Q. Lamington Log 82;

 

4 days after I rescued the traumatized survivor, I tend to call him Thomas, he suddenly woke up screaming, saying that 'He' was here.. in this very bunker.. while we were asleep. Then Thomas ran and repeatedly hit his head against the wall until he died.

.....

His body is still there in the corner.. I'm not sure what exactly happened. I'm not certain that I believe that it happened. And I am not sure where to put Thomas' corpse. I can not go above ground just to dispose of it. I do not know...

 

Professor Birch Q. Lamington Log 97;

 

Samuel agrees with my hypotheses, but we both doubt that knowing what these creatures are would help us from defeating them. He tells me that we should move to a safehouse where we could conduct our research in abject peace. I agree, but I am not quite sure where that should be, although he tells me that he knows of a place.

We can not bring too much so it is with regret that I will be leaving this logs here.

A side note though; the entire time Samuel has been here, I have not seen him eat or sleep. With what's going on around the world, I already have a theory as to the possible reason but it seems too far-fetched to think about. Although if I am right... then the possibilities...

Plot

 

For generations we have stayed hidden, erased every evidence of our existence from prying eyes. We made sure that only the worthy were chosen to join our ranks and when they were turned, every trace of them gone. Between our three groups, we have maintained peace and disturb not the humans, for we are the ones tasked of protecting them despite of our history bathed in blood.

 

We watch them, guide them and help them, all done in the shadows. It is our task. It is our right. It is our responsibility. For one day, they will come, will declare war and we would have failed if the humans were to be defeated. And defeat would mean a total purge from above; we would all be consumed in light, our souls erased from history and everything will start anew.

 

We, the eldest, the most powerful, fought against their champion.... and lost. Now they are here, waging not war but massacre. So we must lift our walls, open our gates and blow our trumpets for to battle we go. We are the guardians and from the shadows we shall venture into the light and purge these demons back to hell.

Good English grammar. Mistakes are negligible as long as the post is understandable.

Minimum of TWO paragraphs/post. If you're gonna make a long reply then make sure that the content would be just as satisfying.

Must be Experienced in RP. Know and understand the Yes-and-Nos of the play.

Must be able to reply 2x a week. Not necessarily reply immediately after a post. I know there are troubles on personal situations but it's asked to give me a note if you won't be able to reply for a prolonged period of time.

Must have LOTS of imagination. This is a long RP, improvement and suggestion to the plot are always encouraged.

He has a large scar across his hipbone towards the middle of his back. He doesn't really wear jewellery and is reluctant to wear shoes if it isn't needed (so mainly inside his house or garden).

Personality:

Gin doesn't talk all that much, only if he deems it necessary. When under friends, he talks more often and seems all in all more laid back. Maybe it is his instinct when near a 'pack member' but he is just wary of strangers at first and rather closes his mouth before saying something stupid. The wolf is proud in what he is and does. He hates being seen as a weak being and doesn't hesitate to show who the stronger one is. Though he hates being looked down upon, he accepts his place in the hierarchy. Loyalty and submission are only given to those who are really worthy of it. But despite being a bloodthirsty carnivore, he is fine with being friends with others. As long as they don't step on his wrong side then he is fine with allowing someone else besides his pack near him. The only different thing about his brethren and himself is that he accepts those weaker to him and doesn't shun them. Gin remembers his past and the submission he needed to show. He knew how others felt and he had something akin to sympathy in him. But only those that accept being weaker and don't behave like the arrogant bunch the humans are known to be.

 

Likes & Dislikes:

- Gin likes Meat (obviously) especially shashlik

- He loves to run around without shoes since he can feel the earth under his feet

- On the contrary, he hates sunny days or more specifically sweating especially in his other form

- Despite his nature that he should hate cats, he is rather fond of them. The ones he doesn't like are the dogs

Weapon:

During full moons he loves to fight in his were form but at other times he has a liking for the hidden blades and his throwing knifes (but also functional as daggers or at least small knives).

 

 

 

Profession:

Since he doesn't like human crowds, he decided to join the shadier business. At least nobody asks for his personal details here. As the 'loyal dog' to a loan shark he isn't really welcomed when visiting those that haven't repayed their debt.

 

Biography:

Gin doesn't have a pack which isn't so uncommon in this time. Werewolves are feared creatures, though humanity stopped believing in them hundreds of years ago. The still appear in horror movies as ruthless killing machines (which isn't really untrue) but they could also feel and love. It medieval times it wasn't uncommon to go on a hunt for these vile creatures. So they started to grow less and less and living in a pack just wasn't possible anymore. So they decided to stick to the humans, unnoticed, and continue their life. There were still some accidents now and then but werewolves noticed that as long as you aren't different, then you’re fine between humans. They shunned their true form and decided to live a life full of lies. Gin wasn't really happy when he found out about his true nature. He despised the other werewolves to bow down to the humans so easily, making them seem nothing but a dog. During his first year, where he still couldn't fully control his urges, he went on a rampage and showed humanity once again that the horror from decades back still resided under them. He was nearly killed, if it weren't for this small alley that nobody bothered to really look into. His pelvis was badly hurt from a blade. It stung and made it hard to stop the bleeding. Yet his unnatural healing powers saved his life from bleeding out in a dirty alley. After admitting that the idea to teach humans a lesson wasn't the best he had in his life, he didn't want to accept being a mere dog. Yet he accepted the job as a debt collector for a loan shark. Though he got money for his job and respect, he knew that the other saw him as nothing but a dog, doing his work. Yet, Gin needed to collect money and power for his plans to work. So he decided to endure the humiliation and work for these lowly humans. He was missing a good foundation since he never really visited a human school. He was home schooled by his parents so for a real job he was missing the degree.

 

Only years later did he realise his true purpose. An elder came up to him once, having searched for 'the one' or something. He told him the story of their kin real nature and their job. Gin couldn't accept it so easily but he trusted the elders word and decided to lay down his pride as a creature of the night and readied himself for the fight that was about to come. If humanity will survive this, then he might be able to show them just who the real kings are. Not such weak, pitiful creatures that needed to be saved my monsters they had erased from their own history. And maybe, just maybe he hoped that humanity saw that they weren’t the inferior being they saw themselves as. A good ol’ teaching of self awareness never hurt anyone.

didn't get what stein was at first so i kind of guessed the race would be similar to frankenstein's monster.

His "stitches" start at the dorsal base of his neck, wrapping around his entire torso and thighs; it is easy for him to conceal these beneath the layers of clothing he wears. His eyepatch seems sketchy but he has heterochromia iridia, a genetic trait that makes the irises of his eyes differ in color. In his case, the color of the eye under the patch is mauve. Also, as a Stein, he stands at about 180 cm.

Personality:

Maverick may look gloomy but he has the heart of a child. His curiosity is greater than anyone else's that he tends to disobey his parents and would blend within the human crowd to try and learn their different lifestyles even without really concealing his true form. He also believes that the misunderstandings raging between races are irrational. He often daydreams about living amidst the other races easily without thinking about their bloody past, chatting with them about trivial things. Despite this, he has an inferiority complex that makes him feel like he could not initiate such change and would, therefore, keep this to himself. He's a freak for history and mystic, making the library his favorite place (second to the human world). He is clumsy and his attention span is shorter than any teenager his age. Maverick usually doesn't finish a task on time (unless it entails him to go on a quest or something) but he doesn't slack off. Instead, he does other things that he thinks are more worth his time. He has a good sense of humor and is quite cheerful deep inside. The problem is, he doesn't know how to convey his feelings through body language and facial expressions; his smile actually looks more of a grimace and his laugh sounds forceful. With this, he has few friends, those who are keen enough to understand him.

Biography:

The Steins, prior to their forced assimilation to the human race, lived as a peaceful community that would work hand in hand with all races. They never concealed their true form, their "stitches" out in their full glory. The humans never feared them and therefore, they lived together within villages. Since their physical appearances are quite similar to the humans, they usually aid in farming and cattle raising. Their massive build or tall and lanky figures, however, made them useful loggers and blacksmiths and fruit gatherers. With this and their being very kind to people, they were usually either elected as head of the village or sent to the artillery to aid in wars during medieval times. Others were also incorporated in the army as front-line knights. There were humans, however, who were jealous of their rising in rank amongst their race. They made up stories of how the Steins were creatures of the night and how they could easily kill them all if they come to power. Rumors spread quickly and soon enough, the Steins were a feared race. They were banished from the villages, forced on the Crusades, and some were even massacred in front of the masses. These forced the Steins to retreat deep into the forests and mountains, learning how to fully conceal their true form through the years and building their own hierarchy. The Steins have their own government which include two classes: the Elite (the rich, the officials, the military men), and the Mediocre. Despite this, they still abide to the laws of the human world because they feared the humans and did not want their race to be annihilated.

 

Maverick was born into the elite community of the Steins and was, therefore, raised to know his place in the world. His parents were both officials but of middle rank. As an Elite, he was enrolled in classes under the Stein Elders and was taught to defend the humans, knowing full well that if they don't, their race would be gone as well. Maverick was eager to learn because of his love for history and worldliness. He soon ended his training as one of the top students in his batch. So when the time came to fight, only Maverick and a few graduates his age were chosen to be part of the Elders community to raise arms and defend humanity and the two other races. He did not hesitate to help despite their past and volunteered to be in the main unit, wishing for a peaceful world where everyone would be equals.

I don't know if i am actually allowed to do this but i wanted to remember the others that this is still going and we are still searching for one more.

Though Faust-san is gone at the moment i thought about bumping it a little until he/she is back. We still need one more person and the free slots concerning creatures are (at least i believe so due to the front page stating them) vampire and human. Though i don't know when Faust-san will come back.
