Quiet, everything was so quiet now a days. The young prince let out a soft sigh and opened his eyes to stare up at his ceiling that was covered in a fighting scene. It told the story of how his great grandfathers fought the cracken, and once it was killed, pulled a bounty larger than all the gold in the world from it's gut, the crystal. Staring up at his ceiling, he brought his hand up to the crystal that lay around his neck, it glowed a faint, blue hue that could only be seen at night really. All Atlantians wore these crystals around there neck, these crystals were what powered everything, the used them to light lanterns, to turn on there hovering machines, they were there life sources, when an atlantian died, so did there crystal. At the heart of his ceiling, shown a large, glowing crystal that had clearly taken many days to paint, this one represented the hidden power that dwelled within there island. Reaching up, the young price adjusted his hair before sitting up in bed and looking out of his window, slipping out of his bed he lit a lantern and set it on the window sill before leaning on it slightly to stare up at the sky. The moon shone brightly, lighting up his small city. There were many buildings, but all were only ghosts of what they had once been. There was no electricity here, so at times like this, where it was very late at night and all the children were at sleep, all was quiet, calm and peaceful. A small creak sounded, and Aidan turned to see his grandpa, very slowly hobbling in, leaning mostly on his wooden, knobby cane, the old man reached for his young grandson and lightly touched the moon shaped birth mark on his cheek and spoke in his old, wistful voice, "You can feel it too, then? Something is coming, a change is upon us. Brace yourself, my child, it will be rocky for us all."

Jacques looked out the windows of the sub from next to the driver’s seat as he leaned over. There wasn’t anything to see but the dark blackness of the deep ocean. The woman in the driver’s seat looked at him with a raised eyebrow as he moved away.

“Jumpy?” she asked teasingly.

“I don’t like being anywhere I can’t fire my gun,” he replied back his voice tense from stress of being in this thing for days.

“Relax, this is nothing,” she said, and he sat down in a seat behind her.

“Relax? How many feet under the surface are we?”

“About five miles down,” she answered. “The pressure down here can crush a man in seconds.”

“You’re not helping,” he told her and left the cockpit of the sub. He could hear her light giggles as he left.

That was honestly the last thing he actively remembers. Yes he remembers the shaking, the blaring alarms, the shouts, and god knows the fright that he was not ashamed of admitting to.

But how he had ended up on a white sandy beach with water washing against his boots, and the clear sky looking down at him, had floored him. He didn’t understand. They were thousands of feet under the surface the last time he remembered asking. He came awake and looked around. Some of the people were going through the sub, getting whatever it was that they could salvage.

Standing he patted himself down. There was dried blood on his face and neck, more than likely from when he knocked into something in the sub.

“Where are we?” he asked looking around.

The woman walked up to him. “Not sure, haven’t seen the locals yet,” she answered. Some soldiers came to him to give reports that he nodded to and then sent them on a scouting mission to look around the area. “We were able to get most of everything off the sub, but.”

“But? But what Jenna?” Jacques didn’t like buts at the end of sentences like that.

“I am not sure she will sail again,” the woman looked towards the sub.

“So we’re stuck?”

She nodded her head. “For now.”

Aidan heard all the commotion that was going on around the city, some where saying that they were being attacked by large iron whales from the sea, however this seemed very unlikley. Of course, had and the King were currently in there rooms, safe from any danger...and any excitement. Sighing softly he leaned against the window, the city was surrounded by trees, it was only a short walk from here to the beach, but due to the vast trees, you could not see the beach front. He couldn't just sit here while god knows what happened on the shores, on his shores. Quickly and quietly, the young prince took ahold of the over grown vine that lines his window, and began to climb down, barefoot. It only took him a few moments to get to the ground, and the second he set foot on it, he took off as fast as he could, wrapping the cloak that he had grabbed around himself so that no one could recognize him, all that could be seen was his mouth, chin and upper neck. His people were watching the beach however everyone was to afraid to approach it. So unlike them, he quickly navigated his way through the trees, slowly, and quietly, he made his way to the edge of the tree line. Pressing himself against the familiar bark he peered around the tree to see, and all his guard was dropped in aw. They were just people! Standing up, he watched as they seemed to be hauling items from the large, mechanical whale. He was partly hidden by the trees shadows, but has lost his focus so was fully visible now.

Jacques watched as his men helped haul out most of the items. Jenna was going over what they could keep and what was broken and needed repaired. He also looked out into the distance, he couldn’t shake the feeling that he was being watched, but who or what he didn’t know, but he kept an eye out.

“Good news is we can still use the sub as our sleeping quarters,” she said to Jacques. “Tomorrow I want to see if we cant contact the locals, hopefully they speak a language I know, -“ she looked to Jacques as he scanned the tree line. Snapping her fingers she got his attention back. “Were you listening?”

“Language tomorrow,” he replied. “I’m listening.” She placed her hands on her hips and glared at him. “What?”

“Why couldn’t you have become a scientist like mom and dad?”

“Because I am not into all that bookie techno gizmo stuff,” he answered her. Shaking her head she thrust a clipboard into his gut. He grabbed it looking it over and looked at the boxes of stuff piled on the beach.

“You’re the acting commander, you get to check off all your army and soldier stuff,” she said with a smirk. He rolled his eyes and walked over towards the boxes. She grabbed his arm before he took three steps. “Jacques,” she nodded towards the cloaked figure. He sat the clipboard down and grabbed his weapon but didn’t shift it towards the person. Jenna smiled kindly and walked towards the person. “Hello,” she said slowly.

The small prince watched quietly in fascination, they were hauling wooden crates on around, and there were so many things he had never scene before! There clothing as well, it was so different! Atlantian clothing was all strict white or a very light shade of blue, on top of that, they did not wear crystals around there neck, where had they come from? On top of that, what were they doing here? They were humans, right? Maybe the fell from the sky? Looking over to the large metal thing, he considered the idea that maybe they had emerged from the ocean in it. Where the sea gods? To him, it was exciting, it was, different. He saw that many of them wore metal looking things on there hips, that he assumed must be used to screw things into place, but were in fact, guns.

He did not notice that he had been spotted until the women approached him, startled slightly he stepped back, however lost his footing and toppled back, causing his cloak to fall off and revealing his entire face. Quickly, he righted hisself, watching the women closely, not moving an inch. He was fascinated, but nothing new had come for many years here, so he was also a bit frightened. Letting out a low breath, he spoken simple, in return, "Hello" It was then he realized he had been childish, and forgotten a weapon for protection.

The woman smiled and looked to Jacques as the man loosened his hold on his M16. His eyes widen slightly in surprise at the others features. “This is so exciting,” Jenna said to her brother and then turned back towards the male. “My name is Jenna, and this brute here is my older brother Jacques,” she introduced.

“I’m not a brute,” he whispered to her.

“You are a brute,” she answered him with a smile on her face and turned her attention back towards the male. By now the rest of their group knew that he was there and they stayed out of the way. They waited for a bit to see if he would introduce himself. Jenna wasn’t sure if he was just copying her or if he actually knew English.

Jacques shifted his feet and looked over his shoulder and shook his head at the men around. They nodded and went back to getting boxes.

“Come, come,” Jenna said and made a motion with her hand. She looked to Jacques who shrugged his shoulder and moved into a relaxed stance. He nodded his head towards the white haired male.

Aidan could not help but laugh a bit at the common joke that was shared between the siblings. So, they did not seem to be bad people, she seemed so nice, and was very pretty. Though her hair and eyes were such weird colors, they were fascinating. They used to be a very strong city, and held a vast library, it was because of this that the prince new english, he, the king, and only a handful of others could understand english, let alone speak it, though it was heavily accented.

At her gesture he looked back over his shoulder, if his people were watching, they would know that the prince had literally just walked into uncharted territory, he just hoped they would follow suit with the same open mind. These people did not seem like beasts, or someone sent here to do them harm. So he had decided that for now, he would accept them, he continued forward a bit, until he was directly in front of the girl, he looked around the scene and noted that a few people seemed to be injured, along with the large, 'brute' that was in front of him. He had no idea what brute meant so assumed it was a nick name. "Do you have any injured men?" He spoke while inspecting the other mans face, pulling out a small, soft white cloth he held it out to the other man so he could wipe his face.

Jacques watched the boy and gave him a smile. His hazel eyes watched the other carefully. His sister also had hazel eyes, but she had reddish brown hair. She looked at her brother as he reached up and took the other’s hand gently in his hand.

“Thank you. Yes, we’re looking for our medical supplies,” he said and looked over his shoulder. His hand still wrapped around the others, he noticed and let it go. He looked to Jenna, she smiled as she offered her hand out to show him forward.

Jacques looked at Jenna and then touched his head as it stung. Jenna shrugged her shoulder and they walked towards the others that were injured. One man, a researcher had a broken leg that was in a make do splint and was the worst of all of them there. Mostly cuts and bruises that his medical team was stitching up as they got close.

“These are the ones that were injured while our sub was thrashed about,” Jenna said. Jacques looked at her and cocked an eyebrow. “Oh it was this giant shark looking creature.” She replied to his look.

“Sea Monsters, I have a question, are we under water still or on the surface?”

The smaller boy smiled as the other held onto his hand, he thought nothing strange of it, for maybe it was just a way of there people. He followed after her quietly, observing everything around him, it smelled strange to him, almost metalically. He was a bit relieved that he did not see any dead bodies, since he knew very well what probably caused the ship wreck and immediately felt bad. "Well," He began, "We have a lot of supplies if you need, however I just hope that would be well suited for you. I do not know if you are used to a different type of treatment than we are here." He bent down to pick up a stray military style hat that must have fallen off someone and ran his fingers over it lightly before looking back to the other and speaking, "The monster that attacked you giant whale machine, was the cracken. It has been there, guarding us for a very long time, so I am sorry to say that it must be our fault that you have crashed here. Though I must add, we certainly aren't in the sea, we aren't on the land or under it, we are lost. My name is Prince Aidan, and welcome to Atlantis." The moment he said that, his crystal glowed very brightly, and shouting could be heard, suddenly, Atlantians poored out of the trees, surrounding the group on the beach, they held spears in there hands and were yelling in Atlantian, everythign was hectic, but they were afraid to come to close to the strangers in there giant metal whale machine.

Jenna smiled and was happy that the male followed. Jacques listened to the boy talk about a kraken. He looked to his sister. “I thought the kraken was an octopus,” he asked, “not a shark thing.”

Jenna shrugged her shoulders and smiled at Aidan. “Atlantis… The Lost City of Atlantis?” Jenna asked her face was all of a child in excitement over Christmas.

Then when the others jumped out of the trees the military men all grabbed their weapons and held them up pointing towards the others. Jacques moved Jenna behind him as he lifted his M16 and moved forward. He didn’t know the language but it sounded hostile.

“Easy there,” he said to them and flipped the safety off his gun. “What’s going on?” he asked the prince, a bit confused as to why there were people with white hair wanting to attack them. “No sudden movement and no one shoots until I give the okay.”

The prince jumped quickly, eyes wide as he saw his people charging at them, "Stop! Stop it, please!" He cried out, holding up his arms in an attempt to calm his people. He was a bit afraid himself, these strangers seemed nice, however they were being threatened and he currently stood in the middle of them because of where he had been looking at the strangers people. He noted that all these men held up the metal objects and seemed to have them points at his people, so they were a kind of weapon. However, they all continued to scream about shout, the crystal around his neck glowed brighter and he yelled once more, only this time it was different, he was mad. His hair flared out a bit, his eyes seemed to even glow a bit themselves, as a plus of air seemed to emit from only his words. At that, all his people grew silent, this was the power, of Atlantis. "These people have come, crashed because of something that is there to protect us. It is our fault, and we will see to our guests, no danger only welcome." He spoke this in his own language, and a few people seemed to relax, until a small child that looked about 8 years old, stumbled out from the ground, fell to his face, sat back, looking at these strangers and started giggling. Somehow this managed to set off a calm, and almost joy in all the atlantians that had gather, as quickly as they had come to protect there prince, even quicker they came to greet there exciting guests. A few of the girls took off the flower lays that lay on there neck and smiling brightly offered then as gifts of apology, smiling all the while. The prince let out a sigh and relaxed as well, turning to the larger male he spoke, not harshly, but a hint of annoyance now, at obvious weapons being pointed at his people. "I am sorry, please, understand that we are not used to this kind of thing, we are a dying people and must protect each other. I am sorry, now, if you will put down your weapons, then we can show you and your men to where you can retrieve proper medical treatment and some good housing." There was however a hint of warning in his voice, he was excited for this change, but he had no idea what those weapons could do, and did not like that they where here.

Jacques looked at the boy that jumped between them and spoke to the other people. Jenna was looking from around him, her hands clenching at his flak jacket. She looked back towards Jacques and to the prince. He started to move forward and he took one hand off his M16 and made a motion with it. Several of his men lowered their weapons at once, and the others moved in closer towards Jacques and the rest of their team moving slowly so they would not provoke any of the natives of the land into attacking them.

“Lower your weapons,” he said finally when he saw that the white haired people did just that. He lowered his. “Safety on,” he called and clicked his into place. He stepped up beside the prince and watched as a child ran out and started to laugh. He smiled at her; Jenna looked around and went to the child with a large grin on her face.

Jacques watched his sister kneel down and talk with the child.

“What exactly do you mean by put down our weapons?” he asked the prince. “Understand that we have them for protection.” He gave the male a small smile, but one that said that he wasn’t willing to do walking around without said protection.

The prince nodded slowly as though he understood, " I understand, you wanting to protect you people, however, I have the same goal, these are my people. I do not know what your weapons can do. You cna stay as long as you like, but you will follow by our rules, and those are, no, foreign, weapons." He looked very young, however it was in moments like this, where he needed to asert his dominance that he truly shined as a prince. You may keep them in your rooms, but not carry then around my people, does that seem fair?" He turned around so he could face the other dead on, he stood nearly a foot shorter than him at least, but he was a prince, and proud and stood tall under the circumstances. Sighing he turned to the sister and spoke, "Please, understand, I want to welcome you, but the weapons can't be on arm at all times."

Jacques looked at the prince and then to his men and back to the white haired male that stood in front of him. Leave their weapons in their rooms. He didn’t like that idea at all. He gathered everyone around him. The soldiers came without complaint.

“As the rules here the prince in exchange for their kindness has asked that we leave our weapons in our rooms and not carry them around with us. Leave your daggers on, he only means the rifle and the pistols,” he said. “For their safety, you will disassemble all fire power, we don’t want one of them getting ahold of one of our weapons and discharging a round into themselves or anyone else. Is this understood?” he asked the men. They all nodded at his words. “Good, this is to be done when they show us some rooms. Take care with the injured and inform the researchers that their protection will be limited to hand to hand and daggers. You may go.”

He turned back to the prince as his men went back to what they were doing before. Jenna walked over to them and looked at Jacques.

“I am shocked that you’re willing to give up your firearms so easily.”

“I don’t want to cause unneeded trouble for you or us.” He replied to his sister.

The prince relaxed, happy now that at least there seemed to be common ground, stepping forward with a wide smile on his face, he spoke "Please, come. We will prepare food for you and some drinks to help revitalize you." As he spoke he place a hand on Jacques arm and nodded a silent thank you, since he was willing to comply with the other. The king would certainly not be very happy with him, at all, but he did not mind, it was time for a change here. Everything was buzzing, people were excited, and were throwing an entire festival for the new faces. The prince was clearly, very well liked with his people, he knew there names and socilized with many of them as they all walked to the castle, which was only a small, peice of what it once was, most of it was worn away by time, and lack of care by now. He made sure to stay close to the siblings though, he got the sense that they were the leaders here, or at least they were the most sociable with him.

Jacques smiled back at the prince and nodded his head. His hand went to the prince’s hand on his arm and patted it a couple of times. They started to walk with him and his other white haired men and women. He watched as the injured were also brought along carefully. Jenna was looking around and half the time turning around as she walked. Her face in complete awe, “this is amazing,” she said. “The graphical and architecture of this place. The history it much hold, its-“ she shook her head.

“Overwhelming?” Jacques asked her, she nodded at him but her grin gave way to her happy nature.

“Could I look around the city so I can understand the historical meaning to some of this and take pictures? This place is amazing,” she asked the prince. And then smacked her head. “I am such an idiot, I will introduce to you the research team. I am the head of the team, Jenna you already know. My second is Mark,” she said and a man with glasses raised his head. “And the others are Josh, Andrew and Tina,” he pointed to each one. Andrew seemed to be the one with the broken leg.

“I am the commanding officer of the researchers protection, we are a small military group, most of the soldiers wont talk much,” Jacques replied. Jenna looked at him with a frown. He shrugged a shoulder.

“You need to clean your head.”

“I’ll do that soon,” he answered. Jenna shook her head and went back to looking around.

The palace was very nice as they walked inside of it and Jenna started to head towards a wall. Jacques reached for her arm to stop her. “Jenna.” He warned, she came around with a small pout on her face.

A loud screaming was heard from upstairs and a few of the natives looked the the prince knowingly to which he simply shrugged and rubbed the back of his head sheepishly, turning he faced the other two. "I do not know how you can 'take' a picture, but feel free to do as you like, dinner will be in the dinning hall, and people will be coming in to fix up your wounded from there as well. Anther yell boomed and the prince sighed to himself before bounded up the stairs to face wrath of his svery angry grandpa. However 5 of the natives took over, and escorted the group to the dinnign hall, which was absolutley covered in various fruits and grains, and very strange looking food, some of it moving, some of it seemed to only have been killed moments ago. It took a good 20 minutes for the prince to return, and with him came the king, whom seemed much more serious than the prince himsself, he took a seat at the table and the prince stood behind hind, giving an apologetic smile to the siblings for how we knew the king was going to act. Now, the prince had dressed from his normal clothing and was in his festivities clothing which was much more intricate, with beads and ankel bracelets, if he stood in a certain way he could almost appear female. "Now, What brings you to my home?" The kind asked, staring directly at each of the foreigners.

Jacques and Jenna looked towards the yell and then the prince. They were led towards the dining hall and they all sat down. Jenna looked around at where she sat at the food. Jacques swallowed and leaned over. “Looks like your cooking,” he joked, but earned him a slap on his shoulder.

“You’re horrible,” she hissed back and then turned to look at the king. She looked down and then to her brother and then back towards the king she opened her mouth but Jacques spoke first.

“Our submarine was attacked, we crashed and landed on the beach, a few of our men were injured,” he said. “We didn’t come here to cause trouble. My sister and her group of researchers were sent out to explore the ocean floor caves, we were hired as protection for them.” He replied. “Prince Aidan has already informed me that our firearms are not welcomed, we plan on disabling them as soon as we get the rooms that we were told we could have until we can figure out how to get back.”

“The sub is broken, and I am not sure if we can repair it,” Jenna said looking to the king.

The king nodded slowly as he took in the two who had spoke, and began to eat without another word. The prince, however had taken a seat beside Jenna and served her up a large plate of food. "After this, I can take you two around? You said you wanted to take pictures? I am not sure what that that entails, however I am sure I can show you the scenery, plus I would rather not hang around here, where my grandfather is just waiting to give me a good whipping." Laughing lightly he stretched out, not touching the food that was resting on his own plate, "If you do not mind my asking, where do you come from?" He asked this question, looking directly into Jacques eyes. A few of the natives that were around were a bit surprized, the prince was usually rather quiet, he was very kind though, but usually a bit withdrawn, as though he were longing for something that would never come.

“That would be wonderful,” Jenna said as she watched as the food was piled on her plate and she looked towards Jacques for help. He chose his own food carefully. “I would love to show you, here,” she said and reached for her back pack and pulled out a camera. She showed it to Aidan. “This is a camera,” she told him, she pointed it at him and then clicked a button, it made a soft noise and then she moved it so Aidan could see the screen which he appeared on, seemingly frozen in time. “This is a picture, and we have some equipment that will take it from here and put it on paper.” She said with a smile.

Jacques looked up and meet the prince’s eyes. He gave a warm smile back towards him. “New York, America,” he answered. “We were born in Maine, but moved to New York when we were young.” Jenna nodded her head. “Jenna followed in dad’s footsteps and became a scientist slash researcher, and I joined the military.”

“Don’t let him fool you, he’s very smart for a military man, he could have become a researcher too. He likes historical things as well.”

“I don’t go giddy over it like you do,” he replied.

“I don’t go giddy,” she looked at him and he looked to her plate of wiggly things.

Aidan watched in awe, there he was, instintaniously! He reached over and took the camera lightly, looking at it very closely, such as a child might inspect a new bug they had caught. Smiling wide he handed it back and listened earnestly, "So, New Yok Amrica is where you are from? Do you guys have many big metal whales there too?" He did not pronounce New York America correctly at all, but at least he had tried. Without even a second thought he grabbed the girls hand lightly and pulled her from the seat, motioning for Jacques to follow as well. "Come come, there is much to see!" Ignoring the glare of his grandfather, he pulled her gently out of the room and down the stone steps, quickly leading her down a path through the woods until they came to a cave. To which he stood aside and allowed the two to enter while speaking, "This cave is where we get out crystals from, however you must never tell anyone else unless given permission, you two have very trustworthy faces, and I know you would not betray this trust." This was his biggest downfall, he was way to trusting. The sponcer, sitting in his high class office in new york was gettign impatient, it had been almost a full day since he had heard from thsoe he hired and the submarine tracker had gone off the map, if there was no reply by the next morning, he would be going himself, to see what had happened to his investment.

Jenna smiled and laughed as she watched him take the camera and look it over. She and Jacques smiled and laughed lightly.

“Its New York, the country New York is in, is America,” Jenna said as she was grinning. And then suddenly she was pulled away from her wiggling food. Jacques stood up and followed them. They looked around in the cave. It was very strange. Jenna looked at him and frowned as she stopped and looked to Aidan.

“As much as I really want to look around, maybe we should rest. We have injured men, and my brother is one of them and he should have someone look over his head wound,” she said calmingly. She clearly wanted to see and know more, but they had more important things to do. “We also need to get our equipment up and running so we can radio into the sponsor,” she looked to her brother.

“My sister’s right, all the exploring can wait until then. As for the subs, we have a lot of them, not we as in me and my sister but the human race we,” he said. Jenna giggled.

“You need to lay down. You said something about rooms? Do these rooms come with a bath?” she asked politely.

The smaller boy visably deflated, like a child would when there parent said they could not go play at the park. Stopping he realized all of what the others had gone through and realized he was being childish and unkind to his guests. However before taking them back he removed the crystal from around his neck, and craddled it in his hands, blowing at it softly it glowed a faint hue, he held it up to the cut on the mans forehead and in moments, it had healed, leaving only a small, silver scar.

Stepping back and crossing his arms he smiled and nodded, "There we are, i'm very sorry about my actions, I'm jsut a bit excited, we haven't had visitors in well over 200 years at least. Please, do excuse me." He laughed softly as he began to lead them back to the original castle, just beyound it were abandoned huts, where people used to live, but simply, over the years had died,or moved to a new hut. By the time they returned, all of the other men had been healed already with the power of the crystals that the locals wore around there necks, and were all settling into there temporary huts for the evening, the sun was setting fast and the moon itself was rising.
