I'm kinda curious about how others find out about yaoi

let me tell you how I did discover yaoi for first time xD and then tell me your story....

I was 17 or 18 years old,busy with studying, traveling a lot around the world to do my exams & study (still studying & travel) my brain was asexual & asexual myself (still asexual) so my sexual mind was very virgin to know or understand about anything sexual (honestly I have no idea other than how books f**k the brain, this was the only kind of porn I knew that days) XDDDDD :2yoyo4:

being friendless wasn't helpful to share my otakuness to have idea what yaoi or yuri is or something about anime and mangas (was otaku since childhood but school was stealing my love of anime to be a fan).. so when I discover a huge manga website to download in my long holiday, I randomly downloading manga from A to Z without noticing the manga types & genders till I reached the letter B of the list and downloaded the manga (brother by OUGI Yuzuha) it was my first yaoi manga........ &...... I died of the huge shocking shock of it & even had fever for days for learning something sexual for the first time in the age of 17 or 18 (too old already but .. xD )& with males???? :8onion74: whole my life I thought gays can go farther with only a kiss

Anyway, as for my story it's somehow simple and i bet most people are like me.

the same as u were, i was 180 degrees different. I mean i didn't experience whatever there is in sexual relations but my mind was and still pretty much open to everything in that concern.

One day (as few others) I was wandering on google and youtube to watch some anime kissing scenes. You know the ones where you get attracted to while you listen to a lovely music in the background!!

Anyway, at that moment a link brought me to a video which was about yaoi kissing. I wasn't really aware of the word yaoi at that time but according to the video description, i knew it was about gays.Although i knew that, i wanted to see it as a change of pace. I already have most of my male friends gay so i had no problem seeing what it was.

First i thought it was kissing only but when i opened and saw the video i was all like :cuteonion9:

A reaction where i was shocked to see more than kissing.. haha.. After that video, my knowledge of yaoi became larger and now here i am an extreme fujoshi who thinks about every two guys as a couple :cuteonion26:

I totally am thankful to that day because I found what i like in my life.. A load of sexy guys who are steaming of hotness and making my heart and body melt :cuteonion41::banhbao45:

I must say I was a little different, I started fairly young (15) with the whole sex thing but that's fairly normal where I grew up - I don't recommend this it was a mistake I really wish I had waited until I was older and in love.

just a regular day way back in '09, i was still in highschool.

it was evening, home alone and thought of watching hentai in a porn site.

then, after 2 or 3 vids of hentai i saw a thumbnail in which has a title that roughly mention about "gay anime sex" and i was like:

"huh?" and clicked it.

 

it was a 30 minute long video but just a few minutes in, there was already a smex scene. it left me stunned and i don't really know what to react. maybe after 10 minutes where it's normal scene now with dialogues, i laughed my ass off and left confused to what've just saw.

 

i was so shocked i just laughed it off but i still managed to finish it. after that, i reflected what i just saw. it didn't gross my out nor disturbed me; more like it's surprised me that it exist. though i still don't know what's called. good thing there's a comment section so i read them and found out what i just saw is called "yaoi" and the title is "Sensitive Pornograph".

 

i google-d right away and found links and forums like from aarinfatasy, mangafox etc. but it's still confusing for me at that time since i wasn't into anime/manga before. then i randomly clicked on Yaoi Spectrum Nexus where i found collection of manga i could read for free. there, i read tons of yaoi in one sitting and the key to continue my journey to Yaoi world; also to anime/manga/cosplay/j-music pop culture world of Japan.

Haha, Well I was just wandering around searching for new animes to watch... Then i clicked on Junjou not knowing it was a yaoi. Back when I was 12, I was very addicted to the genre Shoujo. I always read Manga (s) like Kaichou-wa Maid-sama, Special A, Gakuen Alice, etc,.. I was also an avid Naruto fan and my OTP there was NaruHina so being an innocent girl, I searched for some NaruHina Doujinshi (s) in Youtube. And then I accidentally clicked a 'NaruSasu' one and I didn't notice it so I just left the video to load. And when I watched it, I saw lots of Naruto and Sasuke kissing, and well, they ended up in bed. But surprisingly, I wasn't disgusted nor did I feel awkward about it. And then I continued to read Doujins about them until I finally moved on to some official Yaoi OVAs and well now I'm a Junior in high school. XD

I was looking for anime love scenes because it just makes me go crazy and i get all happy inside! foxy3 while i was looking for random scenes, i came across one with 2 boys. the title didn't say anything about 2 boys being in it though. I clicked on it and when it started i thought, "Oh this is yaoi." How did i discover yaoi? I can't really recalled how but i remember when one of my penpals ( i lost their contact now) asked me if i know yaoi or like yaoi ( i don't even know the term BL yet) and of course my respond to that is obvious since i rarely hear/ see the term used cause of majority are shounen and shoujo. So, it was my first revelation of the term but i probably didn't aware that i already had the 'BL' symptom in me when i watched MS Gundam Seed which i oppose anyone to interfere Yzak and Dearka friendship...lol. Even if everyone seem to pair DearMiriallia (?) can't remember her name properly.

My sis also accidentally bought BL manga but i forgot the title and i can only remember the drawing style is a bit old school, the story wasn't memorable and doesn't really click my interest. So i forgot the whole story and I dunno where the heck is that manga now.

 

So, i discovered this one site sugar88(?) which has some yaoi manga and I tried to read oneshot manga first which I prepared for some awkward situation. I think it was a oneshot by Sakuraga Mei (which I was like 'so-both-guys-can-do-that-too?' expression) and also Abiru Junjou by Ougi Yuzuha(now that i remember). Yeah, i started with some smutty yaoi...Yamane Ayano, Ougi Yuzuha, Sakurai Shushushu etc. As for BL/yaoi anime it was Gakuen Heaven which i found while i was shopping on dvd/cd store that have discount that day. Oh...snap i discovered Junjou Romantica after that. And then i was totally drawn into the world of no return...ehehe

I didn't know of BL until I was in my 2nd year of high school. My classmates, both anime fans, showed me Kyo Kara Maoh introducing me to the characters of the story. At that time, I was still very much immersed in Hetero pairings so I didn't really show that much interest to the show (I was interested in Wolfram then though). It was actually on my 4th year that I fully jump the bandwagon. The anime that pulled me in was Death Note. (For some reason, writing that was really embarrassing). When I was 11-12 years old, a friend of mine got me into Death Note (this is relevant, I promise!). While reading Death Note, I really liked Mello and Matt as a couple. But, I thought Mello was a girl for some reason- I was totally convinced nobody could tell me otherwise. But, one day my friend told me "Y'know Mello and Matt are both boys right?" and I guess they were convincing enough and I was like "Huh, really?" but, I continued shipping them because I was in too deep. This is also when I finally had access to internet so, of course, I googled the /hell/ of of Death Note on youtube and found Matt/Mello AMVs and I did eventually get into Deviantart where I saw some real Matt/Mello yaoi fanart. It was...interesting, I was really confused like "what the hell is going on?" right but, I went on to get way into yaoi after that. I also got into yuri around the same time. Hentai came after I started high school.
