UndertheWeather
Megacorporations: Stewart-Dawson Corporation and Hudson Corporation Note: Augmentation is pretty much replacement or installation of prosthetic parts or nanochips into the body (e.g. nanochips in brain or prosthetic arms) that may enhance performance, and allow the bearer to perform some superhuman feats (not immortal/godly/levitation/etc., just merely performance that cannot be done by normal human being because of the nature of their physiology, example of superhuman feats, faster speed, sharper eyesight, higher jumps, etc.). Everyone has the choice to have augmentations, but there are limitations to augmentations. Because they are so-called foreign objects, there are side-effects to them; some side-effects are better-known, others are not yet known. So, the more augmentation someone has, the larger the risk of getting side-effects that are not known, and may not be dealt with whatever "medication" that is currently available in the market. Bearers of augmentation parts will have to perform maintenance on their augmentations frequently, and also take "medications" that forces the body to "think" that the augmentations are not foreign objects. Side-effects may include sharp pains at the site of installation or replacement, or in the brain, muscle spasms, fever, weakened immune system, etc., and occasionally death. I created 3 just because I had to use the second picture >.> and they don't fit the image of a hacker. And whatever else you want to add about the theme/setting, feel free to Name: Youri van Rossum Age: 27 Occupation: Hacker; head of the Digital Faction (DF) of Hudson Corporation Strong Points: Technology-proficient and quick-to-think Weaknesses: While he is able to wield firearms and other weapons, his self-defence ability is poor Personality: Level-headed and reserved, but sometimes incapable of shutting-up during situations which involve risks of getting harmed, if not killed Likes: Birds; Whisky; The Cold Dislikes: Animal-killing ("They're all about to go extinct!"); Dust/Sand Augmentations: 1.5% of his brain is made up of nanochips, 50% of them nanochips are replacement of neurons as opposed to mere installations Description: Following the sudden and mysterious death of Nathan Miller, Youri was promoted to the unfilled position as head of the DF. The move by the "higher ups" was not without friction, though such tensions only occurred at the individual level - towards Youri himself. Rumours spread like wild fire. His young age - he was 23 at the time of the promotion - did not help the situation, neither did his shoddy background. Many were convinced that he was the murderer. Working in Hudson became quite a pain to Youri. He need not deal with his underlings dropping out of the faction given that it was regulated by the system, but working as a leader was difficult, with his underlings refusing to acknowledge his authority and at most times, attempting to avoid him. Pretty soon the antagonism escalated and physical violence erupted, at which point the corporation stepped in and silenced any malefactors with force. The hostility died down after about a year, and equilibrium returned to the DF. History: Like many of the personnels in Hudson, Youri was known as the child of Hudson for being born and bred in the corporation. But he was not a pure 'born-and-bred', he was brought to the corporation as a child, and was raised with his test-tube-babies associates. Since young, he worked primarily in the DF, developing his skills and abilities in IT. Name: (Left) Dmitry Biryukov Age: 29 Occupation: Military personnel of Hudson Corporation; Captain Strong Points: Combat-proficient, especially in firearms Weaknesses: Irresponsible, Problem-solves with fists (firearms) Personality: Loud-mouthed, Short-tempered Likes: Pastries, especially profiteroles, Fighting Dislikes: Sissies Augmentations: [Choice of firearms: L85A2 rifle with L123A2 UGL; Semi-automatic SIG P226] Right arm replaced with prosthetic arm for better strength in combat and quicker reflexes Description: When violence broke out in the DF, the Corporation had wisely decided to dispatch Dmitry and his choice of units both in numbers and persons to disperse the brouhaha. He was first excited, but later thought that it was a complete waste of time; DF personnels to him were a bunch of mice only capable of nibbling at one another. He was even more annoyed when he had to stick around for a couple more months in that hell-hole filled with people who would pass out with a punch in the face. History: One of Hudson's test-tube born-and-bred. Name: (Right) Eamonn Ashcroft Age: 33 Occupation: Military personnel of Stewart-Dawson Corporation; Lieutenant-General (a sniper) Strong Points: Combat-proficient, Organized, Strategic Weaknesses: Very poor performance in groups Personality: Laid-back, Not very friendly or open Likes: Tobacco; Swords; Sun Dislikes: Rain; Dust/Sand; Snow; Mist; Wind; Loud-mouthed People Augmentations: [Choice of firearms: Sniper Rifle L118A1 AWC; Semi-automatic SIG P226]; Eyes-augmentations; Cornea-installations and 5% visual cortex-replacement with nanochips for higher visual accuracy in combat; Left-eye cornea replacement is much more complex Description: Eamonn had climbed the military ladder without much difficulties; he was a natural talent as a sniper, but was not much of a team-player even though as a strategist, he was quite bright. He is often seen carrying a sword with him, which he often uses as a weapon in combats. It was not the best choice of weapon, but he seemed to enjoy playing with it. History: Eamoon joined S-D when he was only 13. His nurtured skills, and implanted augmentations were mostly from his time in S-D, though there were several crucial parts of him that were acquired from before his adolescent years. At the age of 7, Eamonn was infected by a rare disease which crippled his eyes, and led him to be blind within days. Because his family was well-off, he was lucky to have his eyes replaced with an augmented pair, which were later installed with higher-performance corneas. On top of that, he had always been exposed to combat given his long family history in the military.
sVerrine

Name: Ralph Patrick Age: 25 Occupation: Hacker; Chief of Data Security (DS) at Stewart-Dawson Corporation Strong Points: perfectionist, methodical, works best under stress conditions Weaknesses: apathetic and individualist, reason for not being able to work in anything team-orientated Personality: demanding with his subordinates, prone to insensitivity and extremely mistrustful. Casualties: He has a tongue-piercing. Likes: Arabic coffee, Bordeaux wine, tobacco and guns. He secretly has a sweet-tooth. Dislikes: Incompetence; work that has been completed poorly; people who are over-friendly with him Augmentations: 100% retina replacement and 50% of the optic nerve consisting of nano-chips; his visual cortex has also been altered in order for the optic nerve to function properly, but the percentage is unknown. Description: Unlike most of the personnel that has a higher statute in the corporation, Ralph have to prove over the years that his existence is absolutely vital, if not critical for anything that the firm needs to achieve. At the same time, he didn't let himself manipulated. Brilliant when creating security softwares for the corporation's data system, his ambition can be considered an easy-to-achieve target. History: Being born without the visual perception, at the age of 6, his parents considered him useless for the harsh world in which they were living, so for the right sum of money, they had sold him to the Stewart-Dawson Corporation which was experimenting on children at that time. Ralph was the first to ever undergo a 100% replacement surgery and survive to the side effects. In fact, after completely growing accustomed to the foreign objects implanted inside him, his body presented no other types of side-effects that people usual had after surgery, nor the need for frequent maintenance sessions. There were many theories which tried to explain the peculiarity, but when tested on other subjects, they died within hours. Ralph himself looked into it, and found some documents stating that there indeed existed a handful of people with a similar condition, but all of them died at the age of 30 due to a heart-attack. He believed that the reason must have been that they abused the power of using augmentations, and at some point their body consisted from more nano-technology then natural cells. But that was just Ralph's theory. Being abandoned, Ralph became very mistrustful and decided that trusting others was just a mere formality, as there was no true meaning of the word 'trust'. With this philosophy, he tread towards his current position.
