Raiji
For the millionth time that night, Ryzu sighed and turned around. Not long after he came home, neko changed into his pj's and crawled into his bed. After what turned out to be a long and rather exciting day, he needed the safety of his bed but it seemed that the blanket he was constantly pulling over his head wouldn't be so compliant today - no matter how hard he tried to keep it on it kept falling from the bed, resembling how his thoughts rushed back to Teru and the previous day. Even with his best effort, it seemed like Teru was rather unhappy when he left him. He could understand it, of course, rejection was never a thing that made anyone happy but... He barely reacted when Ryzu made the embarrassing move and pecked him. What in the world was he thinking, doing something like that moments after he said no to Teru's offer. "Psh." A quiet curse escaped Ryzu's lips before he snuggled under his blanket once again in a desperate attempt to fall asleep. Neko couldn't help but yawn just as the clock settled down on 3 pm. He had another hour before he could go home, presumably to bash his head against the wall. Checking his phone for the fifth time in the last half an hour only to see he had no missed calls, Ryzu sighed earning a curious look from his manager. "Something on your mind?" The old man was nice, but neko had no intention of sharing his thoughts so he just shook his head and proceeded with the usual business. Since he came to work that day he was just so slightly nervous, every time the bell chimed announcing someone's entrance his head would flew up and he couldn't stop himself from hoping he would see Teru walking in. It was rather annoying how hard was to kick that man out of his thoughts, so after a while he just gave up and more than once did the manager caught him staring at the certain table with dreamy look playing on his face. Not long after, Ryzu found himself standing before the cafe and staring at the sky. Obviously he was in the way to a lot of people, late afternoons were hardly the time to stand around in the middle of the road, but he didn't seem to mind. When a group of giggly tourists finally bumped into him, startling him out of his thoughts, neko pulled out his phone and dialed a number that was playing in his mind most of the day. "Hi. Umm... I was wondering did you maybe had second thoughts about that meal?" Ryzu bite his lip nervously, he went through what he was about to say countless times but when he heard Teru's voice, it all kind of turned into a scrambled mess. "I'm not the best cook but I promise I won't poison you or anything." Neko heard his voice and he could only wonder how in the world was he able to say something stupid like that. "I-It's not like I would ever do that anyway.. Uhhh."
Gatichan
The email he’d received from the police president sounded very promising. Two Nekos had been apprehended as they’d tried to once again steal a supposed granny’s handbag. The stooping grandmother, however, had turned out to be a cleverly disguised policeman with a lot of makeup. The derelict station where the crime would have taken place had been the same one as before, but policemen had been waiting in hiding and after the first Neko had jumped the grandmother, the hidden policeman had sprung from their hiding places to apprehend the criminals, who had been caught red-handed. Right then they were in police custody and since the modus operandi was so similar to the previous attack, it was obvious that the criminals were the same. Neither of them had wanted to speak to the police yet, but it appeared as if they had looked interested in taking part in the study that Teru was doing. This was a great piece of news and Teru immediately got on the phone to the Todai, telling his faculty that if all went well, he’d have two alive Nekos to interview shortly. And then, he got on the phone to call Ryzu. But then Teru saw that it was only three in the morning and decided not to bother Ryzu. The waiter was probably already sound asleep and happily dreaming about something- the last person Ryzu would want to hear that late at night would be Teru. So instead, Teru switched his phone off again, wrote the president a quick email and then went to sleep. So tired was he after his long day spent walking outside and the early hours of the morning spent working on his doctorate that he slept through the greater part of the day. Waking up around two o’ clock, Teru got a shock: he was supposed to move to his new apartment that day! Concentrating only on his task, Teru quickly showered, packed his few belongings in and after having checked his room to make sure that he wasn’t leaving behind anything, he checked out. Taking a taxi to the apartment complex, Teru went to see the owner and after they’d shaken hands and Teru had once again been filled in on the house rules, he was left alone to arrange himself inside his new home. It was then, as he was setting up his notebook and cell phone, that he realized he’d forgotten to switch it back on again…and also forgotten to call Ryzu. Planning on calling him, Teru began to smile happily when his phone rang and he saw that Ryzu was calling him. Surprised to hear Ryzu’s insecure voice, Teru shook his head. “No, nothing like that! I moved today, remember?” he reminded the waiter and then chuckled when his stomach rumbled. “Actually, now that you mention it, I’m starved. I’d love to see you again- where could we meet? I’ve been informed that they’ve caught those delinquent Nekos and I wanted to ask you if you wanted to come down to question them with me,” he said, already opening his brand new closet to figure out which clothes he should wear- something casual, or more elegant? Should he buy some wine for the meal? “Don’t worry about cooking for me- how about we cooked together? I’m not much of a cook myself, but together we’d probably have a good time,” he said, his voice warm. It was incredible how fast his mood had risen upon hearing Ryzu’s voice.
