The Tired Oak Grove:

A large forest with many different pockets of land. Swamps, meadows, water falls and more. The forest harboured different kinds of animals, the most prominent being wolves and their prey. A large chunk of the forest is ruled by one pack, The Tides. The one pack that Kudo, the shiba inu dog, is a part of as well as Buanna's new pack. The humans have a hard time in this forest. Not only because of the different wolf packs but also other carnivores that walk around the thicket. Yet they constantly advance into these lands to hunt and collect wood. How the story unfolds, is to be told in this rp.

Name

Kudo

Age:

20

Gender:

Male

Position:

Uke

Race:

Shiba Inu Dog

Personality:

Kudo is really reckless and often jumps into fights. Though he doesn't want to admit it, he cares for others really really much. Even if he doesn't know them. He trying, keyword trying, to keep his distance to others because of a reason but though he tries to keep away from you, in the end he will still try to cheer you up and be with you. Did i say that he has a strong sense of justice? Well no? You will know if you see him defending someone that is being bullied. Lets just say that there will be more than just a few scratches.

History:

Kudo was adopted by a wolf pack even though said pack was being attacked by his parents and their humans. They were hunters. As the only dog and also considered enemy that lived with the pack, he doesn't have many friends. There are few that help him out sometimes but if you can call them friends is another thing altogether. Either way, the time has come for the comming of age ceremony. Usually you need to go hunt a special animal with a partner you want to spend the rest of your life with. Did i say that homosexuell pairs are a normality here?

The ritual takes place like this. The ones reaching the age of 20 need to pair up with their beloved, or soon to be, and need to go hunting as a pack. Every pair needs to help each other in the hunt. The special animal is a bear. And to slay a bear, you need the help of all pairs. If you succeed in this, you will be seen as a full flegded member of the pack.

The only problems are, that one Kudo is a dog and not a wolf and second, nobody wants to have a dog as their long time husband/wife. Though Kudo is able to hunt, he is in no aspect a match for a wolf.

Name:

Buanna

Gender:

Male

Position:

Seme

Race:

Wolf

Personality:

Buanna is often mean and rude, will never refuse a fight, unless it's absolutely useless, at least in his opinion. He actually likes both feeling power and rarely, helping out others. Most of the time he'll leave one to die rather than save him - he simply doesn't care about anyone else than him... Though there is that one person who catches his interest. For him, Buanna would probably do anything - maybe even kill himself. See, once he starts something, he doesn't stop until it's done perfectly.

History:

When he was fourteen, he was banned from his pack because he left his partner to die - in his words, she was far too weak to survive anyway. After wandering around for more than a bit, Buanna was attacked by humans. He was wounded rather badly, yet to his luck, another pack decided to take him in. Even a person as mean as he was, he couldn't help but feel thankful. He pays great respect to the elder - the one who found him, and also found his interest - someone he never expected. A simple dog. Without showing it too much, Buanna always observed him, sometimes helped him out. All the while, he was making sure the other didn't realize his interest towards him...

The last snow flakes slowly melted in the spring sun, leaving only puddles of water behind. The air was smelling fresh and isn't icy like the last few months. Squirrels and other smaller animals were running around, collecting food and exercising their aching muscles. It had been a rather harsh winter, only eating the minimum and conserving your strength was the keep to live through it. But now the winter season was over, leaving room for the new start in life. Kudo isn't an exception. With sluggish movements he made his way outside the den, stretching his arms and yawning loudly. "Man, thank god it's spring." he muttered and looked around. The flowers were already sprouting and trees were comming back to life. It was still slightly cold but only in the morning. The dog was sure that it would grow warmer over the day so he didn't bother with clothing himself accordingly.

Nobody else was awake yet thankfully, leaving Kudo to finish his morning ritual. Since it was only early spring the water of the river would still be cold but the dog couldn't live with the knowlegde that he wasn't able to properly wash himself in winter. So he continued his way to the flowing river, fully intenting to take a bath even though it was still cold. His tail wagged at the thought to finally feel clean again. It didn't take long for him to arrive since the river was merely a 10 minute march away from their camp. Getting rid of his clothing and surpressing a shudder that wanted to appear he stepped into the river.

At first Kudo wanted to surpress the screams of 'COLD!' since he didn't think it would be that cold but after a while he was able to adjust to the water wamrth, leaving him only with goose bumps. "I need to be quick, i don't want to catch a cold after all." he spoke yet again to himself and began scrubbing his body. It wasn't easy to be a dog among wolves but Kudo managed but because of his race he didn't have friends, thats why he developed an unhealty habit of speaking to himself at times. But being the ever positive dog that he is, Kudo believes that all will be solved in due time. The dog might not change into a wolf but he will surely find a few friends in the future.

Buanna let his tongue slip between his lips to wet them at least a little bit while his cold, silver eyes observed his surroundings. He remained unnoticed to everyone and everything - he truly disliked attention. The wolf let out a small breath when he saw the one person he always enjoyed observing. A simple dog, seemingly nothing special... But something about him drew Buanna's attention. He didn't know what it was - his appearance, his personality or his voice, but he could never keep his eyes off of him.

Quietly, the wolf began following Kudo with a barely noticable smile on his face. This idiot was going to wash himself in the river when it was this cold? Who even did that? Buanna lightly shook his head as he ran quietly through the forest, avoiding stepping on any branch or something else that could possibly cause noise. What he wanted least was Kudo noticing him, after all. If he knew that he was following the dog around.. Buanna wasn't too sure how he'd react.

Buanna licked his lips once more as he stopped and began watching how the other carefreely stripped of his clothing and stepped into the river. His silver eyes almost hungrily trailed over the red head's body, not leaving even one detail unnoticed. Maybe it was lust that drove him to almost stalk the other - maybe it was something that he didn't know of. The silver-haired male sighed out softly as he narrowed his eyes and watched how the dog washed himself. He actually felt pity for him... Buanna knew just how the wolves treated him. He even heard some comments about Kudo from his so-called friends... Pathetic, useless, worthless. In their eyes, Kudo seemed to be just that.

Kudo yawned yet again and dived under the water to was his bed head. After a few seconds he emerged again and shook his body. "Phew, that was refreshing...." he said, making his way towards the shore again. He hadn't been that deep in the water, only shortly over his hip, so he made haste in drying himself with a cloth he had brought with him. Kudo didn't bother that much with nudity. It was not like many were already awake after all. But in the end it wouldn't matter, he had nothing to hide on his body since the most obvious is always showing anyway. His ears and tails were a striking feature, not just because they were fiery red but instead because one could clearly see that he was a dog. No wolf possesed a curl tail like a shiba inu dog did after all. But he didn't want to show his best piece longer than necessary anyway so he clothed himself and rubbed his arms. His hair was still a bit damp but at least it got it's former clean state back, it didn't look dirty anymore. Kudo made his way towards a larger boulder and sat down. It would be time for grooming, his hair would stick in any possible direction if he didn't do it. He smothered his locks with his hands and dried the insides of his ears with the cloth. After deeming his hair groomed enough he started on his tail. It was a bit harder to do so since it wasn't as long as other dogs or wolves, so Kudo had to bend a bit to fully reach it.

After deeming himself cleaned enough he stopped and just sat there, enjoying the silence. There wasn't much that he was able to hear, just chirping and a few rustling sounds now and then from the animals around him. Even the sun made it's presence known and shone the first warm sunrays onto earth. It was welcoming and the dog couldn't surpress a sigh. Spring was a nice season but also the season for fights and what not. It was usual the time the alpha of their pack reinforced the food chain in their pack. Many youths would challange him or other packs from their forest from that matter. It was also the time for fighting over females or their favourite wolf that is. Since it was usually the time to create the pair that was needed for the ritual there were more fights than usual. Thankfully Kudo hadn't really been involved in most of them, since he didn't find anyone interesting enough to live with them his whole life. And nobody was interested in him for that matter. But Kudo always made sure to stay back most of the time, those aggresive males were rather dangerous for a dog like him.

But enough of that, Kudo decided to get a little morning snack. Usually their pack hunts in a party but Kudo didn't need help with small game. Though he is a dog, he is still fast and intelligent enought to hunt a rabbit. Either drive it into a corner or surprise it. And thats what Kudo decided to do. Though he has a rather unnatural color to hunt in the wild, it did help him in autumm. But since it is spring he had to be extra careful to not alert his food. But before the surprise attack could happen, he needed to find his prey. So he sniffed the air for any traces and soon found one. It was a bit farther away from camp but it shouldn't be in another packs territory so he should be safe. The Tides pack owned a large part of the forest so there was lots of space to hunt, the only think you might meet is a stray rogue wolf.

Buanna continued to observe the other as he dried himself off - seemingly being careful about it. Quite obvious that the dog cared a lot about his appearance - or maybe just the feeling of being clean. The wolf who was observing let out a barely audible sigh - he himself enjoyed being clean, as much as it was possible. In fact, he'd washed himself - obviously not in the freezing cold river - this morning. His eyebrows raised the slightest bit when he noticed Kudo sniffing the air - had he realized Buanna was here?

Quickly getting ready to run, Buanna narrowed his eyes - and slowly relaxed. The dog was going to catch something for breakfast, at least that seemed possible from his behaviour. The wolf couldn't supress the slight smirk that appeared on his face - it always was quite amusing to watch how Kudo 'hunted'. It was fun seeing him sometimes struggle even with a bunny - not once he watched how it took the red head some time to drive it into a corner and then finally kill it off. Buanna never found too much of a trouble to hunt alone - he really wasn't one to work with others. Even if he did go with other wolves, often he'd wander off on his own and end up catching himself something. If his partner was weak... He'd rather leave him than help him or her out. Excatly why he was thrown out of his previous pack - he left his partner, a young wolf Ada alone in a hunt. She died, and he wasn't one to lie - she was weak in his eyes.

With a soft sigh, the lean wolf began following Kudo once more. He hoped that the other wouldn't do anything stupid again... Buanna narrowed his eyes as he began running without making as much of noise as the wind would when it would blow through old leaves. The wolf was a perfect hunter - he was quiet, he was fast and he was strong. He'd even caught a deer by himself some time ago - that was one of those few times when he got a praise from the elder... Buanna could remember how proud he was of himself back then.

(Sorry, a bit short but i didn't really know what to write but don't worry, i have got something planned. :3 Feel free to toss in your ideas though)

The dog continued the track and was being sneaky about it. A shiba inu dog wasn't made for the hunt but he did possess the necessary instincts to do so. Kudo had to be able to time his attack pretty well and make sure that he prey wouldn't be able to run, or at least would have trouble doing so. It didn't take long before he saw it, a black hare that nibbled on some freshly grown leaves. Kudo didn't waste time and took cover behind a bush. His ears were standing upright, trying to take in as much sounds as possible. His crimson coloured eyes were fixated on the hare's back, his hands were on the ground. It was essential to be firm on the ground so one can easier push himself forward to their unsuspecting prey. But it wasn't the right time yet, the hare was still not in perfect range and not distracted enough with eating yet. It would take some time but Kudo was ready to wait as long as needed. But when the first opportunity arrises, he will strike.

((It's fine, don't worry ^-^ I too have something in mind, but I'd rather wait for that >

Buanna barely held in an annoyed groan at what position the dog took to wait for the rabbit. Shivers began running up his spine as he hid in a way he could observe Kudo without being noticed. Even a young cub knew that this kind of a position would fail... Unless the hare was to move closer to the red head - which was highly doubted - Kudo wouldn't be able to get his prey... And would probably be disappointed. Buanna had seen how the other failed on his hunts quite a few times - even if Kudo seemed to be not too upset, he could sense the disappointment. Dogs always failed at hiding their emotions - their tail constantly betrayed them. Be it wagging, pressed up between their legs or raised up high - it was easy to know what they were feeling like.

  • 2 weeks later...

It was true that Kudo wasn't a good hunter, he hadn't been raised like a wolf and thus he was missing the experience or the practice in hunting or fighting. As a raised dog he was used to chasing around the prey and let the human do the job of killing. But since the time where he was adopted into the pack he had to do something different and nobody wanted the job of teaching him how to do things. The shiba inu had been ignored in favor of raising one's own offspring. Everything Kudo knows up to this point is self taught. It wasn't much and there is no question that he would be dying if the pack didn't take care of him. Kudo felt bad to be practically a freelancer in the pack, eating and sleeping but not doing anything. The dog was already of age for the ceremony but his physicall build was far away. He might posess the muscles and reflexes already but he was missing the knowlegde and the experience. A dog can only do so much without help. It was how he was raised. As a pub he was pampered by his parents and also by the humans so he didn't need to actually think for himself. It was hard to suddenly change from that, at least Kudo had made it this far so he was happy but.......it was just not good enough.

Though these thoughts constantly plagued his mind, he never stoped staring at the bunny. His breathing was shallow and he was kneeing completely stiff. The hare doesn't seem to notice him since he continued to eat the leaves. It was also thanks to the wind direction that the hare didn't smell or sense him. The hare was soon done with the fresh leaves and stood up on it's hind legs to look for new food. Thankfully Kudo choose a good food place for the hare since it soon made it's way towards the flowers that grew in front of Kudo's hiding place. Hopefully nothing happens so that the hare won't notice him before it is to late for it to run away. But in this part of the forest nothing was certain.

Buanna bared his fangs as he watched the rabbit change its place - alright, now this way Kudo should be able to catch it... But for some reason, the wolf could feel shivers running up and down his spine, as if something was about to happen. He quickly glanced around and let out a soft, barely audible growl - there was a goddamn fox sneaking towards the hare. Hell, if Kudo got near to that bitch... Who knew what might happen. Possibly, the dog would be hurt.

The silver-haired male bared his fangs once more and let out a warning growl - this time it seemed that the fox had hear it... And stopped. She had a very annoyed expression on her face as she hid behind the bushes while Buanna glanced over to the hare - it was weirdly in the same place. It seemed like it hadn't noticed either of them... Then hopefully Kudo hadn't either. Slowly, the wolf began changing his place to get closer to the fox who now seemed a bit terrified- and for Buanna, somewhat seen. Only after a while did he remember that once he'd taken her prey - and even hurt her quite a bit... My, what a coincidence.

He narrowed his eyes as a warning while the fox slowly lowered her whole curvy body to the ground - completely unnoticed by everyone now, and also showing that she was giving up. Buanna reached his goal and turned back to observe the dog.

The hare came closer and closer and Kudo made himself ready to jump. In favor to get his prey, he ignored everything around him and focused solely on the hare. In one swift jump and one careless moment of the hare, Kudo killed the hare with his body weight and a swift bite into the hare's neck. After realising what he accomplished, his tail began to wag. Kudo opened his slightly bloodied mouth and let the death hare drop inside his waiting hands. With a lick over his mouth he began to dig in. Kudo learned that he should eat his food rather fast or else someone might decide to steal it from him. So he didn't wait before digging in. The only think he did to make his breakfeast more enjoyable was sitting down and make himself as comfortable as possible. It wasn't long before he finished half of it and heared a rustle to his right. As if he was stung by a bee he sprung up from his sitting position and retreated back, the half finished hare dropped during the haste.

Large brown paws were comming into view, followed by a large snout and a grunt. Kudo backed up further, careful not to make to much movements. Meeting a bear wasn't uncommon and it was probably lured towards the dog because of the fresh scent of blood. Thankfully it totally disregarded the dog and started to eat the hare. Merely a big mouthful was needed to let the food dissapear inside the bear's mouth. It grunted yet again and raised his head, looking towards the much smaller dog. It wasn't completely full yet and made way towards Kudo. The shiba inu only continued to retreat and made himself ready to bolt. He knew that bears weren't really active hunters concerning meat so they usually didn't chase. Only if they were hungry enough and hopefully the snack of the hare made the bear to sluggish to run after the dog.

Buanna's silver eyes widened as he saw the bear coming into view. For a moment, his body froze up and he cursed while the fox snickered and used the chance to get away - not before she sent a glare to the wolf's direction. The male growled softly as he jumped out of his hiding place and tugged Kudo closer. "Run!" He almost hissed out as he dragged him off. Clearly, the wolf wasn't satisfied with the dog's speed as he suddenly pulled him on his back and dashed off, leaving the bear far behind him. Buanna only stopped when they reached the same river from before as he dropped the red head down on the grass and groaned.

"Idiot." He grunted out as he shook his head and slowly walked to the river to wash his hands and face, letting out a soft breath. "Why did you go off alone? You know there are worse things there." The wolf said somewhat coldly as he turned to face the other, tilting his head. His grey ears twiched slightly as he sighed out and slowly sat down onto the ground, running a hand over his hair before tossing a glare at the red head, staying silent afterwards. He wasn't even supposed to be seen...

Kudo didn't look away from the bear, no he was trying to tell what the bigger animal would do. It was certain that he would crush the dog if he wanted to. But for now it seemed to be thinking about what to do. It was a good time to run before the bear got active. And it seemed like his little stalker thought the same since another wolf soon jumped out of the bushes to his left and dragged him along at a speed that Kudo wasn't able to follow without stumbling now and then. So he was a bit surprised when Buanna picked him up and a little yip escaped his mouth at being suddenly carried. Soon the scenery changed to the place where Kudo had taken a bath earlier. Only the angry roar was heared from the bear before everything was silent again. It took a while for Kudo to grasp the danger of the situation he was in and only jerked out of it as soon as his butt hit the ground.

The dog stared at the other, a wolf of his own pack. Kudo saw him only sometimes and when he did it was from far away. The other had light coloured hair, silver and it was tidy and groomed. Kudo was betting that the other got tons of females after him. If it weren't for the scowl he was wearing. Kudo's ears lay flat on his skull after hearing the words the other said. Yes he was an idiot for wandering of alone but the dog learned that he couldn't really rely on the pack. They might give him food but only due to the alpha's orders. Nobody else wanted to associate with him so it was hard to ask for a favour from them. Nobody wanted to hunt with a dog.

His curl tail wasn't wagging or doing anything, you couldn't really tell with a curl tail but Kudo was sad and feeling sorry. He didn't think a bear would suddenly appear but he was focused on the hare so he hadn't notice the change in scent. "I....i am sorry. I....wanted to prove that i can hunt my own food but i guess it's just not the right time yet." he mumbled the end under his breath. No matter how often the wolves told him he was useless, Kudo still believed that someday he will be like them. He might be to optimistic but that was just a trait of his. His head hung low and he repeated everything that happened inside his mind again. He would have been able to run away from the bear probably but it wasn't good to take risks like that. That reminded him, where did the other come from? It wasn't like he smelled the other comming closer, was he hunting too. "Uhm, i am sorry for everything. I probably interrupted your own hunt right?" he said, looking at the other again.

Buanna rolled his eyes as he sighed and stretched before slowly laying down on the ground and closing his eyes at the sun that was shining brightly. "If you at least picked the right place to wait, you would've caught it." He muttered out with a sigh as he opened his eyes the slightest bit, seemingly relaxing on the soft, green grass. He may have been a great hunter, but he truly loved to relax, especially if there weren't many people, or, well, wolves, around. Though it was best if there wasn't anything...

Kudo's next words nearly made him flinch before he sighed out softly. "I wasn't hunting." He muttered out and looked up at the bright blue sky. "I was... Trying to find a certain fox." He finally said with a soft sigh - that wasn't that much of a lie. That fox was like his enemy by now, but he honestly thought she was good. The woman was sneaky, graceful- and if she was a wolf, he would definitely try and get her as his pair. But for now... Since she was a fox, there weren't so many things that would get them together. Ever.

His gaze drifted off to Kudo for a while as he sighed out and sat up, his eyes cold and sharp. "I could help you with hunting." He said quietly while raising his head. "Before you refuse, just think." The wolf said with an almost bored expression as he sighed out and rested his head on his hand. "The ceremony is coming up... If you can't even catch a har easily, you will fail even if you get the best partner- though I doubt that." Buanna knew that he would be the only one who'd want to be Kudo's partner... And there were certainly some better hunters- at least he thought that way.

Kudo's ears stood up and his face formed into a grimace. "I did caught the hare though.....i just wasn't able to eat all of it because of the bear." he retorted and made his way to the river. The blood from his breakfast was still sticking to his mouth and he wanted to wash it. So he made quick work with cleaning himself and sat back again, staring at the other yet again. He did get the hare so his hunt was succesfully, he just......didn't take care like he should have. Kudo was only able to eat half of his breakfast, leaving him still a bit hungry.

The others words got Kudo to think again. A wolf searching for a fox. The whole sentence was weird but it isn't like Kudo wasn't weird either. A dog adopted by a wolf pack, hah, that was a story which only stood in comedy comics. If it weren't for the alpha then Kudo might as well be dead. Come to think of it, the dog still didn't know why the alpha accepted him in the pack. It is not like he is helpful or anything. "A fox you say....." Kudo muttered, his eyes staring intendly on the rippling water surface of the river. Different, yet not completely so. Kudo was a dog, but if his memory served him right then dogs and wolves weren't that different. The humans were his alpha and he was the little pup in the pack. But in the end he wasn't part of a real pack. Kudo slowly understood that he will never be a wolf, just out of the reason that he is a dog. His whole race is different so Kudo can't really expect to become a real wolf. But never mind that, the dog was hellbend on being at least something close to a wolf. Someday......yes someday.

The red head was a bit surprised though at Buanna's proposal. He wanted to train him, the dog? Yes, that would certainly help him improve, a good teacher and he would be able to learn how to really hunt. At the mention of the ceremony his excitement withered again though. "I....don't even know if i can take part. I am a dog after all and isn't the ceremony just for marriage pairs too? I won't be able to fit in, no matter how good i can hunt." he said, his gaze towards the ground. It was true, Kudo hadn't really thought about it but he would probably never get a partner....or a love interest for that matter. The dog would probably stay alone his whole life.

Buanna rolled his eyes slightly at the dog's answer. If he caught it, but didn't eat it whole... What was the point in catching it at all? The wolf was used to having the prey all for himself - he really wasn't one to share. Not at all. He was selfish, one could even say. But that was what would happen to everyone who had to spend some time alone, away from their pack and clueless about what to do - that was exactly what happened to the silver-haired male. Around the age of fifteen, he was banned from his pack and, obviously, was attacked by humans - thank god this pack took him in.

His sharp eyes watched closely as Kudo walked to wash himself. He himself couldn't stand being dirty, but this one seemed a bit obsessed with it... Or maybe it was just his imagination. The wolf sighed to himself as he tilted his head, lightly furrowing his brows at what the other said. "You're a part of the pack now, you have to take part in it." He said quietly, raising his gaze to the blue sky as a soft, warm breath left his lips. He didn't know exactly how to ask the other to be his pair... Besides, there were a lot of females who, for some reason, wanted to be his partners. He wasn't all that amazing; he wasn't even born here... But neither was Kudo.

Buanna sighed softly as he brushed a hand over his silver hair and looked at the other, his eyes softening the slightest bit - but that alone was enough for a change to be seen. His usual scowl was replaced by a neutral expression and he didn't look like he was about to kill someone... "I could be your partner." He finally said, rather bluntly as he raised his head. "But only if you actually learn to hunt well... I don't want to spend the rest of my life with a weakling." The wolf said somewhat coldly before turning around and beginning to walk into a different part of the forest - the perfect place to hunt deers. "Follow me."

It was not like Kudo was obsessed with being clean but it was in his nature to be as clean as possible. He didn't like the crusted dirt that hung around others of the pack. After living with the humans he kinda found it filthy and not really comfortable to walk around with a little 'dirt shell' over his body and the smell.....No, Kudo wasn't obsessed but he was rather clean than dirty. His humans often scolded him for playing in the mud when he was a pup so he kinda felt that being dirty was a bad thing. But enough of these trivial matters, back to the main point. "Might be but only the alpha accepts me as a pack member. The others don't even want to have anything to do with me. To them i am just some place holder, just air." he said, his eyes growing distant. It was hard to face the truth but there weren't many wolves in his pack that even talked to him, he was usually just ignored. But Kudo couldn't think bad of them, the wolves have been hunted by humans and his kin so of course they didn't want to have anything to do with him.

But truth be told, Kudo actually didn't want to take part even if he had to due to the rules. He wasn't romantically interested in the females of the pack so he didn't want to have a partner that he doesn't love. But it seemed like it was over. He had to get someone to be his partner, or else he wasn't a full flegded member of the pack. But forcing someone wasn't an option either. The dog wouldn't have thought that being part of a wolf pack was this hard. All these specific rules and such. Kudo was happy they took him in and he loved the alpha like a father but sometimes Kudo thought what would have happened if they didn't take him in. They would have probably killed him, being a trained dog and all.

Kudo didn't dwell longer in the past however, the future was yet to come and he wanted to be a part of it actually. The dog raised his head and watched the puffy clouds as they continued their way. The sun was shining and was warming his whole body. Today was a good day it seemed and it was just morning. After he heared the important words spoken by Buanna, he turned his head rather fast. "W-what?" he asked stupidly. No one actually asked him and Kudo actually thought that the chosing of pairs was practically like a marriage. So why was a good looking, popular (at least to Kudo's beliefes) and strong male asking him if he wanted to be his partner? The other could probably get whomever he wanted yet he decided for the dog? Really? But Kudo remembered how the other joined. If he wasn't mistaken then the silverette had been kicked out of his old pack and was close to dying before the pack found him. So maybe....the other was also having a hard time to fit in, just like Kudo. So maybe the other felt symphaty?

Either way, it seemed like the other already decided on the matter and went ahead into the woods. "Ah! Wait. Name's Kudo by the way, thank you for teaching me." he said politely and bowed, after he caught up with the other. Kudo didn't bother with Buanna's rude behaviour, it didn't really matter to Kudo who was used to being bullied. At least the taller one wasn't shouting at him, so that meant that Buanna was at least okay with his presence.

Buanna couldn't help but roll his eyes at the stupid, just so incredibly stupid reaction he got from the dog. He was not going to repeat himself for another time... The wolf let out a soft grunt as he looked away from the dog in slight irritation. He didn't offer this because of anything like pity or symphaty for the other - no, he was actually, honestly interested in Kudo... At least when he wasn't acting like an idiot... Though that could be changed. Hunting could be improved, and that was what mattered for Buanna the most - after all, the main part of the ceremony was to hunt a bear. If Kudo wasn't able to go at the same speed as he did, things would not work out.

Once the dog caught up with him and properly inroduced himself, Buanna gave a faint nod, though his eyes were still gazing straight ahead of him. "Buanna." He muttered out under his nose - just in case this guy didn't know already. Buanna pursed his lips as he looked around, narrowing his eyes. He tilted his head slightly and took in a deep breath - that alone was enough for him to check if there was any prey around. And, indeed there was. Just a little bit away from them, there were at least two or three deers - he wasn't too sure how many.

"This way." He said quietly as he began running, a bit slower than he usually would. After all, it seemed like Kudo wasn't able to reach his speed just yet... The wolf still managed to stay completely silent - the perfect hunter. He hoped that Kudo wouldn't scare the prey away... He was breathing through his nose, checking for any kind of change in smell - either for an enemy or another possible prey. For now, there didn't seem to be anything worth his attention. Just the same deers.

After a short while, the two of them reached a part of the forest where there was an almost empty field, where a small band of four deers were quietly resting. "Don't do anything unless I tell you to." Buanna muttered out quietly to the other as he began slowly walking to the deers - he himself didn't catch any uneccessary attention. His fur hid him perfectly in the woods, but Kudo... To be honest, the wolf thought that the best way for him to hunt properly was to first roll in mud so the bright red would be hidden. That probably wasn't going to happen..

(I AM SO SORRY!! I couldn't come online at all and i think i will be having a few difficulties to come online for the next two days or something too. :/ Just gonna leave a reply so Buanna won't fell lonely :D )

"Buanna? That's a nice name...." Kudo said to himself and followed the other. It was original, but he guessed most of the wolves got some nice sounding nickname. But it suited the other, older, wolf. The dog doesn't know why but it just suited the other. Period. Kudo wasn't really fond of his own name. Kudo....it didn't sound all that strong or intelligent, it was just a plain name you would give a dog. Nothing that really fitted his personality.

Both of them continued their way and Kudo was watching the other intently already. Buanna didn't say when the teaching would start so Kudo thought that it had already begun. So he mimicked the actions the other did, sniffing the air for prey. Though he wasn't a wolf, his nose was still as good as everyone else's. He could smell deer a few feet ahead, two or three maybe according to the strength of the smell. And soon Buanna took off, followed by the dog that was a bit slower than him. But it seemed that the silverette took care to not walk too fast so Kudo could keep up with him. Usually dogs would pant if they ran but Kudo resisted the urge to not alert their prey.

They soon saw their targets, four deers in a peaceful meadow. Kudo listened to the orders and he watched attentive as Buanna sneaked around them and readied himself for action. The dog on the other hand.......was hiding in a bush, body low on the ground to not be noticed. It was true, his fur was to bright in the lush green forest. So he had a hard time to hide but if he would lay low on the ground, then their prey might think he is a stone or something. At least one could hope, so Kudo always made sure to stay covered. It was easier in autumm, since the red leaves were matching his fur a bit. He still had to lay low but he was better hidden as if in winter.

Buanna shot a glance back at Kudo and breathed out quietly, motioning for him to go to where he himself was. The wolf was planning on attacking the female deer from both sides... She seemed to be either tired or injured, so she was the easiest prey for sure. His silver ears were standing up, twiching from the slightest sound around him. When he hunted, Buanna took it seriously... Be it a simple rabbit, a deer or a damn fox. The thought about that female fox made his fur stand up and he barely held in a growl. She was definitely going to pay...

Once Kudo was where he was told to be, Buanna tossed him a sharp glance. "Attack on my mark. Female, the one who's laying on the ground." He muttered out quietly, only loud enough for the dog to hear as he himself quietly sneaked off to the other side. He hid himself between the leaves and slowly, calmly breathed out as he narrowed his eyes. Three bigger leaps would be enough to reach her - if anything he was counting on Kudo to attack from the other side.

The wolf soon gave a small sign for the wolf - just moments before he jumped out of his hiding place and dashed off towards the pack with his fangs bared. The female reacted a bit too slowly, but managed to get away with only a small bite on her leg. "Get her!" He growled out at Kudo as he leaped after the deer, trying to get her leg once more so she would fall. Yeah, he was definitely better off hunting alone.

Kudo went to the assigned spot and watched Buanna and the deers carefully. His redish ears were standing up, listening to his surroundings and waiting for Buanna's signal. The silverish wolf said to go for the dozing female. It was obviously weakened, even Kudo could smell and see that. Kudo made himself ready when he saw Buanna doing the same. And as if on cue the signal was given and Buanna made his way towards the deers. As if he was stung by a bee Kudo bolted up and ran towards the female. He was comming from ahead so the deer didn't really have a change to turn around or avoid him since it was hurt. With a small leap, Kudo jumped towards the throat, tryingt to crush it. But his smaller and inexperienced body wasn't ready for a blow that strong so both of them fell down in a heap on the ground.

Kudo was luckily to not be crushed by the deer. Said animal already having taken it's last breath. Kudo huffed and sat down. The happiness he felt when he got his first really kill was really breathtaking. His tail started wagging nonestop and his eyes had a happy shine in them. After having looked at his throphy, his gaze shifted to Buanna and he grinned. "Thank you!" he said, happy that the silver wolf was teaching him but also giving him his first kill. Kudo still had a long way to go, his body still hurt from the impact but it was so totally worth it.

Buanna barely held in the irritated groan when Kudo so recklessly bolted into the female, both of them falling down. His silver fur was standing up as he growled softly - at least the dog managed to kill her off. His sharp eyes showed clear annoyance as he observed Kudo. "Stop behaving like an idiot." He said somewhat coldly as he slowly walked towards the deer. "Never thank for things like this. It makes you look weak..." The wolf growled out quietly as he looked at the red head from above, his tail completely still.

The wolf bared his fangs as he looked at the bloody deer and tsk'ed. "Where the hell were you biting?" He asked in slight irritation as he crouched down and ran a finger over the wound, then pointed a bit upwards. "Always aim at this spot. The prey will die quickly and you won't have to deal with the noises and styruggling." He explained quietly, then slowly dragged his gaze over the female. "Also, your jump was awful. You're too slow. Did you see where you kept your hands?" He questioned with the same irritation. Kudo was inexperienced, that was for sure... Guess it would take more than a few lessons.

Kudo's ears stood back as Buanna addressed him with clear annoyance in his voice. But Kudo was grateful for the offer to help him hunt and he knew that he was a tough nut to teach but he wanted to get better. He wanted to make his teacher proud of his success. Was it that hard to understand? It was normal to Kudo but apparently it wasn't for Buanna. "But... this was the first deer i was able to kill.....and you helped me though you won't really gain anything from it. The last i can do is to thank you, isn't it?" he asked, a bit confused why Buanna said that saying 'thanks' to someone that helped is weak. They were truly opposites, not just from their race. Buanna was used to living alone and taking care of his own, that was why he was so secluded towards the others maybe. And though Kudo is a nice and friendly guy, he doesn't get many friends in the pack. They are opposites so there would be many fights following surely.

The dog looked down on the bite mark, listening to the older wolf. Kudo knew that the other just wanted to teach him and this was Buannas way of teaching so Kudo listened intently. Maybe Kudo should answer the questions but he obviously didn't really know an answer. His feet were going for the shoulders of the deer to push it back but that wasn't the right choice, instead of pushing the deer away with his small body, he should aim at the wind pipe with his claws. To do as much damage as possible if he wouldn't be able to bite his prey. Kudo pondered a bit before standing up. Now that he killed.......he didn't know what to do. Was he allowed to eat or would Buanna teach him about pack hierachy? Like an obient dog that he was he waited for further orders from his teacher.

Buanna grunted softly as he shook his head and tsk'ed. "No, a hunter doesn't thank. Your prey, your work, no apologies or thanks are needed." He said quietly as he glared lightly at the dog. It was good that Kudo was at least listening... As his sharp, silver eyes observed how the dog stood up, Buanna bared his fangs once more. "It's your prey, idiot. Unless you want for the wolves to get the best parts, always eat them by yourself at first. Then you should bring the rest of the meat to others, so the cubs and injured ones can eat." He explained quietly as he sighed and rubbed his forehead lightly.

"Unless you're hunting with others, don't hesitate to eat. It'd be better if you ate this somewhere further away, so a bear doesn't take your prey again." He said with slight mockery as he turned around and stretched, as well revealing his nicely-built body. "Hurry up and eat if you want, then carry the meat to the band. Afterwards, meet me near the river... You need more training." The wolf said quietly before beginning to walk off. He never was one to listen to others a lot... Well, with the exception of their elder. He was a man of great honor...

Buanna sighed out as he jogged off to look around the teritory. No one would care if he didn't show up with Kudo... As long as he didn't behave stupidly, all should be fine. Buanna couldn't teach him everything - and even if he could, he wouldn't. In this world, one had to learn to fight for himself.

Kudo nodded to the silver wolfs words. He understood that the pack was important but he should eat first if possible. So it was still a eat or be eaten situation. It was a bit selfish but it also had it's good intentions. If the hunter isn't sated then he won't be effective in the hunt. So it went without sayint that the one who killed the deer would have to eat his fill first....or at least until the alpha came. As far as Kudo knew, the alpha was the word. He will eat first till he is full and then everyone else will come. "Yes. Till later then Buanna." he said, his tail wagging. He ignored the other's teasing tone before, since it was true either way. But Kudo could learn from his mistakes. Kudo had to learn everything in the hard way, that was the life of a wolf. No one really thought you, mostly was self taught at the age of a pup. But Kudo was missing this experience so he had to learn everything now. Mistakes would always happen but he would also learn from them, Buanna made him see this though he hadn't told the dog this. But a small push into the right direction was everything someone needed.

It didn't take long for Kudo to eat his fill and make his way back towards the pack. At first he was regarded coldly, until they saw the dead deer that is. A little circle gathered around him and asked him where he got it. Nobody could believe that the little dog of theirs could hunt a deer. But they didn't question further as soon as they were allowed to eat. It was a bit weird to not be ignored but Kudo guessed it was because he did something useful for once. His tail still wagged behind him, he was happy to accomplish something, no matter how small. So he didn't wait long and made his way towards the river. Morning had turned to early noon by now. Though the dog was really excited, he didn't rush. But you could clearly see that he was happy and excited, it was a flaw of being a dog. Others are easily able to tell what you feel.

While Buanna was waiting for the dog, he caught himself a small, young deer - just enough for him to feel full. The wolf let out a warning growl when the scent of the fox reached him again, and thankfully soon disappeared once more. He had a bad feeling she was going to mess around for quite a long time... Just being her annoying usual self. Everything that had something to do with her - smell, voice, eyes, movements, her dead prey - it all annoyed the wolf so much... How come foxes even smelled that way? All of them just reeked of betrayal, he didn't even know it was possible.

When the wolf finally saw Kudo coming over, he let out an irritated groan. The tail. The wagging, annoyingly bright tail. His silver eyes showed clear irritation as he slowly exhaled and tilted his head while observing the dog. "Find some mud and roll in it. It'll cover the color and smell." He muttered out and glanced over his shoulder, then pointed at a puddle of mud. "You can wash it off later, but now you must do it. Otherwise you can forget about training." The wolf said calmly as he looked at Kudo, as if waiting for him to refuse. He didn't give a single shit that the other was some clean freak - hunting was the most important thing right now... And Kudo was too easy to spot.
