Ritsuka walks over to him. He was curious what the other was cooking. "What dare you doing Ritsu? Trying to scare me?" he asked him. Yami was making pancakes and bacon. "Nope I was just watching. I'm still not sure about this agreement we have." Ritsuka said. Yami looked at him. "What don't you like about it? I think it's a rather fair arrangement if nothing else." Yami said as he turned off the stove. Ritsuka frowns a bit. "I guess but if papa knew he'd say it wasn't fair. I get why you said it but I'm just not sure I agree."

Kaneko walked down the hallway following the lovely scent of food, smiling softly but it soon turned into a frown. He saw Ritsuka and Yami talking and it seemed his son was not in a great mood. He walked into the kitchen grabbing his sons waist and smiled softly kissing his cheek. "Hey an old friend wants to meet up with me and you. Lets go for a drive"He smiled. "Make extra for one more person Yami. We have a guest" He grabbed his sons hand and headed towards the front door.

Ritsuka smiled when Kaneko embraced him. "Good morning papa." he said happily. Yami glanced back a bit. "Very well then. I'll have everything ready in a few." he said with a small smile. Ritsuka looked at his friend before following his father. "Papa, who are we going to meet? I'm not sure what's going on." he said

Kaneko looked at Ritsuka as head headed to the car with a smile. He opened up his door and waited until his son was inside the car before he spoke. "You remember Kai right?" He started the car and drove off towards the café to meet with Kai. Kai was sitting outside looking through the morning paper, he shifted and waited patiently for Kaneko and Ritsuka.

Ritsuka looked at his father. "I think I do. Why are we going to meet him? Is there something he can help with?" he asked curiously. He glanced out the window a bit wondering what Kaneko was planning. He also had other things on his mind as well. He couldn't forget this mornings conversation with Yami.

Kaneko nodded his head as he drove to the café and put the car in park. He looked at Ritsuka,"Wait here" He got out of the car and walked over to the bench where Kai was sitting and grinned. "You ready to meet him. You two will hit it off, just don't hurt him." Kai looked up and finished his coffee before standing and leaving a tip at the table. He headed for the car and spotted Ritsuka. "Wow you have not changed much Ritsuka. Although it has been several years since I saw you last" He chuckled and got in the back.

Ritsuka glanced up hearing his name. He looked at he male and smiled. "Yes I guess it has been. It's nice to see you again." he said as he glanced at his father. That's when he kind of pieces things together. He figured Kai was going to meet Yami today. He wasn't sure how this would work. Ritsuka knew his friend was smart and might see through this plan.

Kaneko smiled at his som and put the car in drive before turning and heading back to Yamis house. He pulled into the driveway and parked close by the door, turning it off. He smiled then got out of the car, looking towards the door, he hoped Yami would like Kai so they could all be happy. Kai stepped out and dusted his coat off and opened the door for Ritsuka and bowed. "Shall we go inside now?" Kai was a gentlemen and a sweet one at that.

Ritsuka smiled as he got out of the car. He was surprised Kai didn't overreact to the size of Yami's place. It was an impressive place for someone his age. To top it off it still catches Ritsuka by surprise. Yami walked to the door and opened it. "Breakfast is getting cold. Come on in and eat." he said before walking away from the door. He didn't focus on the new face

Kaneko chuckled and walked over grabbing his sons hand then headed inside smiling. He walked to the table and sat down looking at Yami, then his son. "Oh Yami, this is Kai" Kai stepped inside and took off his coat and shoes before making his way to the table and smiled at Yami. "Pleasure to meet you. Nice place you got, its gorgeous." He sat down closest to Yami and across from Ritsuka.

Yami was finished setting the table when he glanced up at Kai. He smiled happily at the male. "Thank you very much. I try my best too keep it well kept." he said looking to the side. Ritsuka glanced at the two and then Kaneko. He wasn't sure what to do now. Instead he looked at the food. "Thank you Yami. It looks delicious." he said before getting ready to eat. Yami nods as he also prepared to eat. 'itadakimasu'

Kai looked at the food infront of him and blushed before he began to eat quietly. He looked up every once and awhile , looking around at everyone then paused watching Yami. He was very handsome and well just all around cute, he smiled to himself. Kaneko stood not even touching his food, and walked to Yami grabbing his wrist and yanking him up from the chair. He headed down the hall and pinned him gently, scoffing. "What is your deal Yami? Is Kai not attractive for you! I don't want Ritsuka thinking we have a thing for eachother. Got it? Now be nice to Kai" He sighed.

Yami was eating only to be pulled away. He pouts as he looked at him. "I had a feeling this is why you brought him here. He's a good looking guy and my type but I don't know him. You do and besides, I don't plan to take you from Ritsuka. He's made at me for something completely unrelated to what happened that night. Anyway, I'm not one to make a first move without knowing a person fully." he said softly. Ritsuka glanced up at Kai. "What do you think of Yami? He's my best friend so if you go out with him be nice okay. He's been real lonely and doesn't let people get too close to him easily. So you have to try real hard." he said giving advice

Kaneko glared and slapped him gently then crossed his arms over his chest watching him. "Yami. Just give him a chance. Get to know him. Kai is a nice guy and treats both Ritsuka and I very well. He is a gentlemen Yami" He turned and headed back to the table. Kai smiled at Ritsuka. "He is pretty cool and cute if you ask me. Ill try my hardest to be the nicest to him." He finished eating and stood picking up his plate, and washing it for Yami so he had one less plate to clean. He thought to himself.

Yami glanced down after Kaneko walked off. He stood there for a moment no longer hungry. He walked the opposite way going to the window room near the kitchen. Ritsuka smiled as he continued to eat. He looked as Kai got up to put his plate in the sink. "Wait a minute! Yami prefers to do the cleaning and housework. He'll get fussy because we're guest. Even though I keep telling him it's better to share the chores." he said pouting to him before looking at Kaneko. "Is everything okay papa?! Your food is going to be cold." he said going closer to his father.

Kai placed his cleaned dishes into the cabinet and looked back at Ritsuka. "It's fine I don't mind" He turned and walked out of the kitchen and headed to find the bathroom but noticed Yami all alone, he walked over to him and leaned on the wall. "You okay Yami?" Kaneko sat down in his chair looking at his son, nodding his head slowly as he leaned back letting out a deep sigh. He smiled softly before leaning forward and kissing his lips. "Just was talking to Yami is all. Don't worry about it." He kissed him again.

Yami glanced back as he heard a voice. "Oh it's you. I'm alright so don't worry yourself. Anyway, I hope breakfast was to your liking. I don't normally cook for others often." he said glancing to the side. He wasn't sure what to actually say to Kai. Meanwhile Ritsuka looked at Kaneko. "I hope Yami isn't upset about the Kai thing. He's so scared of letting people get close." he mumbles before feeling lips against his own. His cheeks flush. "Your so sweet"

Kai turned to him before nodding his head. "It was very delicious. Thanks for allowing me to join. I can tell you don't really trust me but i'm not that bad of a guy..." He looked down frowning. Kaneko looked into his eyes then kissed him once more smiling. "I'm not that sweet son" He chuckled then started to eat his food looking towards his son once more enjoying his meal.

"Don't think so little. It has nothing to do with trust. I just can't easily let people so close. I'm sure you can see just by the size of this house alone I'm well off. That's all people see when they look at me. Ritsuka and Kaneko are the first to see only me and nothing else. So I'm sure you are a wonderful guy Kai but words alone won't convince me." Yami said actually looking at him this time. He didn't dislike the idea of getting to know the male. He was more building a wall around himself for protection. Ritsuka looked at his father happily. "Papa is sweet. Papa is smart. Papa is all mine because I love him from the heart." he says in a sing-song tone

Kai looked up from the floor and smiled a little bit before walking closer to Yami and grabbing his hand. He bowed to him and then stood "Would you like to go for a walk with me?" He pulled him gently closer. Kaneko blushed hard and smiled looking into his sons beautiful eyes, his heart beginning to pound inside his chest listening to him. He touched his cheek gently. "I love you my dear"

Yami looked at Kai a bit caught off guard. This didn't happen often unless it was Ritsu sneaking up on him. He glanced to the side. "We can walk through the garden maze outside. It's nice this time of day and beside I have to tend to them as well." he said softly. He didn't really know what else to say at the moment. Ritsuka smiled as he looked at his father. "I love you so much too. I was thinking a bit and if Yami falls for Kai could we just stay here. I mean the four of us as on big family. I like it here and papa is happy too. Plus I think Yami enjoys being here now that it's not so lonely." Ritsuka said

Kai pulled back and nodded his head watching him before heading to the front door, he looked towards the kitchen and saw how happy Ritsuka and Kaneko were. He frowned wishing he could be that happy with someone. Kaneko nodded. "Of course we can stay here. Yami needs people here. I really hope they hit it off.." He noticed Kai was standing closeby, he tilted his head thinking he was leaving.

Yami walked with him towards the front door. He didn't know why but he was willing to give this a try. If it meant Ritsuka would be happy and Kaneko as well. Once outside he glanced up. The sky was a bit gray but it didn't look like it would rain. He glanced back at Kai. "What's wrong? Is it odd seeing them happy or is it something else?" he asked him. Ritsuka smiled as his father said they could stay.

Kai looked over at Yami and shrugged his shoulders a bit and followed him out into the garden with a slight smile on his lips. "Every time I have seen them,they have been fighting non-stop and now they are closer than anything. I wish I could find someone to be happy with.." He pushed his hands into his pockets and started walking through the garden looking at the flowers,they were pretty all of them. Kaneko grabbed his sons hand and walked towards the window to look outside and watch the two,he smiled softly. "Do you think everything is going good?" He looked at Ritsuka a little worried.

"I suppose you have a point. I think it's the first time I've seen an actual smile on Ritsuka's face in forever. I like this side of both of them." Yami said as he looked at the flowers. Ritsuka walked with his father to the window. "It looks okay but it's hard to tell. If only they had something in common to talk about. I know Yami loves cooking and the garden. What does Kai like?" he asked Kaneko.
