Beauty In The Water~~

Thomas nodded with a fascinated expression on his face, though his eyes also showed tiredness. Truly, communicating so much with another person was tiring, especially for someone like him... Still, he managed to continue smiling and nod. “It's really interesting... Seeing something like this with my own eyes is still unbelievable.“ The pianist said with a soft chuckle as he rested his head on his arms that were placed on the edge of the tub. He looked like he wasn't even in this worl anymore - Thomas was slowly drifting away into his own little world... Where everything was perfect for him.

He was soon woken up from that state as Fintan continued talking. The brunet furrowed his brows as he gazed at the merman with a serious expression on his face. “What have people done to you? All I know myself is that there are a few in the zoo's... Like, parks. that have animals in something close to cages - usually made to look like their habitats.“ The pianist explained quietly while no smile was visible on his face. “Some of those places are cruel...“ He muttered out while looking at the water with a sad look on his face.

The man closed his eyes and let out a smile when he heard the questions. “Yeah, there are those small groups... But mostly we live in giant cities - there could be millions of people in one single city... Certain areas are countries, and each big island, you could say, is called a continent.“ He explained quietly, keeping his eyes closed. “Say... Do you want to stay here for long?“ He asked with a small laugh.

Fintan chuckled a bit when Thomas explained how this all still seemed unbelievable to him "I feel the same way" he smiled looking to the other "There were all these stories about humans, and I wondered if they might be really real. I wanted to meet one so badly....I'm glad I finally have, and it was you. By what you say...it seems like there are some terrible humans...but you don't seem so bad" he said with a genuine and kind smile.

Listening to the other explain about cities and countries and the types of societal groupings they had on land. He was surprised. Especially when the other said how much were in some "W-what?! Millions in one area?" he gasped. He'd never heard of that. Even with schools of fish, it only usually reached the thousands or hundreds - but millions? Fintan's brain couldn't even comprehend how many people that was.

He looked to the other, seeing how he seemed to be falling asleep on the side of the tub "Are you tired?" he asked curiously tilting his head. He moved and shifted a bit in the water, pulling himself up a bit more to sit so the rest of his tail could fit in the body of water. "If you want to sleep, that is fine I don't want to burden you too much" he spoke, but then the other asked a question. "Stay here?" he asked curiously "Well....i do want to be here for a while, yes" he said with a smile.

Thomas blinked as he looked at the merman with a slightly tired expression on his face. "Stories about us? Could you tell me one?" He asked softly, a small smile playing on his face. He enjoyed listening to stories, reading them or even watching them. He'd loved that since he was a kid - maybe because it was his father who read them. Truth was, Thomas always got along better with his father than his mother...

He laughed softly at the merman's reaction to how many people could live in one city. "Yeah, I mean, there are... Seven billion people in the world. That would be seven thousand milion, so... Well, I don't want to confuse you any more." He said with a soft laugh while shaking his head, chuckling to himself. The tall male smiled softly as he closed his eyes again while resting his head on his arms.

He let out a soft chuckle at what the merman said and smiled. "Guess you could say I'm tired... I just, I really don't like to be around people for too long." Thomas said with a light chuckle as he shook his head and smiled softly. "Hmm... There might be a bit of a problem with that... I mean, I live alone, but... I was supposed to go see my sister today, and well, now I can't do that... I need you to try and walk, I won't leave you alone here."

Fintan blinked a bit when the other asked about a story to tell "Uh, you want to hear them...?" he asked and frowned a bit "They're not very pleasant stories..." he said as he sighed a bit and then shifted to pull himself up out of the tub, sitting down on the edge of it. He saw a towel - though not knowing what it was - but used it to dry off since it was fluffy and dry. "I mean, I was just always fascinated with the land, and then humans are our closest ancestor on land, so, I really wanted to meet one" he said with a smile as he dried his scales off and the rest of the body so the scales would slowly disappear.

"Oh...you have a sister? That reminds me....where is the rest of your family, your parents?" he asked curiously. In the sea in his species, they all stuck together in their groups they had, even when kids grew up and created their own families, they were still in the same group as their parents. So, he wondered why it seemed Thomas was the only one living in this house "You were going to go see your sister? Where is she?" he asked curiously.

He felt the uncomfortable itching sensation of his body drying out again and the scales disappearing to reveal skin and all. He talked with Thomas a bit about his family as he dried, and eventually pulled the clothes back on once he had legs back and everything.

Thomas smiled softly and shook his head. "That's not enough, I really want to hear what you talk about us." He said rather firmly, though his voice still seemed a bit tired. “Here, we don't have that many stories about merpeople... And the ones we have are a bit stupid.“ He said with a light chuckle. The brunet watched how Fintan got out of the bath and pulled back to let him take care of his tail and everything. On the meanwhile, the pianist pulled out the plug so that the water would flow out. Leaving it here wouldn't be too good, especially if he felt like taking a hot bath... Which might happen.

The next question made Thomas bite his lip and look away. “Well, my parents are divorced, and kids here usually live away from them.“ He quietly answered the first question while looking at the ground as he slowly stood up. “As for my sister... She's in a hospital - it's a place where medics take care of ill people. And my sister... She has cancer, it's a deadly disease if one doesn't treat it.“ He explained quietly, because he felt like if he was going to talk any louder, he'd probably start crying. His sister was a painful talk for the man...

The brunet sighed softly as he gently took the other's hand and smiled. “Why don't you try standing up?“ He offered softly as he took his other hand into his own as well. The pianist seemed slightly upset and tired - even so, he wished to help the other. It was simply who he was; no matter what, other people came before himself. His sister and mom were only two examples - there were so many more people he'd helped before...

Fintan looked to the other curiously when he seemed to insist on wanting to know what stories they had about humans "Oh...it's nothing interesting....most aren't very nice stories..." he frowned as he looked to Thomas, seeing the curiosity in his eyes, and wanting to know. He smiled a bit "Well, obviously none are proven, since, not one of my kind has been on land in centuries. But there are stories of how creative, yet cruel humans can be. That they do anything for money and simply see new or interesting things with a price tag, including merpeople, or any other thing they may find. There are a lot of similar stories about sailors trying to catch us in fishing nets...." he trailed on. He didn't want to tell the other such mean stories about humans, so, he was able to salvage one good story that came to mind. It wasn't a happy ending for his people, but it was a good story, since, he could tell Thomas seemed to be the type to enjoy storytelling.

"There is this one story, about a sailor and a mermaid, centuries ago" he started as he continued to play in the water a bit as he spoke "The sailor was looking for merpeople, from his own desires and dreams to simply see one, he didn't have a money interest in it at all, that he saw a human figure swimming in the middle of the sea, no other ships around, and saw it had a tail. He didn't get a good glimpse, and no one believed him, but he was determined to find that creature again, not just for others to believe he wasn't crazy, but for his own eyes as well. But one day, he found what he was looking for, a mermaid. He had caught her, and was satisfied, keeping her in a tank he had below deck. On the long voyage back to land, the sailor had his son, who had come on the trip to help him, take care of the mermaid. The two ended up falling in love with each other, and so when they got to land, the mermaid had decided to stay, and grew legs. When the sailor came back home after gathering people to come see he was not delusional, and had caught a mermaid, she looked like a human. Enraged, that it only mocked him that much more, a few days later he ended up killing her" he said, finishing the story as he was getting out of the tub and drying off.

"That's why none of us trust going to land, for that story, and various other ones about the cruelty of human. It never ends well for us when we go on land, according to the stories, anyways" he explained as he pulled on the clothes again, though, having some difficulty with them. The shirt, not only was inside out and backwards, but though he managed to get one arm through a sleeve, the other sleeve was empty, with both his head and arm through the neck hole. His shorts, meanwhile, had both of his legs through one leg hole.

When he asked about Thomas' family, the other explained something he didn't understand. He blinked a bit, tilting his head in confusion as he looked to the other "Divorced? What does that mean?" the concept of a couple splitting was unheard of to Fintan. As far as the merpeople went, once mated, the couple was mated for life, and out of happiness too. There weren't arranged marriages or anything. But because of the mating for life, it often took a while for couples to actually mate and get together, for needing to make sure it was truly their mate for life. Though he didn't understand what a divorce was, the way the other was speaking, he could tell it was an upsetting thing. And then he talked about his sister...a fatal disease. He frowned a bit. Fintan felt horrible - he was making the other talk about unpleasant things...

When the other offered a hand to help him stand, Fintan just frowned, looking at his feet "I'm sorry..." he muttered quietly "You're helping me so much, doing so much for me, and I'm just making you recall sad things...and keeping you from visiting your sister..." he said as he felt terrible, like he really was being a burden to the other - even if Thomas himself didn't think so "Please go visit her. I can stay here fine by myself...or I could even leave if you'd want that, I'll be gone by the time you come back" he said.

Thomas' eyes lit up slightly as he listened to the other talk. "I don't care if the stories are mean... I know humans are terrible." He said quietly as his mind drifted off to his dad. He left them all when he was only nine... His sister was just born - merely a few months old. Right now she was sixteen... Well, almost sixteen. Her birthday was coming up next month - he knew he had to make something nice for her... Thomas was actually thinking about throwing her a birthday party, somewhere not in the hospital. She deserved it.

As he turned his light brown eyes to Fintan, he smiled slightly. The smile didn't fade away as he listened, closing his eyes to imagine the story. It reminded him a bit of "The Little Mermaid". Just a little bit... He sighed out softly as he slowly reopened his eyes and gazed at the merman, nodding with a light chuckle when he saw how Fintan put on the clothes. "Hey, there are two holes in pants for a reason. Two legs, two holes." He started explaining as he gently fixed his shorts and pulled off the other's shirt. "And see this? It's a tag. If you can see it like this, the shirt is inside out. You just do this..." Thomas said softly as he slowly showed the other how to get the shirt right. "And now, you see? This hole is the biggest one, it's for your head. To know how to put it on, also look a the tag - it should be in the back. Then your arms just go into the smaller holes!" The brunet finished explaining as he held out the shirt. "Go on, try putting it on."

His mood fell lightly when the other asked what divorced was. "It's when two people marry and after some time split up. My dad found another woman and left mom alone..." It was clear he didn't want to talk anout it anymore. Talking about it always made him feel bad... Both for his mother and his sister. Izabella - or Bella, as he always called her - she never experienced true love from a father. Thomas was the only man...

He blinked a few times when he heard the apology and shook his head with a frown. "I'm not leaving you alone... But I also don't want you to leave. You're hurt, but... I don't trust you to leave alone in the house." The brunet said quietly - it was a completely normal reaction from a human. It was a mythical creature out of nowhere... Others would be scared out of their minds! "I'd rather have you try and learn to walk - if you can, we could go collect seashells... I always bring some to her when I visit."

Fintan smiled a bit as he could tell the other seemed to enjoy listening to the story he had told him. Even though the other said he didn't care if they were cruel stories about the humans, he was still glad he was able to manage one that wasn't too gruesome or terrible, like some were. They had some old stories that were like real horror stories. And Fintan almost felt a little ashamed that all they had to know about the humans were cruel things. But Thomas didn't seem like that at all, not in the least.

As the other tried helping him learn to how to put the cloths on, he tilted his head, watching the other and earnestly trying to take in what he was telling and teaching him. Fintan wanted to know how to do this - how to do things as humans did them, and to live like one. He smiled a bit as his shorts were fixed, and he listened to the other explain about the shirt. WHen he was given it back to try for himself, he looked at it hesitantly, before slowly turning it around so it was fixed, and then pulling it on over his head, pushing his arms and head through the rights holes of the shirt. Realizing he did it successfully, he smiled proudly at himself "I did it!" he said smiling brightly, before the others mood had fell when he simply asked about divorced.

"Oh...I'm sorry...." he muttered as he tried imagining that. He didn't want to say any more about it, seeing how much it upset the other. He wasn't about to bring up how that never happened in his kind, that a 'divorce' of sorts was completely unheard of. He looked up to the other as he said how he didn't want to leave him alone in his house, and Fintan could tell why the other was saying that. He frowned a bit, at the fact the other didn't seem to trust him, though, not that Fintan exactly blamed him. He sighed softly, before slowly nodding his head when he offered a hand to try and help him get to walk. Gently taking it, he hesitated, before shifting and slowly trying to stand up, the pressure being put on his legs feeling very weird. As the other tried helping him, he continued to talk "Seashells? You have those here on land too?!" he said with a bright smile. He thought shells were beautiful, and though he didn't know it yet, but the ones on land might be a slight disappointment to the hidden treasures of large conch shells, and other various ones hidden in the depths of the sea, that were too heavy to wash up on shore.

As Fintan was able to stand, his legs shook, and his stance was very awkward. Even standing was knew to him, having to deal with gravity and weight from his lower half of his body holding him up.

Thomas smiled slightly and shook his head as he sighed. "It's okay, but... Don't mention this to my sister." He asked softly. Bella never talked about their parents, and their father was like some taboo. If anybody asked, she would refuse to say even a word - he knew she was just afraid of crying. She hated looking weak, especially when she was fighting cancer. She couldn't let herself look weak or anything even close to that - she had to look strong, like she could actually defat the disease.

He chuckled softly when he heard the other that excited over seashells. "I'm pretty sure they're nothing compared to what's underwater.. We only have the ones that are washed up to shore... It's hard to find ones that aren't broken, even. Most of the time I only find a few small ones that actually hold out." Thomas said softly as he observed how Fintan tried to stand. The brunet let out a light chuckle as he gripped both of the merman's hands and helped him stand a bit, tilting his head with a soft smile.

"Does your leg hurt?" He asked quietly as he glanced down at the wound which was hidden behind the bandages and shorts. "And can you try taking a step?" The pianist questioned as he lightly tugged onto Fintan's hands. "Just lift one leg a bit and try moving towards me." He said softly as he smiled, waiting.

Fintan nodded a bit "Of course" he said, but then smiled more "Wait, does that mean I get to meet your sister?!" he asked excitedly. Maybe the other didn't trust him enough yet, but really, Fintan would love if he got to meet his sister - or any other people on land. Once he was able to walk, he wanted to go exploring everywhere, and get to see everything that land had to offer.

"Oh, really?" he asked with a slight frown "That's such a shame...oh! You should come to the sea with me! There are such beautiful shells there, and they're a lot of big ones too. I bet your sister would love them. You could even get some for yourself too!" he said, getting all excited at just the thought of bringing the other to the sea with him. He still was curious what types of shells washed up on shore though, maybe the other just didn't think much of shells, and there were actually a lot of good ones? He wouldn't know though, of course. But he'd get to find out soon, he supposed. He'd just have to learn how to walk first.

As the other helped instructing him how to walk, Fintan did his best to follow his instructions and listen. He held Thomas' hands as he slowly tried picking a leg up, but then wobbled a bit as he lost balance, he quickly managed to put it a step forward though, placing it back on the ground before he completely fell "Like...that?" he said a bit curiously, his face showing how hard he was trying to concentrate and learn how to walk.

Thomas smiled warmly and nodded. "Sure... I'd rather keep you in my watch, and I don't think you'd do anything stupid in a hospital." He said with a light chuckle as he tilted his head. What if the other really was just faking this all?... But no, he saw him turning into a freaking merman. That wasn't something one could fake... Or was it? Man, with all these new things appearing in the shelves, anything was possible.

The pianist felt slightly embarrassed when the other offered to go underwater. "Well... First, humans can't breathe underwater. And second... Even if I could..." He bit on his lip slightly as he looked away, his cheeks slightly rosy. "I can't swim..." He muttered out quietly, unable to even look at the merman. He felt so embarrassed... There were so little people of his age who didn't know how to swim!

Thomas nodded sightly when the other took his first step and let out a small smile while tightly gripping his hands. "Yeah... Now repeat that with your other leg." He said softly, keeping his eyes down in the same embarrassment. Fintan probably thought of him as a weirdo now...

He smiled a bit "That's great....even if it's just because you want me in your watch, it means a lot to me you'd let me meet you sister, with how much she seems to mean to you" he said with a light smile, wondering what his sister was like. Was she like Thomas? Or completely opposite? "I bet she's beautiful, if she looks anything like you" he grinned "And I bet she's amazing if she's like you too. You're sister really sounds amazing" he said with a smile. He of course wasn't like he had any romantic interest in wanting to meet her - he didn't know her of course. Fintan was just a really energetic and friendly person, wanting to meet a bunch of people - humans, specifically.

He offered to take the other to the sea and gather more beautiful shells there, but it seemed the other didn't know how to swim "Oh...then, you're just like me!" he said with a grin, and giggled seeing how embarassed he seemed about it. "Whats so wrong with not being able to know how to swim? It's just like me probably coming to you, not knowing how to walk" he said with a smile "I mean, I guess we're technically not that same, since you're human, and I'm not obviously...but, I don't know how to walk, but you do, and I know how to swim, and you don't. We can teach each other" he said with a smile but then frowned "Although...I suppose humans probably swim differently than merpeople, huh...you don't have tails..." he thoughts out but smiled "No matter, I'm sure I could teach you to swim!" he said determined "Will you let me? I want to help you with something like that, since you're helping me learn to walk" he said.

He continued to listen to the other, taking another step forward with his bent, shaky legs. Although the second step, he stumble, and squeaked a bit as he fell into the other, flailing as he tried to keep from falling, but since he was holding onto Thomas' hands, he ended up bringing the other down with him, and fall on top of him. Fintan blush "Eh, I'm sorry!" he said, squirming to get off the other, but even just using his legs to push himself off was hard, and so he ended up rolling off of the other.

Fintan sighed heavily, pouting with a blush "Legs are so difficult..." he pouted childishly, that sentence probably sounding really weird, considering, legs were a normal, natural thing to humans "And this whole gravity thing is a bother, making it even harder....Isn't it exhausting walking every day?" he asked, but supposed humans walking, was just like a fish, or him, swimming. It was natural, no effort needed and needn't be thought about how to do, the body just did it, once it knew how.

Thomas huffed softly and shook his head as he looked at Fintan with an embarrassed face. "You don't get it... Most people know exactly how to swim, unlike mermans... I mean, most of you don't set foot on land!" He exclaimed in embarrassment before looking away and biting his lower lip. "But yeah... I'd appreciate if you taught me..." The brunet mumbled out, clearly still nervous and embarrassed about it. People had swimming competitions, for god's sake!

Those thoughts disappeared when he felt himself falling down onto the ground with a slightly pained 'oof'. He groaned out as he gripped the back of his head where he managed to hit the tub. The pianist barely managed to hold in the pained groan as he opened his eyes, blinking a few times to get rid of the diziness - when he felt some liquid slowly rolling down his fingers. The brunet took in a deep breath as he slowly stood up, with one hand gripping onto the tub.

He cursed quietly under his breath as he looked at Fintan with a slightly pained expression on his face. "I might need to go to a hospital..." Thomas muttered out as he slowly pulled his hand away from his hand and looked at his bloody hand with a small wince leaving his mouth. The man breathed in deeply as he looked around and walked over to the sink to grab out some bandages and slowly wrapped them around his head.

After that, he sighed softly and turned to Fintan with a slight smile. “Sorry about all this... I hope you don't mind helping me a bit...“ He muttered out as he pressed his hand against the bandages on his back of the head. Thomas didn't want for the other to feel guilty about all this - it was Thomas' fault all along. He fished out hisphone from his pocket and sighed as he looked at it, then at Fintan. “I'll call somebody to get me... Do you want to go with me or stay here?“

Fintan had stumbled to get off the other, feeling bad for knocking him down, and even more so when he saw he was bleeding. His eyes widened, and then filled with pain "Thomas...I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you!" he said frowning as he felt guilty and as though it was his fault for the other getting injured. He shifted a bit, managing to get himself up as he looked at the back of his head "Of course" he said letting the other call someone to get him. "Here, let me look at your head....see how bad it is" he said, gently taking the cloth for the male, and carefully moving it. He winced, looking at it "I'm sorry, again..." he sighed, frowning as he gently put the cloth of the pressure back on it "It doesn't look too big, but still...i feel bad..."

When asked if he wanted to go, he frowned "May I? But I wouldn't want to burden you more...i just caused you to hit your head" he said with a sigh "But then again, You didn't want to leave me here alone, right, or for me to leave? I want to come and make sure you're okay...I know how to walk now, I think....but it's a bit difficult" he trailed off as he stopped his rambling, realizing he was talking too much, and just let the other call someone for help to pick him up.

Fintan watched the male curiously as he spoke on the phone, tilting his head curiously and confused "What is that?" he asked, dumbfounded. Of course, no such thing as technology existed underwater. But Thomas was just talking to the object....which confused him more. He may not be familiar with land, but he was sure that thing didn't look alive and able to speak.

Thomas smiled slightly as he shook his head lightly, to make sure he didn't hurt it even more. "You can come along, I don't mind." He said softly as he sat down on the edge of the tub, keeping one hand on the back of his head. The pianist closed his eyes as he tried to deal with the throbbing somehow - it was painful and annoying... He hoped it wasn't anything serious and that he could go home soon.

The question made him open his eyes lightly and smile. Once he finished the call and got one of his friends to come pick him up, he raised the phone and smiled. "It's called a phone. Using this I can contact with people that are far away..." He said calmly, though inside he was freaking out. He might've been a little tiny bit afraid of blood... To the point where seeing it made him sick...

Thomas sighed out softly as he slowly pushed himself off the tub and continued to hold onto his wound as he walked to the living room. "Now look... My friend will come in a device called a 'car'. It's kind of like a big metal piece with wheels that can move... So, please don't freak out. It might make weird noises too." The pianist explained quietly as he sat down on the sofa with his eyes closed.

Fintan looked at the other curiously when he explain what the device was. He then started mentioning something about a thing called a 'car'. He tilted his head, trying to understand "Hmm...okay. I won't freak out, I trust you" he said with a smile. This was wear Fintan could be too naive. He was too trusting, and despite the horror stories of humans wanting to capture them and all, he didn't distrust Thomas at all. If Thomas truly was cruel enough and wanted to, he could easily capture Fintan and do lock him up wherever he pleased, the merman was too trusting of humans.

Fintan got up, trying to follow the other to the living room. He was slow, and had to use the wall a lot to support himself. He couldn't quite walk on his own, but using something to help him, like the wall, made it a lot easier. He followed the other to the living room, where, while the waiting for Thomas' friend to come pick them up, Fintan tried to practice his walking. Once he got the hang of it, it was fairly easy, and the more he walked, the more natural he moved.

Thomas watched how Fintan practiced for a while before giving up and just closing his eyes. He felt like his head was about to explode... The brunet took in a deep breath through clenched teeth as he opened his eyes slightly, his hand moving to his wound again. Yep, practicing walking in the bathroom was probably one of the worst ideas ever. His light brown eyes slowly trailed off to the merman and he smiled slightly, seemingly a bit tired. "So your leg doesn't hurt?" The pianist asked softly and quietly just before he heard a car driving to his house.

Just seconds after that, an extremely worried woman basically barged into the house and ran up to Thomas, her eyes widening slightly as she saw just how bad the wound was. "You idiot!" She nearly hissed out while the man just chuckled and smiled. "It's good to see you too." He replied softly - and that was the moment she noticed Fintan, and immediately put on her sweet 'nice-to-meet-you' smile. "Oh, hello there! Sorry, I didn't quite see you. Are you a friend?"

Fintan was proud of himself as he finally managed to walk decently. It still was a bit of an awkward walk, but, he could move somewhat. He looked back to the other when he asked about his leg, and he smiled a bit shaking his head "No, it doesn't. Merpeople have quite a high healing rate. I suppose it hurts a bit, but, It'd manageable" he said with a shrug of his shoulders as he slowly moved back over beside the other, sitting beside him.

"Speaking of hurting...how are you doing?" he asked softly with a frown on his face. He held the cold cloth to the others head for him, putting slight pressure on it only to keep the bleeding down. "I still feel terrible..." he sighed softly as his eyes showed his guilt and how bad he felt about the whole situation. He noticed how the other seemed tired, having a hard time keeping his eyes open "Don't fall asleep...if you get hurt in the head like this and fall asleep it will be worse....or so, for merpeople it's bad, I assume it'd be the same for humans too, because of out similar body dna and all..." he spoke, continuing to talk and engage the other in conversation just so he didn't fall asleep.

Fintan looked up when a woman entered the house, and he watched her curiously "Oh uh, hi..." he said a bit awkwardly, giving a smile. After all, it was only the second human he has met, and a woman too. He smiled a bit awkwardly "Ah, yeah, I'm a friend...though...not a very good one at that. I suppose it was my fault he got hurt in the first place" he said as he got up, helping Thomas up as well.

The woman's eyes widened slightly as she stared at Fintan, her expression slowly turning into a frown. "I'm sorry... You are responsible?" Her voice became just slightly shaky as she gripped onto Thomas' hand and slowly lifted him up while he sighed softly and looked at her softly. "It was an accident... Linda, calm down, he slipped and fell onto me, and... Well, I hit my head during that. It's all that happened, I promise." He said softly while holding the cloth pressed tightly to his wound.

Linda seemed to be relaxing slowly as she turned to the merman and let out a small smile. "Excuse me, I got, uhm, a bit worried... Well, nevermind that. I need to get him to a hospital - are you coming along?" Her voice once again became soft and warm as she began walking towards the door with the pianist following behind. He glanced back at Fintan and smiled softly, motioning for him to follow. He himself looked pretty terrible - his face was really pale and his eyes seemed to be getting a bit red, as well as his walking wasn't the best. He felt dizzy...

Thomas took in a few deep breaths as him and Linda exited the house. The fresh air already helped him - one of the reasons that he didn't want to live in the city was because the air there was horrible. As he slipped into the car, Thomas got ready for an extremely unpleasant trip. Cars, city air and blood - what an amazing combination. Basically three of his most hated things combined into one...

Fintan frowned a bit "It was an accident, I promise" he said, feeling a bit threatened and uncomfortable under the womans gaze. He shifted uncomfortably as Thomas thankfully cleared it up for him and the woman seemed to relax, no longer upset with him or anything. When asked if he was coming, he hesitated a moment. Maybe he shouldn't? Maybe he bothered him enough already. Just as he was thinking that, he saw Thomas turn to him with a kind smile and motion to follow, and Fintan couldn't help but smile a bit, eagerly following the two.

As they stepped outside, he couldn't help but stare in awe at the vehicle they were going to ride in. This was the car Thomas was talking about. He tilted his head, staring at it curiously, but then remembered what the other said about trying to act normal, so, he did. Getting into the back of the car, he looked to Thomas a bit worriedly for his health, and how he was doing.

At the same time, Fintan was slightly terrified when the car turned on. He jumped a bit, gripping the seat slightly as he bit his lip, looking out the window. He was doing his best not to freak out, as Thomas had asked of him, but, being a sea creature and not dealing with such things like this, it was new, and rather terrifying the sounds that it made, and how they zoomed past other loud cars and whatnot.

Thomas kept on glancing back at Fintan with a slightly worried expression while Linda seemed to be growing a bit irritated and annoyed. Finally, she leaned in a bit closer to the pianist so the merman wouldn't hear and gave him a sharp glance. "What's wrong with him? Is he car sick?" She asked quietly while Thomas shook his head and smiled a bit sadly. "I'll explain everything later." He murmured out and looked out through the window. They were in the city now... Los Angeles, and to be honest, he hated it.

Everything from air to the ground here was poisoned with smoke and various trash, as well as people talking rubbish. The pianist found everything disgusting... But Fintan would probably hate this even more. His light brown eyes turned back to the said male as he let out an apologetic smile. "I'm sorry about all this... I'll tell you once we're alone, okay?" He asked softly while Linda pretended to ignore them.

After a bit, they reached the hospital and Thomas frowned slightly. The smell, the awful old doctors and nasty nurses. He hated them all. With a sigh he got out and closed the door behind him while pressing the cloth tightly to his head. "Well... Let's go see doctor Grumpy..." He mumbled out in clear irritation. His doctor was an old guy who was always, always complaining. The weather, the prices, the food - literaly everything.

Fintan looked out the window as he watched the scenery pass by. The more they drove and went further from Thomas' house by the beach shore, the more the scenery changed to things Fintan couldn't even imagine and think up of. The sand disappeared, and was replaced by cement and pavement of asphalt. There were tall buildings that grew high, seeming to tough the sky, lined up right next to each other. Building littered Fintan's view of bright lights and thousands of people walking around on the streets, hundreds of cars passing by on each street. Fintan couldn't help but be anxious, he'd never been to land before, let alone something different than the shore. Before, as a merman he could at least see the shore of the sea, whenever he surfaced the water near the shore.

Fintan heard the two whispering amongst themselves in the front seats, but he wasn't really listening, or hearing what they were saying. He was too overwhelmed and in awe at all the sights of the city before him, just outside the window of the car. He stared outside as they soon enough pulled up to a large, very expensive sort of looking building that was white and very clean looking. He tilted his head in curiously as they got out of the car and looking up at it in awe. He really was just silent in shock of everything around him.

Thomas sighed out softly as he looked over at Fintan and walked to him, lightly tugging at his hand for him to follow. "Come on, the faster we get through this, the faster we can go see my sister..." He muttered out as he gripped the merman's hand lightly and walked off to the hospital, a curious Linda following after them. Her eyes seemed to sparkle. Literaly. She gazed at their combined hands, at Thomas' expression and the somewhat lost Fintan - it seemed like she was squeeling internally. Just before they entered the building, she put both of her hands on the pianist's shoulders and grinned widely. "How come you didn't tell me you had a boyfriend?" She asked happily while Thomas seemed confused, then surprised, then embarrassed and finally - flustered.

"He's not!" He almost whined out as he huffed, let go off Fintan's hand, pushed Linda away slightly and stormed into the hospital with a slight blush on his cheeks. No, Fintan wasn't his boyfriend! Though... He was definitely attractive... And nice, and kind and actually... Kind of cute. Thoughts like that caused his cheeks to become red - he always got embarrassed over things like this rather easily. Still, all it took for his cheeks to return to the usual pale color was seeing his doctor, who - what a surprise - seemed to be worried. "Boy, what happened?!" He exclaimed while walking hurriedly to the pianist who let out a somewhat nervous smile. "I fell..." He muttered out before he was dragged out to take care of the wound, leaving Fintan alone with Linda, who immediately gripped his hand. "So, who are you really?"

Fintan got out of the car, staring up at the large building. He was curious about it and its structure, tilting his head, before he felt himself being tugged along by the hand. He looked to Thomas, smiling lightly as he nodded and followed along the other, holding his hand back. He looked around the hospital as they headed inside to the reception area. He wrinkled his nose a bit at the chemical smell that was everywhere, frowning as he looked around at all the people and everything else. He was too distracted by the hospital and looking around at everything going on, he wasn't paying attention fully to the conversation starting between Thomas and the woman.

He blinked a bit, tilting his head as they cought his attention finally and he looked back to them curiously "Boyfriend?" he inquired, confused as he looked back to Thomas as though for an explanation or somthing. He was unaware of the relationship terms between humans, as, for the merpeople underwater, it was more in an animal sense, referring to each other as mates and such. He was confused as Thomas grew red in the face and flustered. He was about to question the other, but soon enough a doctor came out and was pulling Thomas away to a room to be examined and taken care of and everything. He stared off where his human friend disappeared to, before looking back to the woman beside him when she spoke. He blinked a bit, tilting his hand at her question, feeling suddenly nervous and awkward "U-uhm, sorry, what? I'm just a friend of Thomas..." he trailed off, worried the woman may be suspecting something.

Linda groaned softly and huffed as she gripped the other's shoulders. "Just friends don't hold hands like this!" She whined, looking at the merman with a pout on her face. "Come on, you two are totally in love, right?" She asked with a wide smile as she chuckled and gripped both of Fintan's hands with her own. "I'm Linda, by the way, and you?" She asked cheerfully before letting out a hum, her eyes still with the same somewhat maniac spark in them. Truth was, getting Thomas into some relationship had been one of the main goals for her. She always thought that the other had the looks and the personality to get anyone he wanted...

"How did you two meet, anyway? Was it romantic? What about dates?" She seemed to be in a world of her own by now. Linda was damn certain that the two were a couple - and a cute one at that. Her light green eyes showed great happiness as well as curiousness - just before a nurse walked to them, grabbing Fintan's hand with a frown. "May I ask what happened to your leg?" Linda on the meanwhile, huffed and pulled the merman away with a scowl. "We were talking. Shoo."
