SqueezeBabe
Yo Ho-Ho and a cock in the arse. Shiver my timber! It would make me jolly if we could roger. These are just some of the things you will hear if you join this Pervy Pirate RP. If you wish to join this journey across the seven seas, you will need to acquaint yourself with my rules: Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. I don't do character sheets, so please, post your little character story below. We can either do separate ships, or all be crew on the same ship - this will all get discussed at some point. Matey's unfurl your sails!
ravenwyck
I'll get back to that whole character story thing...but I am reserving my spot now.

InkompleteWish
Uhm if it's okay then can i take a spot too? I would want to be the cook if possible.
SqueezeBabe
Yes, this will be a group RP... and yes you can all join in - my only requirement is that you write your little character story as an "audition" (don't worry, you two already "pass" *winks*)
ravenwyck
I thought about making a case for why I should be Captain. But technically this is Squeeze's RP, so I guess I should cede my natural and obvious position as the Captain to her, if she wants it. I actually really kind of want to be the Quartermaster. *shrugs*
ChibiMonkey
I'd love to join if there are still spots open! As the Navigator/Sailing master if it's still open? I'll of course make the little description part about him too if I am still able to join this magnificent looking rp :

You are in charge of 'boarding' parties and handling the 'swords.' Bwahahaha! But lets not forget we all still need to write a short character story so that Captain Strict Rules knows we can write properly. InkompleteWish
Yay~ Hope it's okay that i wrote a bit of his history. I tried to include everything worthwhile that you should know about him at the beginning. My little 'audition': A cold winter had swept over the lands, leaving behind a white blanket. This had been the hardest winter the small island of Hiver had seen, the snow was stacked so high, you couldn't even walk around. The worst thing was when the old barn ceiling gave up and their whole lot of supplies have been spoiled by the cold and the iced water. Food had been scarce and the regular pirates that stranded here took the reamins. The villagers were doomed, if it wasn't for a small plantation and storage inside a cave, hidden and not known of. Ethan had been managing it since his kiddy years. His parents where gone most of the time due to them being pirates. Once they left and never came back. But Ethan didn't bother much with it, he was raised by the whole village anyway. So it went without saying that the you Ethan Flint divided his little 'treasure' between the people in this harsh winter. And as seasons came and went, Ethan grew into a sturdy young lad. With his age of 26 and his midnight coloured short and spiky hair he was known as the town's casanova. But the village life didn't sit well with him, he longed for a long journey. Maybe even getting to know how his parents died. If they died in lots of traps because they were on search for a legendary treasure or not. After having listened to many pirate stories in his younger years, he was delighted to start his own pirate life soon. Ethan didn't like thievery from common people but he did like to sometimes 'borrow' some accesories from rich people that came to visit. His earpiercing was prove of that. It didn't take long for Ethan to find a suitable crew to board with, the life of fun, treasure and parties were going to start. And Ethan was part of it, as the cook. If being a pirate was his destiny, then being a cook was his life. Being proud of his skills was a part of him and the villagers only agreed. The tavern could live without their best cook........meh probably not but Ethan didn't care that much. The island has lived up to now and it will continue to live, even without him. There were more important matters to attend to. For example finding a treasure that was worth enough finding.
Lady.Taser
Luc grinned down at the new recruits, some were skinny lads like he had been back when he joined his first pirate ship. Others big, beefy men who were showing off their muscles to the younger lads, this brought an array of reactions from awe, admiration and even disgust on a couple of faces. Obviously some of the lads preferred the more slight build of man, or maybe even woman. With a loud whistle he brought silence from the group. All 20 men stopped and looked at him as they gathered on the main deck of the ship. Luc himself was currently stood on the steps leading down to them. "Right Lads now I have your attention I hope you are all ready. Only about 5 of you will actaully get to sign up to the Captian's articles today. First you have to prove to me you won't be just deadweight on the voyage." Luc gestured to some of the pirates already a part of the crew to join the recruits on deck. "So we are going to test your fighting skills among other things. So First of all say hello to your partner and ask them for your preferred weapon to fight with so that you can train with them." The flurry of activity that followed was watched with a keen eye as he picked out the ones which had never fought before and moved them down his on his mental list of ability. I am gonna stop there.... otherwise I might not stop typing lol Have fun reading Squeezy Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. though if you want more let me know
InkompleteWish
He he, i was kinda wanting to write more....but i will leave that for the rp itself. Anyway, i noticed yesterday that there were many mistakes in my post so i wanted to change it....until my internet broke that is. I clicked 'send' but my internet was like: Nope! You can't change it and tomorrow will be to late anyway. Ha ha ha. .....i really hate my internet for that. UndertheWeather
So I got carried away...I know it's meant to be brief, and I did try to be brief. But yea. Contains mild sex and violence =/ The heat in the cramped cabin continued to rise. Firm hands held onto the bony hips; long fingers digging into the white skin, tearing away the top of the epidermis layers. With a strong thrust, the surgeon shoved his erected penis into the butthole of his well-built companion, prompting the receiving male to arch his back further, and let out a soft moan and an erotic whine through his wet, thin lips. Dr Eijkman felt the pleasurable sensation shot up his spine as the anal muscles contracted around his bulging erection. Propped against the tawdry bed on his elbows, and knees rammed into the wooden flooring, the sailing master turned his head to one side – a smirk stretched across his face – and eyed the ever-changing countenance of the surgeon as his body indulged in the gratifying sensation from the steady thrusting. The locket hung upon the chain around his neck oscillated to the rhythm of the surgeon’s movement. “How long are you going to keep this up, Doctor? When is it my turn?” he teased. The surgeon slid forward; the sailing master shuddered as the warm skin brushed against his back. One hand left the side of his hips, and wrapped itself around his chest; the surgeon nuzzled against the back of one ear, and whispered, “Men who talk during sex are unattractive.” The sailing master laughed, “Oh, Christiaan…” Under the guarded protection of the darkness, the two naval officers silently quenched their lust for the flesh and bones of the other. Wordless articles that meagrely dotted the surgeon’s confined cabin, soundlessly gazed at the debauchery – the licentious secret safeguarded by their tied tongues, but their memories were unmoved and clear for they had seen no one but the surgeon himself; and now the sailing master. It was the same as when Dr Eijkman was back in The Surgeon’s Academy before he joined the government’s fleet on H.M. Bougainvillea; no one had ever been invited into his personal space as he saw it to be. It was slightly past midnight – the two were by then curled together in the narrow bed – when the ship was rocked with a sudden jolt, and loud firing of the cannons were clearly audible. The sailing master instantly jumped from underneath the rough-woven blanket and reached out for the maps that he had insisted on taking with him; the surgeon sat frozen in the shabby bed – it was his first encounter with pirates in his two years as a naval surgeon. The experienced sailing master scrambled in the darken cabin, searching for the paraffin lantern – it was not light that he desired, but fire. From the sound of the racket, and the movement of the ship, he knew that the pirates had the upper hand in this. “What are you doing?” asked the surgeon, his voice trembling. “Protecting what is most important,” came the reply. The sailing master had found the paraffin lantern, and as he had guessed, the matchbox was next to it. With dexterous fingers he struck a match, and all at once the cramped cabin was illuminated, revealing the shadowy figures hiding behind each and every object. He threw the burning match onto the maps, and began to strike more. “The maps? But you are burning them!” “You and I, they will not kill. The utility of our existence as what we are ensures that. We can do the least, but the maps have it all,” said the sailing master, still focused on creating a bonfire, “They must not fall into the hands of the pirates. They must be protected even if it meant destroying them.” To Dr Eijkman, the sailing master seemed to have been through this many times. He, on the other hand, had experience nothing. But there were two things that had just learned: One, he would not be killed, and two, he must protect what was most important... “…even if it meant destroying it…” “What?” the sailing master turned around. There was only a second of surprise; the silver knife glinted in the light of the burning maps, its blade reflected in the bewildered grey eyes. The movement was swift and precise. The blade plunged down deep into the throat of the naked man, tearing away layers of flesh underneath its merciless edge. The surgeon felt it: the same sensation he perceived when dissecting bodies on the surgical table. But this time it was different; there was a stir within him, and tears welling up in his eyes. The internal jugular vein ruptured, gushing out blood right at the surgeon’s face. He pulled the knife out, and the sailing master fell backwards, his hands hysterically attempting to stop the fountain of blood, and his throat constricted as the red fluid began to flow down his nasal passage, chocking him with his own blood. Within two minutes, the body stopped moving. Dark eyes were fixed on the dreadful view, and everything was registered in the memories that would never be told to any living being. The silver scalpel glinted under the light of the paraffin lamp. Dr Eijkman looked at the reflection staring back at him, one that did not resemble him, but of the image in his memory. Instinctively, he reached up and touched the locket that hung on a chain around his neck. How long had it been? Since then? Since the beginning of his piracy life? UndertheWeather
Oh by the way, I don't know if this matters at all, but I'm not sure there is a specific position in the pirate ship as a cook. Apparently, cooks are typically disabled crew members who were allowed to stay on board if they can cook meals that don't kill the crew Off I go for now. ChibiMonkey
Here's mine! I hope it's alright :3 Anything else needed let me know~ Sorry it took a little to get out He could hear the distant call and yelling of voices behind him, calling out and yelling, but nothing was about to stop the male. His feet carried him, and the adrenaline forced him to not stop, to keep on running and not look back. He couldn't stop now. If he did, he would surely be dead meat. These were actual, real life pirates. He couldn't believe his town was being ransacked and trashed by them. They were demanding sign ups, particular people they seemed to need for their crew. Like a Sailing Master, or, as the villages and towns more commonly knew them by, a Navigator. One of which, Levi was. Levi was a skilled navigator, had the smarts and knowledge just as good as any other for the job. He'd been on the seas before, with his father as a young boy. His father worked a fishing boat, and he was taught various things about sea life on a ship from a young age. But he took an interest on being a navigator, he enjoyed it, and grew up helping with the navigation on his fathers fishing boat. Now though, he never thought something he loved so much would be the ruin of his life - or, so he thought, at first. A sailing master was a smart man, and a highly desired one. Skilled ones good at their job were hard to find, as it wasn't a job just anyone could pick up and do. And now, his town was selling him out on it. A sailing master seemed to be what the pirates were looking for - seemed they recently offed their last one for getting them stranded and lost several times. And now, to save their own lives and stop any further wreckage of the town, they sold Levi out to the pirates. That was over five years ago, the start to his pirate life. He no longer was with those initial pirates, managing to leave the overly violent and immature pirates. He got out without a scratch by getting them another to fill his position, that way they wouldn't have a problem with it. And before they could think twice about it, he was gone. Though he hated that crew, and how he was introduced to the pirate life, he had to give them a bit of credit. Without that event, he probably wouldn't be a pirate today. He was where he felt he belonged, always having loved the sea and sailing across it, and now on a crew he very much enjoyed being with, and could say he wouldn't mind dying at sea with if their ship were ever ambushed and sunk. InkompleteWish
Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. Yeah, i noticed too. I think i was a bit to much into One Piece lately (bad idea to get ideas from that anime) but i really liked the idea of a cook but if we want to stay a bit more traditionally, then i might make Ethan a little 'housemaid' on the ship maybe. Cooking, cleaning, sewing and maybe even repairing the ship's small 'injuries'. So to say a little from everything. But if not, then i will think of another position for him, though i guess most are gone already. But hey, i wasn't planing for Ethan to be a special pirate so he might just be a simple crew member. SqueezeBabe
Ok... Coz we're a bit all over the place (so forgive me If i'm actually _wrong_) Me: Captain Raven Quartermaster Du: Weapons Master (Bosun) Under: Cook (maybe this is open to debate and change) Inkomplete: (NFI - gomen, i'm horribly slack and I can't remember shit) Monkey: Navigator - (it's a nice idea, however, in the "real" world, Officers do the navigating and stuff from the maps, sextant and stars, but this NOT the real world, so we can see what we can swing) Apologies, I've just lost a toenail so I'm seeing pink elephants and shit... but that's it in a nutshell... I would like to think that we would need a Surgeon, Cabin "Boy", Cook, First Mate, Carpenter.... *consults Mr Babe further* then there be the actual "pirates" or the fighting men... So it's all up to you. ^.^

ChibiMonkey
Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. Soo, is it alright if my character is the Navigator? Or no? It's your rp so i don't mind changing it if you don't it ^^ I wasn't trying to make up a position, I had thought a navigator was an actually position because i read (online, so, easily i could be wrong xD ) that it was, and that most navigators, or sail masters, were forced into the crew because of their ability to read and use the sextants and stars and all for knowing where they were, since not everyone can very well. InkompleteWish
He he, if we don't have enough people in this rp, i will make my little Ethan an all-rounder. So he will take up the job as cook (which is his main job on the boat), carpenter and maybe even the cabin boy if that one is really needed. XD But of course only if all of us are okay with it and no one else wants to join and take the jobs. I don't want to make my Ethan to important after all. XD And i think everyone of us can be fighters, everyone is still a pirate after all. It wouldn't hurt a pirate cook to be able to use his little knives not just in the kitchen for example.^^ But yeah, i wish you luck and a long rest to get over your lost nail. I haven't lost one yet but i imagine it really hurts (or at least gets on your nerves later on).
ravenwyck
Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. , as your Quartermaster it is my job to help ensure the ship has what it needs to sail and it is also my responsibility to represent the interests of the crew. In the fulfillment of that office I would like to make these suggestions and observations. The Sailing Master (aka Navigator), which Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. wants to be, was the officer in charge of looking after the navigation equipment (charts, maps, instruments) and directing course. It was not necessarily uncommon for a captain or other officer to have some skill in navigating, but it was a specialized skill that typically called for a specialized officer. In Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. 's case, I think she was looking for something more along the lines of Master at Arms. Not every ship would have a Master at Arms, but in the case of ships that did, the Master at Arms was in charge of making sure that the crew members knew which side of the sword to stick people with and might act as commanding officer (below the captain of course) in boarding party situations. The Master at Arm's would also be in charge of the Armory (alone or with a what basically amounts to a blacksmith, depending on the size of the ship). Basically, the 'go to' for all things melee and small arms. The Bosun (or Botswain) on the other hand was typically charged with upkeeping the ship itself, weighing anchor, deck activities, and basically making sure the ship itself has what it needs to keep afloat. In the matter of cooks, Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. , I personally think a little bit of flexibility should be allowed here. I like the idea of having someone specialized who's job this is regardless of whether or not it is historically accurate. Other important positions that haven't been filled: Botswain (Bosun) - Supervised ship maintenance and supply stores (only unfilled if Captain Strict Rules is going to allow Du to be the Master at Arms Master Carpenter - cause being able to do repairs while at sea was essential Master Gunner - In charge of the guns and powder storage. On some ships he would also perform the same functions as the Master at Arms in that he would be in charge of all large and small weapons, but in this case he would not have an active role in boarding parties because he would be busy overseeing cannon fire. Cooper - Not exactly an necessary position, but successful captain often chose to keep a cooper on board because barrels were one of the primary forms of storage and their upkeep was important. Well maintained barrels were a must for food, water and alcohols supplies. Sailmaker - Another luxury position, sail maker's were in charge of maintaining all the import fabric bits of the ship, the most important being the sails themselves, but also hammocks, flags, and maybe the odd bits of sewing. Other positions: Mates - Mates were basically apprentices to the master officers and positions. Large ships often had several. The First Mate is the captain's second in command or 'right hand.' The Quartermaster and the First Mate were often the same person and in this case I am claiming that as well. Cabin Boys and Powder Monkeys - were positions typically held by young lads or boys. A cabin boy typically ran messages and errands for officers and on a legal boat was often a moneyed boy sent to begin learning the sea trade. Powder Monkeys on the other hand assisted the gun crews and were often treated rather poorly. It was not uncommon for them to be kidnapped and pressed into service, but if they survived long enough they often earned 'real' positions among the crew. Able Seamen (Able Bodied Sailors) - Basic crew, the backbone of any ship. This is the bulk of the crew, you average sailor/pirate. Riggers - These were sailors with the particular brand of crazy that made them ideal for climbing the mast and mucking about in the sails. Gunners - Normal sailors who specialized in working with the cannons or other artillery. The bigger the ship the more specialty positions it is likely to to have filled. These can include random luxuries like a bard, or a barber or men called 'Strikers' who specialize in hunting sea turtles and other kinds of fish to help supplement the crews diet, every man holding those kinds of non-necessary position would usually also have normal sailing duties. These would be my recommendations are your Quartermaster, in the interests of both a smoothly running ship and the morale of your crew, oh great and benevolent Captain. There is the matter of the ship itself, that will need addressing as well, before we can get our voyage underway. To start, What kind of ship are we sailing? Here is a small selection of choices for my Captain's (and the crew, of course) perusal. Brigantine: They had two masts, four sails, and a displacement of about 150 tons. They had about 10 cannons and could house about 100 pirates. (This was a popular choice for pirates and sea captains of the age in general, a nice mid-sized choice.) Sloops and Schooners: Both had a 100 ton displacement and rooms for 75 pirate crew. These were smaller ships. The Sloop featured a single mast and 10 cannons. The Schooner had two masts. (These were popular for their speed and shallow draft (allowing them to hide in shallow coastal waters that large warships couldn't enter.) Lastly, I would bring your attention to the Frigate In history, only a few pirates (notably, Blackbeard) were man enough to capture, and therefore command a frigate. The frigate could carry 190 men. It typically had 24 to 38 guns. The frigate featured three full masts and a raised forecastle and quarterdeck. Courtesy of Assassin's Creed here is size comparison of a few ships. Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. And this is a frigate in a modern setting to help give an idea of its actual size. Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. (As a reference note, Man of War just meant 'warship' at the time and could include a number of ships of varying size and complement including the frigate. However, "the man-of-war design developed by Sir John Hawkins, had three masts, each with three to four sails, which could be up to 200 feet long and could have up to 124 guns: four at the bow, eight at the stern, and 56 in each broadside. All these cannons required three gun decks to hold them, one more than any earlier ship." [courtesy of wikipedia] Ships of that size were often slow and lacked agility though, due to their sheer size and weight.) There are of course other ships and this is by no means a comprehensive list, you can feel free to look around some more on your own or pick one of these options. Personally I vote for the frigate, big enough to be both hardcore and intimidating, its makes us elite without stretching the bounds of believability. Since pirate ships are more or less a democracy, I hope we can pick something we are all happy with. Which would bring us to... What is the ship's name? A detail, I know, but a very important one. I look forward to everyone's input and of course our Captain's final decisions in these matters.
