There were times when enough was enough. What his father said annoyed him to all ends that he actually stormed out of the council hall like he was ten years old again. It didn’t matter that he was a grown man of twenty, or the fact that in a few years he would be ruling this kingdom. His family’s kingdom when the time came, but to know that it actually wouldn’t be just his kingdom but his future… He didn’t even want to think about it, he couldn’t be marrying someone useful; he was marrying someone useless, well in his eyes anyway. Returning to his chambers he started to mutter and pace about his room. He stopped by the balcony. He was still in his riding leathers and he started to take them off and throw them into the corner. He was over reacting, even if they were at rather bad terms with the other Kingdom that his father wanted him to marry the heir of. He couldn’t get that out of his head. He was acting like a child. He leaned on the railing on his balcony.

He was going there in the next couple of days and he needed to pack. For some reason they agreed that they would wed in their lands and not his own. He didn’t like this idea, but as the crowned Prince he still had to follow the King’s orders.

He started to pack, “in the name of peace,” he growled as he threw, rather violently, things in his travel pack. He was heading into enemy territory with only a hand full of his own men. It was best to get this over with and prove to the elders and council that this was a very bad idea.

And within the next day he was traveling to the enemy kingdom.

In the rival kingdom, there is a male prince getting ready for a wedding. He smiled as he headed to bed, eager to meet the princess or prince of the other kingdom. He was getting his wedding clothes delivered that following morning. But he knew it was only because of the mother of his country was once the queen of the other kingdom's, king's wife, only reason why they were fighting in the first place. "The parents are bitter towards each other, I know that. Just hope they aren't making me wed my half brother." He shivered at the thought then sighed and got in bed. He woke wake early for the arrival of the prince or princess.

The travel to the Kingdom was more tiring than he had thought it was. They met the other kingdoms guards a few miles outside the city. They walked through the city. He sat on his horse in the dark brown riding leathers as the carriage was being brought empty up to the castle. He looked at it. It was so different than what he was used to seeing in his own kingdom. When they got to the front he dismounted as foot servants went to open the carriage and looked inside.

“Empty,” he said to them, his handful of guards dismounted. One of them went over and took his case; he took the saddle bags off his horse and glared at the servants that tried to take them. “Show,” he said annoyed.

Walking into the palace he looked around the halls. His black hair was pulled back in a tight braid, as his green eyes looked at the paints and the decorations in the castle. They entered what was the throne room, he was still dusty from the travel but he really didn’t care.

“Prince Levi Donavven of the Oceiloth Kingdom,” said one of his guards, he bowed his head slightly in a small form of respect.

The princes of Smit was there to greet the prince of Oceiloth. The king was behind him. "Greetings." Were said with a stern look from the king. But on a difference, prince Jact was pleasing in every form. He smiled at Levi and bowed. "Please, it would be my pleasure to show you to you're room and to make yourself at home." He spoke once he stood from the bow. He turned to look over his shoulder at the king. "That is if we're dismissed." The rest of the princes waved hello from a distance.

Levi looked to the princes standing around and then to the king, followed by the one that spoke. He shifted the pack on his shoulder, his guards shifted closer to him and he waved them off, they didn’t like being in the heart of enemy territory. He tried to force a smile and bowed his head. “That sounds wonderful,” he said as smoothly as he could. He straightened and looked to the king. Being dismissed was more of a blessing than he thought it was. Turning to follow the other male to his chambers, which he had little doubt was going to be close to this princes.

“My lord,” one of his guards started. Levi turned giving him his attention. “Two men outside your door at all times, we’ll take three shifts.”

“As you will,” Levi replied back.

“Prince Jact,” another guard started. “Do you happen to know when the wedding will take place?”

Levi glared over at him, he didn’t want to know that, but stayed silent.

  • 2 weeks later...

"A couple days or unless you're prince is ready now, I'm sure my kingdom can put it together today." He said with a soft friendly smile. 'Two men outside his door at all times?! How will I ever consummate the marriage?!' He thought to himself as he walked Prince Levi and his guards to the wing they would be sharing, both his clan of royal guards and Prince Ject's. 'Eh, maybe he won't even be worth it...if he does not be a suitable partner.' He thinks to himself and keeps walking. 'Heck, I'll go to one of my concubines if he isn't worth me.' He kept thinking cynically.

Levi listened. “A couple of days rest will do just fine,” he said, fresh off a long road of travels he didn’t really feel up for a large marriage at the moment. He watched the other prince carefully; the male had gone silent as they walked. Servants bowed to them as they passed halls and doors. Levi was content to let the other be silent but his ever trusty first guard had different plans for him.

“You’re majesty; perhaps also it would be best if my lord could have instruction on the laws and customs of this land. Even if we have been at war with each other,” the guard said. Levi turned to look at him as the guard smiled towards the prince. “Spending time with each other, no matter the disagreements,” he gave a look to Levi, “would be best before the marriage.”

He would play along. “My guard makes a valid point Jact,” he said leaving off the title of the others name.

When he was snapped out of his thoughtful daze, by the other prince and Cory; the first guard. "I'll set up an appointment with one of our law men or tutors. I'm not so good at teaching these matters. But I agree on spending time with each other." He smiled brightly, liking the idea. "Cory, would it be alright to have one or two of my own guards with us in the room and outside, if you think our men can get along well together?" He added in on the conversation.

Cory looked to Jact and made a face. “They would be welcome to stay outside the door with us, I don’t want anyone else inside my prince’s chambers, other than yourself of course, I am sure you can understand my reasons your highness,” the man said.

“Wonderful,” Levi replied, he didn’t miss the smile from Cory as the man looked towards his own prince.

When they finally reached the chambers Cory set two men to keep guard outside the room and sent the others away to rest. He personally wanted to meet the two guards that Jact had wanted to stand outside. However he would not allow them in the personal chambers of Levi.

“Is there a private bathing chamber?” Levi asked as he tossed his packs to the side, he took off his sword belt and lay the weapon on the nearest flat surface.

The door to Levi's chambers closed behind him as both princes entered. Jact took down a mental note that Cory had noticed I would be to wed his prince. "Private bathing chambers? I will be glad to have someone bring you a basion and face towel, that you can freshen up with." He said with his charming smile. He watched as the other discarded his weapon. "Wonderful..." He quoted his soon to be husband. "You're guard is a clever one." He pulled out a small box and handed it over. "What is inside is a gift. I hope you accept it as a token of our wedding." He said calmly but stuttered on the last couple words due to being nervous.

Levi turned to him, a basin and face towel wouldn't be enough to get the road dust and grim off of him. "I will just head into town then for a bath," he responded. He turned to him as he said his guard was clever. "Cory had my back when I was on the battle field more times than I could count, he's experienced and he knows what has to be done," he responded. Pausing looking through his saddle packs as he looked to the box. He took it and then tossed it on the bed. He looked at Jact looking over him calmly.

"I dont know what you're thinking, but this marriage is for political peace between our countries, not for any other reason," he said looking at the male. "You think it other wise?"

"No, that is not needed Levi." He said calmly. "I'll escort you to the private baths. Would you want my company in there? Yes in fact, I did think otherwise. I am quite happy meeting you and being you're son to be husband. You see, for all my life...I have been interested in men, mostly. I'll spare you the details." He looked at Levi with determination, and let the little rejection of his gift slide. He then turned on his feet and headed for the door. "Let me take you to the baths." He said as he turned the knob, quickly walking out. He looked at Cory and gave him a brow raise of interest. 'I wonder if they would both care to tell their war stories with me.' He thought as he walked past him. He lead Levi to the bathing chambers and began undressing after having a maid fetch some guards of his and some after bathing attire for both princes. She left in a hurry.

Would he regret telling Prince Levi, of Oceiloth Kingdom his interest in men, mostly? Would Levi hold his virtue in tack from the coming force that his Ject's manhood, lust, and romantic feelings?

Levi lifted a brow at him when he started to talk again. He removed the outer armor, tossing it to his other packs. He grabbed one of his saddle packs and followed Jact out of the room. Cory watched them and then followed along silently behind them. Once inside the room Levi took in a breath of the steamy air and shed the rest of his clothing without so much a thought to Jact or his guard. He got into the water and started to wash the travels off of him.

"To reply to you from earlier," he started as he leaned back against the tub. "I dont care that you like men, or if you have slept with women. This is not something you should take so lightly, we are still currently enemies. Also there is something else," he glared at the male. "I will slaughter anyone that touches you, either invited or not by you. I will not be married to a whore."

Jact also shed his prince garb, carefully discarding it on a small table. The bath tub was bring enough for two, but he choose to take another bath tub; which was end by end with the one Levi is in. He purposes, flashing him his body below the belt. He basicly eagerly dived into the water, sinking his full body into it. He had to fold his legs at the knees, with feet on the bottom of the tub. "But I have looked past the enemies part, Levi. We're equals now, my dear." He said with a playfully wink, which soon vanished when Levi, mentioned slaughtering. "Married to a whore? So I have to be fateful or you'll kill my father's concubines?!"

"Then I guess you, you need to man up and service me. Sorry to sound like a prude, but it's you're husbandly duties." He muttered the last two spoken sentences. "I'll see you tonight in my room." He got up out of the tub, and had his royal crest robe wrapped around him on impulse. Then the woman gathered his royal clothes and followed him. "She's just dropping off my clothes, don't think other wise." She left and gulped in fear on her way out after she got last look of Prince Levi.

Levi didnt seem bothered at the naked body. He chuckled when the other said they were equals. "You have to earn equalship Jact, it is not simply given for free, and seeing as how freely you flaunt yourself you havent yet earned that right," he responded as he leaned an arm on the tub. "Faithful yes you do. It is non-negotiable, I am sure you dont want me to spill any unneeded or innocent blood for the sake of keeping you in line. Not only that it is disgraceful."

He watched the other for a long moment when a maid walked in and then to Jact. "When and if I touch you will only happen after the marriage firstly, secondly Jact, prude is the lack of sexuality not the demanding of or wanting of sex. I would be much happier if you were prude about yourself, instead of thinking is a right you have."

He waved them off. "I will not simply kill anyone that assists you, only those that bed with you. There is a very big difference between the two."

As Ject and the maid arrived at his bed chambers, he ushered her inside and let her just place down his clothing then leave. He knew she would be gossiping about what Prince Levi said, as a warning to everyone to not get too close to Jact. The rival prince had left a bad taste in his mouth. But he knew, flaunting himself was a bad choice. He would apologize when he gets the chance. He sits on his bed and sighs heavily as what the other prince had said to him, back in the baths were running through his mind. "Like hell I would become a lack of sexuality. I'm damn proud to be whom I am!" He said to himself with anger. He bit his bottom lip. "But I'll try to be the best man for him. I want to be on his good side."

He then changed his clothes back into what he was wearing before. Then called a different maid, he gave her orders to summon two guardsmen outside his chambers. He then began spending his day, with reading on his studies of the other kingdom. During his breaks, he would spend them looking at erotica.

Levi watched him leave, his face turned sour. Cory bowed as Jact left the bathing chamber as he looked back to Levi and lifted a bow at him. Levi glared at the door his eyes glancing over his guard, the man leaned against the closed door and folded his arms.

“Cocky little shit,” Cory muttered.

Levi laughed, the deep sound echoing off the walls. “You keep being nice to him though, not like you,” Levi leaned back in the tub, one foot he propped up on the rim.

Shrugging a shoulder the blond haired male rapped his knuckles against the wood of the door in thought, “it seems he has hot blood, trying to bed you the moment you arrive,” he said, Levi’s lips turned up into a sneer, the look wasn’t missed by Cory. “Fine. I shall play watch dog. Though I will say I don’t like it.”

“You’re a good actor,” Levi said off handedly. The guard grunted in agreement before he went to wash himself, changing into a clean set of clothing, he watched as Levi finished his own bath and dressed in clean clothes.

They walked up the stairs, Cory bowed and headed one way as Levi went the other. Cory saw the two guards outside of Jact’s chambers, thinking he chose to just walk up and knock on the door. Ignoring the posted men now flanking him.

The books that Jact had available on Oceiloth were mediocre at best and the information in them were even less. Mostly maps of the land. There were some laws, but not nearly all of them, just seemingly the common ones that seemed to be standard throughout all kingdoms. Their punishments for the crimes however were far more heavy handed than most. If you stole your hand was taken, if you raped your genitals were cut off, if you committed adultery you were hung, and if treachery to the crown was judged true you were beheaded and your head was placed on a pike outside the palace walls. In the case of assassination attempts, if the assassin was caught before, during or after the act they were beheaded on sight and their head placed on pikes outside the palace walls. As for court graces and noble ranks and such, there was nothing to be found.

Jact walked over to the door and opened a peaking slot. He saw the eyes of Levi's right hand man. "You may not enter. So please step aside. I have official business to attend too." He said opening the door. "Excuse me, Cory." He said to him directly like before. "You can follow me though, I bet you know whom I'm going to visit." He said, dropping a blunt hint at the servant of the other prince. The guards divided the blonde from the Smit Kingdom's prince.

He began walking towards Levi's chambers in a quick pace. His guards that were following the One is a strawberry blonde, with light blue eyes and the other is a pure blonde with with green eyes. They are fully clothed in armor. Once there, she locked his room, to keep anyone else from entering it while he was busy. He looked at the other Prince's guards and gave them a friendly smile. "May I knock my my soon wedded husband's chamber door?" He asked, then they let him pass.

He knocked on the door and waited a response. The strawberry blonde and blonde guards were standing behind him, to not let anyone get close enough for an assassination attempt. One his sides, he had Levi's guards.

Cory bowed his head and followed behind the guards. He remained silent for the trip to his prince’s chamber. Once there the guards looked at him before he gave a slight nod to them, they parted ways to stand on either side of the door. Cory walked around the guards and Jact as he opened the door to the chamber. Levi was sitting in a chair with a book before him. Cory stepped aside and bowed to Jact.

Cory turned towards the hallway and lifted his brows at the guards before he closed the door on them, and leaned against it.

Levi didn’t bother looking up from his book as he turned the page and kept reading, seemingly ignoring those standing in the room.

After several minutes, he finally closed the book and rested it on his leg, looking to the prince and then to his guard and back.

“Can I help you?” he asked finally.

Jact noticed the bow of Cory. He smiled softly. "I wanted apologize for flaunting myself and for storming off the way I did. I let my little head speak too much of me." He said to Levi and walked over to the bed. "May I have a seat?" He asked. "You are right, acting the way I did was not proper of me. Will you forgive me?" He said with a soft expression. "I just wanted to share with you, that I've decided to be the best husband for you." He said reaching for the other's hand. He had the urge to kiss the top of it. He looked to Cory, whom was leaning against the door. "I apologize to you as well, for being rude when you came to my door." He then turned his attention back on his soon wedded husband."

Levi’s attention was on Jact for a moment before he turned back to his book. “Sit then,” he said when he other asked to sit down. He opened the book again as Jact explained his apology. Listening with half his attention on the prince, he looked up and closed the book again.

Cory shrugged a shoulder. “Do not ferret over me sire, I am simply a guard,” was his reply as he bowed his head towards them.

The prince turned to Jact and let out a breath as he rubbed the bridge of his nose. “Was that all you came here for or did you need something else?” he asked.

Cory cleared his throat gaining Levi’s attention. “It’s still early yet sire, and if I may suggest, perhaps a ride? Maybe pack a picnic; after all you are supposed to get to know each other before the wedding.”

“I didn’t give you permission to talk,” Levi nearly growled at Cory but let the intrusion slide. Cory smirked at him but otherwise remained silent.

"Sorry for explaining. Get to know each other, no matter the disagreements. Do I have permission to get closer? I see, we both have a interest in reading. That is what I was doing before coming here." He converses with him, even if he isn't listening. Jact directly looked at Levi's face, it not straying anywhere below the neck. While the prince's attention and line of sight on Cory. He gave him a smirk himself then mouthed the words, I like you. Not any content of lust or love, but in mutual respect of his character; that the prince of Smit has seen so far. "Would you like to have anything brought here to eat?" He asks of Levi. "You look worn from you're travels." You could cut the awkward tension with a butter knife.

Levi turned his attention back to Jact and then looked at the book he had been reading and sat it on the table beside his chair. He opened his hand to the other chair that was on the other side of the table. “I have something being brought up,” Levi said, he pushed the book he was reading a little more out of the way. It was a religious text judging from the symbol on the spine and the strange writing following it.

Cory lifted a brow at Jact and tilted his head down at him, understanding the unspoken words.

A short time after Jact said he looked tired from his travels a timid knock came to the door. Cory turned opened it and looked down at the servant; he moved aside and allowed the woman in with the tray. Quickly placing it down on the table she bowed and left.

Cory closed the door after her and folded his arms as he leaned against the surface, eyes closing.

There were two goblets on the tray along with two plates. Levi poured both goblets full from the pitcher of wine. Again he opened his hand to the offered food. Bread, chunk of roast, cheese and fruit. Levi took one of the goblets and drank from it before he leaned back in the chair. His eyes on Jact, the prince having his full attention for the moment.

Jact took a goblet and slowly takes a sip from it. He the begins dishing out the food for them both. He had a smile on his face. "This is nice." He began piling slices of cheese and meat on the bread, he had dished out for himself and began eating it. "I was actually reading up on our common laws." Jact, sat on the other side of the table. He ate slowly. "Are you pleased with being in each other's company now?" He asks after he drinks his food down with the wine. "Also seems like our guards are getting along well out there."

Levi watched him; he took the bread from his plate and looked at it a moment before he ate it, the goblet still in his hand as Jact started to talk again. He was silent while the other talked. “I do not find it overly pleasurable nor overly disagreeable,” he answered draining his cup before refilling the goblets and leaning back again.

“Guards are meant to be seen, not heard, if they are arguing, we wouldn’t know it until you left,” he replied, “unless your guards are more bark than their bite.”

Cory lifted his fist to his mouth and turned his head to the side slightly as he listened. Levi’s eyes glanced over at him but ignored him otherwise.
