Nicholi
Status: OPEN, FREE (However, I normally do not play Canon Characters or Canon Roleplaying very often. I can not pass up an oppertunity to play out one of my most favorite anime's of all time. Rurouni Kenshin. I need someone to play as Hiko Seijūrō. The setting is in Kyoto right after the Meiji Revolution. Himura Kenshin, heavily known as the Hitokiri Battōsai at this time has vowed never to kill again. In turn tossing his Katana and Wakizashi, only to hold a sakabatō (A reversed-edge sword, in english subs/dubs known as the Reverse-Blade Sword.). His desire to kill had gotten so great in the war that now, he can no longer find himself able to practice the Hiten Mitsurugi-ryū Style without turning back into the dreaded Hitokiri Battōsai once again. This is where he seeks out his Master, Hiko Seijūrō XIII, in hopes that this man can help him in destroying the Battōsai's nature of needing bloodshead. As you can see, I have done extensive research in order to get proper names right a long with the timing of this roleplay. PM me for a quicker response. I do hope someone wishes to help me with this idea! Note: I only paraplay (play by paragraphs), I would appreciate if anyone that wishes to partake in this roleplay with me to reply in the roleplay at least 1 paragraph (4-6 sentences) per reply/post. Please do not take it to heart if that whenever in the roleplay that my muse takes off with me and you end up with a really long reply (Ranges from 5-12 paragraphs, but most of the time that is during plot twists or fighting scenes.) to read. That does not mean you have to match my reply/post length. Just do the best you can to give me something to work with (AKA 1 paragraph minimum).) Name: Himura Kenshin Age: 28 years old Location: Kyoto History: Kenshin was born into a peasant family under the given name of "Shinta". After losing both his parents to cholera by age seven, he was sold into slavery. The slave-traders' caravan was attacked by bandits who kill all of the peasants except for Shinta, who was saved by a skilled swordsmanship master named Hiko Seijūrō. He renames the boy "Kenshin", as the name 'Ken' (sword) and 'Shin' (heart) were more fitting for a swordsman. After a few years under Seijūrō's guidance, Kenshin's wish to protect the people with his skills results in his abandonment of both his master and his training, which was left incomplete and with a heated bitter departure. His sword skills soon attracted the attention of Katsura Kogorō, a leader of the Chōshū clan. Kenshin was sent to Kyoto and assigned the role of an assassin, sharing the common goal of the Ishin Shishi upon the Tokugawa shogunate. Within the first six months of his career, he kills over 100 people, and eventually becomes known as the "Hitokiri Battōsai". At one point, he comes face to face with a woman named Yukishiro Tomoe, who initially wanted to avenge the death of her fiancé whom Kenshin had killed, but falls in love with him instead and starts a romantic relationship. After the crisis suffered by the Chōshū clan in the Ikedaya Jiken, both Kenshin and Tomoe act as a married couple to keep anyone from finding out Kenshin's true identity as an assassin and flee to a remote village. Sometime later, Tomoe meets with the leader of the Yaminobu, a fictional pro-Shogunate covert network of ninjas that had formulated a plan to assassinate Kenshin. She realizes that all along they had actually used her to create Kenshin's weakness. Meanwhile, Kenshin runs off to find his wife, but was ambushed by Yaminobu ninjas and was severely wounded. He manages to defeat them and eventually finds Tomoe with the leader of the Yaminobu. In a desperate attempt to defeat the leader, Kenshin blindly swings his sword, killing both his assailant and Tomoe, who jumps in at the last minute to save Kenshin from a fatal attack. Tomoe's knife flies into the air and coincidentally slashes Kenshin's already scarred cheek, creating the famous X-shaped scar across his left cheek. Before dying, her last words come to reveal the dark tragedy that ultimately leaves Kenshin forever changed. Following the death of Tomoe, Katsura, feeling heavily responsible for Kenshin's loss and his manipulation under the miserly traitor Iizuka, recruits Shishio Makoto to replace him as an assassin, and reassigns him as a guerrilla swordsman protecting the Imperialists. After the end of the Bakumatsu, Kenshin leaves the Ishin Shishi's ranks, his experiences resolving him to protect those unfortunate without the need for death and bloodshed. Arai Shakkū, a famed swordsmith of the Ishin Shishi and acquaintance of the Battosai, realizing the change that the turbulent era brought on to his friend, the virgin perspective that he now has resolved to keep, and concerned how his friend would carry his journey without the need for self defense and necessary force to carry out his ideals against the wayward, issues him the challenge to uphold his newfound path and tosses him the first of his signature weapon into the future, the kageuchi of the Sakabatou, marking Kenshin's end as a Hitokiri. Appearance: (Hitokiri Battōsai) (Himura Kenshin) A Long Awaited Reunion And here he was, walking along the same path the he thought he never would again return to. For the past year, he found himself in nightmares of what he had done within the Meiji Revolution. Being tricked into believing what he had done was the right thing. And yet, he found himself unable to break what the Meiji Revolution had brought out within himself. Hitokiri Battōsai. Bloodshead is all he knew now, it was as if it were second nature to him... or that is what he had thought back there. He didnt want to see the blood anymore, however, he also didnt want to see the weak suffer more than they already had within the Meiji Revolution. This was suposta be a time of peace and happiness, no suffering, no pain or fear of being killed within the shadows. But still, it happened almost every night now. Hearing screams of those whoms lives were being taken all to soon. And... in his dreams, he could hear their plea's. How could he have done all those terrible things to them? A flicker came to his eyes as he continued down this path, he knew where it lead. The realization of himself going to the only one he thought could keep Hitokiri Battōsai from killing needlessly once again. His footsteps came to a stop as his gaze stayed casted down upon the ground as he had made it to the clearing. A small hut in the center, where his Master now lived. Could he really ask for this man's help after what he had done to the man those many years ago? Flashbacks of what had happened between the two played out in his mind for a long moment. Yet, no sadness ever shown on himself. He was confused, he had just been tricked by the government into believing such lies. To believe that he was making a better generation for everyone around Kyoto. Only to be told that he had been betrayed, that they all had been betrayed by the ones they were working for... for a better life that was never to come. Kenshin's gaze lifted after such a long time with his thoughts. He had to try in the very least, and he felt as if his own Master... Hiko Seijūrō XIII, was the only one that would be able to change him back from being the Hitokiri Battōsai that he is now. "Master..." The word traveled in the wind around the place.
