Andrew spent a few hours working in his workshop in the back. He ended up going to sleep late at night. He had done a lot of thinking about how he could help the boy settle in. He woke up early the next morning and worked a bit more, he was repairing farming machines and it helped him think about things.

Sal slept like a rock. He liked sleeping, the hazy feeling reminded him of home. He cracked a small smile. Isn't that depressing. As he got up to start his day, he pulled on a white long sleeved shirt with light grey striped, with a black shirt over. Regular black skinny jeans he only wore because he was a twiggy kid. He walked into the kitchen, not seeing, Andrew. He must be busy... it being lunchtime, he went ahead and made a sandwich, eating in the kitchen while the cat climbed all over him. He winced at its claws but didn't want to try and pull it off.

Andrew came into the kitchen while Sal was eating. His hair was messy and he was wearing a t-shirt that had oil stains on it from his work. "oh, you're awake. Did you sleep well?" he got himself some water from the fridge and took a big gulp of it. "I got a call from the school district while you were asleep..."

Sal looked over at him and brushed his hair behind his ear, the best he could. He hated it's length, the way it was too long to be short but too short to be long. "Uh...Yeah I guess." He said, rubbing his eyes. His face looked very clear, since he normally wore alot of gaudy make-up around his eyes and on his lips. He glanced over, raising a brow. "Oh... did they say they don't want me?" Because I wouldn't either.

Andrew sighed and sat down at the table. "No, they said that your mother told them some things that could be concerning... So if you want to go to school you'll have to do some testing" he rubbed his forehead, trying to fight off a headache. The things that he had been told about Sal seemed nothing like the boy,he wasn't sure what to believe.

He tried to scowl, but it almost seemed more like a pout. I wonder what she's been telling everyone? Dumb bitch... He gently ducked down so the cat could hop onto his shoulder. He wanted to think, but silence peeved him. He was pretty sure he'd go insain if he count think of a way to combine the conversation- and break the silence. "So uh.... what'd she say? And if the school has a dress code..."

"I wasn't told her exact words... But whatever it was gave the distract a reason to believe that you could be dangerous in a classroom..." Andrew groaned in annoyance "it sounds like such bullshit, you're not a murderer. You're just a kid who's been through some shit..."

He wasn't surprised, but he was awfully upset. "...Yeah, but they probably would've 'thunk' that anyways..." He said, a bit bitter as he dropped his plate in the sink. He leaned up against the sink, rubbed his eyes. He kinda wished he could go home, but not back to his mom. He looked back at Andrew slightly. He seemed alot like a pale of his- more like a teenage then an adult. "Why'd you take me in anyways?"

Andrew looked over at Sal. "why? Well... I've had a lot of first hand experience with horrible foster parents, so I figured that if I could make life a little better for someone in that situation..." He trailed off and shrugged.

He paused before standing up straighter. "Yeah... do you know of anyone hiring around here? ....well, if there even is anyone around here... seems like the nearest house is so far away." He commented, peeking out a window above the sink. Nothing but flat grass as far as the eye could see. He knew the houses weren't that direction though.

Andrew watched him with a slight frown. "if you have a diver's license it'll be easier to get around..." he thought about the question for a moment. "there are some people with farms around here that could probably use a hand picking and sorting fruit... I could also drive you to town if you want to look around there... If you have any interest in machines I could pay you to help me out with work sometimes, at least until you find something you'd rather do"

He didn't care, shrugging. "Ah... I guess I don't care what job I have, so long as it pays for the work. Working with you sound fine, what will be the best option nearby and for pay though? And, no, my mom would never trust me in a car by myself..." He said, drumming his fingers against the counter.

"the places nearby will just be paying you minimum wage... I don't know about the stores in town..." Andrew sighed softly "the problem with getting anything that isn't within walking distance is that I might not always be able to give you a ride... I could help you get your drivers license so you could get a job there" he suggested
