kyoyuki135
I think it would be a good idea if we were able to delete or edit a post on our own.
Saga
Hello. You can edit, just within the first 24 hours. Reason is - each time when something is corrected, even if the smallest thing (just like adding a coma, per say) - the database is changed. Each next user can edit-abuse which leads to a lot of changes in the database. And we want to avoid that "edit abusing". If the thing is not corrected in 24 hours, then it is considered as something you have decided to let be this way (since usually people check after posting or before posting not after 3 months or 1 year). Even so, the staff agrees to make changes on things someone requests personally. You can read more about this decision here -> Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. . On matter of 'deleting', it is same as 'editing'. When you delete a post or a thread, it can heavily affect the database. Not to mention some people might 'delete' something by mistake. And restoring a permanent delete will be pain in the butt. So on matter of editing, you can edit in the frame of these hours - 24 (1 day). As I already have informed you here and on another thread you had opened. In the matter of deleting, it's not something you can treat as being on your personal blog to delete or restore any time you wish. YaoiOtaku is not the only community out there that holds the views of 'delete abusing' or 'deletion by mistake'. So it is something normal that we want to avoid such mess due to deletion. Another thing is that each time an old thread is edited or deleted, it directly affects the site information and how the site is 'read' by Google. That might lead to returning 'errors', and it is not healthy. That being said, thank you for the suggestion. (:
