Messenger~(Orochi and Ciel)

Though his parents still called Matthew a peasant,Alex was proud of Matthew's hard work. Meanwhile, Alex relaxed in the large library,reading to his heart's content until he grew bored. He later convinced his parents to give Matthew a raise for such hard work. Soon,it was time for dinner. They all sat down to dinner,and the King and Queen seemed a bit more happy,and they actually talked to Alex this time,and praised the servants for their hard work,while informing them that they will have a few days off to spend with their families for a few days. "Servants that wish to stay,raise your hands now." said the King. Alex gazed over to Matthew,wondering if he would stay or not.

Matthew hardly even poked at his food. He didn't feel like he could stomach it, in all due respect. He was tired... his back hurt... though he still used manners when it was required and he remained silent most of the dinner, his chocolate brown eyes not quite meeting anyone's at the table. Observing the conversation, when the King and Queen offered servants to stay, he contemplated this in his mind for a few moments before he raised his hand, to signify the fact that he was willing to stay.

Alex gave Matthew a smile as the King allowed it. "Good,then. Only three servants are staying,then." said the King. As everyone finished their dinners and put the leftovers away,Alex went back to writing his novel before going to sleep early. Alex was dressed into his nightgown by Matthew,as he got into bed,and went to sleep.

The next morning,Alex was up earlier than the servants,so he wandered the halls in a nightgown,cleaning the place quietly while his parents were still asleep. By the time Alex finished cleaning,the servants were just awakening. "Shh,pretend you were hard at work. My parents will be proud." whispered Alex to the servants,smiling bright as he tiptoed away to go have a bath drawn to clean himself,Matthew of course following to help him draw the bath to the right temperature and everything.

As Matthew followed the other, he felt incredibly dull. This man was rather peppy...but he wouldn't expect anything else of the man. As he walked in the bathroom, he drew the water, dipping his hand in to test the water temperature, to see if the water was too cold or too hot. When he got it to a warm temperature, he poured in a set amount of cleaning fluids so that the other would smell fresh and clean.

"There you go your highness, all ready."

"Thank you,dear Matthew." Alex replied politely,smiling as he undressed and entered the tub,sighing happily. "Perfect. No other servant has gotten the perfect temperature that I like." Alex said happily,as he relaxed.

After his cleaning,he got out and was dried,as he got dressed into his normal attire by Matthew. Alex hugged Matthew and smiled. "Thank you~" he said cheerfully,as he went off to go to the library.

Matthew nodded with a sigh as the other got out of the bath and went to the library. Now that he was a servant, he had little to no leisure time to go read a book or to spend with his family... it was stressing. He worked all day and had little time to sleep... but he just wanted to help his family out and repay the debt that he owed to the other... and it was just... it was hard not to give up. With a small huff, he went off to do his other chores.

Alex called for Matthew to join him in the library,and smiled. "I know you love to read books,so you have permission to read every book in this library. I'll let my parents give you a break so you can read down here with me for a while." said Alex,letting Matthew sit down next to him,so that they could read together.

Matthew blinked a few times as he bowed down to the other and said, "Yes, my lord." His freckled face didn't hold the usually peppy smile that it used to have when he'd greet Alexios at the gate to give him his mail. Though, with a small grin, he grabbed a book off of one of the shelves and sat down in the chair beside the other man, and began to read, his glasses slowly slipping down his nose as he did so.

Alex pushed up Matthew's glasses and smiled sweetly at him. After an hour or two of reading,Alex had fallen asleep,his head resting comfortably on Matthew's shoulder as he softly snored. Of course,Alex had to be carried to his bedroom to sleep peacefully. But when he was about to be put into bed,he clung to Matthew for dear life. "Mmm.. Noo.. Save me.." he mumbled in sleep.

When the other clung to him, Matthew sighed and asked, "Why do you need saving, my lord?" He placed the other in his bed, prying his hands off of his neck as he sat down on the chair beside his bed, where he respectively sat for two hours in order to watch the other male. He took out the book he had read the ngiht before by the other's side so that he wouldn't be bored in the dimly-lit room.

The next morning,it was time for servants to vacation to see their families. Alex volunteered to stay at home while his parents went on a cruise,knowing that princesses would swoon everywhere he'd go on that cruise. Alex waved goodbye to his parents,who were leaving for a few days on their cruise. Alex soon shut the door and announced, "Servants,no need to clean for a few days. You all shall take a break. This isn't a request,its a command!" said Alex,smiling amusingly as the three servants that were there smiled and sighed happily.

Matthew nodded simply with a small huff, unlike the other servants. He really didn't care so to speak, it would probably be the same anyways, except maybe he'd get to read occasionally. But since he was the young prince's personal servant, he probably had much more work to do than the other two. With a soft sigh, he then asked, "Then what would you like of us, my lord? We can't possibly just do nothing. If we don't clean, your parents will most likely notice."

"I will clean." said Alex. "This is your vacation,and I'm not going to make you work on your vacation. Do whatever you want! Jump on the beds,read books,I don't care! Just have fun." said Alex,shooing them off. "Go on! I'll take care of the cleaning!" he said,as he got into his cleaning attire,and started to clean the mansion all by himself.

Matthew sighed softly as he walked off to the library. He was in no position to question his master's command, nor did he want to defy him and receive a punishment. He was just a peasant, after-all, easily replaceable. His parents could probably fire him when they come back and find a replacement the next day like it never happened at all. He sat down in a chair rather lazily and took out the book he was currently reading, pushing up his glasses with a sigh as he indulged himself into the book for the next few hours.

Soon,the mansion was sparkly clean. "Whew!" Alex wiped the sweat off his forehead and got dressed back into some normal clothes,relaxing on his bed with a book as the servants relaxed. Alex felt warm and sticky,so he changed into his swimsuit and went to their indoor pool. Jumping in,he sighed happily as he cooled off.

Continuing to read, he was almost relieved that his master hadn't called or complained to him all day. And given that he still didn't require his presence, he continued to read his book, pushing his glasses up against with his index finger, a soft groan drawn from his lips as one of the side-characters died in a fire. This book seemed kind of boring and annoying, though he couldn't stop reading it. It was so enthralling...

After having a nice swim,he dried himself off,and went to go have a nap from being so exhausted. he tucked himself in and relaxed in the bed,sleeping peacefully. After an hour of sleeping,Alex heard a knock at the door. Alex looked around to see if any servants were around,and he didn't see anyone,so he opened the door himself. At the door was a princess who was very desperate for Alex. She had long,curly blonde hair and usually wore pink. She grinned at him and licked her pink lips. "I bought a new lip gloss,Prince Alex! How does it taste~?" she asked,as she leaned in and tried to kiss him. Alex yelled, "I UH.. GOTTA GO!" and slammed the door in her face. "DEVIL WOMAN!" he yelled,as he ran upstairs to retreat,causing worry to the servants as Alex hid,trembling.

Hearing a rather loud disturbance in the halls nearby, Matthew got up with a sigh and put down the book he was reading. Stretching slightly, he just noticed how tired he truly felt. Pacing down the hallway, he went to the staircase and went up it at a rather fast, yet relaxed pace. He needed to check to see if his master was alright. Walking to his room, he knocked on the door with a rather loud huff, "May I come in, my lord?"

"Y-yes,but don't answer the door.. Don't tell her I'm here.." Alex whined,as the doorbell was rang insanely,and the door sounded like it was about to fall any second from her hard knocking. Alex hopped into Matthew's arms,terrified. "Britney won't ever stop stalking me.." said Alex,pouting.

[{｡^◕‿◕^｡}Ciel]

"Isn't this why you have something called guards, my lord? If you don't like a person, I'm almost positive that you can have the guards just shoo her away." The former-messenger said this rather bluntly as he allowed the other to jump into his arms. This wasn't very comfortable. He wanted to tell his master to stop acting like an immature brat, but he knew it really wasn't his place to talk to him like that.

"But my parents like her,so they told the guards that she could do whatever she wanted with me!" whined Alex sadly. "They don't believe me when I tell them she's evil! She'll be all nice and polite until she sees me.." said Alex. He heard the door opening,because the guard let her in. "Oh Aleeeeex~" her voice was low and seething. "Come out.."

Alex squeaked like a little girl and hid under the bed. "Don't let her find me!"

With a rather harsh sigh, the younger servant said, "Yes, my lord." And with that, he went to the door and locked it, and sat against it, while pulling out his book and reading rather contently. Unlike his master, Matthew knew how to keep calm in most situations. Pushing up his glasses, he continued to read the story he was before... Even though the sound of a squealing girl filled the hallways, which quite frankly, he found rather annoying.

The girl banged her fists hard on the door. "Alex,you better let me in! If you don't,I'll tell your parents that you hit me!" she yelled. Alex rolled his eyes. "Its not polite to hit a man,or a lady." Alex replied smugly. "You little-!" she pushed open the door and growled. "When I find you,I'm gonna smooch you all over~!" she said,squealing. Alex did as he was taught and pretended to be dead. She pulled him out from under the bed and giggled. "I know you're just playing!" Alex struggled and yelled As his cheeks were soon full of pink lipstick stains.

Matthew nearly growled when he was pushed against the wall, hating the fact that the door nearly crushed him. Standing up, he sighed as he walked over towards the situation, "My fair lady, if you would excuse us, my lord has a private lesson tonight. He cannot have your presence tonight. Maybe next week. My lord has an incredibly tight agenda for the next few days, so if you may please exit the property, I have a dance lesson to teach. And if you don't, well, he may never be able to dance with you properly~" Matthew mostly said this with firm respect, although it was faked, but it was kind of hard to tell. He bowed gently to the woman and gave her a goofy, freckled smile.

"Wahh,your butler is soooo cute!" she said,smiling. "Okay,I'll be back soon to stalk- I mean, see Alex!" she hugged him tight and gave him one last lipstick kiss on his nose,as she left happily. Alex laid there,slightly unconscious from her tight grip,his face covered in pink lipstick. "Thanks for saving me,Matthew.." Alex slightly smiled.
