Despite falling asleep so peacefully, Daisuke woke up sweating. He looked over at the clock and sighed. He had only slept for an hour or so. Slipping out of bed, the red head stretched. He was thirsty, but he felt like staying in bed. Daisuke sighed again. He almost never had fitful sleeps! What was wrong with him? He trudged to his door and waited for a moment. Finally, he sighed, yet again. Daisuke could have sworn he heard the TV set on, but he thought it was his imagination.

He opened his door and walked out into the living room. To his surprise, he saw Abele sitting on the couch. He stopped, unaware of what he had done to the other man. Not knowing what to do, Daisuke stared like a deer in headlights.

An hour later when he heard the door to the other's room opening, he let out a rather long, annoyed sigh. Saying down on the couch, not really wanting the other to talk to him at the moment, he nuzzled his head against a pillow, a sharp huff coming form his lips. Rubbing one of his eyes, when he heard the footsteps coming closer, he nearly just got up and walked back to his room. He really wasn't in the mood for socializing at the moment.

Though, when he realized the the footsteps stopped, he sat up and glance around, staring at the other, his eyes holding... a sense of anger to them. "What do you want, brat?" His lip twitched the slightest bit. His voice nearly faltered once more... he was obviously fumed about something.

The man's words sent chills down Daisuke's spine. He felt very hot despite that chill.

"N-nothing… I just feel… unbearably hot…" he answered, struggling to stand.

His eyesight got blurry and he tried to grab onto something, but here was nothing there. The red head bit his bottom lip and balled his hands into fists. It hurt a lot, but he wouldn't let Abele know.

"I just need water… then I'll be better," he added as he struggled to the kitchen.

Sweat drizzled down his face and he winced in pain. He felt oddly miserable in that state.

Abele let out a rather low sigh as he continued to watch the TV show… it was some sort of stupid slap-stick comedy that honestly made Abele’s stomach churn with disgust. He didn’t really like the shows that they had on now days… he used to like the cartoons that he watched when he was a kid, or the old anime that he watched. He missed stuff like that.

Rolling over onto his side, Abele let out a rather dry cough, still having his fever. The room felt cold to him though, not hot, yet he was still sweating due to it. Rubbing his forehead with the back of his hand, the ginger sat up and went to the kitchen. He really needed some water.

When he saw the other struggling, her let out a sharp grunt, obviously a bit annoyed by this. “Do you need help , brat?” He was still going to offer him help… he didn’t like people getting hurt for no good reason, even though sometimes he wished that people would learn a lesson.

Daisuke looked at Abele earnestly. "I… I told you that I'd be-"

He stopped. Was he really going to be that foolish? Daisuke nodded, forgetting all of his stubbornness for the moment.

"P-please help me…" he croaked, shaking a little.

Daisuke didn't know what Abele would do. He wondered if the man knew what to do. Truthfully, Daisuke hated moments like that. He hated feeling like he had to depend on another. But he knew better. He knew that he couldn't just struggle into the kitchen, get water, then successfully get back to his bedroom. That seemed utterly impossible. The red head looked the other man in the eyes, but quickly shut them when he felt another uncomfortable pain in his chest. He felt another shiver and lost his footing, falling onto Abele, at the same time, losing consciousness.

Abele sighed as the other tried to put up a strong front at first. Really? Such a stubborn man. Though, when he caved in, he caught the boy and let out a rather annoyed huff before he lifted him into his arms. What was wrong with this teenager? He didn’t feel like he really had anything wrong with him, to be quite frank. Carrying the boy to his own bedroom, he laid him down on the futon. Unlike the room he gave the teen, his room had a futon, not a bed. Tucking him in, he let out a rather small noise as the other slept. He felt his forehead… it was a little bit warm, though it wasn’t all that bad to where he had a fever… maybe a cold at most. He was probably dehydrated. Getting up, he made his way to the kitchen to go get a glass of water.

Daisuke's eyes blinked open. He looked to his side and jumped a little, making his chest hurt. Once his eyes adjusted to the dark, he looked around the room. It seemed as if he were in Abele's room. He tried to sit up, but his shaking arm would not support him. He plopped back down unto the futon and closed his eyes. What was wrong with him? He had never felt like that before!

The red head felt as if the water had completely drained from him. That feeling was rather unpleasant and it wasn't appreciated, either. Daisuke reached for the covers and clenched it. He really wanted water!

"Wa…"

He spoke up, but only a few muffled croaks came out. Why had he lost his voice?!

Abele sighed quietly as he filled up a glass of water in the kitchen. Really, this kid needed to learn how to take care of himself better than this. Putting a few cubes of ice into the water, the ginger-haired man made his way back to the room, the glass in one of his hands, his other hand in his pocket.

Once he made it back into the room, he noticed the other was awake. That was just great… he really didn’t want to talk to the other at the moment, nor interact with him. Sitting down next to him, and offered him water.

“There, brat, drink up.” Glancing at the floor beneath him, he relished the cold air that was flowing from his air conditioner in his room.

Though, when he began to think… he thought he might as well make his offer.

“Oi, kid. I was thinking on letting you leave, since it seems you hate it here so much. Though… there is a condition, and that condition is to never interact with me again. I know that it isn’t really that big of a deal for you, so you’ll probably leave in the morning, yes?”

Hearing those words, Daisuke felt hurt. But hurt? Why? Why in the world was he feeling hurt?! Daisuke opened his mouth and tried to make a sound. When he didn't, he stroked his throat. That was when he saw the cold cup of water. Daisuke quickly took it and gulped down the water. He tried to speak, but again, nothing came out. The red head knew that he wanted to tell Abele that he didn't hate his stay. He wanted him to understand that he didn't hate him. And not interacting with Abele?! That felt like losing!

Daisuke refused to lose his chance to ultimately figure out Abele. The red head quickly shook his head.

Abele sighed softly as the other took the glass of water from his hand. When it was taken from his pale, long fingers, he felt a bit of absence... the cold was really enjoyable to him, to be honest. He watched as the other couldn't speak... it was rather amusing to him, actually. The fact that the other couldn't talk... that meant that he wouldn't hear his sass or his hurtful comments... it was relieving. As he watched the other shake his head, he lifted an eye-brow, a rather small huff drawn from his lips as he murmured, "I'll stay in here if you need me. It's not like I need your dead body in my house. I'd rather keep you alive for a bit." He said this in a rather mocking manner, like the way that the red-haired teen always said to him.

Daisuke wanted to say something back, but Abele's words… was that how Daisuke's sounded? He clenched the covers with his shaking hands. The red head felt horrible. He wasn't entirely sure whether his words at dinner were what made the ginger haired man so… hostile. Daisuke bit his bottom lip, yet again, and reached to touch Abele's cheek.

That man had soft skin. It wasn't too surprising, taking into account that Abele never did anything that would damage his skin. The red head moved his other hand to the man's hand and locked his fingers with him. He wanted to apologize and let out his feelings, whatever they were. Those feelings seemed to have been something that Daisuke couldn't understand. He figured that talking to Abele about them would solve a lot of puzzles.

Abele was obviously a bit angered at the moment… his cheeks were a dark pink in color, his blood obviously boiling beneath the skin. He was frustrated with the other. He kept allowing him to push buttons inside of his brain that drove him crazy… Teeth biting into his lower lips and his eyes avoiding the other’s, he was obviously fuming.

As the other reached out to touch he flesh, Abele flinched the slightest bit. The other seemed to have rough hands, not quite as soft as his skin… though they were oh-so welcoming… He couldn’t help but nuzzle against the warmth of it. Despite the fact that he acted angry often, he could be distracted from it rather easily. He was like a cat, when he was mad, if you pet him, he’s more focused on that instead of his own anger. Allowing the other to twine their fingers together, he closed his eyes in slight relief.

Daisuke watched Abele's feline-like patterns. He wanted to laugh, but his throat wasn't letting him. For some reason, Abele seemed to calm down and lower his guard. Daisuke didn't want to give up that idea of telling Abele his undetermined feelings. After all… Abele always seemed to have the right words for Daisuke.

The red head removed the hand that stroked Abele's cheek and pointed to a pen that sat conveniently a few feet away. He had decided to write out what he wanted to say.

Abele glanced at the other with a small huff. He looked slightly disappointed about the fact that the other removed his hand from his cheek. Stretching lightly, he took a blue colored pen off of the table and a piece of paper. Glancing around, he found a hard surface of which was smooth enough to write well on. Laying it out in front of the other to see what he would write.

He felt a bit conflicted when the other pulled his fingers away from his face. He felt his anger coming back slowly... though, he also realized that he didn't want to be mad at the other.

As soon as Daisuke got the materials, he began writing.

It read: Well… this abruptness is awkward… And I know that writing this letter is weird as well. But we're stuck right now. And it's embarrassing to say so, but your words are like good nuggets to me… I need them. A lot. I've decided that telling you about my odd feelings. They're weird feeling I've never felt before. Well… now I'll describe them. There's this certain person who I've grown rather fond of. I'm not sure if he thinks of it that way, though. When I'm around him, I get upset, but I really think he's interesting. I may seem like an annoying brat at first glance to him, but I earnestly want him to see me as a respectable and mature adult. Do you mind explaining those feelings to me?"

After finishing it and rereading it, he handed it to Abele. Daisuke knew that he hadn't fully expanded on his feelings, but he wanted to at least talk about it once his voice came back, and once he sorted his thoughts.

Abele waited quietly, watching the way the other scribbled down quickly onto the page. He was curious as to what the other was going to write to him. Sighing quietly, he rubbed one of his eyes.

When the other gave him the paper, the ginger read it. He was rather surprised by the neatness of the other’s writing despite how fast he was writing. Letting out a rather small huff as he tried to pin the word that the other wanted, he prodded his own lip with on of his thumbs before saying, “Admiration, what you’re feeling is admiration.” He felt like that was the perfect word for the situation.

“You want to impress them, have their approval and want to make them smile, yes? Well, I’m not sure as to how to help you with your situation. The way to impress that person really all depends on the person, honestly.”

Admiration? Daisuke blushed. H-he didn't admire Abele, did he…? Admiration? That seemed odd! Why would he admire him?Daisuke fidgeted for a while. His face was still red, so he looked at the ground. He tried to stand up, but he ended up falling back down. The red head gave up and reached out to Abele, looking for comfort in the man.

(Sorry it's so short!)

Watching the other struggle on his futon, Abele sighed softly, a rather bored look on his face. What was the other doing? Didn't he know the fact that he couldn't move? He seemed to sick to. Though as the other reached out at him, the ginger cocked his head and reached to the other's hand as he reached out for the other's touch. "Oi...what do you want, brat?"

Daisuke frowned at Abele's question. Well he couldn't reply, could he? The red head inched closer to Abele and leaned against that man's chest. He could hear his own heart, and he hoped that Abele couldn't hear it. Daisuke clenched Abele's shirt and whimpered a little. He really wanted to talk to Abele. He wanted to, so much.

Abele sighed softly as the other grasped at his shirt. Carefully, he brought himself closer to the other. He didn't really know what the other person wanted from him. Inhaling heavily, he put a hand on the teen's hip, pulling him closer, rubbing small circles on the area. Carefully, he placed his hand on the other's forehead... he didn't feel like he was sick, so he really didn't know what was wrong and why this was happening to the other person.

After being pulled closer by the hip, Daisuke was a tad surprised. He reached to Abele and slid his arms around his waist. In result of this, Daisuke found his face against the man's stomach. It might have been a tad awkward, but he knew that it felt oddly comfortable. Well, at least to himself. He didn't know how Abele felt. The red head didn't feel as sick as before, but his voice was still gone. He wondered what had happened to make his voice so different.

Abele gasped softly when the other male wrapped his arms around his waist and brought him closer. He was okay with this... even though he wasn't going to say it directly how much he actually enjoyed this. Letting out a rather small sigh, he continued to rub the other's hip with the pad of his thumb, trying to offer the young male at least a little bit of comfort...

Daisuke felt a little hot. He didn't know if it was a fever or being so close to Abele, but whatever it was, he ignored it. The red head could feel the sweat forming on his brow. He didn't feel like wiping it away. After all, he was in such an awkward yet comfy position. Hugging Abele felt like he was hugging a cat for some unknown reason. With Abele's hand on his hip, he pulled himself onto Abele's lap and laid his head against his chest.

"Being so close to you feels so… so comfortable," the red head whispered into Abele's ear.

As he felt the other’s body continue to heat up, he let out a rather harsh sigh. If the brat sweat on his hands, he was going to have some problems with this… Letting out another huff, he watched with a surprised look as the other crawled up into his lap. Blinking a few times, a rather small color came to his cheeks as the other told him how good it felt to sit in his lap and hug him. His lip twitching the slightest bit, his cold metal piercing hit his chin when he moved his lips a bit to become more comfortable. “I’m glad that you find my comfortable, I suppose.”

When Daisuke heard Abele's response, he nuzzled a little closer and steadied his breathing. He had never been coddled before. His father had never done it. Plus, he never knew his mother, so… Daisuke felt grateful. He didn't know exactly why, but he did. Maybe he was thankful that Abele let him hug him. After a while, Daisuke felt himself dozing off to sleep.
