greenbunny2468
Rain poured down harshly from the sky, the raging winds and heavy downfall doing little to put out the fire spreading throughout the city – the turbulent storm seeming to only soak those who stood under its descent to the blazing earth below. Soot and burning embers from the fire mingled with the rain and fell upon the fallen city of Aginthini covering the citizens with thin layers of grim that the rain washed away carelessly, doing at least that much to help the mayhem ridden city. A lone figure standing atop the roof of a building more similar to the structure of a palace then the simple private residence that it was watched the burning city from above, the harsh rain soaking his person since the black clad male had opted out of bringing an umbrella or any other type of converge with him to his perch on the roof – choosing instead just to watch as the lower-class rammed object after object against the iron gate that lead into the upper part of Ahinthini in hopes to bring the sturdy wall down. Ren might’ve laughed if it was like the other feeble attempts that had conspired over the years – but there was someone different about this riot from the times like the trojan horse incident in 10, 000 years ago when the lower class had delivered a huge cake to the iron gate on the princesses birthday in hopes that their troops hiding inside the hollow timber cake would be allowed into palace to plunder and kill. Then there was the tunneling incident a century ago with all the upper class citizens who had been attached throughout the city from the intricate tunnels the working-class had dug throughout the nation of Ahinthini – sadly all it had took to foil the tunnels was an order from the king to flood each opening into the structure the royal guards could find. The death rate from that act of revolting had been the highest yet since so many creatures from the lower-class had still been inside them waiting to perform the next wave of attaches. In fact, it seemed the fact that there was no trickery behind this attach like there had been behind all the others proved to Ren just how serious they were in this act of revolting. There was a certain anger and directness in this new incident that had Ren considering going to visit Lucis soon, and seeing if his childhood friend thought escaping before the wall separating them and those who wanted the upper-class citizens dead came down was as good an idea as Ren thought it was. Kotorichan
Lucis was already on his way to Ren's home, things in the city weren't going well. The horrible storm mixed with the conviction of the uprising was getting to people. Some of the upper class citizens had already started blaming each other for this, a few fights were breaking out in the streets. The other citizens had noticed the difference this time. The uprising seemed more grim, almost hopeless, as if the lower class citizens had literally nothing left to loose. It scared the upper class, they had shot down a couple of the people at the gate but there were always more. Their eyes seemed cold and lifeless, bringing some of the upper class citizens to call it the work of the devil, as if that somehow made it better. The mood of the whole town frightened Lucis, he knew how people could act when they were afraid, especially large groups. The young man tried to tighten his jacket around his body to fight off the cold rain, but it seemed useless in this weather. He felt like he had to find Ren, he didn't know what could happen to his friend when everyone they knew was starting to act strangely. He quickly climbed the stairs to the rooftop where he knew he would find Ren, and threw the door open to once again expose himself to the elements.. Lucis felt himself relax slightly as he saw the familiar figure through the rain. He was safe, they were both safe... At least for now... "Ren!" he called out, hoping that his naturally quiet voice could be heard through the wind. He slowly edged on to the roof, not very confident in his own balance on the slippery tiles. StainedCrimson
Red eyes watch the angry masses swelling and ramming into the gates. "That won't work. I told them they couldn't just barge in through the front gates and win. Though as a scare tactic it'll be extremely effective. A scared and panicked enemy is more easily dealt with then a calm one after all." Turning the shadowed figure disappears into the recesses of the building. While drier than being outside, it is by no means free of cold liquid or a full proof shelter from the wind. The rain pouring and swirling through holes in the ceiling and broken windows. Quickly and silently, the figure moves through and down easily dodging most of the rain despite its attempts to soak him through. "This has only just begun. Soon, we will ensure chaos erupts and swallows those self-righteous and arrogant nobles. Then we shall work on leveling the field and starting a new. Well, as best we can amongst the wreckage and turmoil of the aftermath. Hopefully the ex-nobles will be far more distraught and weakened by dead and dying than the survivors from the seemingly lower class." Laughing dryly and without real humor, he finally vanishes into the darkness underneath the building he'd been watching from.
greenbunny2468
Ren had scented the other before Lucis even called out to him – a gift and a curse to being part panther, no one was able to sneak up on him, but he had a rather sensitive nose. His nose the sole reason the teen always wore a mask of some kind on his face – not everyone took the showering everyday rule as literally as Ren wished, he had learned wearing a mask was better than chancing it early on. The only reason he wasn’t wearing one now because he hadn’t thought anyone would’ve found him on the roof – he should’ve known Lucis would know him better than everyone else, they had been friends forever. Letting out a sigh, Ren watched his breath turn white as it hit the chilly air, his nose twitching as he turned towards the other occupant of his roof; “Lu, have you ever thought of this place as a cage?”
