Key-Tokki
The mountain of Higura is said to be the home of many, many spirits and the mountain god known has Kayushi. A boy from the city visits the mountain with the rest of his mythology class, however gets separated from his friends when a storm hits and ends up lost in the woods. Where he meets a young boy with a mask on his face, that claims to be a spirit and if he touches a human he will disappear. The 'spirit' agrees to lead the other boy back to his friends if the city boy promises to come and visit him every day for the next month and the two begin to get closer, to close for a spirit and a human that can never touch. Key-Tokki
Gin sat back against the tree and allowed his legs to hang down over the branch he was currently sitting on, reaching up slowly he titled the mask back from his face and let out a slow breath after inhaling the fresh air, which tasted moist on his lips. Glancing up towards the sky he saw huge, rolling clouds above him, slowly moving this way. His attention did not move from the clouds as a large fox trotted over and sat on the ground below where Gin sat, it turned it's nose up to him and spoke. "Looks like a storm is coming, you know some of the other spirits say they saw a school bus coming up the hill, heading towards the shrine, a few of us were going to go check out the humans, please, for your own saftey Gin, stay away from the humans this time, okay? "The fox's soft voice and the face that it could even speak was how one would know that is was just one of the spirits of the forest, not an actual animal. Letting out a soft groan, Gin brought his grey down so he could nod towards the other spirit, pulling the mask back down on his face, he watched the fox scamper off into the direction were the bus of humans must have been. Remalade
No, that's a good length! Reito glanced through the bus window, his eyes drifting up towards the clouds in the sky. Was it going to rain? What was the point in scheduling a trip to the local shrine when there was going to be a storm soon? He rolled his eyes at their teacher's poor planning as they finally halted to a stop. The noisy students climbed off of the bus and crowded around a young man who introduced himself as one of the caretakers of the shrine. Reito was barely listening. His attention was instead focused on the forest around them. The trees and foliage looked so beautiful, but he doubted that they would get the chance to see them up close. Maybe he would get the chance to slip away... As his friends chatted idly and made their way up the stairs of the shrine, Reito was able to take a few casual steps toward the forest. Key-Tokki
Gin knew what he was doing was wrong, he had long since climbed down the tree he was sitting against and made his way to where the shrine was. The shrine was for the mountain god, whom he had come to both love and hate for personal reasons. He stood, hiding in the shadow of a tree, watching the humans. His attention was drawn by one in particular, who seemed to have strayed from the rest. While the others had made there was up the steps and were giving there offerings to the mountain god, the stray was staring intently into the forest, there was almost a longing in his face. If humans wondered into the forest they became lost, supposedly never to be seen again. A curse was put on the forest to protect the spirits from humans by the mountain god. Gin took a step from where he was, getting ready to warn the human but before he could, lightening flashed across the sky and thunder louder than Gin had ever heard before sounded across the sky. Rain pelted the ground all around, making the visibility almost zero, and he knew that even though the human had only wondered in a few feet, the human was now a victim of the forest and he would surely be lost.
