Minato grinned in victory and nodded, going back to solving the problems. He worked through the next ones without much difficulty, but one of the harder ones started to confuse him. He had too much pride to ask for help, but he was honestly struggling. Finally, he remembered the proper equation to solve it, and he was somehow able to come up with the right answer at the end. The athlete's attention span had dwindled by that time, and he glanced over at Asuki instead.

Asuki was watching him solve the problems and he hadn't even asked for help. Was he at risk of actually..losing to the other. It's just a game...no big deal right? He looked up to notice Minato was looking at him. "You got all of the problems right..practice these at home..' Asuki said quietly, listing off the numbers he had to do. "These would be the hardest ones on the test..If you can manage these, you will do fine" He said with a small nod.

Minato quickly wrote down all of the assigned numbers and glanced over at the hardest ones. They would be sure to give him some trouble, but maybe if he practiced those tonight as well he would be able to get it. He nodded to his words and placed the paper in the back of his book for later, glancing at his watch. They had been working for an hour, but it seemed shorter for some reason. "Alright, looks like we finished earlier today. Ready to head home?" he asked.

"How about going to the cafe again? Food is on me this time, count it as doubting you studying at home payback" Asuki shrugged, frankly not wanting to go home just yet. "I am hungry anyway" He said as he cleaned up, not knowing why things felt much different than usual. He couldn't place it as all of his things were cleaned up.

"Trying to take me out on a date, Asuki? And to think, I was sure that you hated me." Minato teased. He gathered the supplies from the athletic office and hurried to take them back, then returned and finished packing up his books. He hooked his backpack over his shoulder as he waited for the other boy. He couldn't deny that the atmosphere between them had definitely changed since yesterday, but he couldn't figure out why.

"Oh please, like I would want to take you out on a date' Asuki teased right back, feeling a bit better with some form of insult. But the atmosphere definitely was different..no mistaking it. "Just try and not stuff your face ok?" Asuki teased Minato some more as they started to walk toward the same cafe they went to the day before.

"For your information, I am the most desired bachelor in the school, so you should consider yourself lucky to be able to take me on a date. Do you know how many people would love to be in your shoes right now? And you know, I was only going to get a burger, but now maybe I'll have some cheese fries and a shake too. Maybe I'll even order dessert." Minato joked. His coach would kill him if he really at that much junk food a mere few days before their big game, and he didn't want to risk it. Just a burger would be fine, but he couldn't help liking to tease and joke with him instead of fighting.

'I'd be a good enough date and get whatever my dates heart desired, within reason-You will drive me broke before I get the chance to go on a date" Asuki teased right back, liking the teasing even more. It was like insulting..but this teasing felt more light hearted. In what felt like no time, they were already here. He ordered himself a cheesburger and treated himself to some chili fries and a vanilla milkshake.

"Yeah, but you'd still have the best night of your life, just because you're with me." Minato laughed. He simply ordered himself a burger, already planning to steal a bit of Asuki's fries. When the order was finished, he grabbed the food-laden tray and carried it over to their same table from yesterday. "Don't tell my coach I've been eating so much fast food this week, he'd kill me." he muttered.

"You would be trying so hard because you would want to please me that bad" Asuki laughed back as he was glad their food arrived. It was hard to believe they could act so kindly to each other, even for a moment. "I don't have any reason to yet..You would just be all over it for me later.." Asuki joked as he took a bite of his burger and dipped a fry into his milkshake.

"I wouldn't try too hard, then you'd probably start falling for me." Minato countered, looking over at him with a teasing grin. For some reason, this kind of joking felt much better than their usual fighting. It almost seemed as if they were actually friends. He laughed at his last comment as he took a bite of his burger and sneakily snatched one of Asuki's fries.

"You'd be falling for me first, your feelings are so strong that you want me to be able to love you the same" Asuki smiled, adding "One too many movies watched on that last part" jokingly about himself. "And get your own~! Just ask for one" He laughed, tossing one at him before going back to eating. It really did seem like they were friends..and this kind of teasing..he can still be his normal self and enjoy this..right?

Using his athletic reflexes, Minato caught the French fry and popped it into his mouth. "Thanks. And yeah, maybe you should lay off the sappy romance movies." he chuckled. The blonde glanced at him, thinking of his eye again for the first time since he had helped patch it up. This time he would definitely make sure that Asuki got home safely. "Does your eye feel better with the disinfectant I put on it? Or does it still hurt?" he asked.

"Oh..my eye? Um..yeah, it feels a lot better. Thanks.." Asuki said with a small smile. "Thanks for asking.." He said quieter when the teen realized Minato was asking like he cared about his well being. He tried to think of something to say to alieve this awkwardness, saying "Nice catch", referring to the french fry.

Minato noticed the awkwardness and simply nodded, going back to his burger and trying to think of something to change the subject. He was glad when Asuki did instead. "Well, I am captain of the basketball team and of the tennis team." he grinned, pushing his hair back with a wink.

"Why dont you brag more about how your muscles have led you to be captain of two teams?" Asuki rolled his eyes with a small smirk. He soon went back to his burger, feeling happier by the minute. Asuki hoped he wouldnt have to go home anytime soon.

"Of course! Well, I started playing basketball during gym class during my first year and the gym teacher suggested that I try out. I was actually pretty bad when I first started. I could catch and shoot, but I was so clumsy that I would trip before I could even make a shot. We trained for weeks, and I finally got over my clumsiness. It was around that time that I started playing tennis too. And the rest is history. But you'll be able to read about it in a newspaper one day." Minato grinned, flexing a muscle for added emphasis. "What about you? Were you just born a genius or something?"

Nice muscles..Asukis distracted mind thought for a moment before he got back on track with the others question. "And to answer that, sort of. I started reading at a young age, always spending as much time as I could at the library. I loved school and tried to join any scholastic activities I could to stay longer" He smiled.

"How do you love school? It's just so....boring. Or maybe it's boring to me because I really am dumb." Minato shrugged. He honestly wasn't the best student. He was barely scraping by in all of his classes, only doing enough to keep his grades high enough to be able to play sports. Learning something out of a textbook didn't interest him at all, he would much rather learn from hands-on experience, which wasn't always possible.

"It...It's hard to explain" Asuki shrugged, not really wanting to explain another reason he got into academics was to get out the house. The more he learned and was able to focus on his academics...the more the hurt went away. "I guess I just liked the academic environment" Asuki smiled.

Minato gave him a nod of understanding and finished his burger instead, but he couldn't help smiling back at him just a bit. "Tomorrow's my last day to study before the test. Are we going to go back to hating each other afterwards?" he asked with a smirk.

"It wouldn't feel right if we didn't...and we wouldn't be spending much time together if you didn't get the 100. I wouldn't be going to any games otherwise" Asuki smirked to himself as he finished his drink with one last big sip. He was getting good at his work..he might..actually have a chance. He wouldnt hear the end of this if Minato passed..

"I hate to say this, but you're right. There's just something about calling you a nerd everyday that makes me so happy." Minato laughed lightly. "And you'd better start looking for a good seat in the bleachers because I have a lot of games this season and you won't be missing a single one." he grinned.

"Yeah right, thats the day you get 100. You will mess up somewhere and maybe get like a 99, somthing like that" Asuki said with a smirk. "May you have the best of luck" He said with a fake courtesy bow from his chair.

"Don't underestimate me, Asuki. I'm full of surprises." Minato grinned. He gathered up their trash and threw it away, then returned to the table. "Ready to go now?" he asked. The blonde didn't really want to go home to an empty house, but he figured that Asuki probably wanted to get home before it got too dark.
