Kyandi wondered just how good he was with how he was bragging. He quietly stepped closer to the kitchen and Minato, trying to get a peek. Everything smelled so..good. He was actually looking forward to seeing the result of the work. He tried not to drool at the smell. Kyandiw mind wandered a moment in thought.

Minato hummed to himself as he stirred the soup to go along with the vegatables and rice he had prepared. It was a simple meal, but still smelled delicious. He arranged the food into two bowls, then carried it back out to the table, nearly bumping into a dazed Asuki in the process. "Smells good, right?" he teased with a laugh. He led his classmate to the large table in the dining room, which was rarely ever used.

"Hmm? Oh sorry, was in thought" Kyandi said as he followed him to the large dining room table. It did smell good and even something so simple looked so delicious. He sat down and looked into the bowl in front of him. Asuki slowly took his first bite, a bit wide eyed at first. "Well..its..its good" He said, trying to think of anything else to say but it was too good.

Minato grinned devilishly at the compliment. "Thanks, nerd. At least I know that on the very slim chance I don't become a professional athlete, I have culinary skills to fall back on." he chuckled. Minato said nothing more as he began to eat. He didn't know why, but the moment felt strangely comfortable between them, almost as if this kind of setting was where they belonged. The athlete pushed the ridiculous idea out of his head before he could start thinking about what it really meant.

Kyandi ate the food, more than happy to eat the meal. Well at least Minato had something to go for him besides everything else. He hated and didn't want to admit tha the liked this sort of setting. A nice peaceful day of eating food. Okay, he had to think of some thing to distract himself. "So..good luck tomorrow and stuff.." He said quietly.

Minato was taken aback by his quiet sincerity, but found himself somewhat pleased by it. "I don't need luck." he laughed, winking at him. "But just to be safe, maybe I'll go to bed just a little bit earlier tonight. Not like I have anything else to do anyways." he shrugged.

"You better..Last thing either of us need is you to fail just because you're tired" Kyandi said with a small smile. "Now like you would probably say..kick ass on the test" Kyandi said with a small smirk. "So..Am I staying longer or am I going home or..I don't even know right now" Kyandi laughed more to himself.

(Did you change your character's name? I'm confused)

 

"Oh, are you ready to go? Maybe I should walk with you all the way this time so those punks won't get to you again...." he muttered, trying not to think about how protective he had just sounded. The athlete cleared the table, then returned and looked at the other boy expectantly.

It wasn't punks..Nut that was none of Minaos business..Asuki thought as he still did feel kind of protected. Maybe not much but he found it kind of touching that he would care so much about him and his safety. "If you want I guess.." He said quietly, looking at his feet

"Alright, let's get going then. I wouldn't want your parents to get worried." Minato shrugged. He went to fetch his jacket before leading his classmate back to the front door and closing it behind them. He figured that Asuki's parents would start to worry if he returned home too late, whereas his own parents didn't even know what he was doing, and most likely didn't even care. The thought brought a slight frown to his lips as he walked quietly alongside his classmate.

His parents..worry? That would be something..Asuki thought quietly to himself. He got himself ready to walk back home, walking beside Minato. Asuki noticed Minato was unusually quiet and Asuki looked up toward him. "Are you okay?" He asked the other with a quiet voice.

Minato blinked out of his thoughts when he heard the other's quiet voice. "Yeah, I'm fine." He assured. "How nice of you to ask about me, Asuki. Wow, you really are falling for me..." he teased, poking him in the arm. A particularly chilly breeze blew past them and the athlete shivered slightly. "Are you cold?" he muttered. His jacket was quite big, and he felt the urge to give it to his classmate instead.

"I'm nt falling for you.." Asuki rolled his eyes, shivering a bit upon feeling a small chill in the wind. He didn't bring a coat with him that day, it being the last thing on his mind."I guess.." He shrugged, trying to make it seem like he wasn't as cold as he actually was. Asuki was trying to be tough about it

"Just take my jacket, you nerd." Minato chuckled. He was wearing a long sleeved shirt and Asuki wasn't even wearing a jacket at all, so he was fine with letting him wear it. He casually shoved his hands into his pockets after putting the large jacket over Asuki's shoulders, which smelled faintly of his own cologne.

"whatever you jock" Asuki smirked, the warm jacket going over his own body. It smeled like Minato always done..like cologne. He sniffed in the air a bit and it really did..smell kind of nice. Minato bejng nice to him..was also an odd but pleasant surprise. "So.." He said in a poor attempt to start conversation with the rival.

"So....what?" Minato muttered, chuckling at the other's obvious awkwardness as he held back a yawn. "I know I joked about it earlier, but I think I really will go to bed earlier. I'm exhausted after so much studying. How do you do this every day?" he frowned.

"I don't do much else.." Asuki shrugged lightly as he pulled the jacket tighter on him. "I want to get good grades..get a good job..live in a nice house..live the good life I guess" He said quietly with a small longing smile. It didn't feel like long before they were almost to his house already. Did he have to go home already? It was such a good day..

Minato was taken aback by his words. They sounded so...genuine. "Well that's not so bad." he shrugged, but he couldn't help thinking that Asuki's goals were nice things to have. As they kept walking, the athlete started to recognize their surroundings. They must be getting close to the other's home. For some reason, he felt like he didn't want to separate so soon. He couldn't figure out why. "So, I'll come and find you after I take the test tomorrow." he muttered.

"Yeah.." Asuki said, wanting to be able to say more like he wanted to see how bad he failed or something but for some reason could not. They were soon at the front of his house, Asuki took off the others jacket. "Your jacket.." Asuki said, carefully going to hand it back to him. "Thanks.." He said quietly, looking up at him. "Good luck tomorrow..okay?" He said with a small encouraging smile

"Just keep it." Minato replied, gently pushing the jacket back into his hands. "It might be cold again tomorrow. You can just give it back whenever, I don't mind." he shrugged. He couldn't help the smile that pulled at his lips at receiving the kind sentiment from Asuki. "Didn't I tell you that I don't need luck?" he grinned with a wink. "But thanks. See you tomorrow." he waved before turning and starting back home. The smile that Asuki had shown put a warm feeling in his chest that he'd never felt before.

Asuki was surprised and knew he would give it back at the first chance he got. He held it close and waved goodbye, feeing this warm feeling inside. He hoped the other would do well and he was thinking this genuinely. Asuki was quick to slip inside before he was noticed by the rest of his family and went right to his room. Asuki closed the door behind him and held the jacket to his face. It felt so warm..He thought as he got ready for bed, the jacket next to the bed.

Minato was surprised to find his house occupied when he returned home. His parents were talking in hushed tones in the kitchen, and he held back a sigh before slipping off his shoes and going to greet them.

 

"You're getting home pretty late, Minato. Were you staying at school for basketball practice?" his father asked.

 

"No, I was studying actually." he muttered.

 

"Studying? I hope you're not letting your schoolwork get in the way of playing sports." his mother frowned.

 

Minato tried not to roll his eyes at how stupid that sounded. What kind of parents didn't care about their child's grades? After a few more words with them, he said that he was tired and excused himself to go to his room. With his mood dampened, Minato took a quick shower and changed, then flopped onto his bed with a sigh, quickly falling asleep. The next morning, he woke up a bit earlier to review some things for the test before starting to get ready for school.

Asuki woke up early as he usually did on test day to do a brief morning overview of the test material. After this, he tried to pool all his change together for breakfast at the school cafeteria or On his way to school. He got his bag packed and Asuki made his way out the door, wearing the others jacket to keep warm. Asuki especially needed it today because of the weather that has been going on today. He stopped to get one egg in a bagel, able to just afford this much from a local cafe before going to school.

Despite waking up earlier, Minato still found himself running a bit late. By the time he got to the school gate, the first bell had already rang and the students were going inside. He could see a familiar figure walking a few feet ahead of him, and for some season, a smile pulled at his lips when he noticed that Asuki was still wearing his jacket. It was too big for him obviously, but the difference in size almost made him look....cute? The athlete quickly pushed the thought from his mind and tried to focus on the test he would be soon taking as he made his way to class.

Asuki entered his class, ready to take his test. He kept on thinking about the other as he took off the others jacket and hung it over his chair. Minato wouldn't get out of his head and despite the bet, he hoped Minatio did well on his test. He crossed his fingers as he readied himself, hoping he would get some good news after class.
