SqueezeBabe
I'll make this short (maybe) and to the point (possibly). I have some group RP's that need an injection of new blood. Some of my players can't play anymore because life get's a bit busy sometimes. They haven't been dropped, I'm just looking at keeping my group RP's alive for a little bit longer. Here is what I am proposing - A "Cameo" appearance of sorts. Your writing will still need to be up to standard and you will still need to follow my RP Rules, however, depending on how you feel, will only be required to write until things get sorted (or you get absorbed into the RP, in which case you stay anyway). I have three possible positions open: DragonRiders RP Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. Pirates RP Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. Cowboys and Indians - You HAVE to be an Indian (and being a uke is preferred but not 100% necessary) Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. My Rules Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. You will still need to audition - you can do that here, or in the Recruitment thread. If you have any questions, please ask - If you don't quite fit the rules, but still have a burning desire to participate, depending on the quality of your writing, I may be able to bend the rules. Ok, I lied, there might be Four RP's Knights RP - You have to be a baddie, and a Seme. Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. But there you go people, so if you're interested, you can contact me here, or inbox me, whatever you prefer.
sVerrine
I am slightly interested in the rp with dragon riders, but I have a few questions. Do I have to read the whole thread to become familiar with the plot or will you be a sweetheart and make a synopsis of it? ^^ Also, I've never RPed with you, so I'm not quite familiar with your rules. What does 'audition' mean? You select us by our character's sheet or do we have to write something supplementary?
SqueezeBabe
Hi @ sVerrine I don't do character sheets - they're formulaic and are not a good indication of your writing ability, so instead, you audition; that is writing me something, like you would if you were in the RP, that way I, and the other participants, can get a feel for your writing, and that way if we don't like it, or it doesn't fit, we don't have to boot you from the RP with hurt feelings and the like (there is no "nice" way of telling someone you don't want to RP with them once you've already started). Dragon riders hasn't really advanced enough that you need to be told the plot - so you should still probably read the thread to get a feel for the nuances and figure out if you actually like OUR writing (this does work both ways). So if you want to - put up your audition in the recruitment thread applicable, or inbox it to me and we'll go from there.
sVerrine
Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. Ok, seems pretty logical what you are saying, I'll post something as soons as i can. And regarding the plot length... sorry it was my fault, I was looking at the recruitment thread that has 19 pages and I thought I had to read the whole thing :-) . Now I saw that the Rp thread has only 2 pages. I'll read it before posting my audition.
SqueezeBabe
All good... I just want to make sure everyone is clear with what I'm proposing as a lot of people have mentioned that the post length is a bit daunting. I don't _expect_ you to write a lot, what I DO expect is that what you write provides enough details and allows those who follow you to pick aspects of your post to build upon. If you can do this in two paragraphs then kudos to you, but don't write two paragraphs of crap; you WILL be told that it's not satisfactory. If you feel that you can't write a lot, but what you write is of good quality, then we're not going to care. Ignore our post lengths, we like to wax lyrical as we're all accomplished story tellers in our own right, instead, look on this as an opportunity to better your own skills and maybe try something different with those of us who are definitely going to support your genuine efforts. Milieu
I'd be interested in joining the pirate one! Is there a particular role you're looking to have filled in that one?
SqueezeBabe
I'd be interested in joining the pirate one! Is there a particular role you're looking to have filled in that one? Err, good question. Our shipwright is currently missing in action (busy) but they're not being dropped so I don't think it's fair to replace them... If you read the recruitment thread, lots of positions were "offered" in sticking with the theme, but if you wanted to be something in particular, let me know and we will work something out. Having said that, there is no reason why we can't have more than one person in certain positions...
Milieu
Hrm. I didn't really have a particular position in mind, so maybe a freelancer kind of guy would fit best. Should he already be part of the crew?

How you work that out and how you approach the captain/crew will be up to you.
Milieu
Alright. I should have my audition up in a day or two.
Milieu
Here's my audition! It got a bit long, most of my posts will probably not get to quite that point. The interior of the bar was stiflingly hot, but most of its patrons were either too drunk to care or well on their way to getting drunk in order to distract themselves from it. Dominic was about halfway there, sweeping his sweaty hair off the back of his neck while he waited for the alcohol to really start taking effect, when the boy bumped his arm. He grunted as some of his beer sloshed out of the glass and onto the table and turned to glare and maybe smack the lad around a bit, but the boy cut him off. “Are you Master Valdez? Dom Valdez?” Dominic snorted; anyone who had to ask clearly wasn’t someone he was familiar with. He was a hard man to miss, with straight, dark hair that fell past his shoulders and the abstract tattoos winding about each of his arms. Too pale to be a native but clearly not a white European, he was considered “exotic” by some, and a mongrel by the rest who cared. “Who wants to know?” The boy leaned a little closer to make himself better heard over the din of the crowd without having to shout. “I work in Master Lázaro’s house. I have a message from his daughter Adriana for you.” Now that got Dominic’s attention. Adriana rarely called on him unless she wanted him to bring her something, and she’d never sent for him at this hour before. Something was amiss. “And what does Miss Lázaro want with me?” The boy swallowed, clearly uncertain of the reaction his next piece of news would get. “She says you’d better clear out of port right now tonight, sir.” The alcohol fog that had been slightly lifted was all but chased away as the boy’s words settled in. “Why is that?” “S-she says… she says her brother and his friends are going on a… a hunting party. To round up those they suspect as criminals and escaped slaves.” The boy’s eyes drifted over Dominic once again, clearly trying to figure out which of those he must be to merit such a warning. “She says your name is on their list.” “I see.” Dominic stood and fished a few coins from his pocket, dropping them on the table next to his half-empty glass. After a moment’s pause, he pulled out another and tossed it to the boy. “I’ll be on my way then. Tell my sister I said thank you.” He pushed past the table and made his way to the door, not looking back to see how the boy reacted to his words. The air outside the bar was blessedly cool, helping to further clear Dominic’s head as he wound his way through the back streets, heading for the docks. Time to leave for another few months, only to return again when tempers and old wounds had cooled. He was fairly certain he would have been able to evade his half-brother’s “hunting party”, if only because they wouldn’t want too much attention drawn to Master Lázaro’s bastard half-breed son, but there was no point in playing with fire. Dominic Valdez was a free man, and he was going to stay that way.

|WW|
My Audition for some Pervy Pirate Action. I'm trying out for Sawbones. :] Christophe walked the tideline, heedless of the salt waves that washed around his boots as they licked the the sandy beach clean of his tracks. He kept his eyes on the straggling line of seaweed, shells and snags of driftwood that marked the waters highest reach. The tide was just turning now, the waves falling ever shorter in their pleading grasp upon the land. As the salt water retreated down the cream tinged sand, it would bare the worn molars of shale and tangles of kelp that now hid beneath the foaming waves. Turning his attention inland he made out the furthest left side of the strange hill bound town, wooden homes poking precariously out of the earth in defiance of gravity. The hazards of visiting this town and free port were somewhat legendary. It was not just the hostility of the 'best' anchorage at port, nor the odd accidents known to befall ships and visitors. The whole feel of the place shifted as easy as the wind blowed. He'd felt it tugging at him as he reached a wooden path seldom used, it's makeshift steps leading up towards one of the lowest side streets of town; planked by overgrown weeds and what grass hadn't been strangled in the growth. He'd had months to scour town after town, reminded all too well of the struggles of his profession with each day that passed. Life had been comfortable for him up until about 6 months ago. His job had paid exuberant advances and provided damn near every comfort. A man with hands that could save lives was invaluable. A man who could cleverly take lives as well as save them? Even more impressive. But it didn't matter when all hope rested on lineage. When it came to family, he was but one man who'd crawled out from under the trash he'd been raised in. Managing to make something of himself through the charity of a lonely widow. There was nothing more to say on the subject. That wasn't exactly something you could write on your references, now was it? He followed the less-trekked path, occasionally casting eyes of vivid green against the clean brisk blue above, clean of clouds and a perfect stage for seagulls and other water-drawn birds. "And here we are once more," he spoke quietly to his slower company, stepping past the first row of small structures onto a gravel and dirt mixed road. "Dépèche toi, Mon petite," the husky french laced baritone echoed between the buildings softly, being carried away with the wind. A black shadow scurried up the remaining steps, following silently at the heels of it's Master with a playful flick of it's long sleek tail. The black feline padded attentively next to his left boot, keeping pace as they weaved through the smaller streets towards the center of town. He did not hasten, but kept in mind this trip had it's purpose. His current welfare depended on this damned place. It could be worse, he supposed. Locating the Lady's Anchor was easy enough. You couldn't possibly take any road in this town without eventually ending up dead center. And that is where she rested. Boasting to more refines guests; or rather those who had plenty of coin. Staying here meant a mans pouch was sure to be lighter when he left. Dodging a few men who exited, he weaved his way inside when the entry was clear. Wandering casually up to a small empty table which faced the door, leather moaned as he sunk himself into the chair, reaching back to pull the long dirty-blonde pony-tail over his shoulder. The cat who'd been at his heels climbed up his lap, jumping onto his shoulder where it perched an stared outwards with one good eye. The other was sealed shut and useless. "Chris! It's Chris, well devil be," an amused female sung out, heaving her tightly corseted bosom and wide berth hips right over to his table. He grinned up at the woman, dipping his head the slightest in greeting. "Pearl," he answered, taking her hand to brush an air kiss right over her knuckles. She flushed happily and swung the rag she was holding, hitting the top of his leather-bound thigh.
