Shasta settled a bit into his seat, pleased pleased the other was being agreeable about things. He smiled slightly as the other reminded him he was not infallible. People had limits, he understood this just fine. But he just nodded to show the other he understood. He didn't know what he'd ever need the favor anyway.

He waited patiently for the other man to change. He spared the open door a glance, before letting his gaze drift around the room instead. His mind drifted with it, considering dark and dangerous night clubs, and lost little girls. His phone vibrated, and he flipped it open to check the message. He slipped the flip phone back into his pocket. It was a list of names, but nothing immediately helpful. When Jasper reappeared with far more skin exposed, he stood up. His eyes flicked across the expanse of scarred flesh, but he tried not to let it linger. How many more scars were there? The other might not have been joking when he'd said he'd be mostly naked to show them all.

Giving the other a quick up and down, he smiled, “That will do.”

He gestured for the other to lead the way out, mostly because he didn't know if the slayers house had any defenses for that too, and he didn't want to risk it. “How far are we from the city? I was only conscious for about the last ten minutes.” He expected Jasper would be driving them to the club.

Jasper nodded to the guy, almost.... almost appreciative that the guy looked but didn't linger on his scars. Good, so maybe the vampire wasn't a complete arsehole. A night full of biting jokes, or blood jokes would have been too much, and eventually Jasper was sure he would have put a dagger through the guys heart. Daggers.... they were hidden beneath waist band of his trousers, the generous material enough to hide them. Anything bigger than a dagger and it would likely have been seen. It was part of the reason he preferred daggers to larger weapons such as samurai swords, something he knew at least two agents used.

Considering the question he said, "Fifteen minutes to Blood Rush." He was purposefully evasive. Checking the time he realised that would get them there at the height of the of hustle and bustle of such an establishment.

Heading towards the unit by the door, he pressed and twisted hidden buttons and knobs, used his palm and then pressed something else until it clicked and whirled. The top of it opened, no longer looking like an innocent side cupboard but the weapon store that it was. Well, mostly weapons. He looked until he found what he wanted, a collection of untraceable burner phones. He picked one at random, took the number out and read it. When it came to numbers he had a near eidetic memory, something that came in handy. Handing the paper it to Shasta once he knew it he simply said. "That's my number." No more threats, no ultimatums, no cursing. He had no doubts that if the vampire tried hard enough he could ditch him at the club, that this could all be an intricate plan to expose Jasper and get away all in one move. If anything, Jasper was actually expecting it. Still, a phone was a phone.... and they may have cause for it.

Unlocking and stalling the devices protecting them, he left the house and waited for the vampire to follow so he could lock and reactivate everything. You could never be too safe. And with Jaspers reputation he knew more than one vampire would love see him gone.... permanently. "Get in." He indicated to his car and headed off without much thought.

After about two minutes of silence he asked. "Does your head feel better?" He tried to tell himself that he only asked because he needed the vampire whole and working, that they were on a mission, but the truth was he was concerned..... pah! His mind snorted. Concern for a vampire! Ridiculous notion but true, what would he do next? Kiss one!? Hell would freeze over first.... maybe he had taken a few harder hits from those thugs than he had originally thought.

"What's the plan?" He didn't like going in blind. While things changed and he could adapt he liked an idea of a starting point at least. Plus, they were entering vampire territory and since he needed the vampire for this, it spoke to reason that the guy should set their goal. "Who or what are we looking for?" They were close now, another five minutes at most.

Shasta's eyes widened for a moment as the cupboard revealed a rather impressive stash of weapons. It was closer to what he'd expected to see when they first came into the slayers home, but he'd stopped thinking about it by then. His attention shifted to what Jasper was doing, accepting the paper when it was offered to him. “Ah, thank you.” He flicked his phone back out and open, punching in the number.

It seemed finally time to get things underway. He followed the other out, heading for the car again. At least this time he could make the trip without needing someone else's arm around him. He looked up from clicking his seat belt into place, regarding Jasper unsure when the other asked if he was better. “Much better. Thank you.”

Shasta lifted and dropped a shoulder in a simple shrug. “The plan is to gather more information. One of the regulars is bound to notice if a guy lookin' to be turned is actually picked up by some vampires. They might be able to give us a name.” He glanced across at Jasper as the other drove, adding, “We just don't ask specifically about the little girl. Best if they don't know what we're really after.”

He could tell where they were again when he looked out the window. It was nice to have his barrings back. He might even be able to find his way back to Jasper's house if he wanted to- he didn't imagine he would, though. He ran his fingers back through his hair, aware that they must be just about pulling up to the club by now. He gave the slayer another look over, but there wasn't anything more to be done. “Anything else before we go in?”

Jasper could tell that the vampire was suspicious of Jasper asking how he was. It didn't matter, though Jasper had no ill intent he clearly didn't feel the need to express this either. Let him think what he may. It made no difference to him.

He listened to the other and nodded in agreement. "Very well. I will play by your rules tonight. If anything looks like it is going down hill fast though, I will defend myself." He warned, flashing a glance at the other before focusing on the road again. He didn't want to kill them in a road accident before they even made it there after all.

"No mentioning the girl." He repeated, as if trying to convince himself that was for the best. He understood, agreed actually, but it was hard not to have her at the foremost of her mind. He wanted the girl ALIVE after all, not drained and lost to the world forever. Maybe the issue was that when he saw the kid he instantly thought of his sister? She had had the prettiest smile..... she would tell him jokes, and play games with him.... he glanced at his scarred arm, his grip tightening on the steering wheel as he mentally chastised himself. Now was NOT the time for such thoughts. He had to bring his A-game if he wanted to stay alive!

They sat in the car for a moment, the sounds from the club already polluting the air, and the smell.... it was enough to make Jasper want to wrinkle his nose in disgust! Such corruption.... it filled the air, turning it putrid and stale. Most humans ignored it, saw it as the normal atmosphere associated with a club, and it was, but for a very different reason to what they thought....!

"Can't think of a thing. Let's get this over with." He huffed, opening the door and walking around to open the vampires door too, not because he thought Shasta needed the help, it was merely ingrained habit!

He made a hasty decision and offered his arm. Lover might be easy to pull off.... simply because it would give him an excuse to look around, as if he wasn't really interested, was simply there for Shasta's sake. Of course, the idea of willingly let the vampire touch him was..... far from appealing.

"Your show. So lead the way." He said gruffly, not exactly happy with that idea. He could be about to walk into a lions den to be fed directly to the lions but the vipers took a second bite.... though he doubted they would take into account just how much will to live Jasper had. He had a purpose, and wasn't going anywhere until he saw it through! No lion or viper or vampire was going to stop him.

Shasta closed his eyes, “Just don't jump the gun.” Of course Jasper would defend himself if he felt he was in danger, but he hoped the man would otherwise play it cool. Who knew how a slayer would react to the devilish kinds of things that went on in vampire night clubs.

Speaking of, Shasta could hear the heavy beat of nightclub music from the street. It was going to be a loud, crowded night. Th smell of sweat and alcohol, with the metallic tang of blood was already pretty thick. He raised his eyebrows as Jasper went around to open his door for him as well, but as the other offered him his arm, he took it to all be playing a part- lovers.

He took the other's arm, resisting the urge to more closely inspect the crescent shaped scars. Instead he gave the arm an encouraging pat, before pulling Jasper towards Blood Rush's entrance. Into the lion's den they went.

Blood Rush was all low light and loud music, decorated mostly in dark colors, with accents of red and metal. Shasta didn't much like nightclubs; they reminded him of tacky versions of the speakeasies he once worked for. He missed hidden entrances, jazz music, and thick smoke. He kept a gentle grip on Jasper as he guided him through the throngs of people towards the bar, his gaze sweeping as he looked for any familiar faces. “Ah.”

He leaned close, his lips all but brushing Jasper's ear in an effort to speak softly but still be heard over the music. “The woman at the end of the bar is Corrina. She's a regular here, and some of the other clubs.” He paused, giving Jasper a moment to locate the young woman. She had long black hair that faded into a reddish-purple color past her shoulders, dressed in a little black dress. A purple ribbon was tied around her neck, not quite hiding a small scattering of puncture marks.

Shasta lead them down the bar, lightly touching Corrina's shoulder to get her attention. “Shasta. What a surprise.” Her gaze flicked to Jasper, and she smiled, “Finally got lonely all by yourself and decided to pick someone up?

“Hello Corrina.” He glanced back at Jasper, while letting his thumb stroke the others arm where he held it. “Something like that. This is Kyle.”

It was strange. Jasper had expected to be utterly repulsed when the vampire touched him, especially since his arms were bare and vulnerable, war wounds from a night he would rather eternally forget exposed for all to see. Yet the slightly cooled skin felt oddly.... nice. Not that he would ever admit it. No way!

Allowing the vampire to lead, he instantly began to feel uncomfortable. People bumped into him from all directions, the noise was so loud that it was hard to hear much else, and while he appreciated Shasta leaning in to give a heads up, the closeness and hot breath against his ear only added another level to his already overwhelmed senses.

With a nod he glanced where indicated and spotted a woman with..... was that....? Oh man. Around her neck was a purple ribbon, thick and with a bow to draw the eye. Unfortunately it was something else that drew Jasper's eye. Bite punctures. This was a walking blood bag. A blood whore.

He tried to keep the scowl off his face, though he didn't smile either. Simply remained.... indifferent, despite his whirling thoughts.

"Hey Corrina." He called over the thump of music, his eyes looking down when he felt more than just a simple hold on his arm. Green orbs instantly zeroed in on the spot that was being almost soothingly caressed by the vampire, as if the guy could sense his discomfort and was trying to sooth him, to play the part right.... his eyes looked into mismatched ones for a moment before he tore his gaze away. There was no way he wanted to linger on his present thoughts, no way he was going to allow himself to soften towards this vampire.... to do so would most assuredly lead to his death. Of that he had no doubt.

Shasta's earlier words played back to him "Just don't jump the gun." He understood. He'd play the role.... and wait, like the patient hunter he was.

Deciding to do just that he leaned in and pressed the lightest of kisses upon Shasta's forehead. The height difference was just what Jasper liked in a partner. Perfect for pulling the guy flush against him, but not too small, enough to hold his own.... and those were totally in appropriate thoughts!!!! He pulled back and tried to force a smile at them both before glancing around the happening of the club instead.

What had gotten into him? He had no idea anymore!

Several people in the crowd stood out to him. Two of them he was sure were vampires, the others he was still undetermined on. To be so surrounded by enemies' didn't sit well though. Not that Jasper.... or rather Kyle, for this evening... would back down. But the odds lessened with every additional paranormal that stood against him. That line from the hunger games played in his mind, 'May the odds, forever be in your favour.' He knew one day the odds would no longer be in his favour. But on that day, Jasper was determined to do some damage of his own before he fell.

Returning to the conversation, only half tracking the 'people of interest' through his peripheral view, he looked at the blood bag Corrine. Her skin looked smooth, and he supposed if he had been into women that she had the kind of body that most seemed to desire, an hourglass figure that was encased perfectly by her little black dress. Still, Jasper wasn't sure why they needed to talk to her... but he supposed you had to start somewhere. If she really did hang around as a regular, maybe she had heard or seen something? Maybe someone had told her a secret while she was, he gulped, feeding them.

Then a thought, completely irrational thought at that, came to him.... how did Shasta know this woman? Was he a regular addition to her collar of bites? And why the hell did he suddenly feel a dash of jealousy?

Wow! He must really be losing it! Evidently he needed more sleep! Having the vampire so close was obviously addling his mind! His expression tightened a little even as he tried to force himself to relax.

A kiss to the forehead was such an unexpectedly tender thing for the slayer to do, Shasta was lost for a moment. He blinked, before turning his attention back to Corrina. In truth the vampire wasn't very good at handling genuine affection, but of course this wasn't genuine. Jasper was playing along like he was supposed to, nothing more. Shasta told himself he was just surprised the slayer was being as cooperative as he was.

You two make a cute couple.” She leaned towards Jasper, telling the other faux conspiratorially, “But don't be fooled by a pretty face, Kyle. Shasta doesn't really like anyone.” She lifted a hand, suggestively tugging at the ribbon as she added, “I know from experience.

“Corrina.” Shasta said warningly. He leaned forward, resting a hand so the girl was a little boxed in, but the gesture seemed to pacify her. “Something other than Kyle has caught my interest lately. Be helpful, will you?”

She nodded, used to the fact that the vampire tended to be more interested in information than people and relationships. What a waste the man was such a loner most of the time. “Fine, fine.

“A mortal man, probably not normal to the club scene, started coming to this club a few weeks or so ago. He was looking for a vampire to turn him.” Most of the mortals at a place like this enjoyed the thrill of interacting with vampires, but you always had a handful of people wanting to go farther than that. When Corrina nodded, he continued, “Do you know if he met up with anyone?”

Jasper rolled his eyes at the comment. Cute couple. Yeah right! Of course he kept that to himself, quirking a brow at her 'advice'. Was any vampire different to that? They were all self serving grim bastards as far as Jasper was concerned, still he inclined his head and said simply; "I'll keep that in mind."

Of course, when she confirmed their association it just made something inside of him tense. Evidently even when he got what he wanted, namely blood, Shasta wasn't satisfied... and some asked him why he did what he did! Even if he hadn't been traumatised as a child their attitude alone would be reason enough for him.

Jasper forced himself to look a little bored as the guy spoke, though he was actually completely focused, taking every word on board.

"I might have." Corrina practically purred, and the noise grated against his already raw nerve endings. He had seen this play one too many times before, and he couldn't miss the lust that pretty much shone from her eyes. "What do I get in return?" Then she touched the ribbon around her neck and looked both men up and down. Jasper was more than a little uncomfortable with that.... especially when her eyes landed on his bites scars. "Seems we have something in common." She giggled, actually giggled, like it was the most natural thing in the fucking world! NO WAY!

Jasper barely managed to hold back an angry hiss, and perhaps his expression hardened slightly as... he just hoped the woman would see it more for possessiveness than the disgust it was. As if trying to add to the possessive idea he huffed out, "I don't share Corrina."

Shasta raised his brows at Corrina, indifferent to her come on beyond the not-at-all unwelcome idea of Jasper in bed. It didn't seem much good to let his mind wander to things that would happen only when hell froze over. But he let himself smile at Jasper's show of possessiveness, reaching up to run his fingers through the other's hair in an affectionate manner. Truthfully he just liked the excuse to touch the pretty coppery red locks. He let his Irish lilt drop lower, adding to the other man's words. “Neither do I.”

It was more fun playing couple with Jasper than plying Corrina for information, but he shifted his attention back to the woman. A little girl was in danger, after all. Because he knew it would appease her some for the brush off, he curled a lock of her dark hair around a finger, and made his voice soft and sweet, “How about I pay for your drink, and promise to introduce you to someone interesting? I know someone. You're just her type.”

Corrina had half a mind to be very difficult at both men's brisk brush off. They should be grateful for the offer, not turning up their noses. Still, her resolve to be unpleasant wavered when Shasta turned his attention fully back to her. Somewhat mollified, she replied, “Maybe. Will I like her?

“You'll be mad about each other. I'm sure, but I promise to make it up to you if you're not.” And because Shasta was good for such promises, she relented.

There was someone outside of the usual vampire freaks.” She confessed. “I don't know why you'd care. He seemed kind of like a pompous ass- I don't know hooooooow he did it, but I saw him talking to Nikolai and Isaac in back.” She wrinkled her nose, “He didn't seem like their type to me.” She tilted her head thoughtfully, “That was about a week ago. I haven't seen him since.

Shasta set a few bills on the table to pay for Corrina's next drink or two, smiling at her. “Thank you, Corrina.”

Does that help?” She asked, rather sincerely.

“Yes. I think so.” After a quick glance across the crowd to be sure they hadn't drawn attention, he took Jasper's arm again, leading the other away. Corrina might have looked a little put out at being abandoned, but they had more important things to worry about. Deciding they were enough in their own space, he leaned close to Jasper again, explaining in a hushed voice, “Nicolai and Issac are brothers, both blonde. Their sire is Eve.” He glanced nervously around them, before admitting, “Eve runs Blood Rush. She's.. particularly fond of keeping a few pretty young mortals. But I've never heard of her keeping children.”

The vampire confused him a little. His touch on Jasper's hair was soft and gentle, not how he remembered vampires being at all, it wasn't mean or cruel, or harsh.... and those words "Neither do I." Had the slightest of smirks appearing on his face, right before he forced it away again. The smile had likely only lingered for a single breath before disappearing, and most would have completely missed it. Still, he rather liked the thicker accent that filled the guys voice.... wow! He must be messing with my mind!

The conversation shifted and he was more than happy to let it. His mind was a hurricane of thoughts, and Jasper hated feeling so out of sorts. He missed some of the conversation, and while that wasn't really a good thing, considering the topic perhaps it was for the best. Then the woman seemed to finally become useful and Jaspers full attention bounced back to her... so they guy had come here, good to know they weren't just chasing their tails!

Nicolai and Issac.... he would remember those names, even as he nodded in response to Stasta. A little surprised when the guy took his arm, though he supposed he shouldn't have been.... got to play the part well, he reminded himself.

Jasper didn't exactly get the whole 'sire' thing, why would that be so important? It didn't generally effect how he killed them so he never paid too much attention, perhaps that had been a mistake.... not that he was about to ask a vampire. He doubted he'd get the truth anyway.

Then again, the idea that this Eve liked to keep pretty mortals disgusted him to his core, perhaps he should be pleased about his disfigurement since he doubted that would ever cause him to fall into the 'pretty' category.

Leaning down, trying to keep up the guise that they were together he whispered into the others ear, hot breath almost lingering almost like a sensual caress against the vampires lobe. "What are we doing now? Looking for them? Or gathering more information?"

He had said it was Shasta's call, and he would accept it. For now at least, especially since the guy seemed to be getting more results than he had. The time constraint pulsed at the back of his mind, pressed hard. They needed to act before it was too late. He couldn't lose that little girl!

With Jasper leaning so close to whisper, Shasta let his hand rest at the back of the other's neck, sliding his fingers into the hair at the back of the other man's head. He was a rather tactile person, whether its feathery soft hair or the raised flesh from scars, Jasper was pleasant and interesting to touch. He barely managed to suppress a shiver at the other man's hot breath against his ear.

“I.. hmm..” He murmured, trying to decide quickly where to direct them. He wasn't entirely comfortable with this. Every drip of information to the slayer was a new strike against him in the eyes of many vampires older and stronger than him. He gestured vaguely towards the back of the club, “Vampires may take mortals into the back rooms to.. enjoy them. Isaac and Nicolai are probably there, and if they're not, a vampire in back will probably know where they are.” Though in the end Eve was who they had to find. Shasta didn't know her resting place for the day- she may have the little girl there, or the girl could be in their very building, simply upstairs. Or the pair of them could be anywhere in the city.

“I wouldn't normally go in back. We'll be under considerably more scrutiny...” He glanced away, admitting quietly, “I'm concerned.. I don't wish to walk you to your death.” There was no straight forward way to confront Isaac or Nicolai to get what they wanted without giving something away. They would have to tread very carefully so that things would not blow up on them.

The vampires hand at the nape of his neck made Jasper want to yank back. A part of him screamed that the creature was too close! That this was a ridiculous situation that would literally end up biting him in some way or another! Yet he resisted the urge, even as the hairs rose under the vampires cooling touch. Of course, it didn't escape Jaspers notice, since he was so close, that Shasta seemed to shiver beside him... repulsion? Or desire? It was hard to tell. Shasta seemed to be unlike any vampire that Jasper knew.

There was a moment, no matter how short lived it was, that he actually started to see Shasta as more than just a vampire. Of course, that was before the reminder of his nature. "Vampires may take mortals into the back rooms to.. enjoy them." Yeah, Jasper just bet he could guess all the ways they enjoyed their human play things. His eyes snapped to the bracelet that Shasta still wore, only feeling slightly safer with the guy wearing it. He'd consider removing it but he had no idea if they guy would simply turn on him.... it's what Jasper would have done.

Despite every warning light flashing in his mind, he knew that if there was even a chance of finding the vampires they were looking for that he would have to do it. He couldn't allow that innocent child to be harmed, to be played and toyed with and kept as some pretty little decoration for the enjoyment of a sick and twisted blood sucker.

Keep remembering what they are! BLOOD SUCKERS! Leaches. Parasites on humanity! Yet, even as he thought that Shasta surprised him. The words having to circulate Jaspers mind three times before he had to accept them, to acknowledge that he hadn't made them up! "I'm concerned.. I don't wish to walk you to your death."

Without meaning to, his shock over riding his normal control, he blurted out; "Why would you care? You know what I am. Who I am." He was a human. A slayer at that! Jasper the Vampire Slayer. A used and deformed ex-blood-bag (even if he didn't wish to remember his attack like that, he knew it was the truth). Why would a vampire like Shasta care? Then again, Jasper recalled how the other had reacted to the knowledge that a child had been taken... how he had agreed to help... a vein of humanity? Or a very good act? Maybe this vampire was rather young? Though he didn't look or act like a new-born fledging. The guy was an enigma wrapped in a riddle and disguised as a puzzle.

Jasper couldn't help but glance towards the back, and as he watched several individuals go in and out, he knew his options and determination hadn't changed. "I have to do this." He confirmed, reminding himself as much as the vampire. "I will welcome death when it comes for me, but today... today is not my day to die." He shrugged, looking at the guy as the slight flash of a smile passed over his lips. "Lets go blood sucker." He winked then sobered, his smile fading completely. "We have a time element to consider."

With those words he started forward, holding his head strong and placing a hand over Shasta's to add to the 'lover' performance. He knew when they got closer he would have to let the vampire do all the talking... and right now, that was more than acceptable! He worked on his focus, keeping his heart rate slow and controlled, knowing all too well that most vampires could detect such things.

Shasta wasn't sure how exactly to explain. “I don't know you well. But..” He tilted his head, leaning back enough to look into the other's eyes, “You seem like a good man. Why wouldn't I care?” Who would save little girls from danger if Jasper died? He looked away, letting his gaze wander over Blood Rush's many mortal patrons. Slayers had a limited perspective of vampires, he understood why most of them saw only monsters living off of innocent mortals.

As long as Jasper knew what he was getting in to, Shasta could only nod. The brief smile was encouraging, at least. He stayed very close to the other as they made their way to doors that led into the back, all the while trying to think up what he could say once they found Nicolai and Isaac.

Shasta opened the door to the back, ushering 'Kyle' in with a wicked smile that promised all sorts of pleasurable things. Back to pretend flirting until they found who they needed next. The door opened to a lounge area, plush and comfortable. Closing the door muted the sound of the nightclub to little more than the solid thump of the base. Their were doors to private rooms, and on the far left were stairs leading to another level.

Shasta curled his arms over Jasper's shoulders, the picture of affection, though he directed his gaze at the few couples lounging on couches. “Seen Nicolai or Isaac? I need to have a word with them about something they'll.. enjoy.” He left it open ended, so the others could assume 'Kyle' was either the thing they might enjoy, or simply along for the ride while Shasta discussed something else.

The question from the vampire surprised him... made him almost feel bad! The guy felt concern for him even though Jasper was a slayer, while Jasper had never distinguished or hesitated in his plight to remove the vampire scourge from the world. Not that he felt guilty about that, he had slaughtered some of the worst creatures around, those that preyed on the weakest of human society.... he had caught most of them with their fingers deep in the cookie jar, or rather, with their fangs deep in the throat of a dead victim.

Jasper didn't speak, couldn't. He had no idea what to say, or how he felt right now... so he just followed the guys lead, not speaking when Shasta asked about the two vampires they sought with an almost provocative undertone...

"Nicolai or Isaac?" The vampire purred, looking at them both a little too closely for Jaspers liking, especially when the guys eyes landed on Jaspers scars. He tried not to be repulsed, to act nonchalantly. It wasn't easy, but he found that if he focused more on Shasta he could just about cope. Even if his frown deepened slightly.

The vampire didn't seem to notice, "You looking to have some fun Shasta?" Yep... Jasper officially wanted to vomit. "They're not here right now, but I'm sure I'd be more than happy to step into their place and enjoy this one with you." The guy flashed his fangs, as if he was being the most seductive creature in the world. "I can tell from the marks that he'll love it.....!" There was that near purring again, and once more Jasper was completely repulsed. "I'm sure he'll love being surrounded by us both. Who needs Nicolai and Isaac?" He even went as far as to rub a hand over what was clearly a straining erection. Nope... not going there!

You HAVE to act the part! He reminded himself harshly, internally chastising himself for ever getting in this situation in the first place. Stupid soft spot for kids! ....okay, maybe he wasn't actually regretting trying to help the little girl, but this position was fast approaching Jasper's limit.

He looked at Shasta, not wanting mess this up for the guy.... this was clearly very out of Jaspers realm of comfort zone. One, he never usually spoke to vampires -simply killed them. Two, this guy wanted to bite Jasper and that wasn't something he ever wanted. Three, well, Jasper's very skin was itching at the mere thought of being passed around multiple vampires. As promised though, he kept his mouth shut for now.... what more could he really do?

Shasta's mouth twitched down to hear the pair they wanted weren't there. He snapped his attention back from the disappointing news to the other vampire's proposition. His arm tightened a fraction around Jasper's shoulders, protective. “No.” He might have said it a bit quickly. He managed a pleasant smile he didn't even half feel, “I promised Kyle somethin' very special tonight. It's not an open invitation.” He carded his fingers lightly through Jasper's hair, letting the gesture appear possessive, though in reality he was just concerned with what was going on with the other internally. The slayer was being impressively stoic considering the conversation.

The vampire chuckled, eyes darkening from more than one kind of hunger. I could make his night special.” He stood up, stepping a bit closer as he looked Jasper up and down.

“If they are not here, where are they?” Shasta prompted.

The vampire gave an unhelpful shrug, his attention still focused on Jasper. “Night won't last forever. Do you really want to be running around town looking for those two, when you could be having so much fun here and now?” He smiled, making no effort to hide sharp fangs, “Why deny a little instant gratification when you can just find Nicolai and Isaac tomorrow night.”

“Not an open invitation, Conrad.”

The vampire shrugged, obviously not very impressed. “I don't know, for someone expecting a special treat, he doesn't look very comfortable.” He gave the pair a smug look, before reaching out to touch Jasper's chin. “Kyle was it?”

With a frustrated growl, Shasta slapped the other's hand away. Needing to drive the point home to Conrad that Jasper was off limits, he slipped his hand gently along the mortal man's cheek, and leaned forward to seal his lips over Jasper's. Better to beg forgiveness than ask permission, under the circumstances.

Okay.... Jasper was going to do something he regretted if this carried on. Though perhaps, and this was something difficult for Jasper to accept, it was made a little easier when Shasta seemed to defend him... it would have been almost too easy for the pair of vampires to overpower him, he wouldn't be able to do much. Sure he had his daggers, but he would soon be surrounded even if he did manage to take these two out...

More fingers in his hair, more gentle caresses that started to confuse him. Of course, the more the other vampire, Conrad, spoke; the more he wanted to stick a dagger in his heart and be damn the consequences! Then his chin was touched, and the guy seemed to call him out on being uncomfortable.... he opened his mouth to speak, his body repulsed by this guy in a way it didn't appear to be with Shasta (not something he was willing to consider right now!) only to find himself suddenly with someone else's lips on his.... Shasta's.... the scent tickled his nose. Play along, he told himself, even as he found himself not knowing what to do.... he was a little stiff at first, even as he forced his eyes closed and for his lips to appear active.... but then something clicked.... and unable to hold back he actually kissed the vampire back, not a chaste or sweet kiss, no, it was heated and passionate. Something that couldn't be faked. Though he would later wonder about the sanity of his thoughts he even brought one of his hands up and ran his fingers through Shasta's hair. His tongue licking at the seam of Shasta's lips..... not a sane move.... but for some reason his brain wasn't considering the fact that Shasta was a vampire!

Wow! He must really be desperate to get laid.... and hell must have frozen over! He'd have to go and find someone soon to scratch the ever growing itch!

It wasn't until he heard a groan that wasn't his or Shasta's that he pulled away. He couldn't help the sparkle of lust in his eyes after the kiss.

"You're a pair of teases!" Another rub of the guys groin drew Jaspers attention and he looked away in disgust to look over Shasta's shoulder instead.... better that way. "Fine. I heard they were doing business at the Warehouse. Apparently a very hot party and auction is going to happen soon.... so keep your ears open Shasta." He looked at Jasper again then and grinned with his fangs on show. "I bet you could sell your toy for a lot, even for a single use.... he's hot. I know I'd love to take a ride. Come see me if you two decide to play after all!" He winked in their direction.

The warehouse? Sell him? Oh shit.... not happening! He felt himself pale a little but tried to hide it, to see unaffected.... But they needed that girl. He was totally in over his head wasn't he!? He was about to go from the lions den and into the damn creatures mouth!

Shasta stroked his thumb over Jasper's cheek, moving his lips gently against the others encouraging a response but not pushing things farther than that. He felt something shift, and instead of going through the motions the kiss seared between them. He grasped at the other, pulling their bodies closer together as desire sparked through him. Jasper's fingers were in his hair, his tongue slipping against his lips; his mind reeled between what was and wasn't acting. He flicked his tongue against the others, sucked gently on Jasper's bottom lip, until a groan interrupted them.

Shasta could have throttled Conrad, but it was hard to spare the other a glance when his eyes caught sight of an echoing lust from Jasper. Was Jasper just reacting to the situation itself, or was there som interest there? It was a dangerous way to let his thoughts wander, so he leaned his arms protectively around the other, blocking him somewhat from Conrad as he gave the vampire his attention.

He nodded slowly. “An auction.. I see. No wonder they're busy.” His expression stayed carefully blank, unwilling to broadcast his thoughts. It wasn't the kind of thing he liked thinking about, and it definitely didn't bode well for a simple rescue of a little girl. “Thanks. Let me know if you hear anythin' else about it.” He smiled, just a little tightly, “Maybe next time Conrad.”

Jasper was looking a little white. He gave the other a gentle tug, and nodded towards the door, “Lets get some air, Kyle.”

Even after they pulled away from each other Jasper could feel the tingle in his lower lip, where the vampire had sucked it.... his heart had even skipped a bloody beat!

But slowly the lust begun to fade, now that he was no longer in the heat of the moment, a flash of what could only be described as fear spread down his spine.... what if the vampire (he refused to think the guys name in that moment) had bitten him? His flesh had been inside the blood suckers mouth! So close to those deadly fangs! Even the bracelet the vampire wore couldn't save him from that fate! And here he was, wrapped up in the guys arm as if it was natural to allow a vampire to touch him so...

Still he didn't pull away from the arm that seemed to be almost.... protective? Though he wasn't sure he actually trusted the guys motives, his mind was clouded after what they had just done, and the confusion was making it hard to keep track of all the little things he usually did so naturally.

"Yeah, I heard hey have a few hot pieces of meat up for grabs too." Jasper really didn't want to look at the strange vampire, he could practically hear the lust dripping in his throat.... and yeah, despite his internal freak out, he found himself appreciative that Shasta wasn't just abandoning him. "Eve has even been bragging that she will be showing off her latest acquisition. Whatever that means." From the corner of his eye he noticed that the other shrugged.

"Lets get some air, Kyle." Words had never sounded sweeter!

"Shame those guys aren't here.... I would have liked to have watched you play with this one." And yes, Jasper had made the mistake to look, to see the guy licking his lips.... okay... getting out of here sounded very, very, very good right now!

He nodded to Shasta and headed off without any complaint. Keeping his mouth shut had been next to impossible, but he had also known that he would have given them away if he had. He wasn't known for his diplomacy after all. Only the need to keep up their deception stopped him from pulling out of the others hold even now. But with each step he found it harder and harder not to run! Yeah, the great and might slayer wanted to run! Sue him! He was freaking the hell out inside, and while he had managed so far to keep it off his expression that wouldn't last forever. The maelstrom of emotions was building inside, swirling and spinning, as it picked up enough force to destroy him from within.

Only once they were free of the club and in the air did he actually breath again. Holy crap on a cracker! He pulled gently from Shasta's hold and rubbed his left arm a little as he looked around. "Let's get to my car...." He didn't want to talk out in the open, especially not outside of a club full of vampires! That sounded like a recipe for suicide right now!

Without waiting for a reply he headed towards his car. It wasn't until he sat in and slumped against the seat that he relaxed a little.

I kissed a vampire.

They are holding an auction.

That vampire was lusting me.

....I am so out of my depth here!

If he had been less of a man, Jasper suspected he would have thrown in the towel, instead he looked at Shasta, determination once more in place. "Can you get us invited to this auction?" He didn't beat around the bush, didn't talk about what had just happened in the club, right now he feared if he did he would cave and finish what they started!

Looking at the time he noted that there wasn't long until the sun rose, amazing how talking to idiots burnt so much time! "We have time to hit up one more place before the night ends if we're quick.... ideas?" Or was it best to return home now? And yes, Shasta was coming with Jasper. He wasn't about to let the vampire out of his sight until this was over. He just hadn't informed the vampire of this yet....

Shasta smiled and nodded as if this were as comfortable a conversation as any. Affecting a bored tone, he replied, “Eve always manages to get her hands on the nicest things. I'll have to see for myself whats special about the newest one.” Though this was exactly what he'd wanted to find out, he wasn't feeling even the tiniest bit pleased. He'd hoped, somehow, they would find a way to just pluck the girl from Eve. Minimal fuss. He had thought the worst case would be Jasper killing Eve to save the girl. But this was so much worse. So much more dangerous.

It was getting harder to force his smile for Conrad, but he managed to look pleased as he ran his fingers through Jasper's hair once more, as if the other vampires interest were a compliment. “You'll have to settle for whoever's at the bar.”

Shasta was nearly as relieved as Jasper when they were finally back out on the street. He dropped his arms to his sides, stepping back to give the slayer space to breath. They had their information... The only good he could glean from it was confirmation that the girl was alive.

He followed the other man to the car, climbing into the passenger side and settling in. It seemed like Jasper needed to gather himself, so Shasta aired on the side of caution and waited for the other to speak. Could he get them invited? The fact that he knew exactly who best to ask for that kind of favor made his reply quick and sharp, “I won't.” He didn't expect the slayer to take no for an answer, so he did his best to stare stubbornly out the window.

He shook his head. “I don't think there's anything more we need to learn. Eve has the girl. They will be at the auction in the warehouse.” He held his hand out towards Jasper, nodding towards the bracelet. “Take it off so I can go home. There's nothing more we can do tonight.” Jasper had told him h could leave at the end of the night if he helped, and though they hadn't gotten the girl back yet, he wasn't expecting the slayer to insist on taking him home.

"You won't?" He quirked a brow, turning to look at the guy. His frown turning almost threatening. He wasn't about to say no to this. Still, he needed to do something... but he needed to think straight first. Needed to.... man! Relax! Breath! SOMETHING! His skin felt like it was itching and before he knew better he was growling.

"Very well. Then you are backing out on our deal I see." He said honestly, narrowing his eyes as looked the guy up and down. "Seems you're ready to run when the going gets tough, huh?" He quirked a brow and chuckled, actually chuckled. "No little vampire. My exact words were; There are five hours until sunrise. If we finish before then I'll let you go. Now come on vampire, you're wasting time." He shook his head. "We haven't finished. The girl is still missing. That is my goal, was always my goal."

He clicked a button locking the car and looking at the guy and quirking a brow. "Now.... try that again vampire. Because I'm pretty sure I told you once, if you are no help, then you are no use to me."

Without waiting he set the car in motion and head back to his home.

Shasta rounded his shoulders, pulling his hand back to himself as the other man made his feelings on how things would continue quite clear. “It's not my fault we can't get the girl tonight.” He glowered at the other, accent coming across thicker in his agitation, “I could have gotten rid of ya any time I wanted in there. Not that that counts for anythin'.”

He slumped heavily in the chair, muttering 'bollix' under his breath as the door locked. Initially he considered sulking the entire drive back, but as the slayer reminded him he was useless if he didn't help the girl, he got a different idea into his head. He waited until they were on the road, before turning towards the other, “Useless am I?” He arched a brow, “I bet you could think of other uses for me, Jasper.” He leaned across the seats, resting a hand suggestively just above the other's knee. “Are you sure you don't just want an excuse to bring me home with you?” He teased.

He didn't expect anything to come of it. He was just frustrated, and it seemed the best way to be an ass as long as he was being kept against his will. At least it was better than picking a physical fight with the slayer, he was fairly sure he would loose that as long as he had the stupid bracelet on.

Yeah okay... the guy had a point, unfortunately he couldn't acknowledge it and keep his ace in the hole. Of course, this was a tricky situation he found himself in.... the vampire needed shelter during the day, but holding him against his will, even for a good cause, was a sure fire way of pissing the vampire off enough for him to try and kill Jasper.

For some reason, his mind decided that that was the perfect moment to conjure images of their shared kiss, their soft embraces, the way the vampire had almost protected him back in the darkness of the club. As if able to read his thoughts, Shasta's words echoed far too closely for comfort.

He harshly removed the guys hand off his knee, parking up at the side of the road, as he turned and flashed a look of utter menace at the vampire. He was growing tired of this game, and with his flesh so revealed he knew it wasn't helping his usual calm and stoniness. He was on display, vulnerable and desperate. Three traits that didn't work in his favour. "Do not mistake what happened in the club for reality Shasta." He pulled out the key grabbing the guys hand roughly and unlocking it before pulling out a single of his silver daggers. Having the vampire free wasn't good, while there maybe a residual weakness that wouldn't last long.... but he hoped the confined space worked to his advantage rather than meaning his death. "Get out." He frowned, his lips curling into a snarl. "I don't want a thing from you blood sucker. Count this as me keeping my word, even if you did not keep yours. Next time we meet, it may very well be the night I end you." His words were harsh, and although they made him feel oddly sad, he kept up the hardened killer mode, weakness right now would do him no good. Plus, it might make him cave to the very suggestion that was offer. Damn! It really had been too long since he'd been laid!

"Get out." He repeated, and yes, for a moment -the briefest of heartbeats- a flash of pain rippled through his eyes before he schooled it as if it had never existed. Why he was upset by the idea of Shasta leaving, of them meeting again as Jasper plunged a dagger through his heart, he didn't want to know.... well, he didn't want to linger too hard on such thoughts either. To do so would likely equate his doom. And he was pretty sure, he was already looking straight at it.

Shasta let the other shove his hand away, leaning back to his own side of the car as the other gave him a particularly unfriendly look. “Of course not. I'm sure sleeping with the damned is a sin, anyway.” His gaze flicked out the window as he noted the car slowing and pulling over to the side of the road, and he wondered if he'd crossed a line. He'd being trying to push the other, but he hadn't intended any real harm.

He jerked, blinking in surprise as the other grasped his hand and actually removed the bracelet. “Oh.” He rubbed his wrist curious about the other's change of heart, until a dagger was waved at him. Ah, so he had crossed a line after all. He shuffled as much away from the weapon as he could without actually leaving his seat, “What are you going to do if I leave?”

He flinched as the other barked at him to get out a second time, but feeling bolder (and much less trapped) without the bracelet, he settled back into the seat, and shook his head. “If I don't have to wear the bracelet, I will continue to help you if I can.” He didn't know what they would do next, but he didn't like the idea of Jasper blundering into the auction by himself- he'd probably get bought by someone. And that little girl would be no better off. Shasta let out a slow breath, adding, “And I will not touch you without your permission, if that makes you more comfortable. But you have to stop threatening to kill me.” It was stupid that he felt a little dissapointed when he thought about not being allowed to touch the other man. Really stupid when said man would kill him if he'd found him any other day on the street.

Looking Jasper in the eye, he gestured at the door, “Or would you rather I get out?”

"You got that right." He replied gruffly, though he didn't believe it was a sin, it simply made him uncomfortable to think about... he had lost himself in the moment earlier, but right now he could think straight, and knew that it wouldn't end well for him. Even if he topped the vampire, and that really was the only way Jasper had sex -he didn't bottom, for anyone- he doubted he would ever had the upper hand with the blood sucker.

When the guy asked what he would do now Jasper shrugged. He wasn't about to admit that he had no idea, but he didn't want to ask for the guys help now either. Stubborn pride, oh how you wound me! He had a few options, but none of them really went in his favour.... and he predicted this would swiftly turn into a suicide mission.

So be it.

Jasper was rather surprised when the guy didn't just jump out of the door, he had been so sure he would. He frowned a little deeper and then burst out into pearls of laughter. "And what, you want me to fall asleep with a vampire, who is now in possession of his full strength, lingering in my home. In the spare room that is all too close my own room?" He snorted. "Would you trust me if the situation were reversed?" He challenged.

He looked the guy over, rubbing the now cooling metal between his fingers as he thought about things. Truth was... he didn't have much of an idea about what he would do without the vampire.... or with him, for that matter. He crossed his arms, brooding for a moment as his thoughts swirled. "I can't promise not to threaten to kill you." He replied honestly, his eyes narrowing slightly. "Especially now you'll soon be at full strength. I'm not an idiot Shasta..." But damn he felt like it! The thickening Irish accent had something else thickening on Jaspers person! "...you could kill me before I was even aware you were coming. Then you'd be the mighty vampire that finally brought down Slayer Jasper. Quite an achievement really, no?"

He ran a thumb over the hilt of his dagger, wiggling it slightly, distractedly, as he contemplated things. "I don't have much choice. I need you to get me into the auction to save her...." Something that the vampire was fully aware of! "...beyond that though...." He shrugged, "You will listen or you won't like the consequences. Death isn't the only weapon in my artillery."

Jasper realised he hadn't confirmed or denied the whole 'no touching' thing, because oddly enough.... he didn't know how he felt about that! Intrigued, repulsed, worried, anxious, anticipatory.... such a flood of swirling thoughts it was a wonder they didn't completely consume him.

“Right.” He sighed.

Shasta pushed his fingers back through his hair, “What I want is to sleep in my own apartment.” He understood the lack of trust, but reminded the other, “But, you don't really need to worry. If I sleep at your place, I need a dark room, and I won't leave it from sunrise to set. What with the whole burning to death in the sunlight thing.” So no sneaking into Jasper's room while the other slept to do nefarious things.

He laughed, “Mighty Shasta! Slayer of Slayers! That has a ring to it, eh?” He snickered, sliding lower in his seat. At least Jasper was funny, even if unintentionally so. He spread his hands in a languid sort of gesture, “I don't know if you've noticed Jasper, but I have no interest in killin' ya.” He looked at the other carefully, conveying amusement, but there was something sad underneath, “I'm not sayin' you should trust me. I have the instincts of a killer, but just because I'm capable of something, doesn't automatically mean I will do it.” His only evidence that he wouldn't kill Jasper was that he hadn't yet, which really only went so far.

He watched the dagger sway in Jasper's grip. “I can't think of how else you'd get in.” He ran his fingers back through his hair again, anxious thinking about getting that invitation for them. It couldn't be avoided.. His attention flicked back to the slayer as the other promised consequences. He smiled, voice intentionally going too-sweet, “I'll listen to anything you say, Jasper.” He wouldn't necessarily be obedient, though.
