Name: Elye Crestfire

Age: 22

Position: Uke

Bio: Elye is the second child and only surviving son of his family, and decidedly at birth; he was to become a knight. Elye spent many of his years in service to a very strict lord, raised from page to squire. He has been very diligent and devoted in training, and only recently has he been taken in by certain distractions. Those "distractions" bear the name "Lady Alnosie"… Despite the consequences, he's gone through many lengths to impress her over the past year or so.

Personality: Quite a serious person, he's dedicated, and with few exceptions, focuses very well at tasks at hand. He seems like a cold person, due to his uneasiness with starting and keeping up with conversation, but he is a light-hearted person under his stern expressions and quiet demeanor. It's hard for him to relax as well, as he has trouble being comfortable around others, but it's possible, and he enjoys goofing around and takes pleasure in having fun with others. He's also incredibly ambitious, and doesn't release his goals easily. He intends to kill a dragon- something that will easily win him the hand of Lady Alnosie and enough wealth to become a knight with a single action...

Appearance: COMING SOON (He has dark blond hair that's just to his neck, a rather stern-face but with rounded cheeks that softens how severe he can be. He's of average height and has a lean, muscular body)

'Alnosie…' Elye thought to himself, repeating his beloved's name like a mantra in his head, sitting down on a large, flat rock, to rest. He was well on his way into the mountains just beyond his hometown. Locals had been very concerned with dragon sightings around this area- and rightly so. While they haven't had a dragon attack in almost a hundred years, the history alone was devastating… neighboring places had similarly gristly tales. Though the hunters who all claimed to have seen it said it was large, Elye doubted that a very large dragon wouldn't have attacked already. He assumed that it wasn't quite big enough to cause such legendary carnage. He guessed that, if he was quick and careful, he could slay the beast.

He would save the town from another gruesome story in history, and he would easily win the heart- and hand- of Lady Alnosie. And at last… Elye would become a knight!

'Lady Alnosie…' He thought again, looking up at the clear blue sky, and he stood up, ready to continue, putting his bag over his shoulder. Elye suspected that he may have to camp out for a night or two before discovering where the dragon resided, something he was prepared for. He smiled to himself as he continued deeper up the mountain path.

'Enjoy your last few hours, drake,' Elye thought, a wicked grin spreading across his face. 'It will not be long 'til I send you to sleep… and bring your head to my Lord.'

Name: Aiya Haruki

Age: 105 (Still young for a dragon)

Bio: Aiya just moved away from his family and to this place near a human village. He has always found humans to be extremely fasinating and wants to some day speak with one and learn from it. His parents and friends back home always warned him against it, saying that humans and dragons could never get along, but he was determined to try to find a way that they could learn from one another.

Personality: He is very curious and rarely thinks through his decisions. He always has good intentions, even though the results of his actions can be very bad. He doesn't really like to talk about himself since he doesn't think he learns anything from that. Despite his usual playful personality he can be very dangerous when he's angry. He isn't good at controlling his temper and so doesn't calm down easily.

Appearance: (picture coming soon) He has long, golden hair (not blond, actually gold in color) light brown skin, and bright orange eyes. He is a little bit tall, but pretty skinny looking despite his natural strength. In his dragon form he has the same color eyes and bright golden scales. His body is thin and long in that form and he has giant wings

Aiya's feet lightly hopped from stone to stone as he crossed a small stream. It would have been much easier to have just flown over it, but the dragon was trying to practice being in his human form. It seemed to make the most sense to try to appear human when first visiting the village nearby, then he could see if the humans seemed friendly or not. But in order to do that Aiya would have to be able to walk around like a normal human. He couldn't be falling over because of having only half as many legs...

The dragon had the entire thing planned out, first he would move in and befriend the humans. Then they would be in some kind of mortal peril, probably bandits or something, and he would reveal himself as a dragon and save everyone. Of course they would be shocked, but they would be so grateful that they wouldn't be too upset.

It had never occurred to Aiya that his plan was full of flaws and could get him killed.

He finally managed to get to the other side of the stream and flopped down on the grassy bank with a soft sigh. Aiya had been wandering around the mountain side all day in his human form as practice, he knew that he could get back to the cave he had claimed in just a matter of minutes, but he liked to pretend that he was on some kind of long journey and had to hurry to get home.

So many of his days alone were just playing around and pretending that he was human. It was fun, but also lonely... There weren't any other dragons nearby and he still didn't feel ready to go meet the villagers, so his imagined future was really all he had.

Eyre started to hear the distinct sound of the familiar stream as he marched on. This pleased him, as it was a good indicator of where he was. He had never ventured this far alone before, and was relying on his prior experience and common sense to not get lost, rather than the expertise of older squires or his lord.

The water's song became louder, and Eyre considered washing up a bit to refresh himself. It was a very warm day. Once he got to the river, he might rest again for a bit, and stay near it until nightfall, as the sky was getting dim. However, he didn't expect to happen upon a man in peculiar clothing hopping about on the stones, crossing over the line of crystal water. He wondered if he was a foreign traveler. Looking around, he didn't see supplies to support this idea- no camping, hunting, trading, supplies or the like were anywhere to be seen. Eyre hoped that he hadn't lost them to the stream… or worse, the dragon.

Eyre didn't want to startle the man, particularly as he had just lied down to rest, and he wasn't sure of what to say, regardless. But his concern for the man with nothing overcame is disincentive to converse with him, and as he got close enough to be heard without shouting, he cleared his throat.

"Hello, there." He greeted him, albeit uneasily. "Are you well this evening?" It seemed like an awkward way to ask if he needed help, but he couldn't think of anything else to say.

Aiya jumped at the sound of a voice, he hadn't been paying enough attention to his surroundings and so hadn't noticed the scent of a human coming closer. He looked up at the human with wide eyes and quickly climbed to his feet. The urge to examine the man was almost overwhelming, but Aiya had just enough common sense to hold himself back so he wouldn't seem strange.

"Hello!" He couldn't keep the excitement out of his voice. He was actually talking to a human, it was like a dream come true "I'm very well, are you? What are you doing all the way out in the mountains? Are you from the village?" Aiya couldn't help the string out questions that came bursting out, he wanted to know everything about this person.

Elyre was surprised to be greeted so energetically. Perhaps a friend who hadn't seen him in a long time would react to him so eagerly, but a complete stranger? His grasp on the language was very good, too. Perhaps he wasn't a foreigner, but had been to the neighboring kingdom before and preferred their clothes?

"U-uh… yes, yes I am well. Thank you." He replied, mostly out of habit, and he had to pause after to regain his thoughts.

"I am from the village there," He said, pointing in an arching gesture towards the now barely visible town. "I am a squire to Lord Ligose. I am Eyre Crestfire." He introduced himself, bowing before the man. "However, the reason I am here is the reason why you shouldn't be. It is rumored a dragon has made nest in these mountains." The squire explained. "It isn't very safe here, for the time being."

Aiya stopped in his tracks at the explanation. Someone was coming to find him? The dragon wanted to believe that this person had good intentions... But the way he talked about it didn't seem too promising. "um... What are you planning to do with the dragon if you find it?" He asked slowly. If the human wanted to hurt him then he would have to figure out some way to stop him... But maybe he wouldn't, maybe he was coming to greet the dragon... Although that seemed pretty unlikely, even to Aiya.

Elye smiled a bit at the question.

"What hopeful squire would be after a dragon if not to slay it?" He asked the stranger. "Or, at the very least, I'll carve the name "Alnosie" into it's flesh. So even if I am slain, it will not be in vain, for Lady Alnosie will know it was for her, and the beast will bear the most beautiful name as tribute." He said, his expression becoming someone dreamy. While he said this, he did not intend to die. If it seemed too much to handle, he had confidence in his skills that he would be able to escape and recuperate and give it another go. He didn't give up easily, and he was not so ready to give up his life.

He would have the dragon.

"What? Why would you kill it?" Aiya was unable to keep the shock and horror from his voice. "I mean, what if it just wants to be friends? It hasn't hurt anyone has it?" he insisted, stepping closer to the human. "You should try to talk to the dragon... It could go a lot better than you'd think... I've been staying up in these mountains for a few days and i"m fine" he smiled brightly, hoping that he would be able to convince Eyre to rethink his plan to kill him."

Elye was shocked at his tone, he certainly didn't expect him to defend the creature. This stranger was incredibly peculiar… did he not know what a dragon was? They were monsters! They breathed hellfire, killed indiscriminately. A large one could destroy an entire village in a day. Small ones were still capable of great devastation. They ate so much, hunters would bring home no game. They would eat livestock kept by farmers and peasants. They would eat people. They would burn forests and houses alike. They would steal and hoard treasure.

They were nothing but destruction. Eyre could hardly think of how to respond to someone actually against the idea of killing one.

"I…." He sighed. "Dragons don't talk…" He finally said, uncertain of what else to reply with.

Aiya stared at the human, suddenly come over by a sense of hopelessness. How could he convince this human to try talking things out if he was this stubborn? It seemed completely impossible... After a moment of silence he thought of a plan, it might be hard to do but Aiya had enough confidence to try. "Well... If you think it's really necessary to kill it..." he said slowly. "I have seen a couple of footprints that looked like they could be from something like a dragon... want me to show you?"

Elye's eyes lit up at the stranger's sudden change of heart. Perhaps he was just a bleeding heart, one who wanted to spare any lives, but at least he had come to his senses. After all, a living dragon would cause many casualties later.

"Why yes, of course!" He replied eagerly, nodding. "Any lead would help. Of course, only show me as far as you're willing. It would be wrong of me to allow you too close to approximate danger. Once you show me the tracks, I should manage the actual tracking myself." Elye told him.

"I wouldn't want to wander off though... What if the dragon's out? If its really as dangerous as you say then I think it would be safer to stay with you... At least until you know the dragon is wandering around..." Aiya tried to make his voice sound fearful and unsure. He began to walk towards the last place where he was in his dragon form.

Elye pondered the concern the stranger brought up. That was true… just being out near the mountains was a threat. And he was being very kind and offering to help, the least the squire could do would be to help him. After all, a good aspiring knight thrives to serve beauty in all forms, and this unusual man was certainly a beauty.

"Of course, forgive me for not taking that into consideration," He told his now-companion. "I will guard you with my life, since you are, yourself, so kind and brave to assist me." Elye vowed, following after the alluring man with the golden hair.

Oh my god, I've been misspelling his name all this time! DX

"Really? You promise to protect me no matter what?" Aiya asked, looking over his shoulder with a bright smile. "How heroic!" He scampered through the trees until he can across one of his own huge footprints. "Here! This is the one I found, I thought it must be some kind of prank... But maybe it really is from a dragon" he looked at Elye with wide eyes. "What do you think?"

Eyle smiled despite himself, feeling rather important to have someone so fair rely on him.

"Yes, of course. I vow I will protect you from harm." He told him, following the nimble young man through the trees. Eyle was no stranger to the woods, but even he had difficulty keeping up. He wondered who this person was, what he did for a living. Before long, Eyle was brought to an impressive set of tracks.

Eyle had never seen a dragon, and didn't know much about tracking them. He wasn't sure if he could tell a real print from a fake, however, he doubted anyone would be so cruel when there were actual sightings. Besides, the only people who knew for sure were hunters, and they clearly wouldn't set a fake track.

"This must be the genuine thing," He said, decidedly. His heart starting beating faster, excited and nervous. Things were going better than he planned. He may be killing a dragon today!

Aiya crouched down next to the giant track and pretended to examine it carefully."which way do you think it was going?" He asked, looking up at Eyle with the same expression a small child would give a highly revered teacher. "You must be a master in dragons, since you're going to kill one... I think it was going that way" he pointed in the direction he knew his cave was in. "But I'm sure you'd know better than me"

Elye crouched beside the print as well. If a dragon was like similar creatures… he could be able to deduce some.

"It looks like it's heading down that way, yes" He agreed, looking up, and was surprised by the look the other was giving him. It almost made him feel uneasy, and the compliment burned his face from his nose to his ears.

"A-ah… well, no one's a master in dragons, one hasn't been around these parts in years, after all." He said, looking away, a bit flustered. "I've done as much reading as I could. I'm trained in the sword, so being able to kill it efficiently isn't a problem I expect to face." He replied. Then Elyre cleared his throat.

"You're not too terrible at tracking, either. Are you a hunter, perchance?" He asked.

Aiya stood up straight. "I'm not a hunter... I'm more of a traveler, but I do a lot of hunting to keep myself alive while I'm traveling" he smiled and gestured in the direction the footprints were going. "you should probably take the lead... I would just get in the way in the dragon popped out of nowhere" He laughed nervously. "I'm starting to wish that I had some kind of weapon with me... I left all my things back at my campsite"

"Oh, so you are a traveler…" Elye muttered out loud, nodding as he stood. That made a bit more sense.

"You're right, I'll stay ahead of you." Elye said, and started to unstrap the large shield from his arm. "Here, tell me if this is too heavy for you. It's a very trustworthy shield." He said, sliding it onto his companion's arm. "It should keep you safe in a pinch."

As an extra measure, the squire unsheathed his sword. His breathing was a little less even. The reality of seeing a dragon, of having to fight one… was upon him. And now he had a human life he also needed to protect. But he had to. He had to do this.

"Remember, this is my task. If it appears that I am losing and that I may die, run." He instructed the golden-haired beauty as they walked together towards their destination.

The shield felt extremely light on Aiya's arm, he couldn't help but wonder how anyone could possible think this was heavy. He was distracted by his thoughts at the sound of Elye's sword unsheathing... He really does want to kill me... He slowly walked after the human to his cave. It was filled with precious metals and gems that he had brought from his home as well as found a long the way, mixed in with the sparkling jewels were bits of bones from animals, all picked clean of any meat. The dragon stayed close to Elye, waiting for the perfect chance to make his move.

Elye was impressed with how easily he seemed to handle the shield, wondering if he had any combat training.

The two ended up inside the cave, and it was very clear that it was the den of a dragon. It was like a painting, or the inside of a palace. Gems glittered like stars when ever light filtered in against the surface. It was beautiful, if it weren't for the animal bones. Large animal bones, too. Elye felt the blood drain from his face. He could easily wait here, and the dragon would eventually return.

It was really happening… this was really happening…

'Alnosie, Alnosie, Alnosie…' He repeated in his mind. He had to do this...

Aiya followed close behind the squire. He soon noticed how fearful Elye seemed. A soft smile crossed his lips and he let the shield clatter to the ground. "Don't worry..." he murmured, wrapping his arms around the human in a firm, but gentle, grip that held his arms to his sides. "I'm not gonna hurt you..." His body shuddered as he began to switch to his dragon form. Slowly his skin was covered in brilliant gold scales and his body stretched and twisted into it's natural state.

Elye was slightly reassured when he heard the other's footsteps, despite the fact that he had to protect him. Actually, it might be better to hide him somewhere deeper in the den… suddenly, he heard a clattering- and he thought maybe his companion dropped the shield, and he wasn't so used to using one after all- or worse, the dragon was already here, and knocked something over-

Before he could react, he felt the slim arms of his golden-haired partner around him, his grip was strong. However, it wasn't his grip for long, as somehow, golden, shimmering scales over large, reptilian limbs replaced them. How was that possible? What was happening. He jerked against the hold, to no prevail.

He dared himself to look up, only to look at the majestic, terrifying beast. Elye was so scared and confused, he couldn't even scream...

Aiya smiled down at the tiny human, although his fanged grin was far more terrifying than comforting. "don't look so scared..." He growled softly. "If I wanted to kill you then I would have done so when we first met..." He leaned down and gripped the blade of Elye's sword in his teeth, gently trying to tug in away from the human so he wouldn't hurt him.

Elye was breathing hard, eyes locked on the beast that had ensnared him, now realizing that his companion was the dragon… dragons can become human… dragons do talk.

The sword easily slipped from his grip, as Elye couldn't think fast enough to react to it being taken from him. What the dragon said was true, though… unless there was a benefit to killing him in the lair. Was there? Elye couldn't think of anything… then again, he didn't now how dragons think. Why wouldn't he kill someone who was so clearly here to kill him?!

"W-what… what are you going to do?" Elye finally managed to ask.
