Aiya shrugged and crawled over to the remaining boar. It still felt weird to walk on two legs, so he found himself avoiding it whenever possible. "I guess it just depends on the species... Deer just eat grass and leaves, I would starve to death if I tried to do that" He laughed softly.

"do you mind if I eat the rest of this? I can hunt something fresh for you in the morning..." He licked his lips, trying not to drool over the animal. He still felt extremely hungry, but after hearing what Elye said about dragons killing too many animals he didn't want to do anymore hunting...

Elye smiled, even if he looked human, the two of them really were a completely different species from one another. He was reminded constantly of their differences by the way the other moved, talked, ate… Even as a human, his hair and his beauty was unearthly.

"I suppose you're right about that." Elye agreed. "And help yourself! I'm certainly not going to be able to eat it. I wouldn't even be able to cook all of it!" The squire added playfully, moving to allow the dragon more room, assuming he'd transform himself again.

It was very kind of Aiya to stay the night, but any longer would be troubling. He hadn't told many people he had left, and those he did know didn't know why. Even if he was enjoying himself, he couldn't forget his responsibilities. He frowned, and took a large bite from his skewer again. Even if he was befriending a dragon, what would his responsibility be if others became wise to the fact a dragon lived so close to the village…?

"Ah, thank you very much for your hospitality, but it would be best for me to return home in the morning…"

"return? why would you return in the morning?" Aiya frowned and slipped his clothes off before changing into his dragon form. "don't you like it here? I thought we could learn more about each other" he ripped a huge chunk of meat off the boar's body and swallowed it effortlessly. His bright eyes stayed trained on the human as he torn another piece of flesh. "I wanted to spend more time with a human... I need to learn more about your habits and things"

"Well… remember what I told you about societies, with lots of humans helping each other?" Elye started, swallowing. "This means a lot of humans become close, and if I am gone for too long, some people who care about me, and that I care about, will become concerned for my safety."

The squire thought about it for a minute, trying to calculate how long he could stay. He never told anyone how long he'd be gone, since he didn't have much of an idea of how long it would take to track and kill a dragon, after all. From his location, it would take maybe half a day to return home, now that he knew where he was. But he didn't want to hike through the forest in the evening… Staying for breakfast wouldn't hurt, though.

"Hm… I supposed I wouldn't have to leave right away…" Elye replied. "I'm not exactly keen on leaving, either. And I could always return again." He reminded the dragon, and took another bite.

"And speaking about learning about each other, I've been doing most of the talking. My apologies… why don't you tell me about dragons?"

Aiya let out an almost hostile growl at how insistent the man seemed on leaving. The dragon didn't respond for a moment as he finished the boar. He didn't really trust the human to come back another time... Elye might just come with a bunch more humans to kill him...He did seem to have a good reason to murder the dragon.

He stopped his thoughts as Elye requested some information on dragons. "I'd be happy to, what do you want to know?"he gave the man a toothy grin.

Elye jolted a bit at the guttural sound the dragon made. It was so beastial, it was a bit startling. He remembered how easily he had disarmed him earlier, rendering his sword into nothing but fluid in his teeth, and he looked away, his heart beating rather quickly in his chest. If he really wanted to, Aiya could kill him easily, and suck the raw meat off his bones. It would be wise not to forget that…

"Hm… I suppose dragons are solitary beings?" Elye started. "How does that work, how do you communicate with other dragons? You can speak, so you must talk with one another, right?"

"There are areas where lots of dragons live... Usually just places where humans don't live, so deep in moutains, deserts and sometimes forests.... Some of us prefer to live in those areas, but a lot of us choose to live on our own or with our mate" Aiya crawled up onto the pile of gold, wrapping his tail protectively around it all. "we do talk to each other... we have our own old languages that we used to always speak, but now we rarely use them"

Elye felt a shudder in his core. He never thought about the idea of lots of dragons in one place. They always seemed so mystical, solitary beasts who laid roost when it pleased them. They all lived together, yet they didn't form societies like humans, then? He wondered what it was like to live as a dragon among other dragons. But he was also curious about the languages.

"So when did dragons start learning and using human speech?" He asked. "And do you speak any of the old languages?"

"I don't know when we started to learn your languages... Probably when humans started to make such huge settlements and invade our territories..." Aiya tilted his head in thought. "I do speak one of the old languages... I use it with my parents and elders a lot..." He turned back into his human form, figuring it would be easier to talk to the human in the other form. He didn't bother finding clothes and just pulled some gold over his body instead.

"would you like to hear some of the old language?" he offered, leaning towards Elye and pushing his hair back out of his face.

"Oh…? So dragons must have spoken to humans at some point, right?" Elye pondered out loud. At some point, there were at least some humans and some dragons that got along, right?

Elye was pretty used to his changing back and forth between forms at this point, and wondered if he could turn into anything else. There was a lot he wanted to know about the dragon now.

"Yes, I'd love to hear it," Elye replied.

"I'm not very clear on our history... I probably could ask one of the elders but I was never very interested" Aiya said with a shrug. He cleared his throat when Elye asked to hear his language. After a moment of thought he turned into his dragon form again, realizing it was impossible to properly speak the language with human vocal chords. He let out a series of strange sounds that sounded like rocks moving and smashing together, accompanied by some low growls. The dragon's lips barely moved as he spoke in the strange language.

"Hm…" Elye wondered how long Aiya had been on his own, since he seemed to have an incredibly strong fascination with humans. Aiya had said it wasn't uncommon for dragons to choose to live on their own, but he wondered if it was lonely. He became a dragon-again- and started making some very strange, almost threatening sounds. Elye scooted a bit of a ways from him. He didn't think he was dangerous, but those sudden odd sounds were really unsettling.

Then Elye realized that he was speaking. His eyes grew wide.

"That's how you really talk?"

Aiya stopped making the noises after a moment. "Yes, that's our language... Its actually pretty new compared to some of the others, but I've heard that it's from before humans even exsisted..." He turned back to his human form and smiled at Elye. "What did you think? Was it what you were expecting?" He was actually very curious to find out what the human thought of dragons, if things went too badly with Elye then he'd probably give up on trying to learn more about humans.

Elye took a deep breath, he couldn't imagine communicating in such a way. He definitely had a new respect for dragons, being able to make such sounds and actually discern a meaning from them.

"Before humans…" He repeated. Just how old were dragons? Could they even be older than the Mother Goddess…? Come to think of it, were dragons created? Or were they always here, like the rocks and the trees?

Elye chuckled. "Well, I wasn't expecting anything, really. But definitely not that. I couldn't tell when one word stopped and another started," He admitted.

"Really? I didn't expect you to understand me but I didn't think it was that hard to understand..." Aiya frowned and thoughtfully played with a strand of his hair. "hm... I guess I would think the same if I heard any other human languages... I once met a dragon that was really interested in languages, she said that human languages are more in the mouth and dragon languages are more in the throat... Although I'm still not fully sure what that means" he laughed and flopped down in the gold.

Elye tilted his head to the side, pondering on that. Well, Aiya's language did sound very 'throaty', so perhaps that was a fair distinction to make.

"I suppose that makes sense, then. Human rely more on our tongues and lips to form certain sounds when we speak, but dragons are capable of making many distinct noises without shaping their mouths. In that perspective, it makes sense that dragons speak with their throats and humans with their lips."

The more he learned about dragons, the more he felt he learned about humans. Speaking with Aiya gave him all new insights.

Aiya smiled and crawled over to the human, not really caring that he was still completely naked. It didn't bother him too much since dragons didn't really wear clothes, he usually just did it to practice looking like a human.

"Isn't it amazing how different we are? I mean we can talk so easily and I can even act like you but we're so different" he sat down next to him and pushed his hair over his shoulder. "My family always thought I was strange for liking humans so much, but I can't help it. You're all so interesting"

Elye was all but completely comfortable with the naked man. He would forget the dragon was naked, but then he'd be reminded, and it made it difficult to concentrate. No matter who possessed it, beauty was beauty. The dragon had such elegant features, and moved so gracefully. And his long, pure golden hair…

Elye remembered that he was the one who exposed his body to the other first- and the dragon had even licked him, touching his body all over… He made himself look away when the dragon sat next to him. He remembered Alnosie…

"Quite amazing…" Elye replied, half-listening. He looked back to the man beside him, and smiled. Those bright eyes in such a welcoming face, even belonging to a dragon, it was comforting and appealing.

"You are a bit of an odd one," He remarked playfully. "But I am very thankful for that."

Aiya laughed and shrugged it off. "me? I'm just a dragon that likes to spend time with humans, there's nothing strange about that at all" he teased.

The dragon looked down at the gold he was sitting on and frowned slightly. "um... I was actually wondering something, you said you were going to go back to town tomorrow morning..." he nervously twirled a lock of his hair around his finger. "could I possibly come with you? I mean... I can't really go by myself because I might mess up..."

"And I'm a failing knight who can't kill a dragon," Elye replied chuckling. But he could. If he was fast enough, he could take the knife by his side, steeped in the stench of boar blood, and force it into the bare, tight chest of the golden-haired dragon man. If he was sly and fast- he could slay the dragon in this form.

But he wouldn't. He won't kill the dragon. So why didn't he say that instead?

"Come… with me?" Elye scratched his head, rather surprised that he would ask such a thing. Aiya was very fascinated with humans, sure, and eager to learn more about them, but keeping human form and pretending to be a real human in a human town? That was rather risky. He took a large bite to give him more time to think before answering.

They would have to come up with a good reason that he was bringing back a stunning foreigner when he disappeared overnight. What would he tell those who knew he went after a dragon? What would they do about the dragon rumors? It's unlikely anyone would be suspicious that the 'newcomer' would have anything to do with the dragon… but still, the town would be at an unrest for some time without a dragon's head.

But there was no danger in the rumors.

Swallowing, the young squire smiled.

"Of course! I would be glad to have you return with me. You will be an esteemed guest of the Ligose house." He told him, nodding. "I will ensure your safety."

"really? Thank you!" Aiya threw himself at the knight in an attempt to mimic a hug that he had seem before humans in the past. He pulled away after just a moment and smiled brightly.

"You can give them some of my scales and say that you saved me from the dragon. oh! And we can say that the body fell off a cliff into a river, so they won't be able to find it!" The dragon bounced up and down in excitement at his own plan. He honestly could think of any flaws in it, although there were many, he was just too excited to have a chance to go to an actual human town. He thought it would take years for him to build up the confidence to just go into one since there were so many things he still didn't know.

Elye was surprised when the lithe man threw his body onto his, only having a mere moment to react, and instinctively his arm wrapped around the dragon's torso- he was warm to the touch- releasing when he pulled away.

Elye, despite looking upon such an excited and happy face, winced at the plan of the naive dragon.

"That… may not be the best story." He admitted, shaking his head. "To be honest, any real evidence of a dragon short of a dead body isn't going to be enough." Elye said. Among other things, the plan would cause a lot more problems, and they'd have to weave a much more complicated lie.

The simpler the lie, the easier to pull off.

"I could say I was out trying to find a particularly lovely pet for Alnosie, my beloved, and I found you, a lost foreigner who can barely speak our language." He emphasized the last bit. He felt it was very important that they try to discourage others from talking to the dragon, lest he give them both away. "I've brought Alnosie a few sweet animals a couple of times, it is believable." He stated.

"And when people ask about a dragon in the woods, we'll both act very puzzled at the idea. Dragon in the mountains? We saw no evidence of that. That sort of thing."

((Sorry for delay! ))

"oooh... I see, that makes lots of sense" Aiya frowned and thought about the plan for a moment. "but... I can speak the language? We don't need to lie about that part do we?"

He was still extremely close to the human. "You can just say I'm a foreigner who speaks the same language, otherwise they might notice that I do know your language and be confused... It's actually true that I'm a foreigner, I'm just a foreigner who's also a dragon..." By the time he finished speaking he was almost sitting on top of the the man. "I wanna be able to ask questions about things! if I have to worry about staying quiet I won't learn anything about humans" His voice had a slight hint of frustration at the very idea of not being able to speak freely.

Elye sighed as the dragon complained about his plan, inching closer and closer with every individual complaint.

"Listen… I know it's not really fair, and you'll probably get bored of just talking with me freely while restraining from others…" He said, looking him into his smoldering, beautiful eyes. Everything about the dragon, regardless of form, was stunning.

"But you don't want to ask someone the wrong question, right? If you were to become too enthusiastic and too curious, you may ask about something mundane and universal to humans… which could end up exposing us." His eyes fell to the golden strands laced over the bare, slim shoulder.

"At the very least, if you pretend to not speak the language well, if you do happen to slip up, and someone is suspicious, we could explain it as a misunderstanding due to the language barrier."

Aiya kept an annoyed expression on his face but looked away. "Fine, we'll do it your way" he huffed before flopping down on the pile of coins. "I'm gonna go to sleep"

The dragon was acting like a pouting child, which wasn't really unusual for him. His human form once again contorted into that of a dragon. His bright scales brushed up against Elye's body as Aiya snuggled down into the gold, a low comforted growl emitting from his throat. He closed his eyes, tired from the day of exploring the forest and interacting with the human.

He was really only upset because he wouldn't be able to talk much and his plan had been rejected. Secretly the dragon was extremely excited to go to the human town, he wasn't even sure if he would be able to sleep...
