amberwynter
"eh-fuck character development!" Mo-Ne grumbled to himself as he ran a hand through his dark tresses and stood from his desk chair to stretch. He'd been sitting in the same position for nearly four and half hours, since his last class of the day had ended, and needless to say his body was hating him for it. In the two weeks since the beginning of the fall semester Mo-Ne had managed to write a very mind numbing six pages of work. He'd hoped, when he had elected for a transfer from his previous college, that the change of scenery and a much more creative-writing driven, literature program would help get his writing juices flowing. So far all it had managed to gain him was an annoying new roommate, a larger campus to get lost at and an even more frustrating case of writers block. If he was being honest with himself, he hadn't written anything of merit since.... senior year of high school? Had it really been that long? Deciding that it was more than time for a smoke break, he grabbed a light jacket, his Ipod, keys and his cancer-inducing vice of choice and headed out into the open night air. He could hear not to far in the distance the sounds of his fellow students chatting among themselves. Spending their free-time nestled around the various picnic tables on school grounds, smoking hookah and planning for the latest party that was sure to be 'all the rage'. As he retrieved the lighter from his pocket and lit a cigarette, he couldn't help but scoff at his, almost automatic judgement of them. If his life had started out differently, perhaps he would be exactly like them. But sometimes life wasn't fair, and you had to work with the cards you were given. Zipping up his jacket he began to walk one of the many trails on the school grounds, no particular destination in mind, as long as it took him away from his room and his writers' block. Hatorilao1
'Finally!!' Kyle thought as he jumped up enthusiastically and let out a sigh of relief 'the Masterpiece is done' he laughed at himself shaking his head as he looked at the projector with pride. After four grueling hours since the end of the day, Kyle had shut himself in the media room working on his latest project. A beautiful futuristic themed scene, set in a post-apocalyptic world 'it looks like a photo, like that world might actually exist somewhere...' he thought as he stared at his work. After saving, printing and packing up, he headed out to get some fresh air. The night was cool yet comfortable as Kyle walked along a secret path around the back of the block of class rooms and away from all the others students in the open courtyard. He wasn't that sociable at the best of times and many people often misjudged him for being so straight forward, so often, he stayed away from big groups. He looked up watching the sky darken slowly, feeling a little lonely if he was honest with himself, so in the company of no one else but him he sang a melody, letting it fly away in the breeze. amberwynter
Mo-Ne blew smoke rings as he strode along the path. It was probably the only thing he liked about the nasty habit he had picked up in 'The Aupenheimer School For Trouble Youth,' that and the realization that he wasn't the only one out there with a messed up childhood.... among other things.... He mentally stopped himself before he could go too far into that pool of self-pity. It never got him anywhere good. He watched the smoke uncurl and form waves before drifting off into the night air. He was so distracted by it that he might have missed the sound of a beautiful melody floating on the slight breeze, had it not been his misfortune to trip over his own two feet and fall face first into a pile of raked leaves just off the path he was walking. "ah shit!!" he bellowed managing to place his hands out in front of him before receiving any damage to his face. His cigarette had been thrown out into the darkness somewhere, to far away for him to really bother at the current moment to look. Figuring since he was already covered in the browning leaves he may as well lay in them. And just as he was raising a hand up to examine the skinned palm, was when he heard the melody. It was coming ever closer with the passing moments. (@Hatorilao1)
Hatorilao1
Kyle kept singing as he walked along the path watching the night crawl its way here slowly, feeling as though he were the only one in this part of the world. Though he felt lonely he needn't have any company, feeling content to be left with his own thoughts. But at times his mind delved into memories which should stay buried and as he thought more, his melody became darker, full of mystery and hurt. Just as the melody reached the final moments, out of nowhere, flying and landing on Kyle's shoulder was a still lit cigarette "What the hell!?" he said startled, flicking it off his shoulder. amberwynter
Just as the melody reached the final moments, out of nowhere, flying and landing on Kyle's shoulder was a still lit cigarette "What the hell!?" he said startled, flicking it off his shoulder. From his spot on the ground, a few feet away, Mo-Ne snickered a little at the other boys' disgusted expression. "Sorry about that, song bird," he remarked, the comment coming out a little more snarky then he intended it to. He ran a finger along the sore section of his abused palm, wiping away a little blood. While his eyes studied his fellow night stroller. The boy's wispy hair and lanky build gave Mo-Ne the distinct impression of an artist type. He had learned how to be good at picking up certain aspects of other's personalities from the way they carried themselves. Yet another perk thanks to his experiences at Aupenheimer. As he gave the boy a complete once over, taking note of the messy way his tie hung, and the loose fit of his jacket. He had to admit, the stranger was cute in an otaku-esque sort of way. He wondered to himself what kind of vibe he must put off. His outfit mostly containing his customary dark shades of black and grey. He didn't have his numerous piercings in at the moment, mostly due to the effect the metal had on his sensitive skin when the temperatures started to take a nose dive. Hatorilao1
From the leaves on the ground came a voice which made Kyle jump suddenly, before sighing and scratching the back of his head as he took a step closer seeing who was there. In front of Kyle stood a gorgeous, tall student whose eye's seemed to search over Kyle. He got the impression this student could already tell who he was, and he shifted slightly under the others stare. Kyle studied this stranger himself, tilting his head, though he couldn't tell what sort of person this student was. The breeze got a little stronger making the tree's leaves rustle mysteriously and the brown fallen leaves on the ground swirl and twist, some floating off the ground. "Hi..." Kyle said feeling as though he should say more, but he was still off, he wanted it to be just him again.
amberwynter
Mo-Ne got the distinct feeling that this kid didn't want him around just then. But a darker, somewhat selfish side of him didn't seem to care in the moment. Even though school had been started for a little while he hadn't really had much of a chance to have a conversation with anyone, aside from his roommate, whom he was very frustrated to learn was a complete moron. He honestly wondered how the other boy had managed to pass the fourth grade let alone get into college. Pulled from his thought of his idiotic roommate, Mo-Ne suddenly felt like the silence was too thick and opted to say the first thing that came to his mind. "so -uh- Where ya headed?" He managed to spit out, though regretted it as soon as he spoke. 'yeah nice going stupid! You don't even know this guy, he's gonna think you're some kind of freak or something. 'where ya headed?' pssh .... great. dumbass' He hoped that his thoughts weren't reflected on his face. As he attempted to look cool and aloof, waiting for the guy to reply. Hatorilao1
Kyle stood awkwardly as the Silence began to thicken 'I should say something...' he thought weakly, but he didn't act on it, he just wanted to be left alone. Pulled from his thought he blinked as the other was the first to say something "Where am i headed?" he repeated the question feeling slightly confused at first but he broke into a slight grin 'Way to start a conversation' he thought "Any where away from big groups" he replied honestly looking up at the other who emotions he could see clearly though this guy seemed to act cool despite his weird way of starting the conversation. Kyle felt slightly refreshed by this and he didn't feel as awkward as he did a moment ago as he looked up at the other. The night was colder and floating on the wind was laughter from other students who where being to loud. Kyle stuck his hands in his Jacket pockets the small grin on his face still. amberwynter
Mo-Ne grinned. "I know the feeling." Suddenly he wanted to know more about this stranger. Almost as if it had just occurred to him how lonely he'd been since the beginning of the semester. He held his hand out in an offering gesture that said 'you go first' before he actually spoke, then added "Mind if I join you for the walk?" then realizing he'd never actually told the boy his name he spoke again, "I'm Mo-Ne by the way..." Hatorilao1
Kyle's tiny grin stayed where it was "I'm Kyle" he replied then shrugged "I don't mind" Kyle watched Mo-Ne for a moment then turned away from where he could hear the loud group of other students "Lets go this way" he said quietly, almost to himself, he wasn't used to have people accompany him but Kyle didn't mind having Mo-Ne join him, he was quite curious despite himself, he wanted to get to know this student a little better. Kyle breathed in the cold night air around him as he walked along the path, turning left to a small deserted clearing of soft grass that over looked the large city that lay beyond the school gates. Hatorilao1
Kyle awkwardly stuck out his hand "Well...it's nice to meet you, and i don't mind" he didn't really want any company but he shrugged it off, listening to the loud group over to his left. He turned "Lets go this way" he said quietly as he started down the path towards his right, walking silently listening to the breeze in the trees. Kyle took in a deep breath, the cold air feeling refreshing and he smiled as he rounded the corner. Kyle slowed and stood looking out at a clearing that overlooked the large city that lay beyond the school gates.
amberwynter
Mo Ne followed not too closely behind Kyle, and when the other boy stopped so did he. With the sun finally down, the city took on a glow all it's own; bustling with night life. The cool night air burned slightly as it entered his lungs. "It's nights like this that I wonder what my family is doing back home" Mo Ne remarked rather bitterly. The only family he had was his obnoxiously rich aunt who lived in the gated community on the other side of the city. Thankfully since the woman was rolling in more money then God she didn't seem to care all that much when he needed any. His aunt also had a set of twins; a boy and girl. The girl, Min-Ju wasn't half bad but her brother.... that was a different story altogether. Mo Ne found himself gazing at Kyle from the corner of his eye. "Do you live in the city?" he asked before he could stop his lips from moving.
