Fai couldn't help but chuckle. "It's a key to a lockbox. I put my important things in there. Birth certificate, ID, spare change and such. I noticed the rain and you could imagine what it would have looked like if I had it within my pocket that night. Anyway, if the key isn't in my pocket then I'm at a lost. The only place it could be I do not wish to go retrieve it." he said as he walked down the hall. "So let's hope its in my pocket." he said really hoping it was there. Though it would have fallen out at some point between when he took the clothes off and when Damien put them within the basket to be washed. Even so, Fai wasn't thinking to such extent.

"You mean this?" he fished out something inside his pocket. "This key. Mrs. Rowan gave this to me when she found this in your clothes pockets this morning." he smiled and gave it to him. "So this key will let me know more about you, huh?" Damien put his hands back inside his pockets. "And where may this lock box be?"

Fai smiled as he saw the key. This made him feel so much more relaxed. "Thank you Damien. This makes thing so much easier than you can ever imagine." he said happily. He held the key within his hand before glancing at him. "It's across town actually. You don't have to come if you don't wish to. I'll go on my own. I did walk from there to here so it's not an issue. Plus today isn't raining." he said really hoping it didn't rain again. Fai turned and started to walk down the hall. He wasn't sure if Damien would tag along. Though it would be nice to have someone to talk to while going.

Damien grinned following the other. "I don't mind walking, but you said it's across the town. Why don't we use my bike?" he suggested as the two went out the door, the taller male pointing at the bike leaning against the wall. "Then after we take your box, let's grab something to eat while we're out. I want to have something sweet. Do you like sweets?"

Fai smiled as he looked at him. "A bike sounds quick but I never learned how to ride a bike. It's okay to laugh but my mother didn't let me stray from my lessons. No fun when molding the perfect child." he said softly. He glanced at the bike as they stood outside. "That sounds nice. I do enjoy sweets. It's actually one of my favorite things to put a smile upon my face." he chuckled a bit.

"No worries. I'll take on the wheels." He unchained the bike and straddled it, lifting a metal bar that makes-shift as a seat behind him. "Looks like it's going to have its very first passenger right here." he said, tapping the metal platform securing if it's locked in place. He reached his hands to Fai and grinned. "Let's go. Just make sure to hold on to me tight."

Fai looked at the bike as Damien prepared it. His gaze drifting up at the sky before he nods a bit. He slowly got aboard and held onto the other. "Do you know where Shinjuku station is? If so then head there. The place I was at isn't far from there and I can get my lockbox." he said. He wasn't sure if this would be an easy in and out operation. He really hoped so. For now he would focus on not falling off the bike. As much as he trust Damien he didn't trust the bike.

Damien pulled Fai's hands close, making them clasp together before heading off. "Yeah I know where it is. Is that the place where you used to live?" he asked, keeping his eyes forward, pedaling steadily. He didn't notice a bump on the road that they swerved and almost fell but Damien got to maneuver quickly. "Whoa! That was close!" he giggled.

"No it's not and yet it is. It's complicated but I've been living with someone for a month. Feeling uncomfortable there I made my way to your place. It's been two months since my mother passed so yeah things aren't the best right now. I left my lockbox there but I want to avoid the person living there as much as possible." he said frowning a bit. Though the frown faded with a bit of panic. Fai gripped Damien a bit tighter. "Don't drop me alright."

The rave haired male laughed out, liking how the other had reacted. "My bad, my bad! I won't let you fall." he smiled, noting the other's hands clasped together around his waist. "So, this person... They're not treating you well? That's why you wanted to avoid them?" He went slower as they turned at a corner before speeding up slightly, approaching the town's bus stop and gets past it.

Fai got a bit silent. "I am not sure how to answer that. He's a nice person and a great tutor. Though it felt like he kept tossing advances at me. I have never focused on such a thing like dating but I am sure that's what it was. Honestly I really hope I wasn't wrong." he said averting his gaze. Fai started to think maybe he had overthought this situation and ran away for no reason. Even so, Damien was with him now. Plus he was accepted into his family. His mind conflicted now.

Damien was quiet upon hearing this. "Tutor, huh?" he whispered, turning to the next street before passing the station. "We're at Shinjuku station now." he stopped, leaning to the side, using his left foot as support. He looked around and sighed glancing at Fai over his shoulders. "So? Where's the place you're talking about?"

Fai slowly looked around before getting off the bike. "Come follow me. It's easy to walk to from here. He said walking towards a side street. There were a few apartment housings there. Slowly walking towards one, Fai climbed the stairs. He stopped in front of the first door at the top of the stairs. He seriously didn't want to knock. Though he needed the lockbox with his things inside. His gaze drifting towards Damien.

Damien nodded, rolling the bike with them as they walked. The neighborhood was quiet, probably due to the time of the day. It was nearly dusk when they arrived there. Looking ahead, he saw the two-floor apartment. A bit shabby than a normal apartment housing but still livable. Leaving the bike at the bottom of the stair's flight, Damien followed Fai upstairs and stood next to him as soon as they arrived at a certain door. "I wonder if he's home." he muttered, looking around the place.

Fai shook his head. "I have no idea. He doesn't actually live here. Its just a place he got so I would be closer to school. This guy is very odd but I am still completely confused by him." he said slowly reaching his hand to feel above the door frame. He smiled finding a key up there. It was the spare which was only there when no one was home. Fai felt at ease now as he unlocked the door. He slowly opened the door and enters. "It seems no one is home. Lets get this and get out." he said seriously. Though to much surprise someone was inside. A male walked out of a door, clearly the bathroom as he was in only a towel. His gaze upon Fai. "You came back! I was worried sick about you. Where have you been?" he said sounding honestly concerned. Fai glanced to the side. "I stayed at a friends place. Anyway I just came for my lock box." he said softly. The male glanced over at Damien. "Hello there. Why don't you stay for a minute and I'll make some tea. I'm sure it was tiring to get here." he said going into another room to get dressed.

"Oh, I see. I'm coming in then." he said, staying at the entrance, waiting for Fai. Damien was startled when a guy popped out from what seems to be the bathroom who is half-naked and is covered only in a towel. He averted his eyes for a bit but took it back and just focused on the male's face. "I-I'm Damien. I just came here with Fai to get his lock box. He seems to be in a hurry to even have tea so, I'm sorry." Clearly, this meeting made Fai uncomfortable so he just had to pull him out as soon as possible. He didn't know how this man treated his brother that made Fai so uncomfortable seeing him so he had to watch out.

Fai looked about before finding the lock box. He picked it up and was heading for the door but got cut off by the blonde male. The man properly dressed now. "I am serious Fai. Stay for some tea. It not safe for you to be running the streets at this hour. Besides, I am your current guardian until you graduate for college." he said. Fai grit his teeth a bit. "Fine but only one cup and then we have to leave." he said averting his gaze. The man turned to Damien. "Please come in and have a seat. My name is Nijima Sakamoto by the way." he said politely to him.

Damien raised a brow. The male talks to Fai like that as if he wasn't there to look after him. And his 'guardian'? He wanted to butt in and state that he is his brother, his legal brother and he'll be taken care of... but he didn't say anything. He lowered his head, thinking this is the person who took care of his little brother while he was on his own, so at least, he should state his gratitude. He looked at Fai who agreed to have some tea so he just followed the younger male, taking his shoes off before stepping inside further. "Thank you for having us." he said, eyeing the seemingly older male. By the looks of it, this man has his eyes on Fai. He could tell on how he looks at him with so much affection. Damien thought he should at least let the other know who he is and what's his relationship with Fai. "My name is Damien Cross. I am Fai's half brother. I'd like to express my gratitude for taking care of my brother up to this day." his tone was formal and polite. "I would like you to know that he will be taken good care of from now on in our household. I want to thank you for your generosity towards my brother." sharp eyes looked straight towards Nijima.

Nijima looked at Damien. The seemed a bit confused by this. "Brother you say..? That's odd as his mother said he had no other family." he said as he prepared the tea. Fai was silent as he sat upon the sofa. He looked at Damien and motioned for him to sit beside him. "Don't look so surprised by this. After that encounter she never talked about your family with anyone. So before she passed I was to stay here until I graduate." he said softly. He really wanted to leave before things got too difficult. Nijima walked over to them placing two tea cups before them. "So, your his half brother. Why come into his life now? Fai is doing quite well in school so to transfer would be a hassle. Plus you barely look old enough to care for yourself let alone Fai. How do you plan to do all of this?" he asked Damien. Fai looked at him. "I don't plan to quit the school I am in. Same why I got here today I will get to school. Also, my living expenses will be taken care of by myself. I worked to pay off my mother's debts and I can still do so to support myself. I am old enough to know what's best for me." he said not wanting Damien to mention anything about his lifestyle. Nijima crossed his arms a bit.

Damien sighed, sitting next to Fai but then he was bombarded by such questions, more likely, the older man is doubting his capability to take care of his brother. He was about to answer back, but Fai took the chance to speak for himself. Work for a living? No, I can take care of my brother well, better than this kind of living. Although those words didn't slip off his lips as he tries not to mock the other's way of tending himself. He looked down as his hands rests on his knee, clenching some fabric from how the older male somehow mocked him with all these questions. "Fai came to us one evening and my father took him in for good. He will be well off living with us. School is not a problem too..."

Nijima clicked his tongue a bit as he looked at the two. "I guess you figured things out huh. As long as you attend school I suppose it's fine. For now anyway." he said. Fai stood up and looked to Damien. "Let's get going now. I don't want to get back late. Thank you for everything Mr.Sakamoto. I'll be back in school upon the first of next month. So in about five days." he said leaving towards the door. Fai made sure the man didn't follow which he didn't. Once outside he sighs while walking down the stairs. He stood beside the bike and looked at Damien. "Let's go home please. I want to get far from here."

Damien bowed a bit at the older male before taking their leave. He took the bike on his hand before looking at Fai with a frown on his face. "You don't seem to be in good terms with that man. The looks on your face shows it." he said softly. He straddled his bike before holding his hand out to him. "Let's go? Mom and Dad will start to worry. I didn't tell them about this errand so they'll probably look for us soon."

Fai nods as he took hold of Damien's hand. "Alright let's go back. I'll feel better once we aren't here anymore." he said softly. His gaze drifting back a bit as he saw Nijima glaring from a window. He hopes this is the last time he'll interact with the male. Though he was sure it wouldn't be. As he got back upon the bike and held the box in hand, Fai closed his eyes a bit. "Thanks for coming with me. I wasn't sure is he able to do this alone." he said to Damien. "Your going to be a wonderful big brother. I'm glad."

He smiled gently, patting the other's hand before going off, carefully taking the route back home as it becomes darker. The street lights began to flicker back to life as well as the stores' signages along the busy streets of Shinjuku. They passed by a store that sells crunchy pork-stuffed bread and Damien put to a halt before backing a bit. His eyes widened as he looked at the golden saucers being deep fried and drained from the grease. "Looks yummy! Fai, you want one? It's a long ride back home and i'm starving." he grinned while fishing for some money in his pockets.

it would look like this... =P~

Fai was completely zoning out. He didn't even realized they had stopped. The sound of some change snapped him to. "Oh it's fine. We did say we'd stop for a bite to eat after all. So let's get some." he said. He might have been zoned out but his listening was perfect. He often did this in class. Daydreaming while still fully aware of the lesson at hand. It prevented him from getting into trouble since it always seemed as though he was paying full attention. Even if he actually wasn't. Fai looked at Damien a little. "These must be something you really like, right." he asked.

they look delicious :)
