The Hogwarts express let out a whistel, as the last of few students had rushed on, in fear they would miss the chance to board the legendary train. Ophelic, who was one of the first to find his seat, sat closest to the window. He was alone, which was calming to the blond. Ophelic had his book out, his blue eyes darting from, one side of the page to the other quickly. The book he was reading was a muggle classic tilted, The Picture of Dorian Grey. Muggle or not, Ophelic read what ever his hands coup get a hold on.

He felt the train give a slight jerk, as it began to move... but, it didn't faze him at all. The only thing going that really bothered the blondes reading was the excitement he felt for another year at Hogwarts. Though Ophelic had no friends, which didn't bother him in the slightest, he felt the old school to be the coolest place in the world... mostly for the history that it has hidden in its walls.

"Oh sassafras~" Willow mumbled, in her breathy sing-song voice, to no one in particular. Though she and her brother had boarded together on platform 9 3/4 they had somehow managed to get separated in all the commotion of the other students. She wasn't particularly worried but she knew how over-protective Elsha could be of her. The two of them may have been living in separate houses for the past two years at Hogworts but her twin still hadn't gotten used to the idea that she couldn't be under his thumb every second. Part of her wondered how he hadn't managed to develop some sort of sickness from worry. As she lightly flitted into another train car she noticed a boy seated alone reading a book and decided to join him. She was ever so tired from the days' troublesome journey, and the real stresses and excitements of the day had barely just begun. She took her seat gingerly and smiled in the direction of the other passenger, though he had his nose buried in the book. The blond seated across from her seemed to be deeply absorbed in the book, or if not at least in thought and despite herself she leaned forward slightly to catch a glimpse of the title. Though she vaguely recognized the name, she hadn't the foggiest idea who this Dorian Grey woman was.

Even amidst the loud, constant chatter of teenagers filling the rows of compartments on the Hogwarts Express, the ominous sound of footsteps clicking against the carpeted floor were still able to be heard. Though the talk did not die out completely, the volume lowered as a tall, slender young man made his way down the aisle. His long, pure white hair swung from side to side behind him as he walked, not a single hair out of place in the braid. Other passengers averted their eyes when his icy blue gaze swept over them. He held himself with confidence, and despite his pale skin and feminine figure, very few looked at him with any expression other than fear or awe. Almost everyone at Hogwarts knew of Arai Roka, and if they didn't, they would soon enough. He had a reputation at the school, one that was positive for some and negative for most.

The expressionless young man swiftly moved past Willow and Ophelic, his destination the back of the train. He stopped at the very end of the aisle and opened the very last door on the left. The small girl inside quickly scrambled out of the compartment, leaving the Japanese teenager alone. He raised a slim eyebrow after her, then sat with his back straight and his hands in his lap. With his legs crossed at the knee, he gazed out the window, watching the people go by as he waited for the train to start.

Seated restlessly among the masses of teenagers eager to attend the renowned witchcraft and wizarding school of Hogwarts – either for their first year or simply going back for another term was a brunette who couldn’t seem to sit still. The constant twitching of his left foot making the sole companion in his otherwise empty compartment put down her book with the words “Cures and Counter-cures for dummies” sprawled neatly across the book’s spine.

“Would you calm down? The cart’ll be by soon enough, Euan.” The brunette, Euan, simply moaned. His face twisting up horribly as he glanced lazily at the girl staring smartly at him. “But I’m hungry now. Famished really. All that old drunk has at his house are a jar of olives stuffed in the back of the fringe with the start of penicillin on them, K.” K laughed humorlessly, raising the book back to her face till the only thing that could be seen of the young girl were the black bangs falling neatly across her square forehead.

“Right, because chocolate frogs and cauldron cakes are the best cure for hunger – by the time we get to the feast you’ll be complaining about a stomachache, and want’ll ditch the whole thing to lay down in your bed. You do this every year. A little change wouldn’t hurt.” K’s voice was muted by the rattling of the train as it propelled down the tracks at an insane speed, but Euan still made out the exasperated mutters over the loud noise – a secret smile stealing across his haggard face.

“Yeah, darling – but what’s a legendary school like Hogwarts without my own ill-advised tradition or two?”

The black haired girl simply rolled her eyes;

“Better off – at least without yours.”

Elsha wondered from car to car, almost desperately searching for his twin. Though between the two of them, he was technically the youngest, he still didn't feel comfortable leaving her on her own. Her spacey nature always worried him. Ever since they were very small Willow had a bad habit of getting herself into trouble. Such as the time that she’d accidentally “become acquainted” with an angry mountain troll when they were seven; nevermind the near death experience-- their father had reamed the both of them for that incident. Last year he’d considered casting some sort of locator spell so that he’d always know her whereabouts but she insisted that she preferred her freedom; despite the fact that it practically gave her brother an aneurysm. Elsha grew more and more anxious as he searched each car, sliding doors open and then closed as he went. He’d managed to receive some pretty nasty glares from some of the other students aboard the train; as well as a few knowing nods from those he knew. He didn't care what any of them thought in the end. As he reached yet another set of doors, he slid it open only to stumble upon Euan Murray and K. Elsha narrowed his eyes. He knew Euan vaguely, mostly through rumors of the strange muggle-born upperclassman who’d almost been a member of Slytherin. As for the girl, K, he didn't know her well at all but she always gave him the creeps. “Aye,” he snapped, rather rudely –mostly out of exasperation at his situation then animosity toward the two, “either of you seen Willow?” He ran a hand through his lavender tresses in frustration. He swore to himself he was going to chain her to him once he found her.
