Appearance: Despite his immortality he appears very young even for human standards and seems to be in his twenties. He has soft features, full lips and jade green eyes that can easily become grim and aid him in expressing anger or a foul mood. His hair is a dark shade of brown that borders black and is lightly curled. With more than 180 cm (5'10") of height he is somewhat taller than the majority of men. Despite his extensively muscled sturdy build he does not appear massive or bulky and would better be described as lean. His skin is moderately tanned.

Most of his clothing is dark in color and there are a few characteristic outfits that he can often be seen wearing. A black long sleeved shirt covered by a button up west with a high collar, black pants, boots and a number of belts wrapper around his waist one of which has a large detailed buckle are the elements of his everyday outfit. When at work with his books and mechanisms he often seems disorderly, wearing less layers of clothing with more of his skin exposed, leaving his hair in a mess.

Personality: He does not measure himself or other in classical values. By his standards many things that are frowned upon in society are acceptable but even despite this he has a strong dislike of pointless destructive behavior.

Granting himself comfort and pleasure is one of his primary interests. Though he does not intend to do harm to others he will not make things difficult for himself in order to spare someone. Such a thing would resemble martyrdom in his eyes and self pity and endurance for the sake of attention or reward are things that he is very irritated by.

He has a taste for luxurious things and does not limit himself when acquiring them. Sometimes he will put effort into gaining something only to soon realize that it is not as important to him as he had first thought, however this is just an aspect of his whimsical nature.

He is an intellectual but does not care much for things such as culture or art, what fascinates him are laws on nature and also warfare, historical conflicts. It is not unusual for him to invest much of his time and attention into odd project and studies. Interaction with humans and understanding of others feelings and his own is something he is not good with. This is largely due to his preference to avoid communication and tendency to isolate himself.

For the previous week a constant layer of thick gray clouds had gathered over the city and a light rain started and stopped without warning. That morning, Norton was very sure the weather would stay unchanged but as the day progressed the sky began to clear up. Though he preferred a darker atmosphere over London he was very glad to see the sunshine and increase in temperature that would quickly dry up all of the water that had accumulated from the rain.

At that time his study room had taken on the function of living quarters. It often did when he was obsessed with a certain subject. The chamber was large and spanned two floors. The upper was connected to the lower by a discrete staircase and dominated by books which almost completely covered the four walls. The lower also contained a few bookshelves but had space for the mechanisms he was putting together as well. There were no windows in the entirety of the chamber, instead Norton followed the changing climate through a skylight. He had a good view of it from the center of the room where all of the furniture it contained was located.

After nearly a month of looking into a interesting thematic an acquaintance of his had only mentioned, he was finally starting to lose momentum and become tempted to come outside. It was already evening when he found an excuse to leave his manor and wander through the city. He had searched for a certain object and was told he could find it in only a number of places. Before he could acquire it he was distracted by another project and forgot all about it up to that point.

Eager to be outside before it becomes completely dark he didn't bother changing from the clothing he had been wearing for days already. Instead he only put on a coat that did well to make him seem more massive than he naturally was and partially masked his identity. While he passed through the streets he noted that they were already becoming empty with the approach of night. Maybe he wouldn't be able to make it far before everyone was gone and all the shops closed but waiting until sunrise to finish his tasks was for some reason a pleasant though to him.

There was an idea that had crossed his mind a while ago, though it was risky Norton was beginning to think of it more often and more seriously. With people around him, it surfaced once again.

A long, drawn-out sigh seemed to echo throughout the nearly empty neighborhood, the tone carrying with it a frustrated message. Shamus had spent the entirety of the day wandering the wet, uneven streets in an attempt to find his friend's home, and he was still far from his destination. London's paths were winding and confusing, much more complicated than the relative openness of Ireland that the young man was accustomed to. The map in his right hand was useless with its native terminology, and the suitcase in his left hand was only serving to weigh him down. Despite being a rather calm and rational sort of man, Shay's temper was flaring due to his annoyance, and the feeling was bringing on a migraine, which was the last thing he needed.

"I've been down this street three times already!" he mumbled to himself as he stood at the corner of one of the streets, his back to the brick buildings behind him. He was squinting down at the map he held in front of him with both hands, the suitcase on the ground by his feet. It was extremely dark, and the stars were blotted out by smoke and other gases. The lamp-post in front of him was flickering as well, giving him only minimal light. The whole world is against me, he thought, realizing that he had indeed passed by the small cafe across the street several times. "Why is this so complicated?" he complained, pulling his black hat down lower over his ears as a chilly gust of wind blew towards him.

Even though the rain had let up earlier that day, everything outside was still wet and the air held the frigidness of autumn. The consistent wind only served to make the young Irishman shiver even more. Grumbling, he shoved the map into his coat pocket and pulled up the collar, his body shuddering once before he picked up his suitcase again. Leon will kill me when I get there, he hates it when people are late. With the thought of his approaching demise in mind--not to mention how late he would be to work the next day--he started to hurry down the streets, hoping to find a landmark he could use to find his location.
