SakeBee
A nurse tapped Naoki on the shoulder with a gentle smile, "Doctor Wakahisa. I know you agreed to stay after, but it's already eight PM. If you go pick Eiri up at ten o'clock again, the daycare ladies are going to be cross with you." Naoki gave her a sheepish smile and nodded at her. Finishing his files and then handing them to the nurse to go pick Eiri up from daycare. Eiri was always such a good boy and so understanding that Naoki had to work a lot. Naoki always felt bad, but he had to make a living for them and help children. But he was always sure to make it up to Eiri. Whether through a special dinner, or a new toy, or even stopping to get ice cream on the way home. Naoki went to his bicycle and made sure the child-seat was still securely attached to the back before peddling off to the daycare to pick Eiri up. It took him about twenty minutes to get their from the hospital, and another twenty to get from the daycare to his apartment building. The first twenty minutes, the twenty without Eiri were spent in silence. Furiously peddling. The twenty with Eiri were spent talking about what he had planned to make them for dinner. He carried the small boy into the apartment building and up the steps, listening and replying as the boy animatedly talked about his day and what he had made at Daycare. Naoki chuckled softly, nodding his head as Eiri asked, "Are we really going to have home-made chicken noodles and mashed potatoes, daddy?" He nodded his head, giving his child a sweet kiss on the forehead as his eyes glanced over a box sitting outside the apartment next to his. No one had been living there, had they? His answer came in the form of the landlord telling him about a new tennant. A man who, as far as the landlord could tell, seemed to be alone? Then again, the landlord's information was not always reliable. But still, he'd have to be sure to be a good neighbor. It was hard moving to a new place. Naoki unlocked his door and went in, the chicken noodles were simmering on low on the stove. Naoki had started making them in the morning, came back home during his lunch period to continue the cooking process, and now all he needed to do was make the mashed potatoes which did not take long at all. Naoki and Eiri ate their dinner, with the same kind of animated, cheerful talking going on. Until Naoki made Eiri brush his teeth, put on his pyjamas and go to bed that was. After tucking Eiri in and giving him a kiss goodnight, Naoki went to wash the dishes, but paused as he looked at the leftover. He glanced at the clock, reading 10:15 PM and back to the leftovers before he put them into two tupperware bowls with lids and left the apartment, to go gently knock on the door next to his to see if the new neighbor had moved in yet, "Hello?" azuneko
Glancing out of a car window, Lowell could see the apartment complex he'd soon be living at. His previous place of living was no longer someplace he could consider worth staying at. Thus moving was his natural option. It wasn't anything new for him since he often moved when things became too complicated or difficult to deal with. As the moving truck stopped his only thought was getting and unpacking. He knew he'd spend most of the day cleaning and unpacking but that was alright for him. Once all his boxes were out of the truck; Lowell watched it drive off. He then made his way to the apartment door. He glanced to the side of him noticing another door. This meant he had a neighbor or maybe not. He honestly disliked the idea but it couldn't be helped now. Ignoring this for the moment his top priority was to clean. He spent just abou all day cleaning the apartment until it was spotless. He then unpacked each box slowly and carefully. He was one who had a serious case of OCD but did his best to hide it at times. Lowell had lost complete track of time as he was working on his room. As he folded the empty boxes he noticed one was missing. Getting up to find it he heard a knock upon the door. He wonders who it could be so late at night. Slowly opening the door Lowell peeks outside. "Uh, hello there. How may I help you sir?" he asked in a calm tone. He made sure how to open the door too wide as to prevent the outside air inside his now clean apartment room.
SakeBee
When the other man opened the door, Naoki gave a soft smile. The other man didn't fully open the door -not that Naoki could blame him. Just moving here, the other wouldn't know what kind of neighborhood this was. Honestly, Naoki had been a bit wary when he had first moved here so many years ago as well. But overtime he had gotten use to the place, the people that had came and left, the people that had stayed, and the rather unusual landlord. Naoki chuckled, sweetly, holding up the tupperware bowls. He glanced down to the box at his feet, the man must have forgotten this one out, "Apologies for intruding on you so late, but..." He gestured to the box down at his feet, "I thought maybe you had still been unpacking because of that being there when I got home and it isn't good for your body to go without food for so long. It's not much, just leftover Chicken Noodles and Mashed Potatoes from Eiri and I's dinner, but I thought you might be hungry?" The man tilted his head, tentatively. He blinked once, remembering he hadn't quite gone about that right. He had forgotten the most important part of introductions -the introducing part. 'Eiri and I' was hardly a way for the man to know who his new neighbors were, "Eiri is my son, and my name is Naoki. I live right next door, so if you need anything and we're home, don't hesitate to come knock," what else, what else, "Oh, and the landlady is a bit unusual, but she's sweet. Though, you may end up with rumours of being 'the nice young man who moved in with an alien and your alien-love child.' She's not all there most of the time." azuneko
Lowell stares through the crack of the door silently listening to the other. It seemed he was living beside a single parent home. That didn't seem too bad so long as he didn't have to run into the child at any point. He wasn't very good with children though it wasn't completely true. "It's nice to meet you. My name is Lowell. I appreciate your offer but I'll eat something once I've finished. I do appreciate the offer but I can't accept that." he said frowning a bit. He didn't wish to sound rude in anyway. He was sure the male was just being polite. Averting his gaze he clears his throat a bit. "I have a serious case of OCD and if it's not something I've used before I have a tough time using things from others. I don't wish to reject your kind offer as that meal does sound rather delicious. It's just.... I deeply apologize." he said giving a small bow of his head. Lowell honestly hopes that Naoki would understand. He had moved about so much because of misunderstandings. He honestly wish not to have that problem here as well.
