E.r.o.s
[Just Another Christmas Night] Children singing merry songs Women walking with their sons Everybody in happy spirits As they buy presents to the people they love Glancing out the window I see Happy faces as they talk Of how wonderful a time Christmas is And I feel a tint of jealousy Family bath in warm affection As they all sit on the huge round table Finally after a long year of separation That's how it's suppose to be Children running around the tree Waiting till midnight to open their gifts But what about those of us Whose Christmas is but a dream Full of memories and pain And hope for things that will never be What about for those of us Who watch from afar People decorating houses and making plans What about for those of us Whose heart twist at the mere sight Of watching couples in love making promises that might not last What about those of us Whose Christmas is but a mere reminder That yet another year have passed In company of an empty bottle and empty house. My only consolation is watching snow fall down It reminds me of how pure was the thing that I once had And at least that sole memory Is enough to last me Just another Christmas night.
