"Tears"

 

The taste of it was so salty

Just like the aftertaste of a good night

Just like the smile you fake everyday

When u pretend that everything is fine.

 

It touched my lips gently and vanished

But its caress still lingered there

Like the memories I hold precious

That continue to exist in my mind

Even after everyone is gone.

 

It was heartbreaking to watch it fall

Slowly and with no rush

Almost tempting me to wipe it off

Like all the people who come and go in my life

Passing by with the luxury of time

Breaking down my walls

And then leaving me vulnerable behind

To pick up the pieces of my broken mind

Always one piece less to collect.

 

One of it is enough to last for life

One of it brings a million more after

Because once is not enough

Neither is a lifetime

Or the life after

Because pain and pleasure hang out often

One always bringing the other to play together.

 

I have never tasted something quite as unique

It was filled with grief and love

With pain and pleasure

With possessiveness and friendship

It was so rich in its complexity

That for the first time in my life

I couldn't tell whether I was glad or sad.

 

Tears are such fragile things

Like the relationships between people

So easily broken

And impossible to fix

 

There is so much to say about tears

Such an insignificant thing

That makes me wonder

What is there to say about everything else?
