It took most of the five minutes for Sora to work out the details of the unfolding plot right before his eyes. In the process, he should be separated from reality and fiction, yet, fiction was reality to him. He looked over at the other. Kaoru, a major thorn in his eyes, would assume the duties of taking out the other..Sei. With luck and careful planning maybe the male could isolate, interrogate the mutant vampire and get Sei out of it?

 

Sora continued looking at the other while beads of sweat continued down his face. The two enemies stood across from one another enveloped in a somber, tranquil, yet eerie silence.

 

“Sired? What do you mean?”

Sora hissed.

Kaoru couldn't help but to laugh uncontrollably, “You've got to be kidding, you had vampire blood in you when you died and my blood brought you back to life.” The mutant vampire sighed, “It now means you’re my minion. Though, I did not anticipate your stubbornness canceling out the sire. Unless-”

 

"Unless..?"

From the younger male’s point of view, the day had been a whirlwind of a mess. Thanks to the voices in his head and mild incompetence, he now was face to face with his mortal enemy. This time he knew that his mutant lover was long gone, maybe even possibly forgotten him by now and who wouldn't? After breaking up with the male and stashing his own throat, he was now in deep water. If he remembers correctly, dying with vampire blood him your system meant you become one, the male bickered at his conscious.

 

If his hypothesis was even or remotely close to being true, how does one prove it? Sighed.

 

Sora eyed the other in the room, laughter that penetrated his eardrum on a note that was off the scale. A laugh that was hearty and yet self-serving in every aspect, but the male couldn't help but to think about his lover. For him the pain of losing the other became unbearable, but Sora had little doubt that the remark about having the elder beholden to him was serious. After all it was because of him that Sei was no longer safe.

 

“Tell me what’s the real reason for bringing me back to life!”

Sei heard the laughter, anger boiling in his vains from the familiar sound. What was going on? The mutant was deep in tought as he slowly made it to the room. There were so many possibilities of what Kaoru did to Sora. But there was only one that made sense: he changed the younger male. His love wasn't human anymore. But, how exactly was he not human? Was he a mutant now? And if so, what kind? To him, it couldn't be that dangerous. Considering all the extremely deadly experiments happened to him and were immediately disposed of so no one cam steal such powerful serums.

 

'Everything is going to hell now,' he thought. He was actually surprised that he was able to have some sane thoughts.

 

Shaking himself, he came into the room. A foul smell coming to his nose, one that he usually smelled on Kaoru. But instead, it was intensified. Fuck , it was horrible. The beast growled in annoyance as he looked at the two males in the room. Instantly training his eyes on his brother as he came closer into the room like a man on a mission. Though the closer he got, the more the smell got to him. Something was off about it. It scent was unbearable; Kaoru's scent and death mixing together along with another. Then, that's whn realization hit him like a train. It had to be a mistake, right?

 

"What did you do to Sora?" Sei growled at the man, who looked over at him. At first, with surprise. Until he started to slowly grin. "Oh good," Kaoru said in a cheerful voice. "You're just in time, senpai."

 

"Answer my question!" This time, the mutant roared.

The mutant vampire stalked forward, taking a look at the green mutant and the words that were spewed forward still dancing around his ears. "Answer my question!" Sei shouted to Kaoru.

 

"Hah!!! Answer your question?" Kaoru laughed, "Shouldn't you thank me," hissed the male, as he waits for the other's response. "I mean, your beloved Sora did try to take his life and I got there in the nick of time. He's standing there right before your eyes, because of me."

 

Sora didn't know what to say. He was frozen like a block of ice. It was like every ounce of energy zapped out of him like a used up battery cell. The male was at utter loss of words. Sure, it was by some miracle that the other brought him back to life and it was also by some unseen force that kept pulling him further away from his lover. He couldn't win either way. The male was torn. It was an awful experience all together to watch and listen as Kaoru spoke. The main focus should be on Sei, not on him, but at the rate it was going, Kaoru shined that stage light right on him and he intended to destroy the elder. Yet the male couldn't, didn't know where to make things right. Sei was his everything and he would give up his own life to save the other.

 

By the time he had an inkling of an urge to try to walk over to the elder male, to make things right, the male couldn't. The sire was strong, strong enough to withheld him from walking forward. You can describe it as some invisible marionette's string that pulled him back.

 

"Sei. I-," before the male could finish, he was pulled to the ground, hands grappling his head.

 

"Kill him!"

Echoing, like wind chimes in his head.

The beast was pissed, the man had the audacity to tell him that he should be grateful. Was he happy when Sora woke up? The answer should b obvious. But he didn't want it this way, didn't want the younger male to have something like this in his blood. If Kaoru was already uncontrollable as it is, he was sure the other would be a lot worse.

 

"'Thank you'"? And why should i?! You turned him into some...some..," he couldn't even bring himself to finish the sentence. To say what Sora was now. It wasn't out of disgust, he wasn't hypocritical to such an extent. It's just that he never wanted the one he loves to know about this to begin with.

 

And nit only did it get into their lives, bringing up buried secrets and reopening old mended wounds, it tore them apart. Pushing Sora to hate him, to leave him. Both in a relationship sense, and suicidal sense. And now here his brother- no, he refuses to even acknowledge a fact that he didn't know about till this very day, this vampiric mutant who made the younger male into one of them. A mutant. A monster. Sei never expected, or wanted, for this to happen to Sora. All of this was so suppose to die in that goddamn fire along with some doctors and all experiments. He should be happy that the other was alive, and he was. But he didn't want it to happen like this.

 

The beast was fuming at this point, ready to strike the man in front of him. When he heard that same voice that always made his heart skip a beat. Make him feel like he wasn't completely gone yet. He turned his head to see Sora gripping his head, as if in pain, when he didn't finish his sentence.

 

He snapped his attention back at Kaoru. Roaring, claws out. So this was his plan. To have the one he loves kill him in cold blood. It sounded like a cliche William Shakespeare would write. Yet here he was, living it.

Kaoru tapped his fingers together and worked through the idea that had taken root in his mind. He flashed a grin. "I have a better idea Sei. An idea that you can't decline, an idea to sort out all of this, and an offer you can't refuse," chuckling the vampiric mutant, "Pardon me for my skepticism in my words, but I've seen you at your worst and I've certainly seen you at your best, ditch the bastard and come to me. I will be a better lover than he'll ever be. Then, I'll painlessly sever the sire, setting him free."

 

Kaoru grinned as he continued, "But freedom comes with a cost. Do you want to set Sora free? Free of this pain? This misery?" The vampiric mutant pausing and looking back at the younger male. "If I sever the sire, Sora dies. If he stays with me, I'll certainly make his life a living hell with no means of escape."

 

 

Karou smirked as he looked back up at the elder male. There was no window to escape the cage that he had set up for the other and if so he wishes, killing him meant Sora dies as well. After all, the sired that linked him to the male was a blood bond. No matter how you look at it, Sei was screwed. He would lose the other no matter what, but the mode of loosing the other was different, one was painful and the other wasn't.

 

Kaoru had discerned from his own selfish desires, but he didn't care. He wanted the elder at all cost.

 

"I'll give you exactly 24 hours to decide, but of course if you decline, Sora will be mines. Use your time wisely and may the odds be ever in your favor," as Kaoru retreated and dissipated back into the shadows.

 

"24 hours Sei!"

He didn't like the look on the look on the man's face. Whenever such a look arises, nothing but bad, well, worse things happen. That was also the look he had when he attacked one of the doctors. The beast listened closely to what the other had to say, snorting. He actually thinks he would come that easily? Or at all really? Then, his slight amusement disappeared. Sever the sire? That would kill-. But as Kaoru continued, he understood where this was going. Everything halting to a stop in his mind as he processed this. If he says no, Sora will be tortured for the rest of his immortal life, if he says yes, Sora is set free with the embrace of Grim himself.

 

He was fucked either way. Trapped. And he knew that that bastard didn't just quote Hunger Games at a time like this. Kaoru always had to have some humor in a situation. No matter how serious it was. Sei stood there as the man's words echoed in his head. Give Sora to Kaoru's to be tortured, or give him to the freedom of painless death. He still looses him, no matter whate the choice was. And, he couldn't choose. It'll probably take him longer than a day to come up with a decision.

 

Out of shear frustration and rage, a grabbed a nearby item and threw against the wall so hard it broke into pieces. Guess it was the table. "FUCK!!" He roared, tugging at his hair. Giving less of a damn if his claws scratched his scalp. Piercing the skin like needles. But, it wasn't right for him to choose. This was Sora's life they were playing with here.

 

Slowly the beast looked over at the younger male. His face vulnerable and torn. "Sora...what," he paused. "Tell me which one you would rather do. It is your life..,"

 

Please don't make him decide.

The words that Sora desperately wanted to reply back with were stuck.

 

The pain was unbearable, as he clenched his hair, bells rininging in his head, 'Did the other really recite a quote from the Hunger Games?' It wasn't even funny, when that was his favorite movie.

 

"Sora...what,"

The elder paused.

"Tell me which one you would rather do. It is your life.."

 

Of course the answer was to stay, but no matter how much he wanted to say it, he couldn’t. It was like an unseen force, zipped his lips. When the vampire male dissipated into the shadows, the merciless pain gradually vanished. Yet, the residual pain was enough to drive him off his rails.

 

He wanted the other to decide, decide for him to live and stay with him, but he was scared. Scared that by now, he had already lost the other due to his idiocy. The male laid there clenching on his chest.

 

“I wan-”

 

Again, the words just couldn't come out of his mouth, it was at the tip of his tongue. So close and yet so far. Sora was again becoming jolted. He continued clenching his chest, shaking back and forth. Either way he was already dead, his life was in the other’s hands. Tears began to flow down his face. He knew the pain was coming, but was helpless to stop it. His suicide attempt was something he wanted to take back, but couldn't. The male laid on his side, his gaze transfixed on the mutant male.

 

The male didn't know what to say. In his mind, what could he say to make things better? It wasn't like the other had the power to sever the sire himself. Sora knew that he was already dead before the vampiric mutant showed up.

 

At this point he didn't care, he didn’t want to know what he was anymore, be it a monster or vampire.

Sei went to the other's side immediately when he noticed how much pain he was in. He couldn't let Sora stay alive in such pain. He just couldn't let Kaoru do this to him any longer.

 

The beast wrapped his arms around Sora when the tears started to stream down the male's face. "I'm sorry," he muttered in a broken voice. Struggling to keep his own tears back. He kissed the top of the other's head softly. This was hardest decision he has ever made. It was literally tearing him apart from the inside. On one side, he wanted to be selfish; keep Sora alive no matter what. But on the other, he knows he has to let him go. The pain he was in, physically and emotionally it seems, it was going to destroy Sora. One way or the other. And, Sei knows he has done enough damage to him. Slowly he removed himself from the other male. "I'm sorry...," he repeated. "I....i can't hurt you anymore. If i make you stay, Kaoru....he'll make your life hell. All because of me."

 

'I can't do this to him anymore. I'll.....I'll make this right. Somehow....,'

 

The beast kissed the younger male one last time. "I love you...always." Then, he turned to leave and keeo to himself. He didn't plan to tell the vampiric mutant his choice until the hours were up. For now, he needed to wallow in his own self loathing. Even if it was pathetic, he needs to distance himself from Sora. Because if he stays, he knows he wouldn't let the younger male go no matter what. But, it's better this way. Right?

The pain, a familiar electric shock from inside of his head, seemed to have completely consumed the male. He was in so much pain to even notice that the elder left, it was like every time that he wanted to talk to the other, Kaoru prohibited it. "Tch." Before he had even fully processed what just happened, he opened his eyes for the first time since the other had left.

 

"No, no, no, no, nooo.. He just didn't leave me. No, no, I fucked up so bad," the male began to wail hysterically. "All I wanted to do was. Was to be with him, I messed up so bad. So bad..."

 

He flipped over on his back, grabbing his neck, feeling the cut scar. "Tch. If I was him, I wouldn't want me back." For the time being, the male was no longer in pain and was able to see straight. But at this point he was alone, all alone. But at least he could calm himself down before meeting up with the elder, if the elder should wish to do so..

 

Sora began to roll back and forth in a fetal position, huddling to himself. He began to question himself, was it even worth it anymore, trying to fight the vampire mutant? The male shook his head back and forth and sighed. He assured himself that it was, no matter what, the elder was his world.

 

Many questions remaining to be answered in the back of his mind. And yet, there was one that he couldn't let go. It was one gnawing question needing an immediate resolution, 'What was Sei gonna do?'

Sei had a suspicion that this was all part of Kaoru's plan. And, it angered him how he couldn't do anything about it. He walked down the pavement, knowing exactly where the man was hiding. All while he made his way, he couldn't help but think about Sora. How they met and he didn't trust him, how he figured out he had some interest in the guy but didn't know about it until Sora showed him in his own way, everything. Everything they've been through together.

 

This wasn't fair. But, this was the only way to keep the other safe from this.

 

The younger male's smiling face appeared in his mind, the way he said i love you like he could never get enough of telling him, how he said his name like a prayer; this was too cruel for the mutant to handle. He balled his fists up at his sides as he walked, shoulders hunched forward. Sei knew that this was going to end him, letting Kaoru sever the connection he had with the other male that will kill him instantly. But, at least it was painless right?

 

The beast stopped in front of an old factory, he didn't even noticed he walked this far. He sighed heavily, this was the beginning of the end for them.

 

"So you finally came to a decision, senpai? That was fast."

At the beginning the male just wanted to help the other, help him get away from the vampiric mutant and yet, the male made the worst mistake ever. A mistake that can't be undone. Even during the days Sora had never committed the ultimate betrayal. A betrayal that he had to pay with his life.

 

In his childhood, it was a blissful reality up until he lost Tyler. The male could remember that fateful day when he held the other's dying body. He made a promise at the other's grave, to live a fulfilling life and yet now, the male found himself breaking that promise he made to himself so long ago. I am an idiot. Sora gritted his teeth, a part of him hope that this was a bad dream, something that could be reversed. Yet, it wasn't, because he could feel the searing pain eating away at him.

 

The desperate bellowing of doom, floated above his head. There's no point in living if Sei abandoned him. If he could take back one thing, one regret, the male would take back ever breaking up with the other. Even though he didn't meant leaving the other, it was something that he had to do and yet, the repercussions it caused shredded every fiber of the male. He would rather be six feet under than to not be able to hold the other in his arms, to kiss the other's soft lips and just to be by the other side in general.

 

It was like the other was controlling everything he did, like the other knew what he was gonna do before he had done it. "Kaoru.. If I see you, I would rather plunge a knife into your heart myself."

 

[10 minutes passed]

A few minutes passed since the elder left, by then the male had enough time to recover and think straight about his next mode of action. To calm down mostly. The male sat up and brushed dust off his shirt and pants, sighing and taking in a deep breath. It wasn't until a loud thud outside the door set alarm bells in his head. His reflexes were like that of a cheetah, swift and fast.

 

On the outside on the door, the male could hear clanking metal against metal action. At the sound of the loud bang, Sora moved back and jumped out the window. The male landed on the landing of the adjacent building. He looked back at the room and just before the room caught in fire, an apparition of the vampire appeared right before his eyes, taunting him. It wasn't like the male could die. He was now a sired vampire to his master, one that was out to kill him. His puppeteer. He was for lack of a better word, a dummy.

 

Sora sighed and turned around walking down the stairs and just when he had his back turned, the other's dormitory building exploded. "Tch. That bastard," and as the words escaped the male's mouth, he fell to the ground, kneeling on one knee, while his left hand seizing the railing, his right hand grabbing on his hair.

 

"You shall forever be mines.."

Sei sat in the old building. The cold air from outside seeping through the cracks of the concrete wall, wrapping around his body effortlessly. The sound of silence heavy in his ears as stared off into space. He did it. He told Kaoru his choice. But, he couldn't help the hollow feeling in his chest that grew bigger each minute. Was this really a good choice, was a question that echoed through his mind in a whisper. The only thing that counts as a sound in the place he was in. Physically and mentally. Sora was going to be free, free from him. From all of this. It's for the best. Besides, he tried to leave before. It was too much for him, and the mutant couldn't help but feel like he was the number one source of his pain. But, it was true. Because he told the younger male he was an experiment, he treated him differently. Hell, because he was a mutant all of this happened. And the worse was done to the one he loved, he only made it worse. Sei curled into himself, the darkness engulfing him along with the cold. Hiding himself from the world outside.

 

No matter how many times he tries to tell himself this was for the best, his selfish side wanted to go find Kaoru and take it all back. Every last word, and maybe, kill him himself. But, that will still kill Sora. He's seen this before, there was no happy ending for either party. It was just hell. Pure hell. The beast wanted to go back in time and stop all of this . Maybe if they never met, never fell in love, none of this would've happened. That was entertaining him for a moment before the hollow feeling became a painful ache. Increasing and burning him inside. This was for this best, this is for the best. "He'll be safe now," he muttered to himself, breaking his own silence. The soft words sounding loud in the quiet, tense air. "He'll be safe...,"

 

'....from me,'

 

He can't hurt him anymore. Sei knows he can't die so easily. And, he can't let Sora come back to life to suffer even more because of his past. It wasn't right, wasn't fair in the slightest.

 

'So killing him is the easiest and better option....?'

 

No, it's for the best.

 

He made the right decision....

Kneeling had been unpleasant for the male, in fact it was excruciating. He grappled his head. It was a pain like a thousand daggers puncturing his skull. As far as the male could remember, he had never been very receptive of pain, especially going through a sire with a cynical obsessive vampire. It was magnified by ten, the vampire mutant wanted to control him and he knew it and he was stupid enough to fall right in the other's trap. He wondered if he could ever go back to the place where he was one with the other, being able to hold the other and staring at him in the eyes? It was a thought that the male had on replay.

 

'Sei. Sei..'

 

In some ways, the male didn't regret meeting the other, to him it was time well spent if it meant putting his life on the line , it wasn't like he could go back and erase the pain that he had caused the other. If he could, he would rather trade places with him, if he could. Sora pushed himself up on the hand railing and began laughing. "If I'm gonna go out, I'll just have to have you join me." It wasn't like the male had anything else to lose, after all he had already lost Sei.

 

"Sei, I'm sorry..this time I'm gonna leave. I'm sorry to have ever burdened you," the male said in a teary voice only he could hear.

'Something's not right,' he thought quietly to himself. The only noiae in this dead hallow warehouse. But, be can't do anything about it. He already decided, already told Kaoru his decision. He can't save Sora. If he stopped him, he will continue to suffer. 'Sora...,' The mutant closed his eyes as the cold increased. But he didn't even shiver, nor did goosebumps appear on his skin. Like the cold couldn't even penetrate the emotional hold that was surrounding him. Dulling his sense to the point that they didn't exist at all. However, that nagging feeling was telling him to at least check up on the younger male. Maybe even give him a proper burial ground at the most. 'It's the least i can do....right?' He did just sentence the one he loved to death. He owes him this much.

 

Sei got up with sluggish movements before heading out. Back at his old place, Kaoru stared at the younger male with slight amusement. "Is that so? Take me with you?" They actually believe him. But he wasn't going to serve the connection, he was going to do something different to make his statement true. Senpai was going to be his, and Sora was going to be out of the picture once and for all. Staying out of his way forever. "Now, don't cry. It's not like he can hear, or cares for that matter. You did break his trust and heart multiple times already. This us just insult to injury."

The male pulled himself up and jolted for the next landing, his hope was to leave, to vanish through thin air. It wasn't like the elder would notice that he was gone, for what he knows the other was disgusted with him. He was after all tainted with the other's blood.

 

Sora was dirty, he was dirty inside and out. Kaoru's blood that ran through his veins, both keeping him alive and patching that cut would, surely would disgust the mutant elder. Sora gritted his teeth, it wasn't like the elder could drink his blood anymore. So what's the point in caring anymore?

 

His face was ashen, and the thoughts of the elder made it worse. He was showing the early signs of a ravage beast about to go on a killing spree and yet, a part of his human side pulled him back to reality. Though, his human side was almost, if not completely gone as the minute hand ticked. Sora was on the verge of going awol from his sad human life, never gonna be seen again. Keep calm, you don't wanna regret, he cautioned himself. He knew better than to lose his temper and cease himself to think clearly. He was already running on emotions and in this case, it was no good. All the male could think about was the elder, loosing the elder to the vampire bastard.

 

In all likelihood this was not what, his rational side would tell him to do, to go commit murder, but his insanity crept out through the cracks, 'Kaoru must die'. No, please stop, he warned himself-at least for the time being. He knew that the vampire's blood was getting to him, controlling his thoughts, his movement and now his rationality.

 

"Don't abandon me now Sei, I need you.."

As the beast got closer to his soon to be abandoned home, an unknown feeling curled inside of him. What if Sora was dead? And when he gets there it's the hollow body of the one he loves? And he was the cause of it, the ine to make the choice. He stopped, though the air was cold, the wind was still. As if holding its breath for whatever is to happen next. He can't go back, he'll really break if he does.

 

The first time was somewhat calmer than what he was sure to do when he saw the other's body. It was killing him now, eating away at him as the numbness turned into a bitter ache. This is too much, he can't handle it. Maybe he should go back. As he turned to do so, the mutant froze. 'Checking wouldn't be bad, right?'

 

Kaoru could be doing anything at this very moment to Sora. For all Sei knew, he could be torturing him. Causing him pain because of his stupidity of thinking that the man will actually do as he said. He should know beyter than to trust him with his lover's life. But the choices he gave him, in the end he had none right? This was all for good right? Or, is it all for not? Was his choice something that could be prevented? All of these questions danced in Sei's head. Getting louder and louder, practically yelling at him as the ache got worse and worse. Chest burning from the feeling he now knows he can't prevent unless he does go into his home. It wouldn't hurt, right? Maye he wasn't going to be late this time around.

 

With a heavy mind and unsure feeling, he turned back in the direction of his home. Now going at a fast pace to get there sooner. He takes it back, he takes it all back. He can't lose Sora like this, there had to be a way to save him. And he was willing to try every damn theory he had.

 

'I'm not going to let him win.'

Sora massaged the sudden throbbing in his temples, he couldn't help but to feel the pain of the sire eating away at him. It wasn't like he could grab a pair of scissors and cut the strings of fate that he had with the vampiric mutant. It was an unfavorable fate that he had to endure. Indeed it was, because of his stupidity of committing the ultimate sin against Sei, he had to pay for it.

 

'I'm sorry.'The male cringed.

 

He pulled out a bottle of painkillers and chugged them down. As soon as he was done, he looked up he saw a shadow moving about in Sei's old place. It was then that the pain came back and this time it was stronger. It was enough to knock the wind out of the male, against the brick wall. It was real enough to bring him to his knees once again and at this rate, if he wanted to find Kaoru, it would be a huge hurdle to jump. But the solution at hand was to take the other male out, no matter what and Sora couldn't shake an unpleasant feeling he had thinking about it. It was as if, something was telling him to withdraw. Sora was face with a decision to retreat for now or to go find the other asap.

 

While he was cringing, a floor above, he could hear what seemed like the elder male. "Sei?!"
