Sei nodded his head, kind of angry that the younger male was on a date to begin with. But he tried his hardest to hold it in, even if his grip on the vial tightened ever so slightly.

 

"Sure, we can finish up tomorrow. I need the extra sleep anyway." He said, yawning softly.

 

"Hey, why does your brother want you to go on a date with people you don't like? I mean, you don't have to tell if you don't want to. But it seems kind of weird that he's making you really."

It couldn't be helped. I feel like I'm cheating, when I'm not. How do I convey my feelings for someone who is still partially denying my existence? "Hey, I'm really sorry. I wish we could have spent more time working on this project. I feel like I just got here and it hasn't even been 3 hours yet and now I'm leaving. Do you wanna do something tomorrow? We can continue this or we can just go on a date? Hum, I really do like you and I want to know more about you," said Sora as he leans in to kiss Sei on the lips.

The male shrugged his shoulders. "It's okay really, it can't be helped. We can go over to my place tomorrow. N-not in a...different way." He stuttered. Sei gave the younger male a surprised look at his confession, becoming flustered really quickly. "Oh..ummm." He doesn't know what to do aanymore, and just when he thought he had everything some what figured out.

 

But the feel if Sora's lips against his made his whole body freeze up, mind stopping its train of thoughts. After a minute, which felt like an hour to Sei, he slowly returned the kiss. Moving his lips against the other's gingerly.

I remember mom telling me to go after the things that you want. If you wait it usually never comes, so I made a decision to get rough with Sei, but sometimes you have to play a game of cat and mouse in order to properly reel him in. Sei looks up at the other male. "Say, I'm sorry. This just came out of nowhere. Hum..hum. Forget it," and leaves.

Wait...what? Sei was confused, well, more confused. The younger male was just going to kiss him and leave? Quickly, he grabbed the other's arm. "Wait!"

 

Now what, he thought. "You don't....you don't have to apologize." He said, his voice going softer as he continued to speak. Sora was making his head spin. One minute he has everything figured out, then the next he doesn't know if he's in limbo or not.

"Well, I was going to tell you that my brother suggested a marriage proposal to her. He said that it's decided and he wants me to get back and see her as soon as possible."

 

Sigh.

"I mean, I met her once and she's cute and all...but...m-my brother said he couldn't accept my gay lifestyle anymore and he was going to put an end to it. He also said, that he would wring the gay out of me. I mean, not that he could, but he's dead set on the idea and when he gets an idea in his head, doesn't matter if it makes sense or not; he never stops until he tries. So... I was planning to call you, after the situation has been take care of."

 

Pause.

 

Sora looks up at the older male, "Well, I was thinking about bringing you home with me and introducing you as my current lover."

Sei was astonished by the information the younger male gave him. His brother would actually go so far to make him straight? This made him glade that he was an only child. But also furious at the same time. And the fact that Sora was going to go along with it, right after he told him how he felt.

 

Hell, Sei is still trying to sort out how he really feels for the other.

 

Sighing, he bit his lip in thought. Thinking really hard about this situation, which is a first. "Well, I guess that I'm your lover then." He said, trying to shrug it off like it wasn't a big deal. Or that he just called himself Sora's lover.

 

"If it means getting your brother off your back, that is." He added quickly. "I'm....still not sure where my feelings are for you..," he muttered, looking away like an embarrassed teenage girl.

"Then it's settled. I'm taking you home with me and I'm gonna introduce you to Alyssa & Andrew. I'm gonna tell them that we are sleeping together and that we have been for a while. I'm also gonna tell them, that the date is off with her."

 

Sora looks up at the older male and he expected other other to be floored by his confession, but he wasn't. He then made a bold move and stood up, kissed the older male. He laughed and said, "Now, you're mine."

Sei was a little flustered at how blunt the younger male would be to his family about their ' relationship'. But it's not real per say, then again, they have to act like it is. "Okay." He agreed, shrugging his shoulders another time.

 

The kiss he got was sudden for the male, making his face heat up and his heart beat faster. "Yours?" He muttered, face turning a darker shade of red. How is it that Sora is able to make him so flustered? But the girls he dated in the past couldn't even make him stutter?

 

Scratching the back if his head, he looked away to hide his red face.

Sora looked at the older male getting flustered and smiled. "Sometimes you just have to be aggressive, especially towards your end goal," muttering to himself. He then looks over at the door and suggests, "Let's go home. I want to properly introduce you to them, but promise me...if it gets too uncomfortable for you, let me know. I will try to evade the situation, my brother creates."

 

Sora face turned red. He could feel his body heating up and sweats starts to bead on his forehead. A nervous laughter he makes to break the awkward silence. Raising his right hand up to the back of his head, he looks up at the older male, "Then, it's settled. We're officially dating. I don't care if you agree or not. You're mine."

The male sighed to himself softly, knowing that trying to say anything will make him even more flushed. "Might as well get this over with." He said,hoping that it will go over smoothly.

 

"Gee, good to know you care for my opinion." He muttered, face still as red as ever.

Sora walked out of the lab with his backpack in hand and the older male in tow. He looked over his shoulder towards the older male, his face was still flushed, and Sora muttered to himself, "This is gonna get interesting. I didn't think he would freak out. That's what's I get for being so bold. Well, it couldn't be helped. He's still...may-maybe in denial..?"

 

Sora could feel sweat beading on the palm of his hands and he immediately wipes it on his shirt. Sighing to himself, he looks up and says, "Hey, if you're nervous, you really don't have to go through with this. I can always bring you over another time."

Sei was having a mental panic attack. Fidgeting with his clothes as he followed the other. 'This is stupid. So stupid in fact that it hurts. What if his brother wants proof? I'm already a mess as it is. Now to top it all off, I'm his now. HIS.' He thought to himself, not helping his nervousness one bit. He looked over at Sora.

 

"No, let's do it today." He said, he wanted the younger male to be free from this.

"This is going to get messy." It was one thing to have Andrew get on my case about my sexuality. Now Sei is involved. Sora looked up at the other male who was visibly flustered. "Hey, we really don't have to do this. We can do something else. I mean we can go to the movies, or something and I can stand them up. I really don't care. It's not like they're going to disown me for that and as far as I am concerned I'm partly dead to them anyways."

 

Even if I put Sei before family, I know that I'm putting my happiness before theirs.

Sei thought for a second. He could just take the easy way out and not deal with this today. But then, it could get worse for Sora. And he really didn't want that for the other male. With a determined expression, he answered. "No, we're doing this today. I don't want you to go through another day with your family telling you how to live your life." Also, maybe he could understand his feelings a little more. He looked over at Sora, giving him a reassuring smile. Reaching over and messing up his hair with an affectionate look.

 

If this means helping the younger male out, then he'll swallow his fear.

A few days passed after Sei met up with Andrew and Alyssa along with Sora. Things were not good. Andrew did not approved of Sei.

 

A couple of days later at the lab: "I'm sorry Sei, I knew that I shouldn't have brought you with me, but..but..I wanted to do something bold. It was like Andrew and I should have known. I'm so sorry. How can I make it up to you?" Sora looked at the older male who didn't say anything and continued on with his experiment pipetting from one vial to another.

 

"Shit," exclaimed Sora as he kicks the table, knocking over a pot of flowers on his foot.

 

Knock. Knock.

 

"What's that," whimpered Sora as he looked up at the door, "Andrew?" He then, walks in the lab with food. "I'm here to make a truce to that night's argument. Accept my apology?"

 

Sora looked on, with no words or expression. "Look, I mean well. I didn't mean to overreact to you sleeping with Sei, I was in shock. You know how I feel about gays."

 

He looked on and still no words coming from Sora or Sei, "Look, please accept my apology and I'll leave immediately Sora. Don't be an ass!!" He then turns around, "Sei."

 

Both Sora and Andrew looked over to Sei, who immediately got up and left.

 

Sora then, runs after him, leaving Andrew alone in the lab. Sitting there by himself, he had a grin and looked over at the vials.

Sei stomped off down the hallway, ripping his goggles off his head. Pushing past students that were in his way. This was a bad idea, and for the past few days, he's been angry.

 

All because of Sora's brother who was a closed minded homophobic. He rubbed at his face in frustration, mind racing with questions and doubt. He continued to storm down the hallway and out the building, heading towards the dormitories.

 

When he first met Andrew, the look on his face let Sei knew that there would be some problems. And now here they are, with him being a ticking time bomb and his relationship with Sora on hold. The male stopped walking, letting a long suffering groan pass through his lips.

 

Leaning against a nearby tree, face looking towards the ground with balled up fists.

 

Maybe I should just leave Sora alone, he thought. Sighing heavily with his unhelpful thoughts.

 

"Just when I thought this year will be filled with no sleep and none existing drama."

Looking over at the vials, Andrew concocted a plan of switching them with Sora's vials. "I'll switch the vials to screw up their experiment. I'll also add the shit, they have over there on the table, tampering with them. I'll make them the laughing stock of the departments they're representing and I'm gonna stomp all over Sei's achievements," laughed Andrew.

 

He looked at the ground and found a syringe, he bent down and picked it up, "I guess I'll syringe a syringeful from both vials and I'll come back later."

 

A few minutes passed.

 

"Where's Sora? I'm not gonna sit in here all day waiting for him, that bastard," huffed Andrew as he left the lab looking for them both.

 

A short while later he finds them talking underneath a tree, Sora's hands were on Sei's shoulders. "Shit," and heads back to the lab.

 

The two entered the lab a few minutes later and Andrew was still fuming. "I'm gonna go," said Andrew expressing grief. He passed by Sei, with a syringe in hand, he jabbed it into Sei's buttock and when he turned around Sei didn't move.

Sei thought he felt something but he wasn't sure. Was it...? His vision started to blur, dizziness taking over him as he fell to his knees. Panting heavily as his heart started to race.

 

What the hell was that, he thought.

 

He clenched at his heart, each time a breathed sent a wave of pain through his body, causing him to tremble uncontrollably. "Shit..," he said through clenched teeth. His vision was just a blend of colors and bright lights. Sei started to panic, trying to force his body up.

 

The male felt something, like his bones were reforming.

 

He clawed at the floor, whimpering in pain, panic increasing with each passing second. Soon his vision went black, his.body slowly going limp on the floor.

"OMG, Sei?! Sei? What's wrong? Can you hear me?!" "Ehh. Help! Andrew quick, call 911! Andrew?!" He got up and looked around, but the brother was gone.

Andrew smiled as he left the building, "Serves you right, playing with hazardous materials. It's a pity that I didn't see the look on his face."

Sora: "Help! I was working in the biology-botany lab at my college with a partner. I don't know what happened, but he's out cold. He was clenching to his chest and he fell to the ground. Please hurry, I don't know what happened. His hands are cold."

 

Dispatcher: "What's the location sir?"

 

Sora: "URW College, the bio/botany lab on the third floor, room 323"

 

"Sei, hang in there! I called for help. Please don't die on me. I won't be able to live with myself if you do!" 'What is happening? It can't be..? His face is pale, but there's a hint of green?

No! I'm just imagining things... Yeah...that's right. The lack of sleep is really getting to me,' as he clenched onto the older male's hand.

 

"Where is that ass Andrew, when you need him?!"

Sei laid on the floor unconscious, his body slowly going cold. Body twitching hear and there. He looked normal at first. That is, until the pale color his skin adapted from the pain turned into a light shade of green. It was barely noticeable at first, but soon, it gradually grew darker. Even his hair was changing.

 

Cracking sounds from the bones in his hands started to move and reform. Luckily, the male was so out of it, that he couldn't even register the immense pain and change his body was going through. Soon, even his breathing started to slow down, along with his heart rate.

 

After a few seconds, Sei's body took on a change that was....remarkable. Something you would never see, in this life time or any other. His head flopped to the side, a silent sigh falling from his parted lips slowly.

 

What happened to the older male....is something that scientists can't ever do in their entire years of living. Sei became, a new species.

Sora was looking on at the older male in horror, he was changing, his body increasing got darker in color, he could hear crackling around his body and he was scared. He took two steps back surveying the rest of Sei's body.

 

"What is this?!"

 

Sigh.

 

"H...he's changing?! That's impossible!"

 

Thump. Thump. Thump.

 

"No, it can't be...h...he's a mutant?"

After a few minutes, Sei's body was finished transforming. His skin was a dark green color, his hair looked leaf like and even darker than his own skin. His fingers were a little longer, with weird markings going up his arm to the side of his face.

 

"M-mhmm..," he groaned, face scrunching up.

 

The male's eyes slowly opened, showing bright yellow orbs. Slowly, he sat up. Holding his head in pain. "W-what..?" Sei was confused, what just happen? Did he black out? When he looked down at his hand, he froze in fear. He looked at both his arms, panic quickly taking over him as he hyperventilated. "What the hell?!"

Leading the way into the lab, Sora rushed in with the paramedics. "He's in here, please help him!"

Paramedic: "Is this some kind of joke?"

Sora: "What do you mean?"

Paramedic: "Well, where is he?!"

Sora: "Huh?!" as he looked down, "What?! He was here just a second ago. I swear!"

Paramedic: "We can't help, if he's not here. Are you sure he collapsed? It looks like he up and left. Maybe you should go find him. He could be all right, but was playing a prank on you? I mean we can't stay, if the patient isn't here. We're on a tight schedule, you know and at this time of year, time is precious."

Sora: "I'm so sorry! I'll call back if it's an emergency. Thank you, I'm so sorry! Would you like me to show you the way out?"

Paramedic: "No, that's fine. We've been here before."

 

'What the heck? Sei was just here a minute ago...he just up and left? How could he? I mean his hands were cold as ice. He was out cold. I literally thought he was dead....c-could it be? That he was playing a joke on me? To get back at what happened the other day?'

 

Sora looked all over the lab and couldn't find Sei. 'Did he go home? Maybe, I should look there,' as he grabbed his bag and ran out of the lab. 'This doesn't look good, no matter how you look at it!'

Sei had to run home, the trip taking longer because he had to hide from the other students. When he finally made it safe and sound inside, he dropped to the floor. Leaning up against the door. He looked at his hands with fearful eyes. "What the hell is going on? Why is this happening??" The male angrily punched the floor. Burying his face in the palm of his hands. This has to be a dream, he thought. There's no way this is real. Did something go wrong with the experiment? Everything was fine until....

 

Sei's thoughts came to a complete halt. What if Sora saw him change? Or worse, he called someone? He shook his head, standing up and heading towards the bathroom. Maybe he inhaled some fumes and started hallucinating. Yeah, that had to be it. Turning on the light with a bit of hesitation, he looked at the mirror. Big yellow eyes stared back at him.

 

"Holy shit!" He gasped, moving back until he was leaning against the wall. Sei stared back at his reflection. Dark green skin with markings going up one side, even darker green hair, and gold eyes with no pupils. How was he able to see? "This is bad. Really, really bad." The male rubbed at his face, sliding down to the floor. Bringing his knees to his chest and wrapping his arms around himself.

 

Just when he held some hope for this semester.
