Trailing his gaze back o the shorter male at the bed, Yuuya's eyes seemed to transfix at the frail-looking frame, before travelling up to the equally delicate-looking face. 'He really looks like he hasn't eaten in awhile...' He thought to himself... Just vaguely aware that he was staring yet again, at the peculiar individual. In a way, he supposed it was easier to look at someone when they were least aware of it, making them unguarded and whatnot... not to mention it saved him the trouble of having to look someone in the eye too...creepy as it was, it worked for him.

He blinks when he sees an odd expression on the underclassmen's face, although it was only for a brief moment, he thought he saw a hint of melancholy in his eyes. "Yeah..it's good.." He responded belatedly in a quiet tone. Not entirely sure if he had seen that expression right and so moved to sit by the bed as well and watched the kittens happily drink the milk. He feels eyes on himself now but he disregards it in favor of answering the question, a small smile making it's way to his lips. "Well, now, we eat of course," Bemused at the fact that it seemed Kio had no plans of eating the food he bought for them. He points at the plastic bag at the other's hands before reaching inside of it and taking out to sandwiches.

He hands one to Kio, "Here, this ones yours..I didn't know what type of sandwich you wanted so I just went with ham and cheese...mine's tuna, so if you prefer that, I don't mind switching." He says rather diplomatically, seeming to be used in handling things like this--and in a way, Yuuya was...towards siblings anyhow and younger folk. "There's soda here too, and strawberry milk. Which one do you prefer?" He asked, since he had no qualms about drinking either of the two. "You need to eat up alright? So don't hold back, this ones on me." He smiled what he hoped was a friendly smile to the male in case the other even thought of declining. It wasn't out of pity or anything, Yuuya just didn't want to see someone not taking care of their health was all.

"We...eat?" He repeats, as if the statement were some unusual thing to say. Watching as Yuuya pulled out two sandwiches, and with a surprised look on his face, he looks down into his hand, where Yuuya had place one of the sandwiches. It was ham and cheese apparently. He felt another pang in his heart, and he felt his eyes begin to sting. That was one of his favorites. He glances at Yuuya, who had gone on to say that he had also brought soda, or strawberry milk. Another favorite, yet again. "Um, the milk for me please." He mutters quietly, accepting it when Yuuya hands it to him. With silence, he nibbles the sandwich, a faint blush forming in his cheeks. The sandwich, albeit being school food, was really good. And when he drank the milk, he had to fight back a sigh of happiness. He didn't want to seem too weird, doing something like that over something as benign as strawberry milk.

As he ate, he forgot his shyness for a bit, and words began to form in his mouth. Suddenly, he begins to speak, saying things he thought he'd never hear himself say out loud, especially to someone he had pretty much just become acquaintances with. "Did you know...My mom and dad don't even know I exist...To them, I'm just a...a faded memory...Everyone here is like that as well. They used to know me, but then, I disappeared from their thoughts, and now I'm all alone..." He turns to look at Yuuya, a mixture of sadness, loneliness, and desperation in his eyes. "But...for some reason, you can see me, Yuuya-senpai...Why is that? Why can you see me, when no one else even knows I exist? That even though I'm standing right there, they see right through me, as if I'm nothing more than air? How come?" Tears began to form in his eyes again, and he bites his bottom lip.

"I hate it. I hate being unseen, and being some sort of ghost. I'm here...I'm here, so look at me! Stop looking past me. I'm not gone, I'm right here!" He sighs. "That's what I want to say to them. But even when I do...they don't here me. They just go on, as if all they heard was nothing but the wind." He falls silent, a single tear escaping from his eyes. He sniffles a little, and then finishes his meal, staring at his food and keeping quiet. He was starting to feel bad for the sudden show of emotion, his thoughts spilling from his mouth to Yuuya.

The edges of his lips quirked into another smile upon hearing Kio's response. "Yeah, we eat." He parroted, glad that the other accepted the food without much of a fight and ate in relative silence. He had picked on two different types of drink since he was aware of those who couldn't handle fizzy drinks and then there were those who were lactose intolerant, so it was good to be prepared beforehand... honestly, Yuuya worried a bit if he didn't like either or was not allowed to drink either...although, when it comes down to it, he wouldn't mind buying him a bottle of water if he wished it...

Great, now he was starting to act like an overly-concerned mom or something...how unsightly... He takes a quick swig of the lychee-flavored soda at the same time his kouhai had accepted the strawberry milk and began drinking it as well. His eyes had glanced back to the other unknowingly and he reverts his gaze back to the kittens who were nearly done with their treat. 'Is it good?' He almost asks to fill in the silence. Well, it wasn't exactly uncomfortable, and Yuuya wasn't really one for small talk either, in fact he hated it. However; if it was with younger people, it seems he doesn't seem to mind it as much...

Before he could say it out loud though, Kio had decided to speak up, and surprisingly it wasn't the small talk the brunette had expected to hear. He didn't expect to hear all that pour out of the other's lips...something so painful, he couldn't quite understand why his own parents wouldn't remember their own son, it was weird and to be forgotten by your friends and not to be noticed by those who walk past you must've been truly painful to bear alone... Slowly, he lets the information sink in, the pieces eventually coming together to his unanswered questions on why the other was so thin... He isn't sure what to do or say exactly to make things better, but he was certain he wanted Kio to feel better... His heart throbs a bit in pain when he imagines placing himself at the state Kio was in, loneliness, huh? Staring straight ahead and letting the other calm down. It seemed far too surreal for him to believe right at the start if he thought about it logically, but the younger male's pain felt too real for it to be a prank of some sort...he could empathize that much.... Raising a hand, he ruffles the other's soft hair slightly.

"I...dislike people....being around them rather..." He began, already unsure where he was going with that. "I can't understand them well, nor do I want to all that much. Having to relate to them all the time, keeping up with trends and gossip...I hate it. Small talk and the like is something I'm not best at either..." He rambled on, trying to search for the right words to say. "But...I like animals..and kids...anyone who's younger at least...cause to me, they see everyone purely...they're honest and they hold no malice...it's relaxing and I don't have to be on guard around them..." A short pause as he drew in a breath. "So, I may not be the best at comforting, and whatever advice I may give might not be the one you want to hear..." He trails his gaze back to Kio shortly. His expression serious, but his hazel brown eyes warm.

"I don't understand either why I of all people was able to see you when your own parents couldn't...I can't explain that..." He says with a dry chuckle, letting his hand smooth down to Kio's cheek and gently wiping away the tears gathering by his eyes. "Although, I can assure you that you aren't alone now, I'm here for you...I can see you and feel you...so there's no need to be sad now, right?" Offering a reassuring smile to the boy, he isn't even sure if that would work..they were just acquaintances now at best. "I'll help you too..." he added with a resolute tone. "I'll help everyone remember you. So, don't cry anymore...? I'm bad with dealing with tears..." Chuckling softly before pulling his hand away.

Looking up at Yuuya, Kioku listens as the older male tried to comfort him, but it seemed as if he was having a bit of a hard time trying to find the right words. Just listening to Yuuya talk to him, telling him things, made Kioku feel a little better, and the tears stopped forming in his eyes. The words that Yuuya said, that he was there for him, made him smile a little, and he sighs in relief. "Thank you...I needed to hear that...Yuuya-senpai." But he had not really expected Yuuya to go on and say that he would help him, help everyone to remember. He looked right at Yuuya, staring in to his eyes. "Really? You'll...help me?" He smiles a bit more. "Thank you."

He felt as if a large weight had been lifted off of his shoulders, as if wings had sprouted from his back. He felt somewhat free, for the first time in a long time. But he also felt exhausted. So many emotions in one day, it had drained him of his energy, and before he knew it, his eyes had fluttered shut, and he'd fallen right over into Yuuya's lap, already out like a light, his breathing slow in his sleep, his expression soft and somehow a little more...at ease.

It was dark where he was. So dark. But there was a point he could see, that had a soft spot of light. A candle? A door open at the end of a long, dark hallway? The sun at the end of the cave? Kioku knew not, but he moved towards it, but for some reason, the light wasn't getting any closer, and the the dark was getting blacker. He looks around, searching for something to help him out of the predicament he was in, but he found nothing. He was alone. Facing the light again, he begins to run, his breath soon coming in gasps, a pain in his side making him wince, and he felt tired. So tired. "I'm all alone...He whispers to himself. He falls to his knees, tears running down his face, about to give up, to just let himself slip away, but then...

He looks up from where he had collapsed, and something, someone, was standing there. He strains his eyes, and to his utter surprise, it was the face of Yuuya. Smiling there, standing over him. He looked as if he was lit from the inside, a light. He reaches down towards Kioku, and Kioku reaches a weary hand up to Yuuya. The two embrace hands, and Kioku felt as if he was at peace, he had found his light, his saving grace. "I can assure you that you aren't alone now, I'm here for you...I can see you and feel you...so there's no need to be sad now, right? I'll help you too...I'll help everyone remember you. So, don't cry anymore...? I'm bad with dealing with tears..." The light brightens, and all fades away.

His heart thumps in his chest in what seemed like irregular intervals when he heard the other's words. 'I guess it worked...?' Not really having expected anything positive to come out of his really lame speech, Yuuya was certainly relieved that Kio had at least stopped crying. He hadn't been lying when he said he was no good with tears after all... "That's nice...smiling definitely suits you more, huh?" He says smiling back. "A-and, you're welcome--" The reply was a beat late since he still couldn't get used to being thanked, the thought itself left him more than a little flustered.

He thought his heart would suddenly lurch out of his chest when Kio had decided to use his lap as a pillow of all things, however; he didn't have the heart to just push him off either....sighing a bit when he realizes that the underclassmen was already fast asleep, he decides to let it be. He was cute from this angle anyways..... 'Ah...' His thoughts pause right there and he resists the urge to do a facepalm...what the heck did he just think of?? And to a defenseless underclassmen no less....? Geez, get a grip you. He chastised himself. He tears his gaze away from the peaceful face to the kittens who had finished sometime ago and were also taking a catnap in a small pile together. "Heh...must be nice to be young..." Not that he was an old person, but he was a third year and the thoughts of the year after...where he would leave the school to start working...would come soon.

Hazel brown orbs peer down at the male sleeping on his lap once more. 'He looks more relaxed somehow...' He thought, was his words really that helpful to make him appear so? With his free hand, he let's it touch Kio's cheek gently, brushing the smooth skin and then cupping it. 'Woah...it's really soft...' It almost seemed too unreal even....His brows furrowed a bit when it occurs to him that he was touching his kouhai irresponsibly... it would be bad if he thinks that he was a lecher or something, right? Those paranoid thoughts were enough to make him move his hand to gently comb through the smaller male's hair instead. The actions, when done to himself was pretty comforting and helped him sleep better, Yuuya wasn't sure why he was doing it, but it gave him something to do while he let time pass.

He drinks his soda, taking little sips as he basked in the comfortable silence, and not too soon later, the rain had stopped completely and it was night. "We missed dinner..." He mutters to no one, a smile was present on his lips a she said this. Odd as it was, the third-year found that he didn't really mind. He felt a little sleepy himself, but his hands never stopped playing with Kio's hair.

The sensation of someone's hand caressing his face so softly and gently made him sigh in his sleep, a small smile on his lips forming. He presses his face against the hand, but when it was removed a small frown forms, but it was replaced by a smile once more when fingers began running through his hair. It reminded him of something his mother used to do when he was young, and he couldn't sleep at night. It helped so well, getting rid of nightmares, and making it so he knew he wasn't alone. He felt relaxed, his body light.

He shifts slightly in his sleep, stretching out, then curling up so he was more comfortable. It was a while before he slowly opened his eyes, blinking a bit to get rid of the fuzziness that formed after one has been asleep. He turns his head a little, looking over to his side, and up into Yuuya's gentle, caring face. A small smile forms on his lips, his eyes still showing signs of being sleepy. He yawns a little, not wanting to get up from the warm spot on Yuuya's lap. But he knew that Yuuya was probably wanting to do things as well.

So reluctantly he sits up, stretching his arms above his head, yawning a bit more. He glances over at Yuuya, wondering if it had been his hand he had been feeling on his face, or if it had just been a memory he relived. He reaches up to touch his cheek with the tips of his fingers, as if trying to trace the spot where he had felt someone touch, wanting to feel that sensation again. The feeling of someone's caring touch. He sighs, letting his hand fall to his lap. "So um...what now?" He asks Yuuya, looking out the window, seeing that the storm had passed.

  • 2 weeks later...

Yuuya had been close to falling asleep then and there if Kio had woken up just a minute later. He let's the smaller male get up and feeling only a tad bit bashful when he noticed how he touched the cheek he had brushed not too long ago. He wasn't saying anything though, so Yuuya decided not to say anything either lest things start to get awkward... At the question the brunette couldn't help but smile and chuckle quietly. "I don't know about you but well, I'm not entirely sure, my legs fell asleep so I can't really move about at the moment..." He admitted sheepishly. This was most likely due to sitting still that way for too long, not that Yuuya minded anyhow...

Looking at the window, the sky was dark and he could hear the crickets chirping about as a cool breeze makes itself known, easing itself through the slightly open window and wrapping itself at the nape of his neck before nipping at his nose and cheeks. Resisting the urge to shudder, Yuuya placed a hand to rub at the back of his neck when he felt chills there. He glanced over to the wall clock, and it was indeed pretty late. " 11pm, guess we missed dinner..." They had eaten some sandwiches earlier, but was that really enough to make up for a missed meal? Would Kio be alright with that?

"Are you hungry or something..? I doubt anyone's still selling anything in the cafeteria but we can borrow the kitchen I think..." He pondered aloud. "You just woke up too, so I doubt you'd be falling asleep anytime soon..." He doesn't bring up the topic from earlier since he figured that was that, right? The fact that he fell asleep right away after being comforted was proof enough just how long he was thinking of such heavy things till now...hopefully Yuuya could make good on his word and help him one way or another... Oh that's right--they weren't alone here....hazel-colored orbs flit around the room to where the kittens lay earlier and found that they were gone. "Ah--where'd they run off to?"The room wasn't too big--so it wouldn't be hard to find them...

"I'm not that hungry, no..." Kioku replies to Yuuya's question. He runs his hand across his stomach though. "But maybe I could eat something small..." He finishes, looking at Yuuya's face. He saw that the other make was looking around the room, as if searching for something, and he follows the gaze, noticing that the kittens were gone. A frown adorns his lips, wondering where they could have gone to. He hoped they were alright...

He then looks at Yuuya again, his eyes gazing at the other male's face. A small faint red forming on his cheeks as he gazed up at his senpai. "Uhm...thanks for earlier...for the things you said, and for ya know...letting me take a nap on your lap..." He blushes deeper, and looks away. He felt weird now, having said that. Who went around using someone's lap, of whom they had just met, as a pillow? Not too many people, that was for sure.

Standing up, he stretches, his pants sliding a bit more, and almost falling off, despite the belt that was holding them up. "So, Yuuya-senpai, you wanna go make something to eat?" He asks, hulking up the pants that had slid down his waist. Even thoug he said something small, he was actually really hungry.

(Sorry it's so short)

//weeps at this lateness omg I seem to be getting slower and slower with my responses OTL ))

"Something light to eat sounds good," He agreed with a short nod and closed the window, "The kittens can stay in here for now since it would be kinda dangerous if we got seen with them on us." Looking about one more before peeking below the bed, he spots the trio still cuddling together cutely. Ah, well, he could just take a picture of that...but more importantly...

He looked back at Kio who's face had turned a bit red..? Ah..? Oh...right... Smiling sheepishly back at his kouhai, Yuuya waved a hand quickly, unable to meet his eye too for some reason. "It's uh..ah fine, I didn't mind too much..." He mutters quietly, seeming to be a bit embarrassed at having to be thanked for such a little thing. Coughing a bit to try and disguise his awkwardness and standing up, he walks over to the door. "Mnn, yeah, I think I can fix us something up, there might not be a lot of people there at this time.." Or rather, none at all. But he was certain there wasn't anything wrong with others cooking there so as long as they had gotten prior permission before, and Yuuya ha since he knew how to cook himself...

opening the door, the hallway was eerily quiet and he wonders if everyone was already truly asleep... "I forgot to ask earlier, but did you want to sleep here with me tonight?"

"Alright..." He smiles a tiny smile, nodding when he was told the kittens would be staying in the room for now, glad that they were safe from the soft rain that was now falling outside, the bigger part of the storm having passed. Looking at the sleeping trio, he then glances at Yuuya, who had stood up, and walked over to the door. He had noticed the embarrassed way his sempai spoke to him, and he smiles a bit. "Well, I still thank you for it Sempai." He murmurs, the faint blush on his own cheeks darkening a bit.

Crossing the floor to stand by Yuuya, and then they leave the room, and began to walk down the hall way, heading towards the kitchen to cook something to eat. He quietly walked beside Yuuya, and blinks in surprise when he was suddenly asked a question. "H-huh? Oh...um..." He had turned to stare at Yuuya, and quickly looks away, his face now bright red. "Sure..since I really don't have anywhere else to go...I usually just sleep where I can...which often ends up being on a bench at the park behind the school, or in the nurse's office, if she forgets to lock the door...Because I can't go back...to my home..."

He spoke this without even thinking, his voice soft and melancholic. What he'd said was true, he could no longer go back home, he was no longer welcome there. They, his parents, no longer knew he existed, they'd long forgotten him. Even his bedroom had been cleared out, and it was replaced by a different room. A new bedroom, belonging to someone different. Just thinking about it made tears sting in his eyes. "I do...I do want to stay with you tonight." He murmurs this, and not even realizing what he was doing, he slips his hand softly into Yuuya's, as if holding onto a life line, wanting to believe this was all real.
