[td]The small suburban town Muse A and Muse B live in, is in many ways the same as hundreds of others across the country. Like various of places, it harbors a few local urban legends and scary stories passed on throughout weekend bonfires and summer camps. The most well known, currently, is the story of the ‘Pigman.’ The Pigman was a farmer who lived on the rural outskirts of Blaire, the town. He was a private man, so private in fact, that in order to keep the local commoners away from his property, the Pigman would place the heads of butchered swine on stakes near the end of his long, winding driveway to discourage any solicitors. Back in the 1960’s there was said to have been three troublemaking teenagers who trespassed onto the secluded male's farm. The following night it wasn’t the heads of pigs that adorned the stakes, but the craniums of the unwelcomed interlopers, their decapitated corpse swinging from the road’s overpass. Now it is almost considered a rite of passage to drive down Pigman Road at night. The brave would park their car and take a midnight walk underneath the bridge. The extremely brave would even go so far as touching the decorated stakes. With Halloween in the air, Muse A and Muse B decide to embark on this little adventure. The drive is fairly uneventful and although the backwoods setting is a little creepy for the suburb dwellers, Muse A wants to impress Muse B with his bravery, and talks into going for a stroll.

It began quietly enough, albeit the pair begin to hear the sound of metal against metal out in the field, almost as if someone is hammering a post into the earth's crust. Muse B’s mind starts to imagine the worst, but Muse A assures them it is nothing. Muse A advances towards the racket, determined to manifest that it’s all a case of Muse B’s imagination running wild. Muse B stays with the car, too spooked to shadow the other. Minutes tick on and Muse B becomes more and more worried about Muse A’s absence. Finally Muse A comes running in a panic, barking at Muse B to get in the car, but when the two dive in and lock the doors, the car refuses to roar to life. They’re now stranded on Pigman Road.

The road was deserted, the dark vehicle, accompanied by two bodies, being the only object on the trail. With the same tales being told, Shade planned to be one of the brave and enter on Pigman Road. Many said the legends were true, some even going as far as witnessing the death of another. The young adult did not quite buy into such foolery. If one had even witnessed such a situation, he was sure that the explanation of the story would be nearly unbearable to speak of.

With a slight shift, chocolate orbs landed upon a smaller figure. Clearing his throat, Shade parted his lip to speak.

"So, tell me...do you believe in the legend?" Voice low as the dark engulfed his vision. Naze now had his eyes closed, waiting to hear the sweet voice of the barely legal teen beside him. Shaun was one he was quite interested in, albeit the two hadn't talked very much. It surprised him even when the blond agreed to come with him on the adventure. The brat was a little bad ass.

It was late, the clock reading to be fifteen minutes to midnight. The wind roared loudly seeming to whistle its own tune. With a shiver forcing its way through Shade's body, the breeze chilly, he once again opened his eyes and reached to pull down the sleeves of his shirt. Groaning, the older man placed his right arm around the seat that the younger male occupied.

The smaller figure next to Shade sat almost motionless; the way he perched on the car seat made him look like a little cat with his feet up and knees close to his chest. He held his phone close to his face; its light glared upwards to his pouting, however blunt expression as it was the only light source in the car. The blonde was trying to get busy with a racing game in his phone in silence, clicking his tongue in disappointment whenever he loses. Shaun thought joining Shade in this little "adventure" would be fun. He found it as an excuse not to join the dinner party his family is having in their house. His family really didn't mind him going, plus he'll be with Shade. They know he'll be safe.

Hearing the other ask him something about the legend, he paused his game and looked up, as if wondering what the other was actually talking about. Legend? Oh yeah, the Pigman Road. Pursing his lips to the side as his head followed its direction, he sighed. "You're asking me?" he said, his tone slightly amused. He knew the other guy knows he doesn't believe in ghosts or the like. Urban Legends for him are the same. "It's really just a story. Only kids and silly adults believe in those things." he said, mumbling the last sentence before resuming his game, only to exclaim in frustration as he lost once more. Giving up, he tossed his phone gently on the dashboard before going back to sitting properly. It was the only time that Shaun gave a closer look on where they are located.

The road was dark and looking at the horizon ahead of them, it was pitch black. The only light source they have would be the clear night sky and a few stars above them. But there was no moon. There is no way other vehicles would take a turn here because the road ahead of them was, long before, a dead end. Their engine was shut off and they had their windows slightly opened to let the cool breeze in. He didn't really get why Shade decided to take a stroll in such a place. He fondly thought the brunette just wanted to try and prove something. Maybe impress him with his bravery or such. What ever the reason, he enjoyed being in the company of the older male.

The smaller figure inside the car shifted slightly to the right as if pressing himself against the door beside him for warmth, sitting on his own hands and ignoring the arm that reached behind his seat. "Can you close the windows? It's getting cold." he said in a dry tone.

Shade attention was darted to the other's phone, as he seemed engrossed in something other than him. Emerald orbs followed the cars on the screen, an amused frown etching onto the brunette's features. By the looks of it, to the young adult, the game didn't look to be much entertainment. The older male never knew why teens were so engrossed into their phone, especially since those teens were peers.

"Can you close the windows? It's getting cold."

Smirking slightly at the frustration of the smaller figure Naze shifted toward Shaun, slouching more into the seat, arms falling away from the seat and across the smaller's lap. With the click of a button, the windows rose, the breeze being forced to stay out. Chocolate orbs steered their way to the younger beauty.

"Happy?" Shade commented with a teasing tone etched into his voice. "I'm not surprised that you didn't believe in the tale." Lifting himself to sit upright, as he turned to reach into the back seat of the car.

"How about we check it out." Watching the other from his peripheral vison.

Blue orbs shifted slightly towards the direction of the male leaning in front of him. He was slightly caught off-guard since he thought Naze would push the button on the left side control of the car, not on his side where the younger male was seated. He pushed himself deeper against the seat, avoiding any awkward contact with the brunette as he tried not to blush. Of course, even so, it wouldn't be at all noticeable because of the dark.

"Thanks." was all he muttered before finally looking away as his gaze drifted outside the window. Shaun fell silent and took his time to answer the other's other question. He thought he just saw something out there in the fields, about thirty meters of an estimate away from their car. A man holding a lantern, perhaps? His vision isn't that perfect. All he saw was a dark figure and a circle light orb against it so it might have been a man holding a lantern, indeed. But who goes here in this time of the night? Just two bored, crazy teenagers looking for some thrill, maybe. But now he felt terrified to even step out of the vehicle. The shadow man with the lantern had vanished in a second.

"Uh... Not a good idea" he said in a slightly shaky voice. "but if you really want to, you can go for yourself. I'm good here." he said, lifting his legs once more, hugging his knees close to his chest.

"Uh... Not a good idea, but if you really want to, you can go for yourself. I'm good here."

The older male frowned, hand releasing the coat located in the backseat. The brunette rose a brow, once again taking a hold of the heavy-like material and pushing it into the teen's lap. The blond had complained about being cold before, therefore he lend the teen his leather jacket; also in case if the other changed his mind and decided to join him. Shifting to face the steering wheel again, Shade sat silent for a moment, glaring into the distance.

With not a word, the twenty year old pushed the door opened and stepped outside. He knew that Shaun was scared, yet not horrified. With a little persuasion, maybe the younger male would follow him. That what the initial plan was anyway.

"Well, I'll be going. You should join me. I'm sure there is nothing here." He spoke, voice low as he padded toward the woody-like area. "I'd protect you, you know." Continuing on his way in search of the farmer's home.

  • 3 weeks later...

When Shade dropped the lump of leather jacket on his lap, Shaun flinched and blinked in slight confusion. He bit his lips together and his eyes followed the male who had just gotten out of the car. It's obvious that Shade won't be stopped whatever it is that he'd wanted to know.

"Damn.. Always trying to impress me." he whispered to himself with a slight chuckle of amusement and looked out to see if the speck of light from earlier is still there. It was gone now. His eyes followed Shade as he got slightly anxious about him going out there, alone. His legs tapped quickly on the car's floor before clicking the door open.

"Wait!" Shaun called, hoping Shade would stop from walking. "I uh... I'm coming with you." With that, he threw his phone into the stash drawer of the dashboard, slammed the door shut and rushed to Shade's side while putting on the jacket. He nervously looked back at the car and then back to where they are headed. He didn't know what lies ahead, what awaits them on the side of the woods. It was unnerving.

"Shade, you are crazy, you know that?" he said in a slight scorn in his tone. He had his hands stuffed inside the leather jacket's pockets. Falling silent for a short while, Shaun realized how Shade's smell lingered in him through the jacket. Probably sweat mixed with the young man's perfume. Somehow the slight fluttering of his chest concealed his fear for a little while.

Shade was slow in his paste toward the woods. It wasn't from the fear of what was beyond, but only because he knew that Shaun was to follow. As if the beauty would sit in the car alone. It would only lead to paranoia. Moments later, as expects, a familiar voice assaulted his ears. With a glance back, he could see as the blond hurried over. A smirk played at the brunette's lips. It couldn't be denied that he was enjoying the other's company.

"Shade, you are crazy, you know that?"

The statement was firstly given a brow raise. What theories the smaller male could come up with. Cackling lowly, Shade averted his attention back to the distance. "I'm afraid I wasn't aware of that. What does crazy people usually do? Could it include murdering a younger, smaller, much weaker being. Preferably...a male." Chocolate orbs darting down to the shorter male not to miss the reaction.

It wouldn't even cross his mind to harm the beautiful teen beside him, albeit it didn't mean he couldn't scare the other. Seymour and Naze didn't know much about one another. There was just a feeling of attraction, at least on the brunette's end. It was a foreign feeling. Shade didn't take much interest in one beside their physical features. Numbers of partners. No emotions attached. Even then it was only girls.

Shaun's face grimaced as his nose wrinkled in slight annoyance from the other's teasing. He hit Shade's arm playfully for it.

"Shut up. I know all too well you won't hurt even the tips of my hair. You love me too much."

He teased the brunette back, now darting his eyes up to see his reaction. He knew Shade is overly fond of him, but the blonde is totally oblivious about the other's "attraction" to him. He wouldn't get a hint. Shaun is as naïve as anyone could be-- or maybe he just easily gets distracted. Especially now that they are on the midst of the woods, looking for some "fun experience".

It became apparent that the place holds up to its reputation for being a creepy one as the two venture deeper into the woods. Without him realizing it, Shaun had been clutching on Shade's shirt as they walk deeper into the dark place.

"W-what exactly are we looking for again? A house? The Pigman's house?" Shaun asked, one could hear a slight tremble along those lines. "Maybe we should just go back."

Somewhere between two cypress trees not to far away from them, he saw the same light orbs he saw a few minutes earlier that put his feet to a halt and made him gasp sharply.

"S-Shade' let's go back. There's really someone here. I-I saw him."

A brow raised, Shade turned to grin to the smaller male. The other seemed pretty damn confident. The young adult couldn't respond to the statement seeing as it was true, albeit it was comical how Shaun seemed to state the acknowledgement as plain as telling the time.

Giving a snort, the eldest averted his attention to the distance once again. Taking long strides as to hurry the search.

"W-what exactly are we looking for again? A house? The Pigman's house?"

"Isn't that obvious. Why else would we be on Pigman's Road? Wouldn't be any fun just to sit around and stare now would it?" Shade asked rhetorically, shrugging slightly.

"Maybe we should just go back."

"Maybe we shouldn't." He countered, darting his eyes down to the blond. Naze wondered was the other spooked already. There wasn't much distance that was covered. There was no need to be afraid.*

To the next panicked statement, the eldest quickly gazed in the distance, not seeing a soul. The smaller male was delusional, and if not....it didn't matter.

"You should chill. There's no one there, and even if there was maybe it was more than just us searching for the Pigman. Tsk, even if it was the farmer...what does it matter? I doubt it all though. I'm protecting you remember?" Chuckling, halting his footsteps as well.

"You should chill... There's no one there."

Shaun wrinkled his nose. There's no way in hell he could chill since it's creepy enough to see the same image he saw earlier. He didn't let go of his hand from the older guy's shirt; his grip even tightened around the fabric.

" I don't know about that. I've seen the same person with the lantern from earlier, too..." He mumbled, slightly pouting.

"I'm protecting you, remember?"

"Oh yeah? Protect me with what? With these?" Shaun raised the other's arm and playfully squeezed Shade's lean biceps through the male's shirt with his delicate fingers. He paused for a while noticing how strong Shade's arm really is. He let go of the arm before turning away, slightly embarrassed with his actions. More importantly, he had just groped Shade in such manner. He knew the older male didn't liked to be touched in such a way without his consent.

Since when did he stop noticing his best friend's physical development? Five years had gone so fast as these small things came to him by surprise. Shade also had become taller and a lot more manlier. While Shaun remained short and child-like like his body had refused to grow and move forward.

"Sure you're strong enough to take that lantern guy I saw earlier and the farmer with these meanies." There was a slight teasing in his tone but in all honesty, he's just making the atmosphere lighter. Sure Shaun is taking the eldest's advice to chill but he couldn't get the image of what he saw earlier.

Shade breath pushed from his mouth as he turned to glance at Shaun. Such a stubborn teen he was. A smile took over, the brunette shrugging lightly at the statement of the other. He wasn't easily frightened. It was comical that the blond didn't believe the legends, yet was scared at the moment.

"Oh yeah? Protect me with what? With these?"

Chocolate orbs fell upon the gentle touches that pressed against his cloth-covered biceps. With the smaller reaction, Naze gave a cackle. How easy it was to embarass the blond. Surely it wasn't what was expected. Sure Shade wasn't a huge man, but he worked out every now and then.

"Sure you're strong enough to take that lantern guy I saw earlier and the farmer with these meanies."

With a push to the thinner of the two, Shade sneered. "Oh, shut up. Teasing though you were the one embarassed to even touch me. Shaun, I may not like being touched too often, but I don't bite. Well, not too hard at at least. What's the matter? Scared of me?" Nudging the figure beside him with a laughter and watching the blond to see the next moment. He wanted to see would the smaller teen move forward with him, or stay behind.

The blond couldn't help but shy away from the other's teasing. He knew his actions were of impulse and now Shade won't stop teasing him about it. It made him blush, not that it concerns him since it's almost pitch black and Shade would never see him look that way.

"I'm sorry, OK? That was... A clumsy move." He bit his lip. And what does he mean by 'he doesn't bite too hard'? His thoughts wandered about that statement and apparently got lost in his thoughts with Shade pinning him down and actually biting him.

Oh, god. Shaun shook his head and walked forward to nowhere. What was that? Why would he even think of that scene? Why should it be with his best friend? And what's worse, he felt something hot creep up from his spine as the image insists on retaining itself in his head and refuses to go away. Shaun felt so guilty from it as he walked faster that he had probably gone a few feet away from his friend. Whatever it is that they came here for, they have got to find it soon and not imagine things that doesn't have to do with finding the Pigman's house.

Shaking his head at the bashful tendencies of the smaller male, the chocolate orbs were steered to focused on the distance. By now, the two was surely on the lands of the farmers, or so he wished.

The sounds of a loud crack was heard. Brown strands flipped as the young adult head whipped towards the source. It was the noise of a branch from a tree falling to the ground. There hadn't been a storm for past days, so the brunette wondered was it coincidence. Usually such was weakened only during such an event, albeit the thought vanished as he noticed the wind was in a rapid movement. Plus, it may wasn't as big an arm as thought.

Shaun, look." Shade began, a finger pointing at a distant home. Its exterior seem to have been through rough times. "So, it is partially true as I see so far."

  • 4 weeks later...

Shaun heard the cracking sound of a branch as well and almost jumped from where he stood. He sure was a few feet away from Shade but he had managed to scram back towards the taller male and had his hand clutch tightly on whatever he could hold onto the male; this time it was Shade's wrist.

"Shaun, look. So, it is partially true as I see so far."

There the blond saw the house; old and weathered like the rumors say. "Partially true. It seems no one had inhabited there for a long time." he said with a slight scoff. Using that tone, he wanted the other to think he's still not creeped out, but his actions tell him otherwise.

"W-well.... come on! What are we w-waiting for, huh?" he rolled his eyes chuckling, hoping the other would sense his sarcasm in his tone.
