Oatmeal
Your character is a normal guy. Goes to college, studies hard, has a part time job and lives a pretty good life. Though everything changes for your character when he is met with a very strange situation. Your character finds a homeless man, battered and bruised on the side of the street. Your character watches as everyone else simply walks past, or even over, this wounded soul. With all the strength he can muster your character drags the beaten man to your home and takes care of him. When your character comes to find he is homeless you decide to let him stay with you. But what does your character do when he comes to find out that the man he's rescued from the streets has come to like him for saving him from his life of poverty? Your character isn't exactly gay. . .Never has he been with a man before or even had a man love him. What is your character to do about such a situation? My character- Name: Ryusuke Ozaki Age: 18 Appearance: Bio/Personality: Ryusuke grew up with a normal family who believed in normal values. A proud father, kind mother and helpful elder brother. When his parents found out he was gay, at the young age of 16, they kicked Ryusuke to the cirb, ashamed that their son could ever be such a disgrace. Being homeless wasn't all bad when you have friends, which Ryusuke made. Ryusuke lived in the company of a delinquent named Kise and and a young orphan girl named Hoshimi for a long time before they were separated. He tried doing things on his own but it was difficult and he frequently had to fight to survive the cruel world of homelessness. Before he was kicked out he was on the baseball team and worked very hard so he could one day be in the big leagues! Though he finds that a bit impossible now. He is quiet most of the time and rarely talks, but still can communicate well if he must. He is often shown to be sleepy and does seem to enjoy napping whenever possible. While he appears to be pretty clueless most of the time Ryusuke is very sensitive and in-tune to the feelings of others and is actually quite smart. He himself however, does not reveal his feelings or emotions as openly as others. Seme/Seke/Uke: Seme Gladis' Character- Narumi Fujita Some refer to him as 'Naru' Age: 18 Appearance: Bio/Personality: "It's really not all that interesting." Narumi has always considered himself to be an observer; never interfering, always watching. Call him passive, if you so prefer. He has never considered himself to be particularly interesting, nor anything out of the ordinary. Unlike his sister, he wasn't born with an exceptional artistic talent. Nor would he consider himself particularly intelligent or brilliant- and this despite the fact that he's never had a problem keeping up with school and even getting good graded while only pouring a limited amount of effort into his studies. Born into your average middle class family of four, most of Narumi's free time has either been dedicated to studying or meeting with friends. Yet due to his rather cynical look on life and sarcastic nature, few people are actually willing to hang around him. He isn't exactly your ray of sunshine. Just as he considers himself uninteresting, he sees the world in a similar light. According to his father and sister, Narumi wasn't always like this. As a child, he used to be very happy and energetic. Nevertheless, ever since his mother passed away, his smiles became a rare sight. His relationship with his father started to suffer too; arguments between the two becoming more and more frequent until they barely even spoke to each other anymore, despite living in the same house. Four years have now passed since her death, yet Naru still somehow seems unable to completely move on. Not that he shows or expresses any of this. Naru generally keeps his feelings and thoughts to himself. Despite being a good boy at heart, he can often come off as somewhat cold or indifferent. And yet sometimes; just sometimes, his kinder side manages to shine through that thick shell of is. Like for example when he decides to take in poor homeless fellow he found on the street. Quirks: ✰ Narumi has a soft spot for cats - especially strays. ✰ Narumi enjoys reading a lot. Especially classic literature. ✰ He will occasionally pick up a manga or light novel; if the plot interests him. ✰ Narumi isn't the biggest fan of heights. ✰ He's a terrible morning person. Seriously; like a dragon. ✰ His laugh is quite dorky. ✰ He always sleeps with two pillows. ✰ Narumi has reading glasses. ✰ He absolutely loathes the taste of toothpaste. ✰ Narumi enjoys spicy foods. ✰ He prefers fruits and nuts over candy. Seme/Seke/Uke: Seke ___________________________________________________________________ (first post) The day was long and hard. Especially for Ryusuke, who was laying in the middle of the sidewalk battered and bruised. It all started not too long ago. It seemed young Ryusuke had found himself in the hands of some rude teenagers. They called what they did cleaning up but Ryusuke just thought of it as cruel. When they saw him, obviously homeless, they beat him down until he was unable to move. There he now lay, unable to pick himself up from the cold, cement, sidewalk. People stepped around, even over him, never lending a helping hand. Just minding their own way. Ryusuke wasn't surprised though. He was homeless. Nobody knew who he was. He wasn't important. It was natural to be ignored like some kind of trash on the road. Was that what he was now? Mere garbage on the road. He supposed so. Ryusuke covered tried moving himself even a bit out of the way but the pain was a bit too much to bare by himself. He thought back to his friends. Were they okay? Were they eating well? They were just as lost and homeless as him. He hoped they weren't subjected to these clean ups like he was. He then focused on the situation at hand. Was he ever going to get up from this side walk? Was it useless to try? He didn't just want to give up. . .He didn't want to after all he had survived through. He bit his bottom lip, trying once more to move. He got half way up but only toppled down again. For now it was no use without help and it didn't look like he was going to get any, any time soon. If there were a god that watched over this harsh world. . .It must not have been shining on him today.
Gladis
”Hey Naru, want to hang out after school?” Narumi glanced up at his friend as he dropped his notebook into his schoolbag, arching an eyebrow. The other male was a runt. Short and always with a plaster somewhere on his face to cover a new wound. This time around it had been striped directly across the bridge of his nose. Narumi didn’t even know why the boy kept insisting on hanging out with him; but on the other hand he didn’t exactly mind either. Only just this particular afternoon Narumi didn’t feel like doing anything at all. So he shook his head as a way of reply. ”Sorry, Aki, I’ll have to decline. Homework,” he closed the sipper of his bag and slung it over his shoulders. Akihito frowned. ”Since when?” ”Since always,” Narumi replied simply, his expression retraining that look of boredom he always seemed to wear, though his eyes reflected a slight smile. ”Just because I don’t struggle to keep up with school, doesn’t mean I don’t need to do my crap,” he paused for a brief moment before nodding towards the door, ”come, we’re leaving.” Now his friend was pouting. ”What about Friday?” ”Working.” ”Saturday?” ”On Sunday, maybe,” Narumi finally gave in, shaking his head slightly as Akihito’s expression split into a grin. Well, it was better than seeing him sulk. The two boys walked together for a while, talking about this and that. Eventually they split with a ”good bye” and a wave, as they always did when they reached this street junction. The air was humid and the usual sound of crying cicadas filled his ears. There didn’t seem to be a lot of them, though, and that coupled with the that particular, sort of heavy scent hinted that it was going to rain, and that soon. Indeed, as Narumi let his gaze travel towards the sky, he could see the darkish clouds slowly gathering. Better hurry to get home before it starts pouring down. Yet Narumi didn’t get particularly far before something, or rather someone caught his attention. There he was, laying on the ground as people simply passed him by. Didn’t anyone see, didn’t anyone notice? As an observer, it was Narumi’s job to notice even details like this. Notice, not interfere. And yet there was something with the poor young man that unpleasantly enough tugged at Narumi’s heartstrings. I’m an observer, he tried telling himself stubbornly, though as he thought this, he was simultaneously crouching down and extending a hand towards the stranger. He somehow reminded him of a starved stray, he supposed. ”Hey, you all right? Can you hear me?” Narumi asked wearily, concern reflected in his emerald eyes. Oatmeal
That was it. He was done. He could feel himself slowly losing consciousness. Dark colors began to haze over his eyes as they grew heavier and heavier. He could hear his parents words in his head on repeat and it made him feel chills. He didn't think he'd hear those voices before he kicked the bucket. Though, surprisingly, those voices were replaced with this new, unfamiliar voice. It was a faint voice but it was close. "Hngh . . " Despite his bodies determination to succumb to dark unconsciousness Ryusuke willed his eyes open, raising his head slightly to see just what was happening. A person. A person in front of him. They were blurry and their words slightly muddled though he could still make them out. Was he alright? What an odd question. . .His head moved up a little more, revealing some of the damage done to him. His face was quite the scene. A black eye, cuts on his forehead down to his cheeks as well as a bruise here and there. Those guys from before really knew how to take someone down. The wounds didn't stop there but most couldn't be seen through his long sleeves and pants. Though he found himself a little distracted from this pain by the hand that was held out to him. The blur began to focus and he could see this boy, standing in front of him with what looked like a concerned expression on his features. Concern? A helping hand? Heh, Ryusuke couldn't help but chuckle. "Am I. . .dead? Dreaming?" He questioned lowly to himself. He must've been one or the other to actually think he was getting help. But as his hesitant hand actually laid into the others he found that it was real. This was no dream and he wasn't dead. This warm hand and those worried eyes were actually true and for him no less. He didn't know what to say. . .He was so in shock. Even his eyes showed his disbelief. "Ah, you're real. . .How strange." He muttered. With the aid of the boys hand he slowly tried to get himself off of the cement. . .He made it half way up though his legs became wobbly and he found himself leaning on the other in pain. The pain gripped him, over whelming him just as the times before when he tried to move. This time it was a bit worse seeing as he was practically standing, even in supporting himself on someone else. "Sorry. . .I. . .I don't have my balance. . .It hurts too much to stand upright." He managed to explain, his head resting on the others shoulders. It was obvious he needed help. More than that a place to rest and recuperate. Though he knew the only place he'd be able to take safe haven in was most likely an old alley way. He could hear a rumbling sound echo from the sky. It was going to rain soon huh? He'd have to find better shelter than just an alley way if he also didn't want to catch a cold from the rain. Gladis
"Am I. . .dead? Dreaming? Ah, you're real. . .How strange." Narumi’s eyebrows knitted into a small frown. ”Of course I’m real,” he huffed, just a small hint of irritation present in his voice. ”and there is nothing strange about it. Know what would have been strange? If I weren’t real. Now we better get you away from the ground, before somebody else steps on you,” despite the note of inpatients in his voice, he didn’t actually mean to be rude. Why nobody else had helped him so far was way beyond Narumi’s understanding of the world. Sure, it was a cold and unpleasant place… but why the heck couldn’t people just stop being so damn selfish? It pissed him off. Narumi carefully helped the young man onto his feet, taking note of that he didn’t look much older than himself. In fact, if he were to guess they had to be about the same age. He was good looking too. For a guy, that was. As he noticed how wobbly Ryusuke was on his feet, he slid his arm around the boys waist without hesitation, acting as support. "Sorry. . .I. . .I don't have my balance. . .It hurts too much to stand upright." ”Its fine, you just make sure to hold out,” that sarcastic tone from moments ago had melted away, leaving a rather gentle if not soothing voice. ”I can’t take you to the hospital on my own, so I’ll call for help. Just keep holding on to me for a while, okay?” Narumi instructed softly as he slipped his free hand into his pocket, pulling out his phone. Dialing his sisters number with his left hand proved to be more difficult than he originally thought it would be, but eventually he managed to do so, pressing the phone to his ear. ”Hi, Akari. Yes, it’s me, Narumi. Your brother? How many people by the name Narumi do you know who call you by your first name? No, I haven’t made peace with dad yet. No, you don’t need to come over with dinner. I’ll manage perfectly fine on my own. Anyway, do you have time right now? There’s sort of an emergency,” Narumi paused, listening to what his sister was saying briefly before speaking again, ”I need to take a guy to the hospital, but it’s too far a walk for me to carry him there on my own. Yes, it’s urgent. No, that won’t work. Please…” again there was a short pause before Narumi’s lips quirked into one of his rare smiles. It was slight, just barely noticeable, but nevertheless there. ”Thank you,” he said just as he felt the first raindrop hit his nose, soon followed by another. ”Uh…hurry up. We’re close to that ramen shop. Mhm. Yes. Ok, see you in a moment.” Turning his gaze to the beaten youth once again, he slipped the phone back into his pocket. ”You still hanging in there?” he asked wearily, truly hoping his sister would be arriving soon. Preferably before it started raining for real. "My sister will be here soon. She's taking the car so we'll be able to transport you to the hospital safely..." Oatmeal
Heh, yeah. He supposed it would be the strangest if the boy weren't actually real. But for someone to lend a hand his way. For someone to help out a homeless bum like him was something that he hadn't experienced through out his time being, well, homeless. He hung onto those words, hold out, as he continued to use this boy as a support. What kind of person was this? Some civilian hero? He didn't look like the type from what Ryusuke could see. No, he looked so normal. Around his age too. He'd be lying if Ryusuke wasn't thinking he was kind of cute. As the other said he'd call for help Ryusuke's amazement increased. He was actually being rescued from the street. A hospital? It sounded like the best place on Earth right now. Medical aid, food, a cushy bed. Even a shower to clean up in. As he eavesdropped on the conversation he was able to pick out this person's name. Narumi, huh? So this was the name of his savior. He'd have to thank these this boy and sister properly once he felt a little better. Right now though he knew all he could do was wait for the sister to arrive with a car so he could get to a hospital. He was a bit worried. Most hospitals didn't just up and take bums. Though he became quickly distracted by that worry when asked if he were still hanging on. Ryusuke gave a nod, assuring he was being as strong as he could. Though he could feel himself wanting to pass out he held on. Persevered. "Thank you. . ." He said lowly to Narumi, giving his gratitude best he could before feeling a few rain drops hit his head. Ah, it was starting to rain. The droplets were cold on his face but felt good on his wounds.
Gladis
”Don’t thank me yet. I haven’t done anything worthy of your gratitude so far.” Just as promised, a car pulled up by the side walk around five minutes later. Unfortunately, both boys were already half drenched at that point. What had started as gentle dripping quickly turned into a harsh downfall. The car door to the drivers seat opened and his sister hurried outside. She was at least dressed appropriately for this kind of whether; her slender shoulders wrapped in a yellow raincoat. That didn’t exactly stop her thick, dark brown hair from getting wet, though. ”Oh goodness,” murmured Akari as she took in the rather miserable sight of two drenched boys, one of which was badly beaten. ”Don’t just stand there and scoff, help me get him into the car,” Narumi scoffed, losing patience. ”Ah, sorry,” Akari slid her arm around the other side of Ryusuke, carefully pulling his arm around her shoulder. She wasn’t exactly tall, although around the same height as Narumi. When he was younger his parents had promised him he’d outgrow her because he was a boy… but it seemed like Narumi would never be taller than his sister. Just thinking about it pissed him off as well. Then again, he supposed it didn’t really matter. Even just thinking about it was rather childish. Together the two helped the wounded boy into the car, laying him down across two of the seats. Narumi got into the back, gently placing Ryusuke’s head on his lap to have it act as a pillow of sorts. Once they were sure Ryusuke was laying relatively comfortably, Akari shut the door and got back into the car. The drive to the hospital wouldn’t be long, but Narumi hoped the boy would be able to remain conscious until they got there. The best way of assuring this was the case, was talking to him. Yet about what? Narumi had never been particularly good with people. Sure, he wasn’t exactly awful with them either… but he generally didn’t speak to them without good reason. ”So…uhm…what’s your name? I’m Fujita Narumi.”
Oatmeal
Nothing worthy of gratitude? "How modest. . ." Ryusuke commented with a slight smirk. "If weren't for you I'd still be there on the ground. Take my thanks." Honestly, the boy may have even saved his life. He was far more worthy of his gratitude than he made himself believe. As the heavy rain fell, though cold, it made him feel so fresh and awake. He was much more conscious now than before due to it so he supposed it wasn't so bad that the rain had poured down on them. Finally the sister had pulled up and aided the boy with helping him into the car. Heh, if his parents had seen him like this they would have walked on by. Ignoring him. Not caring how battered and bruised he was. But these two strangers. They were so insistent on helping him. It was kinda funny when he thought about it. Strangers helping him out when his own family would pretend not to even know his name. Funny. . .yet sickening. He had settled himself comfortably in place, resting his head there on Narumi's lap. It had been so long since someone had done this for him. Of course he had friends in the same situation as him who once lent him a hand and let him rest on them. But he had gotten separated from them quite awhile ago. He could only hope they were okay. Not beaten up like he was. With his mind now quite alert he was able to pick up things a little faster, one of them being the question he was asked. His name. "Ozaki Ryusuke." He replied. "Please, call me Ryusuke." He didn't want to hear that last name. His family name. A name he denounced when he was kicked to the curb by the very people who birthed him with that name. After they had found out his secret the disowned him. He wondered what these people would do if they too knew what he was. For now they were being kind and caring so he wouldn't blow it by giving away any dirty details. "You should head to the small, free clinic." He told the sister. "I have no insurance. They won't take me any where else. . ." He knew that if they went to a big hospital he'd end up with a bill he couldn't pay. It was best to get to the small, insurance free one. Though they didn't have the best tools or staff they could at least give him something to dull his pain and bandage his wounds before sending him back off onto the streets. Gladis
"How modest. . . If weren't for you I'd still be there on the ground. Take my thanks." Narumi scowled down at him. ”I only did what’s expected of me as a human being. Don’t you dare see me like some sort of saint,” the brunet’s voice was rather cold as he spoke, ”and I’m not modest,” he added, somewhat as an after thought. And this was why people usually didn’t like hanging out with Narumi. His words would constantly contradict his actions. It was confusing at best, irritating to most. "Ozaki Ryusuke." ”Ozaki Ryusuke,” Narumi repeated thoughtfully, deciding that he liked the sound of it. Somehow, it sounded fierce. Even if that wasn’t how he would have described Ryusuke fierce right then, he liked to imagine that this guy could be pretty badass. In turn that made him wonder what had gotten Ryusuke into this sort of state in the first place; and once again made him question why not anyone had acted before him. It seemed stupid, even for the likes of human beings. "Please, call me Ryusuke." ”In that case you should call me Narumi,” was the brunet’s simple reply, his gaze traveling towards the window. Water was dripping from his hair and chin and although it was fairly warm in the car, Narumi was shivering slightly. By then the water had managed to seep all the way through his clothes. He could barely wait to get home and change into something dry. As Ryusuke asked Akari to take him to a small clinic rather than the hospital, Narumi frowned slightly but said nothing. Akari however, simply nodded her head in response to his words, giving a gentle ”all right,” as she turned left in a curve.
Oatmeal
(sorry my reply is quite late ;.; i've been rather busy unfortunately) Once they had arrived at the clinic Ryusuke found himself laid in a bed, bandaged up and medicated with something that would dull his pain, even if a little. The doctor was kind to him. Checking him thoroughly. Making sure his wounds were cleaned and covered to prevent bacteria from getting in. He was also given a new pair of clothes to slip into when he was able to leave. When it came to clinics like this they had that kind of stuff on hand, seeing as some of the patients they received were at times homeless like Ryusuke. After taking care of Ryusuke the doctor allowed him to rest before going back to speak with the two who had brought him to the clinic. "He will make a full recovery." The doctor assured. Though he didn't seem too thrilled about the good news. "Though after he recovers he's just going to wonder out on the street again. With no where to go these homeless type end up just getting hurt again. It is a shame but there isn't much we can do. As a doctor I have done my part but as to where he goes or what his future will be relies on him. Thank you for helping him though, both of you. Not many people decide to lend a hand to the homeless."
Gladis
A few days had passed since they'd first helped the boy on the street and Narumi found himself once again visiting the small clinic. He didn't know why he felt the need to continuously check on the boy. Maybe he felt bad for him because he knew the guy had nowhere to go. Maybe he was simply worried because he had been so extremely injured.... Narumi didn't know. It was unusual for him to care so much for somebody else and the notion itself sort of confused him. Sighing softly, the brunet leaned against the wall as he waited for the nurse's return. According to her, it was time for Ryusuke to leave the clinic. That meant he would be returned to the street and eventually just end up in the same situation – if he now was going to be pessimistic about it. For some reason, the mere thought irritated Narumi a lot. This was most likely the reason he was now standing there, waiting rather impatiently for that poor boy he'd found on the street. It's not like I'm here because I care or anything. Narumi tried to reason, his expression remaining unimpressed and slightly bored as he folded his arms over his chest, letting his green eyes drop down to the watch on his wrist. The nurse sure was taking her time. It'd just be too much of a bother if he ended up in the same situation again...
Oatmeal
It had been a few days since he was scrapped off of the curb and placed into this hospital. During those days Ryusuke did his best to recover and enjoy what little time he had in a nice bed. The nurses and doctors were very kind to him during his stay. A few nurses ,who were mothers, donated their sons old clothes to him. Some brought food left over from dinners and let him eat it. He wasn't going to have much to eat out there, especially a nice hot meal, and they knew that. They were much more kind then those on the outside world where they looked at him as just some bum. He looked, and smelled, much better now. He had taken a shower, gotten cleaned up. The dirt that once coated his skin was now gone, showing his rather fine, blemish free skin. His dark, short hair was soft and easy to comb through and he wore the clothes that the nurses offered him, making him look like an actual person instead of homeless. People could see him as more than trash . .well, until the clothes got dirty that is. He looked handsome even. Like an athlete, giving off this cool air. His wounds had healed nicely, his black eye near gone and cuts turning now into scars. Of course he were still sore but he was able to stand up right on his own and that was what mattered to him. Today was the day he had to leave though. With help from the nurse he was wheeled into the lobby. From there he could manage to walk out. But, he didn't. Someone had caught his eye. The boy from before who had helped him? What was he here for? Curiously Ryusuke made his way over. "Did you come to see me off?" He asked the other once he were close enough. Gladis
Completely lost in his own thoughts, Narumi barely noticed Ryusuke was approaching him. In fact, he hadn't even noticed the other boy entering the room. Not until he was spoken to did Narumi's mind flit back to reality, blinking his eyes twice before lifting his gaze to look at whomever was speaking to him. Though it didn't show on his characteristically blank features, it took a moment for Narumi to register who he was. He looked completely different from the beat up, on the brink of death youth he'd found earlier. His clothes were clean – no, he was clean too. The change was enormous and Narumi had to reluctantly admit that he looked good – handsome even. "Did you come to see me off?" "Not quite," Narumi replied calmly, his expression remaining completely unchanged as he averted Ryuske's gaze and straightened up. "I'm here to pick you up. My sister's working so she can't get us, but I'll buy you a ticket so we can take the bus. I don't imagine you have any belongings you'd like to grab before we leave, do you?" he asked, once more focusing his jade green eyes on the boy as he tilted his head to the side. His lips quirked into a very slight smile. Then he headed past him, starting towards the exit of the clinic. "Are you coming?"
Oatmeal
Ryusuke tilted his head in confusion? Pick. . .him up? What, were they going to drop him off at the nearest alley way? As the boy went on about buying bus tickets and if he had any belongings slowly Ryusuke connected the dots. His eyes widened a bit in shock. He didn't understand. Was . . .Was this real? Was this what he was thinking it was? That smile made him feel like he was going to melt from a mix of feelings that he couldn't even explain. He started to follow but only to stop the other, grabbing his wrist lightly. He met with those green eyes again, gulping down hard after finding his throat had suddenly become dry. "Where. . .Where are we going?" He asked. He needed to hear it for himself. He didn't wanna just assume.
Gladis
"Where. . .Where are we going?" Narumi paused as he felt a warm hand lock around his wrist. He wasn't sure why but the feeling of Ryuskue's grasp made his heart skip a beat. Just slightly. He didn't know why, but somehow it made him feel tingly. That's what you get from helping people. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. He chided himself as he turned around to look at Ryusuke, looking unimpressed. Yet even if his expression was cold, his eyes had a warm glow to them. "Home, of course," said Naru, as though it were the most obvious thing in the world, "while you can't stay with us forever and always, I believe there should be enough time for you to sort yourself out. Get a job, rent a room or small apartment etc." pausing for a brief moment, his eyes narrowed in a slight frown, "and before you ask 'why'; I couldn't possibly send you back to the street, could I?" thinking his heart may explode if they stayed like that any longer, he withdrew his hand and averted Ryusuke's gaze, turning around as he continued towards the exit. "It'd just be too much of a bother to take you to a clinic again," he muttered, not sure of Rysuke had even heard his terrible excuse.
Oatmeal
When that word passed though Narumi's lips. That almost foriegn word, Ryusuke's hand slowly released the others wrist after it had been pulled away then fell back to his side in disbelief. Home. Home? What home? Narumi's home? So he was being invited to live with this kid? Was that really okay? When the other gave his reason as to why he fell into an even deeper pit of confusion and disbelief. Just so he wouldn't end up beat up and in a clinic again? It was hardly a solid excuse but Ryusuke wouldn't question it. He got himself together as quick as he could, straightening up and tightening his grip on his bags, before he started to follow along side of Narumi. "I'll try not to cause much trouble then. . ." He replied. For someone who hardly knew him he was being very helpful. Hell, Ryusuke could be a thief or a serial killer. He could have been something really bad and the kid was just inviting him in. He was really kind. Though he could have been these things he wasn't and he was very appreciative. He would do his best. Work hard. Find a job and his own place. Now he'd be able to get one with a place of residence to put on his application.
