Gladis

NAME: Julie Odette Granier

AGE: 16

SEX: Female

ORIENTATION: Hetrosexual

PERSONALITY: Julie isn't a very talkative individual. This could either be because she's shy, or because she simply does't tend to enjoy the company of other people. When she does speak, it is often direct and straight to the point. The fact that her words could hurt someone or be misunderstood is rarely something she gives any thought. To some she may appear cold, but half the time she's really just struggling with how to handle the situation. Despite the complications, Julie has a warm heart and can sometimes be surprisingly stubborn. She also has a tendency to gaze up at the sky before slipping off into a day dream. This is not at all unusual.

BIOGRAPHY: Julie was born in Paris, France, which is also where she spent the majority of her childhood. Her exceptional musical talent was discovered already at a young age; although it didn't exactly come as a surprise. Her mother was a famous composer and it seemed her daughter would follow in her footsteps. Julie was happy. She loved her mother and she loved music with a passion. Seven years ago the Granier family moved to Japan due to Julie's fathers job. In the meanwhile Julie's success as a child prodegy grew with every passing year. Soon she was just as famous, if not even more so, as her mother. That was until a year ago. Her mother passed away in a severe cause of lung cancer. Ever since she played a song at her mothers funeral, Julie has refused to touch a piano. Will she ever be able to rediscover her love for music? Or did all of her passion die with her mother? Tetsu
Hey, do you still remember? That day the sun was brimming with so much light and heat. There was nothing out of the ordinary. It was one of those hot and boring summer I used to spend alone, wishing for time to pass by quick. Or that was what supposed to happen. My 16th monochrome summer was suddenly filled with so much color. I wonder why. Ahh... It must be because... I met you. "Oniichan! Goodluck! I know you can do it!" Haru said as he looked up to Shinya. The 7 year old boy was his cousin. When he first came to the Kurosawa household, he was a little bit hesitant to open up with his relatives. Not that he disliked them or anything. But as young as he was, he couldn't possibly adjust to the quick change in his environment. The deaths of his parents... and living with a family where he was an outsider. Well, as time passed by, he grew to accept reality. And before he knew it... five years had passed. "I'll win the competition just for you Haru. Be sure to watch" Ruffling the little kid's hair, Shinya's eyes glanced to his auntie, giving her an affirming nod before he left for the preparation area for the contestants. As he walked through the hallway, he could see his competitions. Some looked nervous, some were pretending to play violin in the air... some were praying. This wasn't his first competition. At the age of twelve he started to join major competitions. However, he wasn't skilled enough to get the first place. He barely made it past the preliminaries and he usually get cut off in the second round. However, this time was different. He practiced hard and he formally got a violin teacher to teach him the ropes. Well, of course, the fact that he's the son of Mizushima Takeru is a secret. The competition and one by one the contestants performed the pieces they practiced so hard. There was a big TV in one of the rooms where they could watch the performances of the contestants. Some opted not to, since it could just give them unwanted pressure. But Shinya's different. He watched them, studying each of their movements. If he want to win, he had to surpass these people. "Number 8 Kurusawa Shinya! Number 8 Kurusawa Shinya! Please get ready, your turn comes next." Gulping air, Shinya tightened his necktie as he walked to the backstage, waiting for the contestant before him finish. He practiced hard. He had no regrets even if he lost. For now... he had to do what he can. Walking to the stage, the announcer called for his name and the piece he was playing "Vivaldi Concerto in A Major First Movement". Bowing to the audience, he held the violin with his left hand and placed it against the left side of his neck. On his right arm was the bow, placing it over the strings of the violin before stroking it forward.. then backward to produce music. Gladis
Julie didn’t really want to be there. Not because she didn’t enjoy the music, because to some extent she did. Most of the contestants were playing very beautifully. It was her aunts hidden motives that irked her. Even if she saw other people compete and surrounded herself with music, it wasn’t going to change her mind. Julie had resolved never to touch a piano again and it would take a lot more than this to change her mind. ”Isn’t he playing just beautifully?” her aunt whispered in French as she leaned over to Julie, her red painted lips quirked into a smile. Anette, as she was named, looked very different from her sister. She hadn’t inherited that silky golden hair both Julie and her mother had been blessed with, but instead had thick curls of sun kissed chestnut hair tumble down her shoulders. Being no older than 29, Anette was still glowing with a certain youthful brilliance; something Julie seemed to lack at the moment. ”He missed a note,” was Julie’s cold response. It wasn’t actually directed at the boy with the violin, but more of an irritated reaction to her aunts fruitless attempts. Her patience with the woman was slowly beginning to run out. Anette gave her a not all too pleased look. ”Julie,” warned her aunt in a hushed tone. ”Excuse me, I need to visit the rest room,” she didn’t want to hear anymore. If her aunt was going to be like this, Julie had no intensions of sticking around. She knew she couldn’t actually leave, but even if she could just get away for a few minutes it would be enough to calm down. Then she would quietly endure her aunts harassment, as she liked to call it, until they were finally ready to leave. On her way to the restroom, she passed two of the contestants. Two fine young men dressed in expensive looking suits, they were, and it seemed to Julie like they recognized her. As she passed them by, they started whispering among each other. Julie hated it. Luckily, it wasn’t something that occurred too often. Usually she was only recognized by other people directly involved with the world of classic music- or individuals particularly fond of the music genre. Nevertheless it didn’t make it any less unpleasant. Especially in a place like this, people were bound to recognize her. Julie stared at her reflection in the bathroom mirror, a slight frown present on her gentle features. She couldn’t exactly splash her face with water as she felt like doing, due to the risk of messing up her makeup. Although it had been very modestly applied and she really wasn’t wearing a lot, she still didn’t want to risk it. So instead she simply took a deep breath before slowly breathing out again, shutting her eyes as she let a few moments pass. Once she felt like she had calmed down enough, she started heading back towards the concert hall. Only a little while to go…
Tetsu
With a slow backward stroke of the bow, Shinya ended his performance. At last he pulled it off. Midway he missed a note. It wasn't something very noticeable. It was a very unnoticeable error and only those in the classical music industry would be the one to notice it. He still had long way to go before he reach his father's level. Bowing in front of the clapping audience, Shinya went back to the prep room as the next contestant followed his performance. Well, listening a bit, the person had a lot of mistakes, oftentimes the violin makes a pitchy sound as though it was in pain. Too bad for the guy. He was probably swallowed by his fears... or stage freight? Not really caring anymore, Shinya went to the restroom. It's not like he had the urge to go. He just had nothing else to do. At times like this he would just wash his hands and face then go back. But on his way golden hair flowed from his eyesight. As though he was mesmerized, Shinya's eyes trailed until the young girl disappeared from his sight. She wasn't familiar. And A golden hair... she was probably a foreigner. or a gyaru. Most likely the former.
