Eric sat on the bed, watching Jessie as she left. He felt like a burden. She needed someone stronger and he...was weak. After several minutes, he got up. Walking out the door, making sure nobody saw him leave.

Jessie was already back at the party, talking and laughing with young women as if nothing had happened. He seemed perfectly happy to be flirting with the girls.

Returning to the party himself, he saw Jessie mingle with so much charisma towards the ladies that flocked to him. He felt a tad jealous, but made sure not to show. Taking a seat at the nearby table, he took one of the glasses that were set up for the guests. Watching the people, chatting, he sipped his drink casually.

Jessie glanced over at Eric, forcing himself to hide his longing. Instead he gave a friendly smile and turned back to the girls. About half an hour later Jessie's father stepped up to a small raised platform that had been built at one end of the room. He cleaned his throat into a microphone, to get everyone's attention. Jessie's face momentarily twisted in pure hatred before returning to the usual happy smile. Maxwell began to graciously welcome his guests, Linda stood by his side with a dazed smile. Jessie began to walk over to join his parents, looking to Eric for some sign of support.

Watching Jessie's father welcome his guests and seeing his mother just standing, as if in a daze, he felt pure disgust towards Maxwell. Someone he once admired, now a person he couldn't even look at without feeling pure hatred. He supposed that's how Jessie must feel on a regular bases. He watched her stand so elegant and handsome besides her father and couldn't help but watch in awe. Grinning like a lovesick fool, he kept his gaze focused on her.

Jessie hated nothing more than listening to his father speak. The man went on and on about how much his work was paying off, how the number of homosexuals was decreasing with every day. Jessie wanted nothing more than to shove the older man away from the mic and tell everyone the truth. But it wouldn't make a difference. No one in this room would believe him, except Eric. His gaze met Eric's for a moment, his heart fluttering at the loving expression. But before he could react he was being handed the mic. His father expected to be congratulated and praised for all his hard work. Jessie cleared his throat nervously and took the mic. After a brief moment of silence he began to speak, reciting the script that had been written for him, all about how proud he was to be his father's son.

It was rather heartbreaking hearing Jessie recite the script. Before, he would have wholeheartedly agree with what he said and to be honest, a part of him still believed it. He couldn't help, but listen attentively. Taking everything in. Eric shook his head. Realization hit. He trusted Jessie, without an ounce of doubt or skepticism. Jessie could tell him the sky was green and he'd believe him. What if...what if, Jessie was wrong? What if, Jessie was the insane one and everyone else were in their right minds? It would explain so many things. What if he created that binder as a way to get people to become a part of his cult-like ideals? He snapped out of it. No...Jessie wasn't insane or a deceiver. But now that he had these thoughts floating around his mind, he had some difficulty believing Jessie now.

Jessie excused himself as soon as the speech was over and hurried to the bathroom. He felt like he was going to puke with disgust with himself. He locked himself inside and pressed his forehead against the cold mirror, shutting his eyes. He knew that he wouldn't actually throw up, but if he stayed out there he would look sick.

After about twenty minutes he had managed to calm down and left the bathroom, his bright and cheerful smile back on his face.

He watched as Jessie hurried out the room. He grew worried, but decided to stay put. Or risk having suspicion thrust upon them. During the time grew was gone, he nervously stayed seated and biting his lip.

Once hedge returned, relief flooded over him. He sighed and walked over to him before he was bombarded with guests again.

"Jessie...are you feeling alright? You left in a hurry...I was a bit worried..." He muttered as hee fiddled with his hands.

"Yeah, I'm okay... I just hate saying all that stuff" Jessie murmured, trying not to think too much about what he was just forced to say. "you can head back to my room in a little bit, the party's gonna start winding down soon"

Eric frowned. "A-alright. I'm terribly sorry about all that."

He nearly gave Jessie a reassuring kiss, but stopped himself.

He gave her a small smile and headed to the bedroom. Where he collapsed on the bed. Inhaling the scent of earlier. He already was beginning to miss her.

Jessie returned to the bedroom after a little more than an hour, he looked exhausted and miserable. He shut and locked the door behind himself before flopping down on the bed with a groan.

Eric turned to Jessie and wrapped his arms around her. "How are you feeling? Do you need anything?"

He was worried about her, after all she's gone through today. He felt guilt for his earlier doubts.

Jessie shook his head and pressed his face into the man's neck. "I just want to go home... I hate this place..." He mumured, hugging Eric back as tightly as he could.

Eric nodded. "Yeah...This place is...unwelcoming. I miss our home. Sho when do we finally go home?"

He buried his face in Jessie's short hair. Living the scent that was Jessie.

"I think tomorrow... Or the next day" Jessie lightly ran his fingers through Eric's hair. "I don't think there's anything else that I'm supposed to do here... At least I hope there isn't"

Eric sighed in relief. "I'm glad. I want to go home. I miss my bed and I'm sure I've been fired from my job."

He found it sitting the way Jessie ran her fingers through his hair as he fell asleep

"You can move in with me if you want?" Jessie offered. "that way you don't have to worry about money.." He closed his eyes and kept playing with Eric's hair. "I miss my hair..." he sighed.

Eric shook his head. "I don't want to be useless. I want to be useful. I want to be used by you in anyway you see fit. I'm your humble servant and having to rely on you...it would make me feel of no use. I'll look for a new job. It won't be very difficult. I have money saved up, so I don't have to worry so much."

He frowned. "I like your hair. Though I'll admit you were very cute with your bob cut. It'll grow back, but if you're self conscious of your hair and being mistaken for a boy, we could buy you a wig if you'd like."

"Yeah... I have a couple of wigs at home because this always happens when I get brought here" Jessie snuggled up to him a little more. "I don't need you to be my servant Eric... I love you, I want you to be my equal"

"B-but I honestly like serving you. I-I want to be useful. I'm so useless. I can't think on my own. I need to be guided, because I don't know what to do. I'm like a zombie. No thoughts of my own." He murmured, stroking Jessie's hair.

"That's why...when I met you...I was so happy. I met such a strong, independent and smart individual."

"Hey" Jessie frowned and opened his eyes. "You aren't a useless zombie." He moved to straddle Eric's lap so he could look directly into his eyes. "The human mind works in a way that makes it very difficult for people to think that things are wrong if that's what they've done and has been unchallenged for their entire lives. I saw how my mother changed when I was growing up, and when I was little she was still able to talk to me about things. What I'm doing right now is like teaching people that breathing is unhealthy. It goes against so many of their beliefs and no one's ever made them think that way. I'm honestly amazed that you don't think I'm completely crazy" he smiled sadly.

Eric chuckled nervously. "There are some times that I find it hard to believe what you tell me. Since my entire life I was told things needed to be a certain way. I guess...it'll take me some time to change my way of thinking. I'm terribly sorry."

"It's okay, I don't really expect you to completely believe me right away" Jessie closed his eyes again and pressed his face into Eric's chest. "Even if you didn't believe me at all I wouldn't mind... as long as you stayed with me"
