The Plot: Genre: SoL, Drama, Romance, Mystery (May contain Horror and Supernatural)

There has always been something strangely suspicious about the town nearby. Drive a few miles to the east, head past a lake, and go into some wooded area, and you'll find yourself in a small isolated town, surrounded by trees and nature, barely big enough to have a population of fifty people. And that's pushing it. It's old fashioned, built like an Old English town, with buildings made of stone and wood. Except the thing is...there are no people. The entire town has been deserted, no signs of life at all. The place is in the middle of nowhere, with no electricity, no telephone lines, and the water you get is drawn from the lake nearby, or a well. YC's parents are nature lovers and mystery drunkies, so decided to take their son and some of his friends on a little camping trip. While there, strange things start happening. It seems the place was inhabited after all. But by what? Ghosts, or something more or less sinister? It's up to YC and his friends to find out. And it seems like that's not the only mystery here. Seems like mom and dad have a secret of their own.

It was becoming dark, the sun was setting over the trees, and dusk was settling in as the night started to take it's place in the small village of Somerset. Crickets chirp, birds coo to their kind, and the sounds of nocturnal animals beginning to wake from their slumber begin to fill the air all around. A gentle breeze blows through the trees, making the leaves rustle, and the branches sway.

It was a nice atmosphere, so calming and quiet, but that fact was overrun by the daunting detail that this village...was completely empty of people. No sign of any human could be seen, even though the houses seemed in good condition, despite their Old English appearance, made of stone, wood, and mortar. The cobbled streets were empty, and no fires were lit in the old fashioned lamps that lined the stone sidewalks. Shrubbery and flowers grew neatly in gardens or potted planters, grass grew wildly, uncut and shaggy.

Even though it was a creepy place, a small van could be seen winding through the woods that led straight to that very village, the vehicle containing a mother, father, their son, and some of their son's friends, having decided to take them all on a mystery camping vacation, the trip was to last two weeks. The woodland animals flee when they hear the engine of the van coming near, and birds call out in warning.

In shadows, somewhere in the village, something stirs. Inside one of the houses, a large stone cottage, in a bedroom, a pair of eyes slowly open, revealing glowing blue green eyes, as they do. The being in question could sense what was nearing ever closer, and moving quite fast. A frown tugs at solemn lips, and eyebrows press together. What was going on? Why were there visitors, now of all times? Standing up, they go to the window of the room, and looks out, opening the window to lean outside, a few of the ravens and crows hop aside, but do not fly away as some might expect them to do. They look at him with beady eyes, but he pays them no heed.

The boy, or so it seemed he was, was unique. He wore what appeared to be a prince's war outfit, of the old fashion, his hair was a light blonde, and around his neck was a ornate silver locket. At his waist, connected to a silver chain, was a old fashioned wind up pocket watch, that was still at the moment, it's hands still and not moving, stuck forever at the time that read 12:01. His hair was disheveled at the moment, having just woken up, and his clothing had a bit of a wrinkly look to them. But that did not matter. He was more interested in finding out what was going on, and just who was making their way to the place.

"Seems...we have visitors."

Personality

Eliot has a humorous and fun personality. Even if things may sometimes get a bit too serious, he knows how to calm things down and still, help out just as much with the problems at hand. Being the playful person that he is, he often tries to understand his parent's interests, but fails most of the time. Behind that joyous self however, is a confused and slightly wary young man. Betray him once, and he'll never act the same as he did towards you.

Saying: "Taking such an awful decision like that, Are you sure?"

Background/History:

Eliot wasn't always like this. He was a shy boy once. But he changed. He was always bullied simply because he was too shy and of his eye color. Now, he is an outgoing guy who is still pretty insecure about his eye color. He often plays video games for leisure and to calm himself down when feeling under the weather.

His parents are quite the oddity. Even Eliot is unsure about his family. But, he loves them anyway.

Extras: Is a gamer. Favorite game currently is Evil Within.

"Dad..."

The male's eyebrows perked upwards, his interest on the landscape catching up with his already heightened confusion.

"Yes, Eliot?" His father said while humming along with his wife to an odd tune.

Eliot's friends tried to get a glimpse of the scenery ahead. Bewildered and amazed, they were curious about this strange location. The road, in itself, wasn't very nice. It was a rough ride with many bumps here and there. The trees seemed to have never been touched by human hands nor did the smaller vegetation that surrounded them. One of them even caught a glimpse of a deer! The only time Eliot saw a deer was in a zoo. Moreover, it seemed that the place was flooded with birds. One specie that stood out uncomfortably was the raven; Eliot didn't really like those birds.

"...Where on earth are we?" He asked.

The van slowly stops. Ahead, or rather, surrounding them was a village; A tiny and strange village. "Ah! We're here!" His mom said excitedly. Stepping outside, the father followed. Eliot looked through the windows and with the vision he had, blankly stared at the couple as they rejoiced.

"This is so creepy...." One friend said. His name was Alexis, quite the 'I hate horror and anything related to it' guy but is the first person that comes to Eliot's mind whenever he does anything horror related. A brunette, Alexis is able to play along with Eliot to some extent but is still the more silent and less talkative boy out of the duo.

"OMG. Creepy places.... means..." A girl squealed, looking at the place in exhilaration, "....I'll finally find me some ghosts!" Her name was Claire; a bubbly and fashionable girl with a keen interest in the supernatural. This blonde didn't even breathe when accepting to go on this trip. Even at the beginning of the road trip, her interest was hooked on the village like a fish hooked on to a bait which was 5 miles away.

"I don't think the ghost will be happy to meet you, Claire. They would rather run away than meet a scary human such as yourself." A snicker left the lips of the ever so sarcastic Lauren. With swift movement, she flipped her hair to her back to add to the effect of her comment.

"Lauren~! Don't stay mean stuff like that, meanie!" Claire pouted, waving her hands in disapproval. Lauren's smile inched towards her cheek as Eliot awkwardly laughed it off while Alexis just couldn't be bothered with. "Well, are we stepping out or not?" Alexis said, breaking into Claire sudden fuss and Lauren, who was just fueling Claire's fuss.

"Ah." Eliot, Claire and Lauren said in unison before stupidly looking at each other and stepping out of the van. Eliot was the first to come out with Alexis and the other two on the other side. Wind blew, carrying dry leaves with it which hit Eliot's face and got entangled with the girls' hair. The four looked at the village, each with varying emotions.

"Well, kids," The mother started, turning around to face the others who weren't really kids, but still, "...This is it! Our place for the next two weeks." The father continued with a smile on his face.

'I don't think this is safe... But oh well.' Eliot thought, looking around the place from the place where he stood. Suddenly, Eliot's comfort levels dropped as a gut dropping feeling passed through his body. His face was calm, but his thoughts said otherwise.

As the van arrives, and parks upon the cobblestone street, a flock of ravens takes off, their raspy voices echoing in the emptiness of the village. A curtain shifts in one of the windows nearby, as it falls back to cover up the glass in which the young male from before was staring out of, watching as the vehicle came into view, and a group of people step out.

His eyes narrow dangerously as he crosses the room, his arms folded neatly over his chest. Even though he had felt like something was coming, he had hoped he was going to end up wrong, and was disappointed when he was right. These strangers were not welcome here. It was unthinkable that they stay. He wasn't going to accept their presence, and he'd do all he could to get them to leave, before they got hurt. By either him, or the town itself.

Clasping the locket around his neck, he exits his room, and descends the steps that led to the first floor of the house, and goes towards the back, leaving through the back door, away from the people who were parked out front, looking around from where they were standing, the mother and father looking at each of the houses with curious expressions, as if they were planning on staying in one of them for the trip, or to explore.

He walks down a path of rocks that was lined by a set of bushes, until he reached a large hedge, which blocked the backyard of his home, to the wild woods. His own backyard was quite wild itself, with overgrown grass, and a crap ton of bushes and flowers everywhere, it was like a jungle. Also, there was a small covered well, with ivy growing around it, and moss on the rocks, as well as the path.

Pushing past the hedges, he exits the backyard, and steps into the forest, a raven almost immediately landing on his shoulder, and he reaches up, gently running his fingers along it's glossy feathers. "Hello Ebony..." It eyes him, ruffling it's wings gently when he walks forward. After a moment, he arrives at a large woodland lake, and looks out on it, staring deep into the water. He sighs, and turns away, staring up at the sky.

Then, lowering his gaze he places a small locket, similar to his own, around the bird's neck, so the silvery piece of jewelry glinted in contrast to it's jet black feathers. "You know what to do...watch them for me. I won't make them leave yet...but for now, they can stay. I'll see what they do. But in the end, they must leave..." The bird shifts, then spreads it's wings and takes off, heading back into the village.

It lands on a lantern near where the group was, it's beady eyes now staring at them, shifting from one foot to the other as it perched there, shifting and shuffling it's wings every now and then. Whenever the group moved to look at something else, it would take off and follow, always landing nearby, keeping constant surveillance on them, not once looking away.

And, from a safe place, the male stares at the locket in the palm of his hand, which lay open. An image shows in it, of a family of three, himself, a woman, and a man, both two whom he didn't know who they were. He guessed they were his parents, but he could not remember, it was all to fuzzy and blurred, not coming in clear. Because unfortunately, he suffered from that annoying condition known as amnesia.

"I have to figure this out. Before it's too late..." He murmurs, sighing and closing the locket, and placing back around his neck, slipping it beneath the collar of his shirt. It rested gently against his chest, and he heads back to where he'd come from, climbing back into his yard from the hedges, and going back inside, returning to the room upstairs, and glancing down from his window, shifting the curtain only a little bit, so only a tiny sliver of dim sunlight could get through, as he watched the scene from below.

Wind gushed by, making Claire hold her skirt and Lauren to stop her hair from feeding her. Eliot walked towards the back of the van and waited for his parents to stop admiring the landscape and help him out. He couldn't blame them though, they finally got a vacation after a really long time. He took a deep sigh before chuckling and letting a smile shine through.

'...Hmm?' He thought, his eyes landing on his buddy, Alexis. He seemed to have wandered off although he didn't look so at the same time. Alexis stood at the left of the van, looking up at a single house without an expression. He just kept staring; didn't move from his spot either.

"This is sooooo coooooool!" Claire squeaked. Literally hopping from one spot to another; she was so excited that she couldn't even stand. Lauren couldn't help but facepalm. The squeaky girl continued and Lauren tried to calm her down. But one person didn't seem to be in this world entirely. Well, not entirely, but still.

It was Alexis.

He was still fixed on one house which had somewhat the same air as the rest of the houses but slightly fresher. "...Alexis?" Eliot called out to the male, running up to him. Alexis flinched a bit and turned around, replacing his cold expression with a smile. "Yes?" He said. Eliot looked into Alexis' eyes before eyeing the house. "What's wrong?" He asked. "Ah...." Alexis said, pausing and turning to the house, "...I felt like someone was watching." Eliot glanced at the human next to him before looking up at the house.

"Maybe,"

"Huh?" Alexis said, confused and curious to hear what Eliot has to say.

"This place actually is haunted by ghosts."

A silence fell over the two as a chill went up Alexis spine. "S-Shaddup-- S-Such things don't exist--" He said, taking a step away from the male. Eliot swung his head down to his right, looking at Alexis with a serious expression before breaking into laughter. Alexis stood there, confused, before kicking Eliot and taking his revenge. "You should have seen your face! So comical!" Eliot didn't stop laughing though. "NEXT TIME. JUST YOU WAIT." Alexis said, almost ready to strangle the other male.

"Alright, you two!" A feminine and mature voice interrupted the two in their fuss. The mother called out and next to her stood the father. "We need to take our stuff and move it into one of these houses. Let's get started." The father said, walking towards the back of the van.

"One of these houses?" Eliot questioned, looking puzzled at the statement. "What do you mean? Aren't there any people here?" The mother chuckled and waved her hand, signalling that her son was acting silly, "Nobody lives her, silly."

"That's great! That means we can check out all the houses, right?" Claire said happily. "Why not? You can start exploring right after we've settled." The father said, taking the luggage out and signalling the boys to help out. The two males looked at each other before walking towards the father and picking up the luggage.

"Guess we're gonna start exploring, huh?" Eliot said with a chuckle, taking the luggage into a house that was at the right of their van. "No pranks. I repeat, no pranks." Alexis said with authority in his voice, not wanting to be scared by Eliot for the 189th time. "Pfft--" Eliot chuckled. Following the two males were the two young females.

Staring out the window, he noticed that one of the teenage boys was looking up at the house, as if he could sense someone watching. He carefully shifts the window cover a but more, to hide himself, but it wasn't necessary as the other was soon distracted by his friend. They looked like quite the bunch of people, the parents, he guessed, looked excited to be there, same with one of the girls. The other teenage girl just kept trying to get her friend to calm down.

He was about to leave from the window, when he suddenly notices they start unpacking, and, to his utter horror and shock, began moving towards HIS house! "What the bloody hell do they think they're doing?!" He exclaims, voice incredulous. "Why, of all the houses they could have chosen, did they pick mine?" He knew he didn't have enough time to try and lock the front door to prevent them entering, but he does lock his own door, floor boards creaking as he walks across the floor to do so.

All the locks in the entire town were old fashioned, most being for skeleton keys, and his house was no exception. Everything about the place was old, but surprisingly in good condition. He could hear as the group enter the house, and begin to look around, looking for rooms to stay in. There were plenty in his house, at least one for each of the teens, plus a big master room for the parents. Each if these rooms were old fashioned and well furnished, with fancy big beds and other ornate furniture. One of the rooms was located hext to his own, his own door having a large fancily written letter 'K' on the front. His was the only room with a door that had a letter.

He feared that the others of the house would be a but more trouble, knowing how they felt about intruders. And sure enough, he could feel as one began heading to where they were, and it took all he could to just forget about keeping hidden and going to stop them, but he did not, stayng in his locked room, silent on his bed, hoping that they, the others, would just let the newcomers be for now.

As he sat there, a new presence had arrived, and not before too long, had found the group of people, and stepped out to greet them. It was a male, with medium brown hair, olive green eyes, and pale skin. He was wearing, of course, old fashioned clothing, including a white shirt with a brown vest over it, brown pants, a long navy blue overcoat, and thigh high black boots.

Smiling as he made his presence obvious, he bows in greeting. "Welcome! I know what you're thinking, 'this place is supposed to be empty' but every place like this needs a guide and someone to provide things, right? I'm just that person! Apologies for not greeting you sooner, I had things to attend to. By the way, my name is Kristoph Henrichs. It's a pleasure to meet you." He bows again, his voice having a very thick British accent. He looked quite alive, and very solid.

Sighing in relief, he relaxes. It was just Kristoph. He was decent. But the others, not so much. Laying down on his bed, he stares up at the ceiling, wondering how things would play out and end up. One, maybe more, of the people were already beginning to suspect things. If they found out the truth, what would they do? Run like the others who came before them? Or would they be different?

The group went into one of the houses, keeping their luggage in the hall after the front door. The house was just like an 18th or 19th century house. But it did have the rather fresher feeling to it. Or rather, nearly all the houses had that air to them. As if, there was something living in all of them.

"You can go put your luggage in your rooms, now." The father said, picking up his and his wife's luggage to keep in the master's bedroom. If the house even had one. More importantly, could they even find 4 separate bedrooms for the 4 of them?

Releasing a long and loud yawn, Eliot bent and stretched his back, cracking knuckles in the process. This scared the three as they were too busy admiring and scanning for enemies, like, ghosts; that was so Alexis. Alexis took a step away from the male before being scared again, this time all for of them, by a certain olive-green-eyes male brunette.

The parents, who were sorting out their luggage instead of heading to the master bedroom before doing so, were alarmed as well. They all thought that the whole town was empty. Finding a person here was a good thing to Alexis, Eliot and Lauren but not to the parents and Claire. They thought they could just roam around and explore the place with no interference but they couldn't really help it.

"Haaah..." Eliot exhaled, releasing the air he took in while yawning, "It's a pleasure to meet you as well." He smiled at the male.

Alexis flinched, meeting the eyes of the 'guide', he glared at him before looking away and introducing himself, "Pleasure to meet you. I'm Alexis and," he pointed to Eliot, "this idiot is Eliot." Eliot gasped in a comical manner before, "How could you, Alexis?!" he said in a dramatic manner; overly dramatic.

"Pfft. I'm sorry Princess Eliot, I don't think your Prince is here to save you." Lauren said before she and Claire burst into laughter. Eliot stood there dumbfounded before letting a poker face run across his face. To this, Alexis chuckled.

"Don't mind them. They're always like that." The mother said to Kristoph, smiling. "It's a pleasure to meet you, young lad." said the father.

"Oh my." Lauren said before calming down. "Ah, It's a pleasure to meet you, Kristoph," she said before letting a small formal smile peek through. "Ah! I'm Claire~ It's a pleasure to meet you~" Claire said in a happy tone while wiping the tears off her face because of laughing too much.

"Speaking of this..." Alexis suddenly started, "I thought no one lived here."

Eliot blinked. Once, twice, thrice. "Ah-- Maybe this is his house?" He said before turning towards the green-eyed brunette. "I hope we aren't barging in on your privacy." Eliot apologized with his usual polite behavior. However, Alexis wasn't all that polite. 'He... seems odd.' He thought and simply observed while taking a few steps back.

"When are we gonna keep our luggage in our rooms~?" Claire asked, her usual squeaky voice was slightly worried. She really wanted to look around and she was starting to lose her patience. She started fiddling with her thumbs as she waited for an answer. She was obedient though; she never really wanted to offend anyone.

"Ah, yes." Eliot said, "If you don't mind," he eyed the brunette known as Kristoph, "we actually wanted to go around and explore this town. If there's no one else living--" A voice interrupted him.

"There's someone else here, am I right?" Alexis suddenly said. "You're not the person who I felt a couple of minutes ago. More over, are there more people in this town?" Alexis asked, his tone being slightly pointy. Alexis was the type of person that takes a lot of time in trusting people. It took him nearly 2 years to trust Eliot and 3 years for both Lauren and Claire.

"Oh come on, Alexis. You're imagining things!" Lauren exclaimed, even thought Eliot was about to say the same thing. "No. I'm certain of it." Alexis said, not budging from his point.

'Oh jeez...' Eliot thought internally. '...but, most of the time,' he thought and looked up at the rooms, '....he isn't wrong.'

Deciding to just let Kristoph do his thing, he turns onto his side, and closes his eyes, falling asleep almost instantly. If there was anyone he could absolutely trust, it was Kristoph. Then again, there were a few others, but Kristoph was the most reliable out of all of them. He sighs in his slumber, hoping that when he woke up, it will have turned out to only have been a dream.

A smile plays on Kristoph's lips as he watched the group's reaction, listening intently as each of them were introduced. He looks to the one called Elliot and shakes his head. "Do not worry. I don't live in this house." Which was true. He wasn't lying when he said he didn't live there. "So feel free to pick rooms as you choose, there are enough for each of you, and one master room for you." He looks to the parents when he says this.

Clasping his hands behind his back, he looks to each of them, feeling how antsy some of them were. He could tell that they wanted to look around freely, which he had no problem with. "Do not fret. You can explore all you want. I'm just here to help you if you need it, and to be at your service." He smiles widely, his eyes twinkling gently. "You can do all you wish, I do not mind at all."

He then looks to Alexis. "There is only one person living here." He pauses, smiling a bit more. "And no, there is just one person. No one else lives here. Well then, do you have any other questions? If not, the bedrooms are upstairs, and the master room is down the hall to the left, the door with the flower design on front." He points in each direction, in which the places he spoke of were located.

"Now, I shall take my leave so you can all get situated. If you ever need me, just call, and I will be there." Placing a large ring of skeleton keys down on a table, he looks to the parents. "You'll need these." He bows again deeply, before turning around and leaving the room, disappearing from view in the dark hallway. There was a reason he said the things he did about there being only one person living there. The keys set on the table held the keys to every house, room, and place in the town, all except to the door of the room room upstairs with the 'K' on the front.

The group watched silently as the male left them. Maybe Alexis was wrong. Whatever it was, the problem at hand was not about who lives in the house or the whole town but the fact that they had an impatient Claire at their hands.

"Guys... can't we just go upstairs already?" Claire asked, crossing her arms with a pout on her face.

"We'll be in this house setting up everything. If you need anything, just come back here." The father said, smiling at the group of friends. "Ah, sure then. You'll start exploring tomorrow?" Eliot asked, slightly confused. He walked over to the table where the large ring of skeleton keys were kept. "We'll have to unpack before we can explore~" The mother said. Eliot picked up the keys and made his way to the master bedroom.

"Let's get going then. Keep the bags upstairs, unpack a bit and explore the house first before exploring the other houses. How does that sound to you, Claire?" Alexis asked, picking up his luggage and Lauren's luggage as well. Claire's eyes shone with acceptance and rush of excitement. She gleefully skipped around, picking up her bag which was way lighter than her luggage and started to walk up the old staircase. Lauren soon followed the female with her bag which was slightly less heavier than her luggage. Eliot unlocked and opened the door to the master's bedroom, letting his parents take hold of the room as he climbed the staircase to the upper rooms of the house.

"Well, let's get going," Eliot said, picking up the luggages from his friend and going upstairs, where he kept them down again and letting Lauren take her luggage. He soon climbed back down and took the other two luggages from Alexis as Alexis could finally climb up.

"Alright! Time to select our rooms~!!" Claire said ecstatically, running towards a random room and selecting it. "Wait up Claire!" Eliot said, running after the girl. He unlocked the door which Claire picked and soon the female ran into her new home for 2 weeks. "Eliot, over here!" Lauren called out, standing in front of the room next to Claire's. "I'm no key carrying guy, Lauren. Geez." Eliot said, sighing before walking over to her and unlocking the door to her room. "I know. But you are for now." Lauren said with a smile and patted Eliot on his back. Eliot just stared at the other human, raising his brow in the process.

"Hey, Eliot! Come look at this!"

"What now?" Eliot mumbled, turning around and noticing his male friend standing in front of an odd room. Lauren, who was also confused, walked to the door with the key handler for the day. "What's up?" Lauren asked casually. "Look at the letter on the door," Alexis said. "Huh?" Eliot replied.

"It's a K."

"What about it?"

"What's your nickname for your in-game name?"

"K--"

"OH!" Lauren and Eliot said in unison, realizing what Alexis was trying to tell the two. "Can we open it?" Lauren asked, trying to turn the knob and open it. Didn't really work though. "Maybe there's a key..." Eliot said and started to search for the key of the room. He tried each key that he hasn't opened a door with in the house; didn't find one. "Well, I guess this room is locked?" Alexis suggested. "But the key is lost-ish." Said Eliot.

"It's not worth it, I'll just take the room next to this one." Eliot said and walked over to his chosen room, opening and unlocking it. "Here's the keys, Alexis!" Eliot said, calling out to his mate.

"Wait what--"

"Heads up!"

Eliot threw the keys and Alexis barely missed it. "Eliot, You KNOW how bad I am at catching!" Alexis fumed at the other male. "Haha! Well, someone has to open your door!" Eliot said and took his luggage into his room. "Guys, assemble, take your baggages and unpack!" Eliot said with enthusiasm.

"YES!!" Claire said with enthusiasm, suddenly showing up from out of no where.

"Sure." Lauren said and took her luggage, quietly going to her room.

"We're not pirates or something, you know." Alexis said with a sigh, taking his luggage and going to his room.

"We're adventurers in a way." Eliot said with a smile and took his luggage to his room.

And so, the young adults started to unpack with varying attitudes to the town and situation they were in.

Eyes closed, he senses that Kristoph was gone, and now it was just himself and the visitors. Sighing softly, he realizes it had gotten louder, the voices were coming closer, and before he knew it, the teenagers were standing in the same hallway his room was on. His eyes open quickly, and he sits up, carefully getting off of his bed, and halfway over to the door, his knob suddenly jiggles.

Freezing mid step, he stares at the door, watching it jiggle again, hearing the voices right outside. His breath catches in his lungs, and when the voices move away abut he sighs in relief, before backing away and clambering up onto his bed again.

As he hears someone moving in the room right next to his own, he sighs again. 'Why me?' He thinks to himself, closing his eyes and covering his face with his arm as he lays on his back. He was exhausted already, and he'd just woken up a few hours ago. This was ridiculous.

"Just go away!" He groans, his voice moving around the entire house, echoing all around every room, like a wind of change, or a ghostly wail. He hadn't even meant to say anything out loud, and cringes, rubbing his forehead with his fingers, now annoyed with himself.

A noise at the window distracts him from his annoyed attitude, a tapping sound. He lowers his arm, and looks over, seeing it was Ebony, who was tapping it's back against the window lightly. A soft smile forms on his lips, the large jet black bird always managed to cheer him up, even if it was just a little bit. Getting up from the bed, he crosses over to the window, and opens it, allowing the bird to hop inside, and onto his arm.

One would notice that these particular birds, both ravens and crows, congregated in large bunches around this house,a if it were a certain meeting place for them to gather. Most do not appreciate these birds, but he loved them. He understood them, and they understood him. He often associated himself with them, they were seriously misunderstood creatures.

Closing the window again, he sits on the edge of a chair in the corner of the room, smiling as Ebony rubbed it's soft, warm feathers against his cheek, as if trying to comfort him. He reaches up and ran his fingers against the glossy black body, an almost purr like sound coming from the bird. "You always know what to do huh...?" He murmurs, sighing softly once again.

He just wished he knew an answer to what he should do about these new people...hopefully they weren't planning on staying for very long.

(Interaction will happen soon, I promise)

  • 2 weeks later...

Eliot was unpacking all his stuff while singing to a new song that was stuck in his head. It wasn't his fault that an annoying song got stuck in his head, it was because of Claire. She really loves pop songs and especially One Direction. Eliot could never really understand as to why Claire even got obsessed with that band where as Alexis could care less.

".....Huh?" An air of silence fell upon the boy. He was his empty luggage under the bed when he thought he heard something. He stood straight and looked at the ceiling, and then at the wall that was connected to the next room; the room that had the initial 'K' on it's door. '...must be my imagination.' He thought and sighed, looking at his bedroom for the duration of two weeks.

"LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOO! THIS TOWN IS WAITING TO BE UNCOVERED!" Claire shouted, kicking Eliot out of his temporary dreamland. "She's really energetic, huh?" He said to himself and walked towards the door, unlocking it and revealing himself to the hyper female. "Come on Eliot, we haven't got all day!!" Claire said, extremely excited about finally being able to explore the town. "Hold your horses Claire, Alexis and Lauren haven't--" His words were cut off by the people who weren't supposed to be done with their unpacking.

"What about us?" The two said in unison as the emerge out of their respective rooms. Eliot shrugged and said, "Well, the full roaster is here, what's there to waste?"

Claire's face beamed, she started jumping and shouted, "Let's gooooooooo~!!" where running down stairs. "That's dangerous, Claire!" Eliot shouted out, but it was no use. "You think she'll stop?" Lauren said, noticing that Claire was in no mood to stop now. The trio sighed as Claire exited the house. They too followed.

Outside, the wind was soft and didn't blow as much as it did when they arrived. The trees swayed and it didn't feel as eerie when they came. This somehow calmed Alexis; to some extent. The trio followed the bubbly and seemingly out-of-control Claire.

"Let's check that one out!" Claire said with a burst of excitement. The house that she was pointing at was the one that was at the edge of the town. It seemed a whole lot more creepier than any of the other houses and didn't help by sending several chills up the trio's spines. They all glanced at each other before glaring at Claire with a 'you want to go in there?' look. Claire pouted, "Come if you want to!" and walked towards the house. Eliot glanced up the house before releasing a heavy sigh. "Do I really have a choice?" He said before walking to the house and opening it for Claire. Alexis, who seemed to be spooked already amused Lauren. She absolutely loved teasing the young man. "Yup, what choice do we have? Right, Alexis?" She said with a grin, grabbing Alexis' arm. "Yeah-- uh what--" Alexis said, whose face became pale when he saw Lauren's grin. He shook his head before Lauren pulled him towards the house. Claire hopped in first with Eliot following along with Lauren and an Alexis whose last words before entering that house echoed in the whole town, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO~!!!"

It wasn't Alexis' week at all.

The people leave, and the house becomes silent once more. Sighing softly, he gets up from the chair he'd been sitting in, Ebony still perched on his shoulder. Walking over to the window, he pushes the curtains aside, staring out at the scene before him, dusk making the town seem softer around the edges.

"Looks like it's time to go..." Opening the window, he quietly jumps out, landing nimbly on the ground below, silent as a shadow. Straightening up, he looks around, then up as Ebony takes off in the air. The raven flies away, and he follows her, knowing she was showing the way to wherever those teenagers had gone off to.

He wasn't looking forward to it, but he realized that it was time to make his presence known...but not completely. Not yet, anyways. Quickly, he walks along, arriving at the house right as they enter it, hearing a yell of protest. Wincing, he wanted them to shut up.

Hiding, he slips after them, keeping to the shadows. After a moment, he speaks up. "I wouldn't go any further if I were you. Not unless you want to end up getting your bodies torn apart, limb from limb. Because if you don't leave...that's what will happen."

His eyes glint in the darkness, but even if he was noticed, he easily slips away, like he was nothing more than a tendril of smoke drifting in the wind. There one second, gone the next. "But really. If you value your lives...I suggest you leave this house." Continuing to watch them, he felt a blast of cold air, and looks to the stairway, his breath now showing in white puffs, as the temperature drops drastically.

"JUST GO! NOW!" He yells this, urgency in his voice. He just hoped they would listen.

(Sorry it's a bit short)

"Who said that?" Eliot questioned as Claire's eyes started to glisten.

They all heard it, There was no doubt about it. Even Alexis couldn't get away with the excuse of, 'I heard nothing!'. Claire wasn't really scared, she was astonishingly fearless even though we heard someone warning the youngsters.

"....Did.. the temperature.... just drop?" Lauren asked with breaks in her voice as she rubbed her hands together to create heat for herself. Alexis, who was more scared than any of them, took a quick glance at Lauren and hesitantly said, "You're-- J-Joking r-r-right?" Eliot looked around the place and suddenly felt an instinct to leave, but he couldn't. "Guys, let's go."

"Eh? No way! This is what I wanted to happen!" Claire shouted at the group, pouting in disagreement with the male. "Claire, we should really leave... the temperature just dropped!" Lauren said with cracks in her voice; she started to shiver. "That's no problem!" Claire twirled on her feet and faced the group, "We can just use some tricks and protect our selves. Besides, to communicate with ghosts is such an honor!" She said with a happy grin and slight blush on her face; though that might have been the makeup.

"If having this honor means that our heads will be chopped off, then any human would turn it down!!" Alexis suddenly shouted, before even Eliot could react, and much to all the youngsters surprise. "Claire, we have no idea how to exercise or any of that bullshit. We need to leave." Eliot said and grabbed Claire's hand, pulling her with him to leave the house.

Lauren and Alexis followed but Claire made them delay this departure as she was reluctant and just didn't seem to move. They were running out of time as the temperature could make teeth chatter. "I'll talk to the ghosts! It'll be fine!" Claire said reluctantly. But Eliot furiously objected, "For the last time, no!" However, they weren't making any progress.

To his dismay, they didn't leave right away. Time was ticking and if they didn't get out, they'd end up dead. He begins to get angry, a feral growl growing louder ad louder coming from the back of his throat. They head towards the door, the temperature getting colder and colder.

As they begin to argue more, he'd had enough, and moves behind them, and shoves the girl who was protesting out the door, as well as the others. "Move it you bloody idiots!" He too exits the house, slamming the door behind him and standing in front of it, just as something slams into the wood, making his body jerk slightly. Sighing in relief, he taps the lock with his finger, making it click as it locks back up.

"When I say to leave a place...you better listen." Pushing off the door, he straightened his clothes, which were extremely old fashioned and yet looked quite amazing on him, and glares at them all. Without another word he pushes past them, and starts to walk away, his annoyance showing even in his footsteps. He mutters and grumbles under his breath, kicking a rock and sending it flying. "Idiots, bloody wankers, incompetent fools!"

Why did people never listen? It got on his nerves. As he walked, Kristoph suddenly appears next to him, and walks beside, matching his footsteps. "Are you alright young Lord?" He asks, worry etched on his face. "I'm fine Kristoph. I'll be even better once these intruders leave." A angry look forms in his eye, and he kicks another rock.

"Yes well, 'intruders' aside, you do realize we're being followed?" He points back, where the four were at. "You deal with them." Kristoph bows, a smile upon his lips. "Of course." Stopping, he turns to face the four, while the "young Lord" continued on, turning the corner and disappeared from view.

"Looks like you've had a little run in with the young Lord, the one who lives here. And you've upset him. That's no good, no good at all. Sir Eliot, Sir Alexis, Miss Lauren, and Miss Claire...I suggest you return to the house, or, if you wish to stay out, refrain from going in any of the houses besides the one you're staying in. Only during the day should you go into any of the other homes. And also, whatever you do..." He grins here. "Don't upset the young Lord any more than you already have."

"The Young Lord?" Eliot repeated. Claire stared at the house that the group exited with teary eyes. She really wanted to explore, but it seems like the Young Lord absolutely hated that. Alexis and Lauren didn't mind it though, they were more than happy to be out of that house. The duo sighed heavily in relief.

'So he's the one that resides here...' Eliot thought, staring at the figure of the Young Lord as he walked off.

"More importantly, what do you mean by 'don't visit the other houses during the night'?" Alexis questioned the green-eyed gentleman. He was pretty concerned; even if he couldn't get out of the house, at least he'll have some knowledge about the mysterious place.

"It was freaking freezing in there!" Lauren shouted. Though she seemed strong, Lauren had gone through some spooky incidents. "Are there ghosts in this place?! More importantly, isn't this place way too suspicious?!" She shouted, almost going paranoid. Alexis, realizing the seriousness of the situation and Claire, who couldn't see her best friend in this state, stepped in and tried calming her down.

Eliot, who was watching, took a heavy sigh and looked at Kristoph. "The room in which that Young Lord lives," He said, "It's the one in the house we reside with the initial 'K' on the door, am I right?"

"Let's go. We'll go eat dinner and talk about stuff. Maybe even play some games while we're at it." Alexis said. He can be pretty sweet at times; though those occasions are very rare. Claire smiled at Lauren and whispered into her ear, "It's alright now. Let's go home." Lauren started to calm down, her breathing becoming steady. "O-Okay..." She simply said. Alexis and Claire escorted her to the said house.

"Are you gonna come with us or catch up later?" Alexis asked, stopping in his tracks to ask Eliot. Eliot looked at his friend, who turned his head around, and nodded. With that confirmation, the 3 left.

"Ghosts, huh. I'm not surprised." Eliot said, scratching the back of his head.

"Yes, the Young Lord." He confirms, nodding once. "And to answer your question, young man. Why you should not go out at night has two responses. The first is, the young Lord wishes it so. He may not show himself that often, or act like he cares, but he is highly concerned for your safety. He wishes nothing more than to see that you do not get hurt, or worse. And the second is, it's dangerous. Don't go messing around with things you know nothing about." He turns his attention to Lauren, but doesn't answer her question about ghosts, or how the place was suspicious, falling silent.

A small smile plays upon Kristoph's lips as he watched the group of teens converse, not saying anything to bother them, just standing there quietly, waiting. It was apparent that he was amused by this scene, but did not speak up, just watching as three of the four eventually leave, leaving just Eliot behind, who said he'd catch up with his friends later.

"Your friends are astute. Ghosts...Do you believe in them?" He looks intently at Eliot, that same smirk of amusement upon his lips, before clasping his hands behind his back. "Spirits, ghosts, specters, phantoms. They go by so many different names, but all are the same. Are they real? I do believe they are." He smiles a bit more. With a wink, he vanishes, disappearing in thin air, leaving Eliot to stand by himself in the middle of the street.

Walking quick, he grumbles even more, heading back to the house, glancing behind him after hearing voices. So, they were returning were they? Better pick up the pace. With those thoughts in his head, he quickly reaches his home, and as nimble as a cat, he jumps up to his open window using ledges, before climbing inside and closing the window behind him, locking it with the latch hook.

Fixing the curtain so none could see inside, he sighs. "Why does this all have to be a bloody nightmare?" He mutters to himself, wearily walking over to his bed and falling onto it, face first into his pillow. This whole evening had been a pain, one things after another, and he had a feeling things weren't going to be ending very soon. All four of those annoying teens had their way of making him ticked off, especially that girl. She just didn't know how to listen.

The only one who seemed somewhat rational was the one he'd heard been called Eliot. The one who was now rooming in the bedroom next to his. Turning onto his back to stare at the ceiling, he wonders just what was going to happen. Things weren't going for the best, but at least nothing too seriously catastrophic had happened, so he guessed...he'd allow them to stay even longer. He'd been planning to make them leave the next day...but who knew?

Eliot watched as the man named Kristoph disappeared.

"Spirits, ghosts, specters, phantoms. They go by so many different names, but all are the same. Are they real? I do believe they are."

'I don't think that's a good answer, Kristoph.' Eliot thought and scratched the back of his head. He was confused, tired and it was just the first day. He walked off, back to the house to check up on the girls; one who was not so happy and the other who was super bummed about not being able to see the ghosts.

"Lauren, how are you feeling?" Alexis asked the female, who was sitting on the bed of Eliot's room. They decided to wait there for the young man.

"I feel better." Lauren simply replied and looked up to see Alexis with a mug in his hand. It was hot chocolate that Eliot's parents prepared for the group. With a sniff, Lauren's smile returned. She had a sweet tooth and anything related to chocolate is her absolute favorite.

"Here you go." Alexis said, handing the hot chocolate to the said female. Claire watched as she sat beside the female. Lauren took a sip and immediately became happy. "Thanks." She said with a soft smile. Claire lightened up as well, seeing her best friend become happy again. She patted her friend on the back lightly, not being able to say anything.

Meanwhile, Eliot stood outside the door with the attached initial 'K'. 'I hope I don't die.' He thought jokingly and eyed the door from top to bottom, second guessing the thought that he second guessed of the thought that he second guessed of his initial thought of talking to the Young Lord. He's used to over-thinking; it's a trait of his.

He took a breath in and knocked on the said door. "Excuse me, 'Young Lord', I'm Eliot." Manners, he certainly knew what to do. All he wanted to do was apologize to the 'Young Lord' and not spark anything. Moreover, the young lord knew the place better than anyone.

"Could I have a few minutes of your time? I wanted to talk about the earlier 'incident'." He simply said. Know all he hoped for was that the other male would accept and he wouldn't feel like someone was glaring and shooting daggers at him. Or so he thought.

He could hear the conversation in the other room, between the three that had already come ahead of their friend, making him sigh in annoyance. Why couldn't they just go to sleep? It was well past eleven, going on twelve o'clock at night, and he'd had to deal with their mistakes, which made him even more exhausted than he already was. Living alone was so much more easier than having guests.

Just as he was about to doze off and fall asleep, laying comfortably upon his medium sized bed, a knock comes at the door, then a voice. It was that of the one called Eliot, and from the words that he heard, this Eliot at least knew how to use manners. Slowly sitting up, he stares at the door, not sure if he should answer, or just keep quiet and pretend he hadn't heard anything.

At first he decides to just ignore Eliot, until he hears the other speak up again, making him frown, and decide it would do absolutely no good to even try to feign ignorance on hearing the words. So, he once again climbs off of his bed, and walks over to the door, reaching out and unlocking it, his hand holding on to the door knob, not opening it at first, just standing there for a moment or two.

Then, rather slowly, he opens the door, and glares at the one named Eliot, a look of pure irritation on his face. "What the bloody hell do you want?" He crosses his arms over his chest, not moving from inside his room, staring out into the hall at the other male. "If you want to talk, then make it quick. I'm tired, and want to sleep." He yawns to emphasize his point, it wasn't fake, it was real.

Leaning against the doorway, he taps his foot in impatience, waiting for the other to speak. Why did this Eliot want to talk with him about what had happened earlier? Wasn't it obvious? Or was he one of those skeptical types, who had to get all the answers, no matter what? He truly hoped not, he couldn't deal with another one of that type. It was too much work.

"By the way, before we start any kind of conversation...can you please tell your friends to quiet their chatter? It's giving me the headache of a century." He hoped the other would do that, and heads back into his room, taking a seat on his bed, leaving the door open to show that Eliot was welcome to come in, though he did so rather reluctantly. Having others in his room was irksome.

Eliot, who wasn't exactly prepared for talking with the male, took a step back as the male opened the door to talk to him. 'I hope I don't di--' his thought train took off but his brain tried to calm it down.

"If you want to talk, then make it quick. I'm tired, and want to sleep."

'Ah. No wonder.' He thought as he saw the male yawn. 'We did barge in to his house, I wouldn't be surprised if he sued us or something.'

"By the way, before we start any kind of conversation... can you please tell your friends to quiet their chatter? It's giving me the headache of a century."

"Sorry about that." Eliot said, referring to his friends. He took a step to the right; a huge step, in a way where he was partially in view to the other youngsters.

"Eliot!" Claire exclaimed, who spotted him first. "What are you doing th--" Before Claire could explode in happiness, thinking that they could do an all nighter and have fun with games, Eliot shushed her. "Shhh! Go back to your rooms." He said. Claire, who was confused was about to open her mouth, "Or, we could sleep late and not do anything tomorrow if that's what you want." stopped and quietly walked to her room when Eliot spoke.

"We'll go as well." Alexis said and went back to his room as Lauren went back to her room, bowing a bit before Eliot, gesturing her apology about being loud.

Eliot smiled and took a huge step back, where he was back in full view of the room belonging to the Lord. "Excuse me." He said as he entered the room. It was a custom of his to excuse himself entering anyone else's room. A weird custom, but it's what he did; simply because he didn't want the other person rage quitting on him later.

"I won't take much time, it's just a few questions that I want answered so that we won't cause you much trouble." He was pretty straight forward but that's a given.

"First of all, I'll apologize on my parents' and friends' behalves. Strangers suddenly deciding to barge in on your privacy is very annoying." He said, his hands in his pockets.

"Second, could you perhaps fill me in on this town's history?" He said and then smiled, "Maybe also with a list of do's and don'ts?" His eyes scanned the room and then to the window in the room. Alexis felt it and so did he, something was fishy. Eliot needed to know what so that his friends' and family wouldn't get hurt. "You know, ghosts don't really like intruders, if I'm not mistaken." He said, returning his gaze to the male and smiled. He didn't mean to be a threat, but ever since Kristoph said those words, Eliot needed to be on his guard.

Silence fell over the house. It was nearing midnight afterall.

Sighing in relief when Eliot tells his friends to be quiet, almost immediately the sound level in the house drops considerably, making him half way content. He'd be completely at ease once this was all over and he no longer had to deal with these visitors any longer. Having guests was always a chore, and a complete pain in the ass, which was why most of the time he had Kristoph deal will things.

That was, until people like these showed up and he actually had to deal with them directly. Turning his gaze to Eliot, who had entered the room, he looks to the male, crossing his arms over his chest, a semi-irritated expression on his face, but not so much as before. Nodding, he truly hoped it wouldn't take long, he was struggling to sit up and stay awake, his body was completely exhausted from this terrible day.

"You're right. It is annoying. VERY annoying." His eyes narrow, a small frown on his lips. "Especially when they don't listen to, and do exactly what they are told, when I tell them to. But, that aside, I accept the apology. But only this once. If you, or your friends or parents mess up again, I'm going to make you leave. No questions asked, no maybe's, no exceptions." He then falls silent, allowing Eliot to continue.

His frown grows more, when he was asked to tell about the history. He didn't feel like telling the secrets of his home, or even himself, just yet. Ignoring this, he answers the second part, about a list of rules. There were only a few, but they were all important.

"No exploring at night, stay indoors at that point. This house is the safe place. Whenever I tell you to do something, you do it. Period. Only go out during the day. If you want to visit the woods, I, or Kristoph must accompany you. Do not bother me about trivial things, or wake me. I need my sleep. If you follow these rules, you'll be fine."

With the last comment made by Eliot, something within him changes, and irritation flashes in his eyes. Standing up from where he'd been sitting on his bed, he glares at the other male. "You're right. They don't like intruders. And neither do I!" With that, he moves to where Eliot was standing, and begins to shove him towards the door, rather weakly considering how tired he was.

Close to the door, he gives a great shove, at the same time exclaiming a loud "GET OUT!!!" Slamming the door behind him, and attempting to lock the door, but failing to do so. He leans against the wall next to the doorframe, his knees giving in, and he collapses to the floor, unable to stand any longer. His body slumps slightly, eyes closing. Deciding to tell Eliot the history later, if at all. "Damn it all to bloody hell..." He mutters, feeling dizzy. All this happening was tugging terribly at his health. It had been one day, but that was enough to send him in a spiralling nosedive into terrible health.

  • 2 weeks later...

He was rolling on his bed, wondering about the boy next door. It was odd, he thought he may get some answers but was kicked out with none. 2 Hours had already passed since he was kicked out.

All he remembered, or was able to understand,

Was that a loud, "GET OUT!!!"left the Young Lord's mouth and he was thrown outside of the room. It was a given though. He knew that something would happen which would involve him getting kicked out. But that was two hours ago, it's the past. Now, the young lad was rolling on his bed, not able to even shut his eyes as sleep forgot him. He stopped and turned his head, glancing at his phone as it read '2:13 AM'. His eye brows narrowed, figuring that he wouldn't get much sleep tonight.

He shuffled a bit before going from sleeping on his stomach to sleeping on back. He ruffled his hair in frustration, the lack of sleep was getting to him. "Me and my big mouth.." He mumbled, cursing himself for the opportunity he blew up. The night didn't make him feel better either. He would like it if it wasn't for the eerie atmosphere of the night; it wasn't particularly pleasing.

'Ghosts, huh?' He thought, going back to the sentence that was successful in irking him. " 'You're right. They don't like intruders. Neither do I!' Is it..?" He mumbled, groaning softly as he pulled up his sheets over his head. He liked the warmth, till he started to suffocate, and then he gave up. He pulled down his sheets and took a deep breath in. 'Why do I keep doing that?' He questioned himself and his intelligence for a brief moment before deciding to drop the thought and clear his mind.

'I wonder how Lauren is...' He thought, thinking back into his past encounters with ghosts. He wasn't really a believer of the supernatural beings, until the mass supernatural murder occurred in his first middle school. That event changed his outlook in life. And it all began with a mysterious paper that was being passed around in school. It had Sanskrit writings on it but the instructions for the 'game' was pretty much known to the entire school. It was simple; sit in a circle with more than 3 people, place the paper in the middle with a candle on it and dim the lights. It was suggested to darken the room completely and that the candle shouldn't be lit. The group would then have to breathe in sync and repeat the chant, 'Oh Liara, We call thee to show thy self. Oh Liara, We summon you so heed our words.' If it worked, the candle will light up on it's own. That was the main attraction. However, what the children didn't know was that they just summoned masses of demons who quickly killed and ate the souls of 200 kids. Lauren, who played the game, was scarred for life.

As Eliot kept going through the memories in his head about his previous ghostly encounters, he stopped and thought, 'What if this place is much more sinister than what I initially thought?' Then, He dawned on a question that he cursed himself for not asking. His parents weren't stupid; they always did their bit of research before going anywhere. If that was the case, then...

"Why did my parents bring us here?"

Two hours had passed since his outburst, two hours had crept by, inching forward like a snail, as he lay slumped against the wall of his bedroom, eyes closed, drops of sweat beading his forehead, his face pale but his cheeks flushed. His breathing was labored slightly, coming in shallow gasps through lips that were parted half way, and it was obvious he was in pain. His entire body felt numb, his limbs heavy like bricks.

He felt as if he were on fire, but at the same time, he felt so cold, shivering again and again. His eyes flicker behind closed eyelids, as thoughts and images flash in his head. Visions of things that had happened in his past, things that he would not remember the moment he wakes up. Gruesome things, blood, death, bodies everywhere. And there he was, standing in the middle of it all, his body that of a child, feet bare, in the middle of the cobblestone town square, an ocean of crimson around him, his feet and clothing bathed in red, holding the knife that had killed each and every one of them.

It seemed so long ago, that day. And it had been. He'd lost count of how many days had gone past since that incident, how many suns and moons he'd seen move over the horizon, how many seasons changing he'd witnessed. Birth, Life, Death. He'd seen it all. And yet he was destined to see more, for much, much longer.

Shifting slightly, his heart beating fast, he grimaces in his sleep. The images getting darker, more gruesome. Eyebrows press together, and he begins to freak out in his sleep, heart beat racing, until he wakes up with a yell, now drenched in sweat, breathing hard, and feeling even worse than he had been when he'd fallen asleep. "D...damn..." He places a hand over his eyes, tears spilling over his cheeks. He could not remember what had happened. He never did.

Walking through the house, Kristoph was currently checking up on the guests of the main house, seeing if they were doing alright. He hears the yell coming from the Young Lord's room, and sighs softly, shaking his head. Seems he'd had another night terror.

In this condition, he knew that the Young Lord would not even tolerate him, so keeps doing as he was, his last stop being the room that belonged to the young man named Alexis. He steps in front of the door, and knocks softly. "Excuse me, it is Kristoph. Is there anything I can get you?"

It was his duty to take care if the people in the house, and seeing if they were comfortable or needed anything was his job. There wasn't any reason in particular as to why he ended on Alexis' room last, that was just how it played out. He waits there, hands held behind his back, as he waited a response.

Eliot's senses were shaken abruptly due to the yell that erupted from the room next door. He wasn't asleep, definitely wasn't; he was just too immersed in his thoughts that he forgot it was night time and the obvious time to sleep. Yes, He forgot sleep itself for those 20 minutes. Now, he was confused.

'Is the Young Lord okay?' He thought. He sat up, turning to the wall that connected to the said male's room. 'Should I check up on him?' He thought, staring at the wall for a while before leaving his bed, standing up and slowly, yet softly walking outside. He glanced at the room next to him and walked towards it.

'Should I?' He asked himself, standing in front of the male's room that previously kicked him out. Looking at the initial that hung on the door, he took a breath in and knocked on the door. Not too loud, yet, not too soft.

"Are you okay?" He simply asked.

'Maybe I should go in.' He thought. And without thinking twice, he opened the door, which was surprisingly unlocked, and stepped into the room. What he saw, widened his eyes a bit. Sitting on his bed was the young lord, who was strong enough to kick Eliot out and seemed to be mentally strong as well, crying or at least was crying but it didn't take an Einstein to figure out that something shook him to the extent that he started to cry.

"Excuse me," He said, trying to not step over the limit, "Are you alright?" He asked. He was worried for some odd reason. But he could never really stand people crying, it was one of his special traits.

Then, he walked up to him, seating himself beside the male and patted his back. "This used to help me a lot when I was younger." He simply said, a smile crossing his lips. He didn't know why he did that. He just did so. He hoped so much that the male would just stay put, for a little while, at least.

Meanwhile, Alexis noted the sound of footsteps getting close to his room. It was definitely not Eliot's footsteps, he would never walk like that.

Alexis' eyebrow perked up as he collected his blanket and gripped onto it tightly. He never liked the place they were in, it creeped him out to no end. And, yes, He was still awake. Most probably because he couldn't sleep due to the horror themed town.

And then, a knock on his door."Y-Y-YES--?!" He stuttered, freaking out a bit at the knock. It was the middle of the night, who the heck could it be? Alexis' grip on his blanket tightened as he scrambled to put the blanket over his head.

"Excuse me," Alexis' heart jumped at the person, or thing who just spoke, "it is Kristoph." 'Kristoph?' He thought, calming himself down knowing it wasn't some demon coming to kill him off. 'Oh, Kristoph!' He thought, understanding who it was.

"Is there anything I can get you?" Alexis tried to process what the male was saying. 'It's 2 in the morning and you're asking me that?' He thought sarcastically.

"Why don't you come in, you might wake up the others." Alexis suggested. He was correct though, he didn't want to wake up either of the girls or Eliot's parents. "And besides, I don't think I'll get any sleep tonight." He said and relaxed himself, shuffling a bit and making space for the male. He waited, still gripping onto his blanket but not as hard.

Somehow he had been moved from the floor by the door, to the bed. He just now realized that, sighing softly. No doubt Kristoph had moved him, that was the sort of thing the guy did, going out of his way to make people comfortable, especially the Young Lord. Sitting up slowly, he pulls his legs up against his chest, wrapping his arms tightly around them, trying to still the tears that were falling.

Why, why could he never remember? It frustrated him to no end, and being sick on top of it all did not help in the least. He just wished to recall something, anything, that could tell him just who he was, where he was from, what he was doing here in this place. For as long as he could think back, he'd always lived here, but his memories before this evade him, like water drying up in a drought, or sand slipping through his fingers and blowing away.

Hearing the knock on the door, and Eliot's voice, but says nothing, remaining silent. Even when the other stepped into his room, once again asking about his well being, he stays quiet. He glances at Eliot, but only for a second, before resting his forehead against his knees, his arms tightening their hold around his legs.

Not when he heard footsteps cross the room, or when he felt the bed shift as Eliot sat down, did he look up, remaining as he was. He freezes up when he felt Eliot's hand patting his back, but eventually relaxes, it did help a little bit. Why he hadn't kicked the other out yet surprised even himself, but he decides to let it be for now.

After a moment, he takes a shuddering breath, before raising his head to look at Eliot. A pained look was on his face, reflecting the hurt he felt. "Why...do you care? Or do you really? Is...is this just an act? Some plan to try and gain my trust? If it is...leave...leave me alone..." His expression becomes that of someone who'd been betrayed, and he trembles. "I'm fine..." He whispers, not all fine in the least.

Slowly opening the door, he smiles softly. "Well, I imagined maybe one or two of you might still be awake, and I was right. If you would like, I will keep you company." Closing the door quietly behind him, he looks to the other, who was sitting up in bed, clutching onto the blankets as if he had seen a monster or something like it.

Crossing the room, he sat down on the edge of the bed, sighing softly. "I'm sorry if I frightened you. It was not my intention to do so. If I did, I truly hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me." Looking to Alexis, he smiles in an apologetic manner, his olive green eyes reflecting the sincerity of his words.

"I also apologize if I bore you, I'm no good with small talk, and absolutely horrid at keeping a one on one conversation going." His hands twist a bit in his lap, the cloth of the gloves he was wearing bunching up a tiny bit. After a moment, he pulls them off, and sticks them in a pocket.

"Why...do you care? Or do you really? Is...is this just an act? Some plan to try and gain my trust? If it is...leave...leave me alone..."

Eliot quirked an eyebrow at the odd question that the male beside him posed. He wasn't the type to trick people or play with their feelings; he detested such behavior. He watched as the male tried composing himself but Eliot didn't stop his petting.

"I'm fine..." The male whispered but Eliot refused to believe it. He kept silent for a while, his hand still patting him in a rhythmic motion as to steady his thoughts. Eliot turned his head to face the other male and spoke softly in an audible manner, "What if it isn't an act?" His eyes showed sincerity. He wasn't acting, heck, even if he tried, he wouldn't be able to act in this situation.

"What if I was doing this because I am genuinely worried about you?" He questioned the male, wondering what his response might be. "Would you hate me for it? Kick me out?" He said, softly, his voice lowering.

Alexis was just staring at Kristoph at this point. He watched as the olive-color-eyed male walked up to him, letting him speak. He sat there as the other sat down, curious to hear what he had to say.

"I'm sorry if I frightened you. It was not my intention to do so. If I did, I truly hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me."

Alexis blinked a few times at what the male had just said. "You know," He started, a chuckle leaving his lips. "You don't have to be so formal. You didn't scare me." The last part was a half-lie but Alexis couldn't really care about that detail at this point of time.

His eyes shone in the moon light, revealing two blue orbs. He wasn't sleepy but he really did want to pass the time and talk to someone. "I also apologize if I bore you, I'm no good with small talk, and absolutely horrid at keeping a one on one conversation going." He listened to the male, nodding slightly at his words while still holding his blanket, as if it was a teddy bear of some sort. "It's completely understandable. Honestly, I don't really care. Claire annoys me a lot when she talks for too long so I really appreciate when people don't talk as much." He said and smiled, turning to the male. "Tell me, is something the matter, that you are up at this time?" He asked, an innocent expression on his face.

  • 4 weeks later...

Even after saying his piece, the feeling of Eliot's hand upon his back did not go away, did not retreat as he thought it would have done. After a moment he hears what the other says, and was slightly surprised by what he heard come from the other's lips. He hadn't expected the other to say what he had, it came as quite a shock. So much so, he slowly raises his head, and looks at Eliot, brows pressed lightly together.

Shaking his head, he sighs softly, before looking away for a moment, before looking straight into Eliot's eyes. "I don't...know. I don't really know. I don't hate you, though I don't like you either. But...I wouldn't kick you out. That's for sure." His gaze falls, to his hands, which were held tightly now in his lap, fingers white from how hard they were clenching. Was this an act? Fake? He wanted to believe it was real, that what this person had said was the truth...but so many times before he'd fallen for such a thing, only to find out that it wasn't real.

"Tell me this though...Why would you care?" He raises his eyes again, staring hard at Eliot's face, his own blank, though it was obvious he was fighting back the pain and confusion he felt. He wanted to know, the reasons as to why someone whom he barely knew, would care.

Kristoph simply chuckles at the words that he didn't have to be so formal, not bothering to elaborate the fact that this was just how he was. He noticed how the other acted, taking in a mental note of the boy, a smile still on his lips as he heard what else that Alexis had to say.

Blinking in confusion, he tilts his head at the question asked of him. "Oh, there is...no reason really. I don't sleep very much you see, so...I'm up nearly all hours of the day. You just really won't see me much during the day time is all..." Once again he left out the details, that he COULDN'T be out during the day, that the night time was his domain. Well, everyone's domain really, except for the Young Lord's.

"So, I've noticed something...you really don't seem to be too adept to this whole...'mystery' thing. Why did you agree to come along?"
