Markings/Tattoos/Scars/Etc: Cross burned into his inner arm from when he was a child and his father wanted to leave a lasting lesson in his mind. It was just another busy day. Nothing was different, and it never would be. It was always the same routine, and he was fine with that. He was comfortable in this endless loop of days. At least he had to learn to be. There was no other way. It seemed every time he tried to change things it just went horribly. A new partner in life always ended with him being told he was cold despite making every effort to make her happy. A new place to go and it ended with discomfort at being outside of his element. The word was harsh at times, and in this town he was okay to proceed as he always did. Outside of the bubble he was to be washed away by the dark tide of the world. Today was like every other day. Wake up, get ready. Shower, make sure his face was clean shaved, brush his hair ans style it to stay out of his eyes. A moment to look himself in the mirror battling the small internal conflict of being displeased by himself before settling that this life was God's to do with as he willed and it wasn't about himself. Dressing as the day called for. Today was nice jeans, a button up shirt and a suit jacket with a matching tie. His shoulder bag with all his papers for work and he headed out keys in hand for the coffee shop on the way to the school. The usual neighbors were there doing their usual things and he greeted each accordingly as he walked. No need for a car when he lived only four blocks from the school and his favored coffee shop just in between. It was a little busy in the shop and he was okay with that. Eli pulled his phone from his pocket and checked his emails to be sure there was nothing important for the day. Done he pocketed the device and looked up to see three people were ahead of him. The door chimed and he wasn't sure why but it made him look back, only a small lady behind him and the door closing as a man entered. Things seemed to shift for him. The air felt thinner and he took a deep breath suddenly and looked away letting it go. The strong desire to look again ate at his very soul. The man had been beautiful. It seemed like in those silly romantic movies when the guy sees the girl and falls in love at first sight. Only it was preposterous. Neither were female and he was a man of God. Such thoughts were sinful. Yet he felt different, like his heart kick started for a brief moment and he was.. alive. There was no other description for the feeling that had washed over him when he laid eyes on the other man. "Mr. King." The voice jerked him from his mind and he looked up to see his usual Batista there looking at him oddly. Eli offered a smile and stepped forward. "Sorry, was thinking about work," he brushed it off and the young girl smiled and nodded. "The usual today?" Eli nodded and she scurried off to get his drink and usual Friday morning breakfast. As she did he fished his wallet from his messenger bag and despite himself looked back to see if the man was still there or if he had been imagining things.
