Kaname frowned when he heard Nagisa said he was in pain. He wished it was him who fell and injured his finger, so he didn't have to see Nagisa suffer for his own stupidity.

 

"Alright, stand still..." Kaname walked up to Nagisa and bent down, it was awkward and bizarre to reach for someone else's crotch and un-button. Normally he might have joked about it, but Kaname wasn't in the mood. Kissing his step brother for some reason in his sleep and then got caught doing so was bad enough, making him injure his finger so he would not be able to attend a competition which was supposed to be a surprise to his step father was worse, but since Nagisa was injured and in need of help so having to face him thus constantly reminded of his own mistakes was simply painful to bear.

 

"Call me if you need any help. I'll be right outside."Kaname said while leaving Nagisa to undress. He leaned against the wall and slid down, sitting on the wooden floor. Then he realized he hadn't got the chance to take off his own soaking cloths, its coldness made Kaname shivered a bit.

 

"..............What a nightmare......" Kaname muttered.

The hot water ran down his back warming up every inch of the cold water. The rain outside continued but by then he did pay much attention to it. Aptly he began humming some songs, his eyes closed.

The memory of Kaname's lips slip back into his mind and before realizing it he was enchanted by it, mentally he left the bathroom and found himself back in the class room.

How good it felt to have the warm lips so close to his. But he was jolted back by a rippled of guilt for what he had said.

'Forget everything!' He told himself 'you idiot, what if he's don't want to forget'

 

All of this was his own fault, he desperately wanted to say something but didn't know what at the time and anything slipped out.

Looking down into the water he felt ashamed, quickly he finished up

While Nagisa was in the bath Kaname decided to go upstairs ti his room and change his wer clothes off, and grabbed some clothing of Nagisa from the drier on his way back down. He left them in front if the bathroom and said to Nagisa: "I've left your cloths outside the door. Just yell if you need my help!!"

 

After that he ran off to the kitchen and began preparing dinner.

"How humiliating" he whispered for the fiftieth time that night. Nagisa found himself, hands all over the bath tub to the best of his ability, trying to stand up.

His legs had fallen asleep when he too had laid back in the bath to rest, his numb lower body was causing a problem for him. Slowly he stood up and grabbed the towel.

His sweat pants were simple but he ignored the shirt and placed it around his shoulder, smiling he walked to his room threw the towel on a chair and headed down stairs where the tempting smell came from.

 

"Smells great!!!!"

Since both Kaname and Nagisa was soaking wet earlier, Kaname decided to make something warm for diner. He took some chicken, cabbage, sliced carrot, a little sprig onions, mushrooms, tofu and boiled them in a large pot, and added miso for flavor. He also heated up somw rice which he cooked earlier.

 

Kaname put on baking gloves and took the steaming pot to the table. When he saw Nagisa shirtless in the dinning room he almost drop the pot on the ground. It isn't the first time Kaname saw Nagisa shirtless, in fact the first time they've met Nagisa was shirtless. But after kissing Nagisa, Kaname had realized that he, for better or worse, was attracted by him. Seeing him shirtless is just a bit too exciting for him right now.

 

'P......Put on some cloths!!! You don't want to get second degree burn on your chest!" Kaname said while putting the pot down, then immediately looked away.

"W-ha n-no I need help I can't put this on by myself" he said to the other as he approached him "I'll make up for it by setting the table" he said his voice slightly cracking in the e sound of table.

 

He blushed slightly realizing how much of an idiot he must sound like that. The room was a bit warm now compared to how it was outside, which still had the storm going, and the steams and smells of the food made Nagisa's mouth watered as his eyes drifted to the food.

He had been so hungry he had forgotten, if that was even possible.

"You're good at cooking" he stated as he reached for the shirt around his shoulder and extended it to Kaname "p-please"

 

At that moment as both of them looked at each other a wild thought ran through Nagisa. This whole thing must really be bothering Kaname, he probably even though that it was his fault, so....

 

It wasn't the most angelic of Nagisa's ideas but he did grab a chance when it was given. he stared at the other boy planning in his head over and over what his plants were.

"I'm a terrible person' he though

 

"H-hey Kaname, I have to tell you something" he looked at the other more intensely, his arm which held the shirt now falling down " I think we could both benefit from this and I beli-"

but before he said anything a loud thunder erupted through the room and the lights went out.

 

"Ah shit" said Nagisa as he reached for the other boy. The dark was something he could not stand and even in his small closed off room Nagisa kept a night light.

The lights went off, and Kaname was surprised when he felt the grip on his arm. "What...? Nagisa are you OK?" Kaname sensed that there's something wrong with Nagisa, but wasn't quite sure what. All he could do was keep his calm: "If the lightning didn't damage any hardware the power should come back on very soon. If not we may need to flip the electric brake manually. I thought I saw a flash light somewhere in the kitchen when I was going through the stuff in there....."

"S-sure" answered back Nagisa as his grip slowly softened and he releases the boy, "Sorry, Kaname I can't stand th--" a soft sound comes from the window as the wind hits it harshly making Nagisa jump

 

"What was that!" he asks alarmed stares around. His heart began to increase and his palms became sweater "Any l-luc-ck?" he asks his voice stuttering

"Nagisa......" Kaname had finally realized what's going on, that Nagisa is somehow afraid of the dark. He began to wonder how did Nagisa survived this far. "It's ok. Everything is going to be fine." Kaname said as he put his other hand on Nagisa's, holding it tightly.

 

After a while the lights flickered back on, the sudden it made Kaname's eyes hurt. As he trying to get used to it he realized how close he was to Nagisa, and hurriedly pulled away. "G...Good! Now the lights are back on, let's start eating before everything gets cold....Oh, and what were you going to say before it went dark?"

He ran red as Nagisa realized his own behavior "Ah haha nothing I wasn't saying anything" he tells the other as he reached for two plates

"L-lets eat lets eat" soon enough Nagisa had prepared some things to the best of his ability and dug in. He stayed in the kitchen looking over at the larger piano.

 

"Say Kaname" he murmured "Do you want to play piano as my right hand"

Kaname sat across Nagisa as they began to eat. Good thing the blackout was brief, and the pot of food was still hot. Sipping soup from the small bowl in his hand he choked when he heard what Nagisa said. He hurriedly put the bowl down, coughing and grabbed the tissues on the table to clean up the mess he busted out. "Wh....What are you talking about! You mean...you mean you want me to play the piano with you...on stage?!"

"No?" he said as his eyes watched the others reaction "How about now? want to try" slowly he stood from the chair and walked over to Kaname's side

"Come one" his arm was places over the others and slowly he tugs at him until they are both walking towards the large animal like piano.

With a swift motion the cover is removed and Nagisa sits Kaname in the small stool.

 

"How does it feel?" he asks with a smile, their faces now close to each other due to the small size of the chair "I'll let you know no one but me has ever touching this"

 

As the falboard is opened a large collection of polished white and black keys come into view and if one looks hard enough they can see small markings from the years of use.

Nagisa's fingers are placed towards the left section of the piano, while his damaged hand stays on his lap. Two notes are heard in the room.

"You right hand will play those notes the higher octave"

Sitting in front of the keys of the piano for a moment Kaname thought he was in front of a giant beast, with its black and white teeth pointing at him. He slowly turned his head like an old automaton, and looked at Nagisa, who had a smile on his face. How does it feel? Kaname was so nervous he could barely feel a thing!

 

"I did asked if you can teach me to play an instrument but....." Kaname stopped mid-sentence. He looked down at the injured hand of Nagisa on his lap, then he looked at Nagisa again. Kaname thought to himself: "Is this his way of trying to ease my guilt? Even after I've...taken advantage of him while he slept and made him injure his hand?"

 

".............Alright, I'll play with you. Just so you know I don't know how to read a score sheet."

"You know twinkle twinkle little star? its cute right?" he laughed "Lets do this you will play the melody with your right hand" he pointed at the bottom keys. And told Kaname the notes he was to play "Its repetitive so no new ones will be added" .

 

Soon enough a soft melody spread, and anyone listening could tell that the song was far too slow, some of the melody notes came slopping but Nagisa kept his smile all throughout. Softly he began to sing to the song softly but enthusiastically.

"Watch this" he told Kaname as Nagisa began to play mess with the bottom notes increasing the amount of notes he placed "continue with the main melody" he told Kaname as his eyes watched the boy, his own hand now creating an improvised melody.

Kaname learned the notes and slowly began to catch up. Glad it was only a repetitive action so it wasn't to hard. He was completely focused on the keys. Then Nagisa began to vary things up, adding new melodies in his part. Kaname was amazed, not only by Nagisa's skill and performance, but also by how beautiful his notes and Nagisa's joined together.

 

They continued to play like this for a while, but suddenly Kaname pressed on the wrong note. "Wait...wait a second....let me take a break...." Kaname stopped the playing and rubbed his fingers with his left hand. "My fingers are sore like crazy...

IHis eyes shifted to Kaname as he said this and then it happened. One could call it a random spurt of the moment or a simple crazy act but Nagisa's hand, without realizing it, listed from the piano and reached for Kaname's. He held it there for a second and then he lifted it up to place his lips over them. Soft kisses landed on every finger as he murmured "sorry"

 

And then the spell was broken, his eyes landed on Kaname's and he froze unsure of what to do next. In general he'd never planned on doing such a thing, never in his right mind but the soft fingers had captivated him in such a way, how small they looked.

But aside from the fingers it had been the owners face, how Kaname's small cheeks lip up.

'This is ridiculous' he told himself 'stop playing around'

 

"You can call this pay back" he murmured to Kaname his eyes dropping to the floor and his shame taking over him.

".............." Kaname fell silent as he moved closer to Nagisa. He leaned downwards so he could stare Nagisa right in the eyes. It has been a roller coaster ride for the past few days, ups and downs and all the madness he couldn't even dream about before. Especially with everything that happened today, and Nagisa kissing his fingers was the last straw. Something snapped inside his brain.

 

Kaname tried to speak in a calm voice, but the shivering of his body betrayed him: "Nagisa, I remembered hearing you say you don't know what to think about me. I ran away at the time because neither do I have any idea how to think about you. It's a mess! All of this! I kissed you then you said to brush it off, and then I made you hurt your finger then you asked me to play with you. And finally....this! I'm confused Nagisa! What are we? Friends? Brothers? Come on let's sort this damn mess up! Cause I don't think I can take this anymore."

Nagisa kept his head down, like a child who had been caught stealing a candy. His head did not move up instead it stayed there, he knew Kaname was right, and that gave him even more reason to not say anything. His lips felt like they had been glued and when he tried to speak the bump on the back of his throat stopped him.

 

"I dont know" he whispers his eyes not once rising. "I can't say I wouldn't know" he tried for once to be honest to himself and the other. Nagisa's experience to love was -2 infinity, never had there been a girlfriend or a kiss, or anything. But he knew desire when he felt it and that had been it when he was kissing the others hand.

 

He slid away a bit, though the chair was smal it still contained some room. And the more he slid the more relaxed he felt as if putting distance allowed for a more relaxed atmosphere. But the edge on Kaname's voice did not ease and before he knew it he was on his feet, Nagisa backet away but felt cornered.

 

 

'You're a coward' he told himself in a repulsive tone.

"God damn it Nagisa!" Kaname let out a frustrated roar, he stood up and said loudly: "I've ran, you've ran. We've both ran away from our feelings and it's frankly painful! I've had enough with all this ambiguity, and the only way to end this is for one of us should fucking man up. So here I go, listen carefully. I, Kamishiro Kaname, now Yamamoto Kaname, has fall in love with my step brother, Yamamoto Nagisa. Yes I said it, I Love you! Now what about you!? Nagisa? Reject me or accept me! Right here right now! Then we can go on with our lives!"

"I.." he stops to regain his breath "I've never been with anyone romantically" Nagisa's vision rises from the floor and he finds the courage to look into the others burning eyes.

"I have never seen myself with anyone therefore" he says "I want time to see what is happening. For all we know it could be a simple chemistry"

 

What he was saying described Nagisa more than enough. He had seen how many of the people he knew got dragged by infatuation and often forgot love. Although he was a man, Nagisa, idolized the idea of true love; deep mesmerizing true love.

 

"I want love" he states now more confident than before "I want to be loved and give love, I don't want a play relationship" his eyes now intensely looking at Kaname's

"If we go with this I want something real"

 

His left arm turned into a fist, he had states his rules there. But thing was he didn't know if Kaname was this way also, he didn't know how things worked with two guys but if the effort was there then he would try also

Kaname listened silently, when Nagisa finished Kaname was flooded by different emotions, and before he realized it tears were flowing down his cheek.

 

"So you do have feelings for me...! Thank you...than you....Um? I'm crying? That's odd I an happy but I'm crying?" He looked at Nagisa with a tearful smile, "Yeah, you're right, we shouldn't rush things, but now we're finally on the same page! I want love too! I want to know you better so I can love you better. We can slowly work things out, right?"

 

Kaname wiped the tears of his face and made a embarassed smile: "Wow, that's a lot of drama for a break session. Shall we continue practice?" as he spoke he put his fingers back on the keys.

"S-sure" he said as he quickly sat back in the chair.

 

At night the rain lightened but Nagisa stayed up in his room watching it, it hit softly against the glass creating soft sounds. His face laid against the cold window and his eyes closed, there he fell asleep. The next morning Nagisa didn't hear the alarm, his heavy body slept against the window a small section of blanket against his body. The soft music of the alarm rung through the room but did not reach his ears.

Deep in slumber he slightly smiled and tilted his head, some of his hair feel against the side of his face covering Nagisa's right eye.

 

Outside the rain had stopped but even it being a new day there was a large amount of clouds covering the sky.

Kaname woke up feeling completely refreshed. Last night talking with Nagisa was a big relief for him. While there're still a lot of things they need to sort out, at least they're no longer completely in the dark. He put on his cloths and went down stairs to prepare breakfast. Today's menu was some rice and soup left over from yesterday. He also took some pickled white carrot, and some teriyaki fish. When he finished cooking he went upstairs.

 

"Nagisa! It's time for breakfast!" Kaname yelled to the closed door, but got no respond. After a moment of hesitation he pushed the door open and saw Nagisa sitting by the window, sleeping.

 

"........What a Deja vu..." Kaname commented to the situation. Then a devious smile can to his face as he sneaked closer, until he was at Kaname's side. The he kissed gently on Nagisa's cheek.

 

"Good morning, Nagisa." Kaname said smiling.

He mumbles slightly before slowly opening his eyes, the light from the window slightly hurting his eyes.

"G-good morning?" he asks in a confuse state.

 

Nagisa's eyes concentrated on Kaname's smaller face his eyes widened in surprise and he slightly jumped back "G-good morning Kaname!" he said fully awake now. Noticing how close their faces were he blushes madly before quickly looking around but intentionally keeping his eyes on Kaname's rosy face.

His eyes were brighter that morning than before and without realizing it Nagisa moved bringing his lips up to Kaname's cheek.

 

"Y-you did that too, I felt it" he whispers "Is it okay to kiss you there?"

Kaname was a little surprised, then chuckled at what Nagisa said, he replied: "Yes of course. Now come on, it's time for breakfast."

 

They went down the dinning room and began to eat. During breakfast Kaname asked: "I just remembered, the bar you worked at! When do is your shift? Have you told the owner of the bar about your injuries?"
